**TERRIBLE SERVICE! TERRIBLE COMPANY!!** After three weeks of them delaying our installment, they set us up with a bad internet connection with very slow speed. Then we paid for their "high speed internet" and it runs terribly slow most of the time. If you're wanting reliable and consistent high speed internet, DONT GET IT FROM THEM!!

Tech was professional during the internet set up and answered all our questions. So far i have no issues with the internet speed, just need a tech to come out and cover up the exposed wire outside which I believe is the fiber optic. Thanks!
Direct's internet service has been very reliable for that last 3 years. Unfortunately their customer service manager Diane is extremely difficult to deal with. I was late 5 days on my July payment and called in a couple months later as I thought they had missed my payment. Apparently they were charging me a late fee because of my late fee so I was getting an additional late fee every month and Diane refused to waive more than one fee.. I will be looking elsewhere for service and will be referring my IT clients to other companies in the future that have reasonable policies and service managers...
We have their fiber and it has worked well for us. Occasional slow downs but overall the most reliable internet we have had in EM and we have been hear 8+ years. We can use multiple devices at the same time.
Next to xfinity, Direct Communications has been the most reliable service I've used for internet service. I have never had to call about my service not working and when i have a question, i dont jave to wait on hold forever and i only need to speak to one person to solve my problem. I'd recommend them to anyone who lives in the Eagle Mountain area.
I love the attitude the staff has. The way they greet you their inspiring smiles As you enter and leave. And during the holidays it's 10 fold. I could not have asked for a better company to work with. Thank you and happy holidays. May yours be as joyful as mine.
I was with Rapidwave for several years and contemplated switching to Direct Communications several times. I was hesitant because I knew they would have to dig under my side driveway to get a line installed. I used the chat a few times and all of the reps were very knowledgeable and courteous. I finally signed up after Rapidwave was acquired and my connection began to be throttled. The techs that came out were very professional and went the extra mile to make sure everything was setup properly. After everything was setup, I was getting a nice 20 down and 2-3 up speed. A couple of days later they sent out a team to dig under the driveway and bury the line. They managed to get the whole job done in just a few hours. After it was done they put all of the decorative rock back into place and did a great job. I would highly recommend them as an ISP for their customer service alone. Having a pleasant experience with the installation and then to have great speeds completes the package. Thanks and keep up the good work!
One thing that I really appreciate about Direct Communications is their technical support. The technicians I have spoken with have been very knowledgeable and friendly. They worked quickly to solve a few small issues I was experiencing. When compared to the big box internet companies, their service was exceptional
I have been with Direct Comm for a year now and overall it has been good. I had some severe issues for the first few months, regular packet loss, internet would cut out every evening, etc. I hated it to be honest. I would get on the Facebook page and report it each time so as to help them figure out the issue. I finally just called in and had them schedule a technician, he came out the next day and fixed my issues and since then I have no complaints! A couple of times I've had an outage, but nothing like I used to have. Overall, thank you for a pretty solid service.
I have had direct communications fiber for 10 years. Our speed has always been great and when an outage occurs as a result of construction they have been quick to restore service. During the quarantine with 5 kids doing work online at the same time we needed to increase our speed and direct communications responded to my call and within an hour my speed was where I requested it. This place is great.
We made an appointment to get a split line (2 internet connections) set up in our home due to renters in the basement. We called a few days later to cancel the appointment due to circumstances changing. When we requested the appointment be canceled the employee said "I'll get the internet canceled" and hung up before we could correct her. The internet was immediately canceled. We called back to explain that was not what we requested, and two different employees we spoke to both stated we had never had an account or service provided with Direct Communications to our address. It was like we never existed. This is the third time they have cancelled internet to our house when we have not requested it. Everytime it takes days before they turn it back on- which affects our work. I have never seen such poor customer service. They don't even deserve a 1 star. I could call and request to cancel the internet on my neighbor and they wouldn't even bat an eye. I have never seen any other internet providers with such poor guidelines and safety procedures (or lack there of) in place. I would change providers if I could but unfortunately they are the only one who service my neighborhood.
Direct Communications is the WORST ISP I have ever had. Even more, they have the worst customer service! Both my husband and I have called several times because we pay $79/month for 20 MB that we NEVER receive. We do a weekly speed test and it comes back any where from .5 MB to 4.7 MB. This is absolutely ridiculous and UNACCEPTABLE! Every time we call, we are told that it is on our end and not theirs. They never offer any suggestions as to how we can get better service. We are under contract for a year and must pay an early termination fee of $200. I already have GIVEN them so much money and they have not held up their end of the contract by providing me with not even decent service! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Great company and great employees. Always willing to help out and gives great support. Super friendly and timely. Great internet service too! Fast speeds upload and download. No issues whatsoever. Love having phone and internet (fiber optic) with these guys! Definitely would recommend. (:
So far so good. Installation was easy and the installer was professional and answered all of my questions. He made things easy. I get quick wifi throughout my house as well.
I would give 0 stars if possible! I called over a week before moving into our new home and was told installation wouldn't be available for 2 weeks. After a few days, I called again to beg for service to be provided sooner, but nothing could be done. Finally, the day of installation comes, and I am told that a technician went to our home, but because the home wasn't finished, they couldn't install. I tell them that we are living in our home and the tech must be at the wrong house. Turns out that the address I provided over the phone was incorrectly recorded by the rep. I'm told not to worry, installation should still be good to go for today. A few minutes later I receive another call from Direct Communications. This time, they tell me that due to the incorrect address, our home is not ready for installation and we will have to wait another 2 weeks. I beg them to listen to my previous calls, because I am certain that the correct address was provided. I was told it didn't matter if the mistake was on their end, nothing could be done. The office manager, Diane, tried to be empathetic, but refused to do anything to help me. As are many people, I have to work from home, due to Covid. My wife is a teacher and relies on internet access from home for classroom prep and will need it this school year for the kids she will have to remotely tutor. We needed a better resolution to this issue than Directcom was willing to provide. There is literally no other wired internet service in our area and Satellite will not meet our needs. I hope another provider becomes available soon, so we can make the change.
They were quick. To get me set up and the installation guy that came for the installation was pollite and clean was very thorough during the install thanks guys
We re new to Eagle Mountain and have never heard of Direct Communications. We couldn t transfer our old provider to the new address and we re very pleasantly surprised with the service. Great speed, perfect for streaming multiple devices and working from home. Install was quick and painless and the customer service thus far has been fantastic.
We love Direct com! Best service in Eagle mountain. We never have outages or anything. We can run an xbox, PC, 2 phones and Netflix all at once. And their customer service is wonderful! Brenda, &, Diane areare alw helpful, Ben helped us out with getting set up! Thanks guys!
On July 6, 2015. I was heading to work on my motorcycle on Pioneer Crossing. Somewhere along the way, I lost my lunch bag. It had about $100.00 in cash, my meds for this month in it, All credit cards, and my keys. I looked for it for about 45 minutes and I didn't see it anywhere. I came back home and at about 9:00 am there was a knock at my door. It was an employee of yours who asked if I was Ben. He had everything, my money, my meds, keys, EVERYTHING! The gentlemen never told me his name just that his father found it on his way to work. I insisted that he take $20.00 for him and his father for lunch that day. He politely refused. I just would like to say thank you for being so honest.
When we went from Satellite to fiber it was night and day for streaming use. When Covid hit and everyone was home with a ton of devices we saw some issues. When we finally replaced a very old home router, things are cooking again. We could have 3 TVs streaming, phones and PCs all working, gaming systems going and no hiccups. I love having Direct Com fiber to the house!
Just bought our first home and needed internet. Called Direct Communication and they were able to take care of me with answering questions, taking all my information, and setting me up with an appointment to have a technician come to my house right away to set everything up. Upon arrival the technician was very respectful, friendly, knowledgeable, and got everything set up in no time!
My wife and i have had direct communications since we moved to eagle mountain. The internet connection is great. However the customer service is terrible and the web site consistently has issues. We have set it up for auto pay four seperate times, and have called in everytime to figure out what is going on. Every time we talk to a customer service agent they refuse to understand our frustration or even to see what may have happend they just explain that it didn't work and there's nothing the can do. They interrupt you when talking, they argue with you. I have worked costumer service for 7 years and if I did any of those things I would have lost my job. Point is direct communications is ok with their employees treating customers this way. Why not just get another internet provider you might ask. Cause they are the only provider in the area.
We had great experience with them. Fantastic & reliable speeds at a very good price. Also no data caps. Wish Direct Communications was located where we are moving to.
Not the best, and it s because Direct Communications is the only fiber internet provider in the area. They honestly need a competitor to come in and put pressure on their lack of enterprise and efficiency, and drive better quality and service to the customers. It s been a month of terrible service and with the monopoly, we have no other options. There is no improvement in their delivery and customer service. Wish they had a better infrastructure. Everyone in Eagle Mountain will jump ship if another provider domes out here.
Every time I ve called for assistance I ve been treated very poorly. I work from home and need stable internet. During one outage I called and the tech support employee I dealt with seemed extremely annoyed to be helping me and was unbelievably disrespectful, denying there was any outage and it was my fault, even though my entire neighborhood was without internet. I had such a bad experience that I wish I could switch providers immediately. I was highly disappointed with the customer service I have experienced with direct communications.
We are really happy with the service that we have received from Direct Communications over the past year. They have provided exceptionally fast and reliable internet for my family and I at a price that is reasonable and fair. In addition we truly appreciate the honest straight forward business that you do.
I've been mostly very happy with Direct Communications Fiber. They've had a few bumps in the road over the past year, dealing with some bandwidth and network issues, but since getting those resolved a few months ago, my service has been rock solid. I must warn that I can't say the same for their DSL service, of which I was a customer before moving to a location with fiber. DSL had many speed and reliability issues when I had it several years ago, and I don't know if that's improved. But if you live in an area covered by their fiber service, it's a no-brainer.
The price you pay for is only for one device if it is hardlined. I pay for the 75/40 package and get 20/20 wirelessly during non-peak hours. During the peak times, it is even worse. They say you aren't sharing speeds with neighbors, but the neighbors can impede your speeds if they are nearby and on the same wi-fi channel (this happens all the time). Don't buy into the false advertising. You will not get what you pay for.
I have had direct communications for the past 4 months and the speed is horrible. I tried to get it of the contract, but the manager advised me that the contract states that the speed can not be guaranteed, which means I can't get out of the contract without paying the cancellation fee. Tech support started that their growth has been substantial that they can't support the speed needed and that they are working on their network. My question is, why do they continue to add customers if they can't provide the service?
Unfortunately Direct Communications has absolutely no competition - not in the good way, as in above all others, but in the bad way, as in no one else to compete in the market. They are completely unapologetic of the fact that if you rely on your Internet connection, they are your only choice.
Don't get me wrong: when it is working, it is pretty fast. Unfortunately it is common that the family has to stop watching Burn Notice in the evening because the download speeds have dropped to 1% of normal and netflix is unavailable. It's probably a good thing that it gets our lazy butts off the couch, though sometimes it gets frustrating, evening after evening, to have a service that should be invisible simply stop working.
I've contacted Direct Communications and their response has always been for me to contact technical services. I've tried that, and by the time they answer the phone or call back, the technical issue is gone and speeds are back up. Occasionally I will find out that they are, "doing work in my area", though it seems weird that it would happen so consistantly in the evening, just when bandwidth usage is likely to peak for households.
If you live in Eagle Mountain, you will get your Internet here, you simply don't have a choice otherwise. The ladies in the front office are fun and sassy, though they aren't well informed of the technical side of the house.
We have lived in Eagle Mountain for 13 years. Before getting connected to Direct Communications, we struggled with a competing WiFi solution. I am a small business owner and use this connection for VPN access to my office frequently. Not to mention the other computers, TVs, phones and tablets that my family has connected. I can't tell you how nice it is to always have the bandwidth that I need for work or home. But the icing on the cake is the customer service. Twice I have stopped in, once during setup, and just recently to get a static IP address. I love the smiling faces and quick solutions. I am a very satisfied customer.
I am updating my review now that I have given this more time and it's gone from 5 starts to 2. Direct Communications not only had a complete loss of service on the day of my virtual interview, but they continue to have drops in service arbitrarily and dont offer much in terms of communication. I have a Google system with very little downtime, so if they pin it on my router, think again! This company is lucky they have a monopoly over our growing city, but when a new ISP with fiber comes in, I will be first to sign up. Tired of the dropped internet and poor communication.
Our only option in Eagle mountain. Very expensive and when I do speed tests I m rarely getting what I pay for. They are terrible with communication when the internet goes out. No one knows what s happening, we all just find out on Facebook or something because everyone is out.
Laughably bad connectivity and service. EXPENSIVE. Will lose half their business as soon as someone competent comes on to town, but I'm sure they have some sort of sweetheart deal with Eagle Mountain to block that from happening.
I wasn't sure I wanted to use this service, but after using it I admit it is really good service. In the past I had companies like Comcast. Every once in a while the service would give me glitches and I would be without internet for a few minutes.
I have family that lives far away and we do often video conference. Imagine the frustration of dropping my VOIP calls or video calls.
With Direct Communication that has never happened, and that is a first for me. The people are nice and we got a tech to our house setting up the internet super fast!.
I know it is only my opinion, but I am sold and I believe your experience will be good as well.
Horrible!!! They basically sucker you in by paying extremely outrageous prices, BUT if you sign a ridiculous contact to get some discount you're really screwed! I was supposed to be a payment arrangement and now come to find I'm went to collections. I never got to use the service or anything... This place is a joke and think they can treat people however just because your options are limited. When a competitor finally comes to eagle mountain, I wouldn't be surprised if this company goes out of business! They are probably only lasting by ripping people off and lying to them. Their manager is super unapologetic, insincere, and staryed laughing like it's funny! Well, after you get a law suit, we'll see how funny it is then.
I wish I didn t even have to give a star. This company is the ANTITHESIS of good business. Their service is poor in general. But their customer service is among the most asinine I ve witnessed. I called multiple days in a row and was promised my service was canceled. After it didn t happen I left a message for the manager. Never heard back. I called again and spoke to the manager who was as equally disrespectful as she was unhelpful. She claimed i had not left a message and she couldn t do anything outside of canceling my service today (and we would still be responsible to pay for service we hadn t used) We moved from the property and had the service transferred to new buyers. This company continued to bill and charge us both. For a service we haven t used!! I called to get it resolved and was met with unhelpful platitudes and outright refusal to make it right. Avoid this company at all costs.
Apparently this woman is the top of the line- and there s no one above her besides the owner who and I quote absolutely does not talk to customers so keep that in mind before you sign up for poor internet service to begin with.
Some hiccups but overall, I'm very happy with my fiber connection. Most of the issues I've had (and others with negative reviews) are specific to router issues. I've used Apple, D-Link, Linksys, and Netgear, routers make a big difference to connection speed and quality. I recommend Netgear Orbi mesh system - bottom line is the cheap <$100 routers just can't handle high speed internet the DC offers.
During the years that we have had direct Communications for our internet provider we have been very pleased. Sure there have been outages here and there but nowhere near the amount with other providers that we have had. We work from home so it is important to have a fast stable reliable internet service and Direct Communications has fit the bill.
WE LOVE DIRECT COMMUNICATIONS!!!! They are fast, reliable, have competitive rates and have great customer service! If you are thinking of switching your current Internet provider then you should definitely check Direct Communications out!
Internet is good, technical support is poor. As long as you don't have any troubles on weekends, holidays, or after hours, you should be fine. Average to other Internet providers across the country. Best option in Eagle Mountain, Utah though.
We've gone with Direct Communications since we first moved to Eagle Mountain 10 years ago. They have always had great customer service and boy when fiber made it to our neighborhood 2 or 3 years ago the speed and reliability have been phenomenal!
My background, I'm the CIO of a technology / services company and deal with computer programming and IT issues on a daily basis. Direct Communications is the best internet provider in Eagle Mountain by a considerable margin. Their fiber network is robust and expansive. Available all throughout the city. The fact that there are no data caps is a huge plus that most people who are unfamiliar with the finer points of internet providers could possibly overlook. I never have any problems with my service. My speeds are consistent and ping rates are always good. Direct Communications would be my first recommendation to anyone in Eagle Mountain looking for internet service.
Don t do it had to cut my internet due to my husband brain tumor because of the extra medical bill yea I got a 794.00 collection bill for a bill and router they won t take back
We like the service that Direct Communications provide. The installation was quick and we never had any issues since then. Five out of five. We got a good discount and there is no hidden fees or anything like that. With our previous provider we had surprises on our bill every other month, DC though seems to be very good about it. Would definatelly recommend this to a friend.
Only option for internet service at the townhomes i live in. It's high speed fiber optic which is awesome! Some mix ups on communication and equipment tho, could have been a bit nicer about the mix up but not a difficult fix.
First of all, I would like to say that we have lived in Eagle Mountain for 13 and a half years, and have been customers of Direct Communications since the day you took over the phone and internet service here. We have been very pleased with the service we have received. A few months ago we were having trouble receiving and sending e-mails and using our internet. We tried to call your office, and realized that we also had no telephone service. Then it dawned on us that we had not received any phone calls recently either. So we used our cell phones to contact your office. Since we are not techies, we began to worry what we had done to ruin the system or what we weren't doing correctly. I think it was a busy day for your technicians, but they arrived in a couple of hours, and found out that there was a problem with the box outside. We were so relieved to find out that we had not been the source of the problem, and that there was a very real problem. That technician did not have what he needed to fix the problem, but he contacted another technician who did, and he arrived in a timely manner and got the system repaired and we were very happy and satisfied customers, It was so good to be connected again.
DC's fiber service is great. You typically get more bandwidth than you paid for. Their reliability is also pretty good. I've only had a handful of outages over the past 5 years. BUT, their customer service is the worst! Trying to stop service is a nightmare. I tried to schedule a stop date and was told they can't do that, and I'd have to call the day or day before I want to stop the service. REALLY? You're a technology company but can't use a calendar?
After finally getting the service cancelled I later found I was still being billed. I was told that the billing is a separate system and they can't access it, and that I would have to go in and stop the billing myself. It would have been nice if they had told me that when I cancelled the service, and again they are a technology company - why can't they do this simple thing?! Next I tried to cancel the billing myself and got a message that said "Sorry, we can't change this customers recurring payment set up at this time". I am still working on getting the billing stopped.
Finally, I asked how to get a refund for the continued billing and was told I would have to speak to a manager, but the manager is at lunch. How can a company so incompetent and technically illiterate provide a major technology service? It's almost comical, but exasperatingly frustrating. Unfortunately it's the only game in town, which is how they manage to stay in business I guess. Buyer beware.
cancelled an Apt scheduled But they still charged my card
Called to get reimbursed Lady Diane said no reimbursement will be issued since it was not noted I asked to speak to someone else since I did call and cancel
Said she is the only one and reports to no one above her And no reimbursement will be done Very unprofessional !!!
We have only been using Direct Communications for a few months and just have the basic package and I have to say its better then I expected. They haven't gotten the fiber optics up for my neighborhood yet, but the quality is decent for what they have and consistent. Also the Customer care is great!
Jordan was the tech who got my house up and running with internet. He was knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and went out of his way to make sure I was up and running and some options I had for setup of my home network. Great guy, great service. Thank you Jordan!
We have it for about 2 years and never had any problems. Yes, sometimes it's slow, but not very bad. We made automatic payments with them and never had problems with lost checks.
I've had internet w/Direct Comm for ~4 years and the service has been great. When I've had questions (techy or otherwise) or concerns, they're addressed quickly. Outages don't happen very often, but when they inevitably do Direct Comm is responsive and they handle it as quickly as possible.
Our service has been excellent and it's always been affordable. We couldn't ask for a better ISP.
After 19 years of super slow speeds in a house with no line of site to anything else, we were finally able to hook up to Direct Communications. All workers where professional and answered all our questions. We are the first to have it in Cedar Pass Ranch. We've had a few drop offs but it beats buffering and that annoying spinning wheel. Thanks to the company for allowing us to be the guinea pig.
Very responsive and helpful people, but their internet services are literally only in"eagle mountain" called out of saratoga springs 5 min away and they don't offer services here
We moved out to Eagle Mountain a few months ago and we were bummed that Comcast wasn't able to continue to service us in our new area. But luckily we found Direct Communications. They stepped up to the plate and offered us a lot more than what Comcast had. With our new Fiber Optic Broadband from Direct Communications we are happier than we have ever been with an internet provider. Fast and Reliable is an understatement! Thanks Direct Com!
I have been with Direct Communications for over 4 years now and have never had a bad experience with anyone that works for them. Don't get me wrong I have had technical issues, and problems that I needed work out and/or fixed. However every time I call customer service or deal with a technician in person they are always VERY polite and take time to help me solve my problem, and get my service back up to par. To me this is what goes a long way with a company. How they treat their customers. Many businesses now a days see an existing customer as a nuisance, and are constantly trying just to get more customers instead of taking care of the ones they already have. Once they get a customer they are just a payment or a number if you will. As a customer of Direct Communications I have never felt this way, and this is exactly how a good business should operate. I will wholeheartedly recommend Direct Communications service to anyone. Thank you Direct Communications for your excellent customer service and superior products you provide.
Just moving to area. Technician could not get it working that day because wiring issue outside home. They got it working the next day and the speeds are incredible.
