How this company is still in business is beyond me...
How this company is still in business is beyond me. Straight forward non fault accident in March last year. My experience seems to mirror many of the negative reviews on here, apparently carpenter's like to appear concerned in their responses to reviews however they do not seem to learn from the feedback. Communication very poor, we have had to chase every step of the way and even put in a formal complaint around 6 months ago. Even after that the service was equally as abysmal. Averaging around 3 to 4 emails before you received a response, being told countless times that they will call back but no one ever calls back. I finally received an offer in November , which was accepted and was advised that I would receive the money within 4-6 weeks, it's now the 11th January and I am still chasing them for my money. I called last week and was told it should have been chased but hadn't been because it was christmas. Last week I was told it had been chased and the cheque had been sent out, as soon as they received it they would call to transfer the money via BACS. That didn't happen so I called them on Monday when I was told it would be 2 days and they would call me. They didn't so I called today to be told they have no idea where the cheque is, it could be with the insurance company (despite being told on Monday it had been sent) or it could be in the post - she was very unhelpful and basically said she didn't know when it would arrive and they will call when it does (which they wont). I am beyond angry at this point, I am going to complain to the ombudsman in the morning. My advice to anyone is do not use them - the year of chasing these people has been more stressful than the accident itself. Carpenter's before you suggest that I contact complaints - i already have (ref 1291556).
