“Hi I had a non fault crash in a motability vehicle it was the august of the year we were in and out of lockdowns like a yo yo. We were not in lockdown when we crashed but we’re back in lockdown by the time I had to have a medical. I asked for treatment with a chiropractor for myself and my 2 children and for some X-rays or MRI scans to be done because I could barely walk due to the pain in my head, neck and back. My 2 children also had back and neck injury’s. Our treatment was arranged for by the insurance company via carpenters. My children didn’t get any at all and I was treated by the same physiotherapist a week after I had been treated by him via the nhs. This was done via video due to lockdown and all I was given was exercises to complete, the same exercises he had given me a week beforehand. If I had been treated within a quicker timescale I might have been able to see someone in person. The solicitors were called carpenters. They sent my daughter a child letters to go for a medical at a certain address and when I queried it because we were in lockdown I was told to make sure I went to the appointment or I would be billed for a missed appointment. When we arrived at the address everywhere was obviously locked up as we were in a lockdown. I was then told her appointment was actually a video appointment and I was not to miss any more or I would be charged. She missed the next video appointment due to me being taken to A and E in an ambulance and she had to come with me. She was a child at the time and I didn’t even think about the appointment until we got home the next day. I did phone the solicitors to tell them but they said I should have let them know at least 24 hours before. I explained that it was an emergency. The next appointment again for her was missed due to not getting the appointment letter until after the appointment date. Again I explained but they implied I was falsifying facts due to me forgetting about the appointments, when I told them I didn’t receive many of the letters they sent about my daughter I was again called a liar. I reminded carpenters that they also had a file for me and a file for my other daughter and we had not missed any appointments so it was out of the ordinary for me to miss any. I am an Army Veteran, I arrive 15 minutes early for most appointments and consider it very rude to just not turn up. I welcomed the appointments for all 3 of us as it gave me something to do other than school by zoom. When Carpenters wrote to my daughter to tell her they would not represent her any longer I didn’t have a choice but to also change my other daughter and myself to another solicitors too, I had been extremely poorly with what I now know to be occipital neuralgia caused by the crash so I couldn’t cope with much especially an insurance claim which should have been quite straightforward. The other side admitted fault and agreed to pay for medicals etc. i tried in vain to make contact with my claims handler by phone and email but no one ever returns the calls. I eventually gave up. I had no choice but to use Carpenters because it’s the one the motability scheme insist you use. Please if you are given a choice do not use them.

The worst company i have dealt with by far, terrible customer service

My claims was fobbed off to Carpenters by my motor insurer. My case handler can never be reached by phone, always goes through to voicemail and despite leaving voice messages and sending emails, she doesn't get back to me.

They have has my case since summer 2020 and it's still not resolved. It is a very simple claim where 3P hit me. I have has no contact at all from them since March 2021. They just ignore me and do nothing about my claim.

I am out of pocket for my excess and they don't care.

I wish this company did not exist, i wish my claim had been handled by anyone else. These guys are lazy thieves.

I have an ongoing claim with carpenters. I have been trying for over a week to get on touch with somebody to speak about my case and still Haven't managed to speak to anyone. When hasting direct recommended carpenters I thought they would have been a little better but after reading other people reviews it seems they ignore everybody. They where very helpful at starting my claim and now I can't speak to anyone. I have emailed and phoned with no reply.

My dealings have been nothing but great with Carpenters. The whole experience has been seamless, from the beginning to the end of dealings with them. I have corresponded with the same person throughout the last 3 years, whom has been amazing. Mark Benson was attentive, sympathetic (where required) friendly and very helpful throughout. I could not recommend them more! Thank you!

Do not recommend anyone go through with the Carpenters Group, very slow in proceeding with documents, take 1 week to respond to a simple yes or no question, unhelpful and poor customer service. Michael Dixon himself provided appalling service and provided me with false information with my claim, he didnt talk me through the process and the steps of the examination all the way through to the payout of my claim that I have now potentially lost out on money due to technicalities and not having provided the Dr at the examination of the relevant injuries that occurred in my traffic accident

I wish I could give 0 stars. I am telling now , never ever use them. Definitely the most unprofessional, dishonest and absolutely deceiving law firms around.
I was involved in an incident and was instructed to use them over a year ago.
For over a year now all they have done is fed me nothing but lies. They would tell me documents have not been sent over to them when I have clear evidence of them being sent and also received by them!! The constant promise of getting a call back after tirelessly calling them and calling them, waiting for an answer. They never once called me back. Everytime I had spoken with them I would call them.
The other party admitted full liability and even agreed on a settlement price , which we both then agreed on. I was then told by STEPHEN HALL and JOANNE STONES my case would be settled within 21 days. Well this was nearly a year ago. My case has now been sent over to SAMANTHA MCNEICE who again same as the others fed me her lies.
I have evidence of them lying to me , i also have evidence of what the other party really said and not what I was told by carpenters. Carpenters have received the payout by the other party and now do not answer my calls and when they do decide to answer they tell me either a document has not been received or that the other party has made serious allegations against us. This review is the only way I got tell carpenters that I currently am taking legal action against them , with a group of over 13 people who have been in the same position as me , messed around and lied to by carpenters.
I will say this again DO NOT go with this company. Just know if your own sake if your case is in carpenters hands especially people such as STEPHEN HALLS, JOANNE STONES and SAMANTHA MCNEICE you might as well take yourself out of it. You will not be getting any response from them.

After a car accident in October 2015 i was put in contact with Carpenters Solicitors after previous Solicitors Cogent Law ceased practicing. Working with Motability Scheme Customers they provided a first rate service from start to finish. Heather Callaghan (legal adviser)Kept me informed through out the claim by email i.e letters/ legal documents and by phone.She was pleasant, professional and helped me to understand the legal process regarding a personal injury claim.The claim was settled within nine months and i was satisfied with the outcome. Well Done Carpenters !!:-)

It's totally impossible to get in touch with Viv Titcomb who is dealing with my claim. This accident was of no fault of mine and was admitted by the third party insurance on the day of my accident. I have had e-mails from Viv who puts "please contact me with any concerns" on the end of her e-mails but I challenge anybody to ring her number and get through. My claim has been going on since the 11/11/15 and to date she has never answered any of my calls !
I should of took the advise from friends and family and instructed a company that has much better reviews than this one, instead I took the advice of my insurance company !

Claim in progress via Hastings, who are also useless. Physio and medical sorted quite quickly. But my handler is very rude, arrogant and talks in a tone of voice and attitude not appreciated. Seems to forget who the customer is.

Don't even bother to try a fight a case, even when...

Don't even bother to try a fight a case, even when you go through and get support G evidence. Just cause more stress by refusing to support you. Apparently don't know the rules of the road, and can't be bothered to fight a case. Which shows the lack of trust they have in their own skillset.

The footage that shows someone else dangerous driving, and apparently the highway code is completely wrong that you have to indicate when attempting an overtake with a vehicle that is manouvering. Let alone having to slow down to go round an obstacle or a hazard in the road. They don't even bother to read your documentation. Apparently it happened at my home, which I reported 100 times it was at a friend's. Useless and unhelpful company.

This is the second google review I am writing since writing a complaint is the only way to get a response from Carpenters. I have received appalling service from Carpenters - my complaints echo that of other reviewers - slow service, lack of communication. I believe this will be the 6th complaint I have made over a 2 year period and still changes aren't made. I will be contacting the legal ombudsman today as this has gone too far. I would urge anyone looking for a solicitor to avoid carpenters unless you willingly want to sign up for months/years of ignored emails, hours spent on hold and your case being delayed longer than it should ever be.

Carpenters have been a delight when it comes to dealing with my claim for me. They are very quick and prompt to get everything dealt with on your part and make things so easy for you, you don t have to do anything other than show up to their appointment. Which if you miss they are more than happy to give you another. They are very accommodating and understanding and Ryan McIntyre specifically who has dealt with my case since April has been fantastic. If you re looking for a company to deal with your claim and I would definitely recommend carpenters

Have accepted the settlement fee. Still at the same process for more than 3 months. I have to keep calling. First time I was told offer had been sent. Called two weeks later to be told it hadn't been sent and was genuine mistake. Called again 3 weeks later to find out case handler had been sacked by the organisation. Transfered to a new case handler. Called again a few weeks later to be told that she has now gone on annual leave and the case will not be sent till she gets back from sunning it in Spain. Useless solicitors!!

Bogus- absolutely bogus. Unbelievable service. My case was straight forward with loads of solid proof to support my claim. Yet It took over 2 years and still ongoing. Settlement was agreed 3 months back but payment still not been made. What they have done is taken a cheeky tactic- if you sent them an email your representative solicitor will either be on holiday or they will be out of office- this is the basic and you will have to deal this throughout your case. All you will get is an automated email from them no matter what. I have more automated emails from them than the combine of my email and their actual email response. If you ring them any time through out working days you will catch them at office- guess what they will tell you regards your query ? ..." Oh I've just been back from 2 weeks holiday and I am looking all pending files in order, I will get back to you once I come across your file'. Funny thing this- they tell this every time you ring them. First few time I thought what a co-incidence, again I rang just after their holiday.. but soon you will realize its not. It can't be like that within a gap of 2 months. Although my case is agreed to settled but not completed yet, I would suggest all do not ever use this solicitors, not even by mistake. If you do, good luck and be prepared to deal the trouble you never asked for. You will need loads of painkiller and tablets to control your stress you never see coming.

Partner had accident. Was passed on through tasting insurance. Beware never use these they ask for credit card details of anyone in house which state can't proceed with this information. Yet a day later receive an email saying they have contact third party insurance which I never instructed them to nor signed but they have signed for me surely all these are illegal. When I haven't confirmed them to do so asked to cancel yet they have ignored my request. If continues will pursue with my own solicitor and sew for falsifying my signature with correct needs and also for asking irrelevant questions about credit cards and home insurance not happy at all !!!!!

Still in the process of dealing with a personal injury claim. No regular updates mostly when I chase them. They are suggesting amounts, despite having no idea of my loss of earnings or the extent of my injuries as I am still not fully recovered from an accident Sept 2018. There is so little communication, often I have contacted them and little response is given.

The car accident affected my wellbeing significantly and they are really not helping instead causing me more unnecessary stress and worry. They are the firm supplied via my insurer Hastings Direct.

Sadly I cannot recommend them and have asked for my case to be reassigned.

I got referred to carpenters by Hastings in April last year and since then they were all over my case back then but now I barely hear nothing and have to do all the chasing. My claim is no where near settled yes some of it is partly because of the third party but some is the solicitors fault for not keeping onto them. Staff aren t the sharpest tools in the box as you phone up and get put through to different people all the time. The file handler I m with is barely there. You would think after 10 months it would be further than it is now but will continue to fight.

3rd party non claim fault is taking more than 3 years. They wont keep in reminders and follow ups. when you call they will tell get feedback in next day and no emails and calls.

I wont recommend anyone to use this service.

Excellent service. I can't thank this company enough especially Lee Morgan for how quick they recovered my excess after a car accident on 9th March 2017. They kept me totally informed with e-mails, phone calls and letters and were so helpful throughout. I received the settlement of my claim on 15th April 2017. Brilliant service. Thank you to you all at Carpenters. Will definitely recommend .

Absolutely rubbish, I dislike the level of service this company has given me. Last year a third party hit my stationary car in a parking bay let me say it again, STATIONARY CAR IN A PARKING BAY. My car was nearly a write off. I also have a witness. But it seems that the third party within his ignorance and lies has the upper hand with this case. He has lied from the beginning and yet in the eyes of carpenters this is how the law goes i guess. I advise people please 1. Do not ever purchase insurance through Quote Me Happy they are another rubbish company who cares about money rather than their customers and 2. Do not go to Carpenters they will screw the good guys over. I want people to know because of all he harassment carpenters and the third parties case because at this moment no one is really defending me, I have had to seek councling due to near suicidal attempts. I want people to know this is no joke you are messing about with peoples lives here. I will never if a situation happens in the future accept carpenters to represent me in anything again. From this point I advised wrap up the case in his favour and all I wish to receive is a letter say this case is solved and closed and a sorry for all the harassment and issues we ve caused.

Absolutely awful from the very first phone call. Disgusting attitude on the phone. Wouldn't listen to my side of the story one bit and kept getting phone calls from different people asking what happened even though told numerous people the same story about six different times. Keeps sending me letters to post back to them even though I've posted back the same letters they have requested twice. I've even emailed people directly on there own work email addresses and not had one reply even though it was urgent. Wish I would of gone with a different company now but my insurance insisted I had to go with them. Stay clear and avoid at all costs!!!!

Am still waiting on the lawyer phoning me which aye think should have been weeks ago.... my two kid's were in the car as well....All carpenters have done is send letters out an send me to physiotherapy.... still waiting on a phone call from the lawyer....

Wow I can t believe all these poor reviews I thought it was just me who was receiving terrible service!! I ve also been passed from pillar to post and after almost 4 years have just been moved to a trainee solicitor who is trying to force me into a settlement when I m still receiving treatment for the injury suffered-shocking! Still awaiting a call or email on next steps when he s discussed it with a manager . Why not just put me in touch with someone who can actually deal with the case. Poor customer service certainly doesn t feel like they are on your side avoid at all costs!!

After having a hand full off case handlers looking after my file, I was abit concerned about the way this company was looking after my case. But that said alot of things must happen behind the scenes as carpenters solictors handled my case very well. I'm not sure how long a case should last but my 2 years + seemed reasonable. I'd like to thank janina leigh for taking on the majority of my case who stayed in touch with myself promptly and managed to reach settlement. I would use carpenters again.

I have been really disappointed at the lack of communication from this firm. No updates on my case which I have to frequently had to contact them to find out what's happening. Would expect better customer service. I don't think it's sufficient not to hear from anyone for weeks on end and when you do get in touch via email, no-one responds for days.

I was first appointed with carpenters via my insurance company and I was in doubt first but I have to apologise for being doubtful as carpenters have done a tremendous job for start to finish I recommend carpenters to anyone who had an accident they recovered a small amount first but they up their game and achieved a 4 figure sum very happy can't complain.

I was unfortunate to have a road traffic accident in November 2018 and I approached Carpenters to deal with my personal injury claim. My file handler was Anne Hudson and she dealt with my file very efficiently and achieved settlement recently. I was kept up to date using the MyClaim app which was easy to use and any questions that I raised with Anne were answered promptly. Would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends. Great service with very friendly and professional staff

Now i have seen why you have more 1 stars on your review, it speaks itself, i am no doubt that i am one of them because of your very poor service. Before i have a high respect, when you hear Carpenters solicitors , it looks great, good at their job, but unfortunately its the other way around. Most of your staff are not consistent and helpful, low patience and sometimes sounds irritated and arrogant. There were no accurate answers in all the queries i made, different reasons has been said. A lot of explanation made you thinking is it real? The important thing i can say is you have a poor service because of your staff and you are not that good to recommend. Thank you.

My daughter suffered many injuries including a severe brain injury in a car accident in 2016. After interviewing 3 solicitors my son in law and I chose Carpenters. Ann Alister gave us confidence that she had the right experience to guide us through a very traumatic period. Since then she has been diligent, caring, professional and has gone the extra mile to provide support and advise whenever needed. Because of my daughters injuries, she needed a lot of professional care which Ann immediately put in place and monitored on a regular basis. It has been a very difficult time but Ann has provided a very personal and efficient service and has been honest and forthright when necessary to ensure we were guided correctly. Avoid. Dear God avoid. I cannot express in words how inept they are. I had an RTC on 16/12/15 which I had to be cut from the car (it was destroyed.....literally) and it left me with extensive injuries to my arm and shoulder, severe travel anxiety and ultimately cost me my job (as I couldn't travel). That was 9 months ago - I have heard next to nothing from them. The liability has been accepted by the other partie's insurers, I have had the physio arranged through my insurers and I have seen an independent medical professional who confirmed the injuries and impact the accident had on me. I have had next no contact with my own solicitors. I heard more from the other parties!! Emails go unanswered. Phone calls get bounced around. Its a joke. Its a literal joke - they are laughing at me. By the time I get any kind of settlement, money will be obsolete and we'll all be living as digital entities. They aren't on your side - they're not solicitors. I don't think they are legitimate company - I really feel like they're just laughing at everyone who needs their help. When liability is agreed, physio is arranged and completed, independent medical assessments are completed - what is left to do? Where is the dialogue of figures?! What are they waiting for?!?!? All of the physio and medical appointments were done BY March of this year.

You will do all the chasing. You wont hear anything. The exceptionally rare times you speak to someone, they wont help and will fob you off with vague pointless answers. This company is laughing at you. I can say that - they are laughing at me too. I needed their help and they have let me down EVERY single step.....without fail. I would recommend taking legal advice from Jimmy Carr's accountant or Jeffrey Archer's solicitor before going to these "expert's". Couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

BTW - Love the 5* rated reviews here. In no way do they look or sound like they're employee's of the company writing them. 145 1* reviews and 30 5* star reviews that seem totally contradictory to the vibe EVERYONE else has got. Hmmmmm nah they're legit. Totally.

I was holding out on writing this due to giving the company a chance to get back to me as I know how busy offices and call centres can get.
During the initial period of the claim everything ran like clockwork with constant communication, appointments and constant emails.
I ve now had my claim passed around like the last naan bread at the rugby club and I honestly have no clue who is monitoring and aiding me further as when I rang to talk to who I thought was looking after the claim I was hit with the reply of oh actually your claim has been given to someone else .
I have tried to contact the hotel several times via the online portal but nobody seems to acknowledge this.
I have contacted the customer service team to no reply.
I thought this would be an easy claim and be finalised as I was hit whilst stationary by another car last November.
I genuinely would not mind the wait but in the mean time it has to sit as an at-fault claim on my current insurance which has tripled my insurance.

I had an accident back in August 2015 and it has been dragging on since the other driver decided to make a claim saying I was at fault.
However, Carpenters have been great at communicating, being responsive, sending documents on time!

I had accident on January 2015 and it wasn t my fault I had witness I gave all the information this company needed but they did not used my witness information and other party keep refused for payment ,This compey keep changing my case handles and passing to the other colleague I did receive nothing to know what s happening next and from last December I am waiting for court confirmation date .

Definitely I do not recommend this company if you had accident , you ll live with headache and stress with them.

Stay clear of these so-called solicitors. Recommended by insurers after an accident involving myself and my grandmother in which she was injured. We had an independent witness who our solicitor, Deborah Sloane, says has not answered any of her correspondence even though i myself have been able to contact him on several occassions to find out whether he has heard from Carpenters. How is it that I can get in touch with the witness but Deborah can't? Either she is totally incompetent or there is something more suspect going on. It's as if they actually want us to lose the case. Anyway, it has now come to the point where we are going to trial in a few days without our independent witness who is to put it simply, the cornerstore of our case. Without this independent witness I fear that it is just our word against the other party. DO NOT USE CARPENTERS. Deborah Sloane doesn't answer the phone and quite frankly has an air of arrogance about her. Go elsewhere if you want your case to be handled properly by people who actually want the best outcome for yourself. AVOID!

From day one this company were excellent and very professional. I had a service which was second to none nothing was too much trouble from start to finish with regular contact through email, phone and post and always polite and pleasant. They made the whole process understandable and I was very happy with the end result. They arranged for me to see a physio, and private doctor, I received compensation from MIB from a RTA which was not a straight forward case. I would recommend the use of this company without hesitation, very professional.

How this company is still in business is beyond me. Straight forward non fault accident in March last year. My experience seems to mirror many of the negative reviews on here, apparently carpenter's like to appear concerned in their responses to reviews however they do not seem to learn from the feedback. Communication very poor, we have had to chase every step of the way and even put in a formal complaint around 6 months ago. Even after that the service was equally as abysmal. Averaging around 3 to 4 emails before you received a response, being told countless times that they will call back but no one ever calls back. I finally received an offer in November , which was accepted and was advised that I would receive the money within 4-6 weeks, it's now the 11th January and I am still chasing them for my money. I called last week and was told it should have been chased but hadn't been because it was christmas. Last week I was told it had been chased and the cheque had been sent out, as soon as they received it they would call to transfer the money via BACS. That didn't happen so I called them on Monday when I was told it would be 2 days and they would call me. They didn't so I called today to be told they have no idea where the cheque is, it could be with the insurance company (despite being told on Monday it had been sent) or it could be in the post - she was very unhelpful and basically said she didn't know when it would arrive and they will call when it does (which they wont). I am beyond angry at this point, I am going to complain to the ombudsman in the morning. My advice to anyone is do not use them - the year of chasing these people has been more stressful than the accident itself. Carpenter's before you suggest that I contact complaints - i already have (ref 1291556).

My experience with Carpenters is terrible and still at and hopefully will change them ASAP, lack of communications and not too interest to help their clients achieve the possible best out of your claim, I will appreciate if the owner worked hard to sort out with his workers and get the job done rather than you responding to review with a little efforts or nothing to improved your attitude toward helping your clients.

I have had a positive experience with Carpenters. I found the staff polite and reassuring during a stressful time recovering from an RTA. It has been a lengthy procedure but it takes time to gather information, get medical reports and put a case together. I have had several representatives dealing with my case. The last one being James Lello who was helpful, reassuring and explained things clearly. I have just received the final settlement and am grateful to Carpenters for this.

Carpenters were the company providing the legal cover on my car insurance. Everything went reasonably well through the claim process. In the end I am happy with the outcome. The only issue for me was, at times it was hard to get a hold of the solicitor in charge of my case.

I was involved in a near death head on rtc in June 2015,I was left with multiple fractures and loss of organs & still have operations to come.at the time of the accident my partners insurance company put us in contact with carpenters solicitors ,I didn't know what to expect as I've never nearly been killed by an uninsured licenceless foreign driver before.i was in hospital 2 weeks in that time I had been given simon Roberts as my case handler,I have done my own review search & to be honest I was worried about all the negative reviews,but how ever I have had completely the opersit,my case is not straight forward it's complicated and time consuming and I appreciate that & I'm pationt as I'm still of work nearly 8 months now & it could be another 8 months before I'm back at work if I'm able to do my profession anymore due to injuries.my advice is be pationt and don't expect miricals to happen over night,simon Roberts has always being professional and curtious and I'm very happy simon is there for us in this horrific ordeal we are going through,simon is the man for the job as far as I am concerned,top man thankyou simon & carpenters it will come good in the end .And just to pint out I DON'T work for carpenters I'm a professional hgv driver.

I'd like to thank Carpenters law for everything they have done in my settlement,I can't recommend Simon Roberts enough he's an absolute gentleman who had my best interests from start to finish,if your injured in a bad none fault accident and you use carpenters insist on having Simon represent you I can't praise him enough.

Panel Solicitors, don't act in your best interests, act in insurance companies best interest, offer low on compo, give you wrong info, ignore negotiation period, delay payments and court action. Don't use unless you have to.
No I don't want to contact you to be fobbed off further and still get nothing done.

I was unfortunate to be involved in an accident (none fault) feb this year
Max Read dealt with my case from start to finish
And He was fantastic, communication and response time was very fast, he was happy to go over anything I didn t understand and made everything very simple and straightforward
The only time I had an issue was when max was on leave and someone els was looking after the case. but once he was back no issues again
I have read a few bad reviews on here but I would highly recommend Max and if your able to request him directly

I don't often take the time to write reviews online, however as there is a lot of negativity with reviews of Carpenters on here I think it's only fair to let others now about how positive my experience has been after just receiving the final settlement of my claim.

I was pointed in the direction of Carpenters by my car insurance after an accident in May 2016. Those who I spoke to including my claims handler were all very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful in getting my case sorted. Within a couple of months I attended the medical report, and also they put me in touch with HCML who organised physio for me, and got me in at a nearby clinic and meant not having long waits with the NHS, which I was very grateful for.

I then had a second medical report towards the end of 2016, unfortunately there was an error made in this one which caused a delay in proceedings (not carpenters fault, rather the doctor who made a mistake in the report) however this was edited correctly and a few months later it got to the offer stage.

The compensation recieved I felt was very fair and wasn't too long a process. It is key for a solicitor to make sure things are correct and not rush for a speedy conclusion and felt that carpenters gave a fantastic service, and I am very grateful for all the help I recieved. I hope not to end up injured in an accident ever again but would certainly trust Carpenters if I needed them in the future!

I was passed to Carpenters by my car insurance company well over 1 year ago because the previous solicitors went bust! From the start Carpenters were very slow and I had to chase them, it is nearly 2 years since my accident I am still having treatment with very little help from Carpenters, I paid extra for legal expenses but cannot choose the solicitors, NOT fair being 'palmed off' with second rate solicitors!

I'm insure why this has so many 1 stars. I cannot fault Mr David Hay who dealt with my own experience. He had my claim dealt with within 3 months settled and paid out. No issues the guy is what we say a legend.

Would no doubt use them again should I need any legal advise.

Absolutely useless and disinterested.
They have been handling my case for over 3 years now for a what should be a small claims open and shut case for loss of earnings after a skip wagon hit my van.
I believe James Harding is currently the 6th person to handle my case now and I haven t heard from him in months, unanswered emails, tried to contact the office but still no response.
I haven t got a clue what is going on with it all now.
I have never dealt with a company that is this bad with communication and organisation before and I can t believe they are still business.
Steer well clear of this shambolic outfit if you want a chance at a successful claim.

Don't know why all those poor reviews. They have some problems.. It wasn't always easy to contact them. I was so frustrated with unanswered emails that I had to write formal complaint letter through their channels. It helped. From then on my emails and questions were always answered in fast and eficient way and most importantly.. they delivered on money. It's taken two years but was totally worth it. I don't know other firms on the market, but would recommend Carpenters to anyone.

I was put through to Carpenters by my insurer after a car accident. It was not my fault, but was disputed by the third party. It was almost 15 months ago, and is still not resolved.

Progress is so slow, nothing seems to happen until you chase them yourself. The number the make available on their website is 0844, and with all the chasing you have to do, the costs can add up. I found another local number, but after ringing through and being transferred, it rang and rang with no answer or answerphone.

My case has now been handled by two people, which I'm sure slowed down matters even more. I have emailed a number of times, and as far as I can recall haven't even had an acknowledgement of receipt, let alone a response to my queries within a reasonable time frame.

It took almost a year to get to a point where the 3rd party was threatened with court, and it has been about 6 weeks since their last correspondence stating the 3rd party hadn't responded and they were requesting a decision in my favour.

I appreciate at times things may be out of their hands if dealing with the courts or 3rd party insurers, but a simple courtesy email to let me know would be nice.

Will avoid in future if I have the choice

The very first letter she received was threatening and stating they would be taking my daughter County Court if she failed to reply within 14 days. Despite the fact they said they had included all supporting documentation, no supporting documents included with the initial letter. The facts of how they said the accident occurred were totally inaccurate. All in all a clear attempt to bully and intimidate my daughter. I question their professionalism.

Unbelievable its been over 2 years since 2018 march.
Its never straightforward. Be aware and be patience.
Firstly the struggle was not knowing whos handling my case.
Playing tennis from one to another called hastings insurance to complain and they instructed them for the 3rd time.
Was sent to physiotherapy after several months and doctor wasn't happy due to delay of treatment of injuries.
The driver apparently wasn't insured very very slow they found out after a year and half wow
Case handle on leave pay.
New case handler.
This is not right to be treated very very disappointed honestly.
Still waiting
