I m very sad and disappointed in this company as I have heard nothing but good about them. I was t-boned by one of their drivers who did not pay attention on the road(thank God we were okay) but instead of negotiating a settlement they immediately slammed on me what they deemed was fair, which I believe was fair, what wasn t fair is that I use my vehicle for work (independent contractor) and I only asked to extend the rental I was in for an additional week, to not lose income while I waited for a settlement check, they said no and there was nothing they could do. I am the sole supporter of two children and it was sad to see they didn t care. Their driver hit me!!!

Going down hill like every other money hungry company. Tried to resolve a credit card dispute, I was treated like an idiot. Looking for a new bank with something other than a computer or high school dropout to make a decision.

Brought in my drivers license to be notorized, and they made a copy of it, then told me they re not allowed to make a copy of it, and wouldn t notorized it until I went and made my own copy. They directed me to Fedex and told me to come right back with it, that I still had time before they closed. So I did, cake right back 1 minute after they closed, and the same guy refused to let me in and said come back tomorrow, sorry for the inconvenience. Yeah, I live 40 minutes away. That is inconvenient. This whole visit was inconvenient. USAA (at least this branch) is inconvenient. Man, I feel like getting a whole new bank. You guys suck.

Angela was awesome great customer service.
I was traveling across country and lost my debt card and just happened to be in Texas had to drive 4 hours out of the way so I could pull cash to make it home.
The only downside is that there arent many branches across country.

I am a 54 year member, a former Marine Corps officer and a combat decorated disabled veteran. My children and their families are also members. Until today I have always been proud of my USAA membership.
Then, today I received my USAA Magazine in the mail and I am not so proud anymore.

I just spent 2 1\2 hours in the motor bank in San Antonio Texas on Fredericksburg st. The worst motor bank ever. They need to hire more people. I will never go thru there again. I dont even want to give one star. Ughhh.......... I literally fell asleep in my car waiting. Very unhappy. I hope all the other people that waited in line as long as I did put a bad review as well. Not Happy.

When a bank has more 1 Star reviews than 5 star and they serve almost exclusively service members, that should be a flag. They lead you on this false sense of belonging and membership, and really it s just to gain the loyalty they know comes with the dedication and longevity of a service member. The service isn t the best, with many representatives being unknowledgeable or unhelpful. They outsource their claims for their auto, and my last claim was the worst experience I ve ever had in my life. They even closed it outside their legal timeframe governed by the department of insurance for the state I was in at the time with zero follow up. In such a competitive environment, the question becomes what should your bank be doing for you. At a minimum, my expectation is to be treated like a person with respect and dignity, instead I feel like I'm the member they wish they didn t have.

I have spent hours just doing paperwork including but not limited to providing my DD-214 and more just to become a member. The customer service during this seemingly routine process has been horrendous. As a Navy vet and homeowner you would think they would want my business. But the hoops you have to jump through during their "verification process " are ridiculous.
Just try to ask a question, all you get in response is someone reading straight from the book with total disregard to any question posed.
I can not imagine what it would be like to file a claim. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Been a member for 6 years, I called up for customer service and they hung up on me rather abruptly. Then called back the next service agent was a little better, but could help me do what I needed done. They got some bad apples working there. Hopefully, unlike local police departments they'll do something about their bad apples. If not they're all in the wrong.

Disabled veteran who lives on a fixed income here. I had my card information stolen and I report this to usaa and at first everything was fine but then they determine that my claim wasn't valid. Meaning that somehow I ordered stuff to be delivered to New York when I live in Texas. USAA is either filled with incompetents or thieves either way I'm done with them and would encourage any new members of the military to bank through navy federal.

TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!! I have had an account with USAA for over 30 years. I noticed about 7 years ago that their insurance (especially homeowners insurance) was sometimes triple what other large insurance carriers was. Then about two years ago I noticed a real decline in all of their customer service. But just this month they have finally gone too far. I have had a credit card with the bank for 20 years, it is one of only 3 cards I carry because it has a 25K limit and the other two cards I don't use. So last month I paid the card off, its never been late, and its only been over the limit a few times by a small amount because we use it for our business. With no warning USAA dropped my credit limit to 3600.00. I thought surely their must be a mistake so I called and the EXECUTIVE RESOLUTION TEAM went over my account with me and told me that they also did not understand and that they would have someone review the account and get back to me in 3-5 days. After 7 days, I called and after three attempts got through to them again, explained what was going on and the rep informs me that the reason the limit was decreased was because USAA regularly reviews its accounts and reduces the limits on customers in our to limit THEIR FRAUD LIABLITY. In other words they don't want someone to get my card and charge the full limit and then USAA would be liable for it. THIS IS A FLAT OUT LIE. And even if it was true, wouldn't you think they would at least let you know prior to dropping it? I am a Mortgage Banker with 30 years experience, I don't believe a word of what they say. My credit score is actually about 50 points higher now than it was when they gave me the card to begin with. But I promised them that I would make sure that I told EVERYONE I could about this. I advise all of my clients to go elsewhere for insurance and banking now.

So disappointing... Will be leaving this FUBAR bank soon after many years thanks to poor customer service and the insane illogical hoops they made me jump through to get a USAA insurance check deposited into a USAA account that had to be endorsed by a USAA mortgage holder. Ridiculous!?!?!

Sat in a drive through lane idling gas for over an hour to get a cashier's check. The box that had the forms to pre fill out while you wait was totally out of cashier check request forms, making the process longer for everyone. Do not come to this location unless you are desperate and need something same day.

The on-site drive thru is so slow that I m considering switching banks. You would think that a multi-billion dollar financial institution would have the means to expedite the drive thru in today s climate, but USAA has failed to do so. If you intend to use USAA s drive thru teller/bank services, then arrive 2 hours already and bring several Snickers bars because it going to be awhile...a long while!

It was a little hard to find since GPS took me to the USAA headquarters. Once I found the branch, I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone was incredibly helpful and well versed in how to assist me in what I considered a complicated process. While I doubt I ll need to go back in the future. If I do, I ll do so gladly because of the great service and employees I encountered.

If you get hit by someone with USAA insurance, prepare to get bent over. I got hit recently by a USAA member, and event though she admitted to hit me and accepting fault, USAA did everything in their power NOT TO HELP ME! They really took it to me with no Vaseline. Didn't get enough money to cover the damage done to my vehicle. If I had the money I would've hired a lawyer.

Disappointed in this entity....home insurance, car...

Disappointed in this entity....home insurance, car insurance, loans, and banking. Many years as a loyal customer and the past year this place has gone down hill fast. Last year my spouse had a car accident the claim turned into a mess and we got blamed for the entire accident which jacked my rates through the roof. This isn't just an insurance issue this is a law issue as well. We were well over 60 ft behind the cars in front of us. When there is a ten car pileup on the highway, even following at safe distances your chances of not being involved are slim. Since we were the last to make impact, USAA Claimed we were at fault, having to pay something to everyone involved. For the past 2 months every check I have deposited they have been putting on hold "because they can" I was told. The only way to alleviate it is to mail a check to San Antonio and pray it doesn't get lost or spend more money sending it certified mail. I was told by the banker to have my friend cash my checks and transfer them to USAA...of why can't I tell my employer they need to have direct deposit or the best yet..... maybe I should open a secondary banking account and transfer to USAA....Why should I have more than one account.....oh, because your not loyal to your customers. It is unbelievable to me how this bank has become. I am cutting ties with them and I suggest anyone looking for a bank....don't go here...Don't buy into their false advertisement that they will help you, because they will not you are just a # to them, just a way for them to make money. They don't care about you, they may act like it to suck you in, then they will leave you high and dry.

I've been a member for over 25 years. for the most part I would give them five stars, plenty of issues over the years with phone calls that were resolved with respect and care. I'm only giving four stars however because for the first time I created an investment account, and after transferring money into it and setting it up, there was a notice on the web page that it was going to be transferred to Charles Schwab this year. This should have been disclosed before I created the account not afterwards. I don't feel like this reflects upon USAA as a whole but just the investment business department, but I do feel that was the first time I had a seed of doubt about the integrity of USAA.

I still trust them a lot for their other products / lines of business, but will definitely not consider them for investments anymore.

My husband and I have been a members for about 30yr. Banking, insurance etc. Usaa banking can't be beat in our book and we do have accounts at other banks.... Not all by choice. Usaa catches all fraudulent activity trying to hit the accounts, their online and apps are so good we are never in the drive thru lines and I'm maybe inside the bank 4x a year. If I call any dept they are friendly, courteous, and fix the issue. They have even stayed with me on the phone to make sure I found what I needed on the app or webpage and the roadside assistance didn't hang up from me till they were sure I was ok, safe, etc. Insurance claims, I say usaa and there is no disputes!
All my kids know.... in life, there is one thing you don't give up, and that is USAA!!!

This is difficult to write, as I have been a loyal patron and fan of USAA for more than 30 years. NO MORE. Anthony, in the lobby , IS WORTHLESS, and has only added frustration by not telling the truth. I live in Houston now and have been trying to help my Uncle (in poor health) get into his bank account, as he has been locked out. After many hours and attempts (driving into San Antonio and going to the bank) at helping him with this, I have given up. For some reason, USAA has gotten rid of many military people who used to be in charge. Now Civilians make the decisions. Another USAA employee (Jamal in Florida) said he would get back with me in October, ..... and I'm still waiting. USAA might as well be CHASE or WELLS FARGO.

Been with usaa for over a decade and I can say that they ve never been there for me when I needed them. I was overseas when they mailed my new debit card to my old address (I called to change my address months prior) and when I needed to get cash they actually advised me to sell some of my belongings to get cash in a pinch (since I didn t have access to the debit card they mailed to my old address and I was In another country), when we had a trucks engine become damaged in a flash flood they didn t cover it, and when we were in the process of applying for a home mortgage for a home that was for sale by owner, the home owner called usaa to inquire where we were in the process of the mortgage application, they actually released our confidential info to the homeowner. So, yeah, like I said, they ve never helped us, only hurt us. Looking into Navy Federal instead.

USAA Auto Insurance = INCOMPETENT

USAA Auto Insurance = INCOMPETENT

I used to think that USAA auto insurance was good because the cost was lower, but now i've learned that you get what you pay for! When I got in an accident, they managed to get the basic important facts of my case COMPLETELY wrong, and after I pointed that out to them, they absolutely did not seem to care. I figured maybe they did not believe me, so I even gave them contact information of witnesses and locations of multiple cameras, but they said there was nothing they could do for me. And now, of course, my rates skyrocketed. Great way to treat a 20+ year customer. For some reason USAA does not seem to act like a normal insurance company. Any other insurance company would have been all over any evidence that would allow them to pay out less (or not at all). But, curiously, USAA seemed to do the exact opposite - they were EXTREMELY EAGER to quickly pay out, and without ANY communication with me during the process. They seemed to PURPOSELY disregard facts of the case that would have allowed them to avoid paying out - they never even bothered to investigate. USAA's incompetence and/or laziness will end up costing me a LOT more money than I ever saved on the lower premiums over the years. And thats on top of the 30 grand i've given them over the past several decades (with no accidents btw). They have profited immensley off of me and given me NOTHING in return. Screw you USAA.

BTW, I also think that auto insurance in this country is a complete RACKET. Would someone please investigate this industry, these prices don't make any sense, they are outrageously high, they do not pass the smell test - not even close. How can we ALL be paying SO MUCH?? WHERE IS ALL OF THIS MONEY REALLY GOING??????????

Absolutely horrible bank. They have no branches so everything is online. I set up a teen checking account for my son, but I don't have access to help him set up his pin for the debit. They actually asked him to send in a picture ID to verify his identity. Spent over an hour on the phone talking to 6 different people getting conflicting information before they admitted they couldn't help. Then they refused to even close out the account.

And this was just the most recent of many incidents. Stupid people. Stupid rules to "protect" customers, but they still can't keep their servers from being hacked.

I have been with USAA almost 30 years. They have seen me through deployments, auto insurance claims, home owner claim, provided investment advice, helped with notary service, transferred funds internationally, all without issue or problem. I see the negative reviews from people who have been with them for many years, there is one problem then all of a sudden USAA is a terrible bank. There is NO better bank if you are deployed.

I have been with USAA since 2001, I have had nothing but problems with them. I am currently deployed and they want to send me a code so that I may access me accounts. How are you going to send me a code? Internet barely works, and my pre paid cell phone is an over seas number? So now I can t access MY ACCOUNTS, unless it s online... this is the LAST STRAW, I DO NOT RECOMMEND USAA, to ANYONE, I will be leaving once my deployment is up. Good bye to rude customer service and terrible banking, and hello to a better Credit union. I will NOT MISS Usaa... you lost a very loyal customer, to top it off I couldn t even get a car loan through them, they DO NOT WORK for US, all they care about is YOUR HARD EARN MONEY, well I am finish putting my hard earn money in this greedy bank!!!

I've been with USAA for over 26 years and I can tell you they are not the same institution they once were. It has lost it's personal touch, as it has become a major bank shark. I, personally, can tell you that I have spent close to $300K in interest (mortgages, home equity loans, cars, and credit cards) and then I have to bicker over a $29 NSF charge. Good Riddance USAA!

Clean and bright.
Most employees are friendly and nice.
All employees are well dressed and groomed.
The fountain in the middle is long shut off, looks like a hold stone mound with plants in the base where the water should be.
Only reason for one star lower than 5 is the 3 males in the back corner on the first floor laughing and signaling about talking about different clients coming in and out.
This action by them may be misunderstood by me but it looks bad, the manner they are dressed looks like security but may be just office staff

It does not matter how long a person has been a customer with USAA. USAA cares about getting theirs and with all the financial uncertainties right now, that should not be the case. I have done business with other FCUs and they take into consideration factors such as how long a client has been with them, the credit worthiness, bills paid on time, and they take steps in order to ensure the satification of their customers. USAA does not care! My advice is to go to other FCUs and do not take in account that USAA is giving you their best because they truly are not!

After 4 years I will be taking my accounts elsewhe...

After 4 years I will be taking my accounts elsewhere.

For the majority of us, the only difference we will notice bank to bank is customer service. The service at USAA is nonsensical, convoluted, and tiresome. Might as well go elsewhere

Two separate times I have had my card canceled for "suspicious activity based on geography". I was less than 5 hours from my home both times, simply taking a weekend trip. I shouldn't have to call ahead and let my bank know I'll be traveling within state lines to avoid having my card canceled. Without even a courtesy call, I received no call asking "hey is this you?" just up and canceled my card. What if that was my only access to my finances? They would have left me stranded hours from home with no way to get a hotel room or a bus ticket or anything. What if I was stranded 5 hours from home, couldn't make work the next day and got fired?

The worst part of their support is when you actually need to speak to them. First, you can't even get their phone number from their own app without going through two levels of menu. (Menu>Contact us>View general numbers why not just list your phone number under contact us, like normal people?) Calling in puts you through a long convoluted electronic menu and I end up just yelling AGENT at their prompts until it passes me to someone. Here's where it gets bad. This first person will ask you a lot of questions, you'll have to verify your name, address, email, phone number, and then describe your problem. But this won't be who you need to talk to, the first person can NEVER help you. 0% of the time, without exaggeration. They'll get all your info, pass you along. Not that bad, except THEY DO ZERO INTERNAL COMMUNICATION. They don't talk to each other or communicate, you know, like colleagues who work together do. So you get to this second person and now you have to say your name, address, email, and phone number all over again. And now describe your issue again. Getting worse here, 66% of the time this second person will not be the person to help you either. They'll ask you a bunch of questions and you'll talk about your problem for a while and feel like you're getting somewhere....."sorry sir this isn't the right department I'm going to have to transfer you" I told you my problem at the very beginning? Why did we just talk for 10 minutes about my issue, with you knowing my issue, only for you to tell me you can't help on my issue? So they transfer you again. AND NOW YOU'RE STUCK TELLING A THIRD PERSON THE ANSWERS THAT YOU'VE ALREADY GIVEN THEM TWICE why can't you guys make notes or if you're transferring then speak to the other person first and tell them I'm already verified, make a note on my account what my issue is, or just idk send me to the correct person?

The people who work there are incredibly nice but either USAA exclusively hires people with small amounts of common sense or they instruct them in how to be dumb. I chatted a support agent, told her my problem in the first freaking message, and 15 minutes later she tells me "sorry sir this isn't something I can help with on chat, you'll have to call" You've known my problem for a quarter of an hour, if you know the problem you know whether or not you can help.

I've worked multiple support jobs myself, if my level of work was at the level of their support agents I would have enough self awareness to change careers.

I see one of the top 3 reviews is for some reason "all employees are well dressed and groomed"? Who gives a flying funk?! what is this, 1920? You think the guy with the best combed hair is the best worker or something? Who gives a rats arse if their shirt is tucked in and their hairs all slick if the suck at doing anything for you? You shouldn't even be allowed to leave a review if you're reviewing something that has nothing to do with their business, boomer

Their rates aren't even good, my insurance quote was 66% above state average despite only being in one "collision" which was deemed no fault for me (someone backed into me in a parking lot)

After 10 years of being a loyal customer, 2020 wil...

After 10 years of being a loyal customer, 2020 will be the year I find a new bank. I recently experienced an accident with my credit card which resulted in a substantial fee. Not fully understanding the issue, I called customer support to review options - especially how to prevent similar occurrences from happening moving forward. While doing so, I was told that as a curtesy, USAA would waive the fee. I was further told that I needed to await the fee to post and to call back to then resolve the matter. Upon posting, I called a few days later and a different representative had an entirely different story and was firm that the fee would not be waived. I rebutted their hostile response with my reasoning based on that I was explicitly told conflicting information. I was then met with suspicion, as if I were trying to game some sort of system. I was very put off by this and challenged this associate to initiate a formal complaint which involved pulling the last call to verify that I was given "bad information." I was told this case would be elevated and I would be reached out to directly by some artificially important sounding executive resolution team. Four entire business days later - not a peep. I called again to firmly ask for the status of the situation, and was given a totally bureaucratic runaround that the case was was being reviewed by someone else, and this person will send an email to that person, and they will personally ask their manager to contact their manager to request a status update - blah blah blah. I was literally told that my case has gone through multiple levels of escalation yet not a single person I spoke with has shown any interest in resolving the issue or could assure what to expect next. Again, this is a simple case of being told a fee would be waived and has instead turned into an outrageous carnival game that USAA is seemingly incapable of stopping. I could only relate my experience to the worst-of-the worse past dealings with local state DMV offices. The antiquated, archaic, and rife with red-tape practices and complete absence of accountability has significantly diminished my impression of USAA, and I am no longer willing to be a part of their circus. I've always been an advocate for USAA and I'm deeply troubled that this elementary issue has seemingly stumped the best of their best as associate after associate has been crumbled to a simple customer service issue. I can't trust an organization that folds this quickly with anything of importance.

My account has been locked for over 6 months despite providing all of the documentation needed to resolve the issue. I continue to be charged for vehicle insurance that is unusable because USAA will not communicate with the state that I have said insurance. I've spent over 10 hours on the phone trying to resolve this issue with no luck yet. Up until this issue service/value has been great, but its useless at present. I feel like the only recourse left is filing a fraud claim with the Texas Department of Insurance.

I have been a USAA member since 1999 and have never made any claims against my property. I recently made legitimate claims for damage done to my property from a water leak into my sub-floor and ceiling. Gratefully, USAA took care of the costs, however to our surprise and great disappointment, our policy is getting canceled by USAA, due to our claims. I have been a loyal member of USAA for 20 years this is a slap in the face. I plan on looking into other options for insurance coverage and FIND ANOTHER BANK. In the end, USAA is another thug on the street.

They took a CASHIERS CHECK (Guaranteed form of payment) and Choose to place my funds in hold NOT IMMEDIATELY But the day after the deposit. AFTER I had already been told by 2 separate employees then funds were available as USAA would have placed a hold on the check the same day rather if it was going to be held! Well obviously the lied. They the ended up placing my account in the negative AND CAUSED MY HOUSE PAYMENT AND OTHER BILLS TO BOUNCE. Then find out it was not only 1 hold but 2 so THEY could release my OWN money back to me in INCREMENTS! Even though this check was a long overdue expected payment I had been battling for 3 years yo get after I was scammed by a bad contractor! Then USAA DECIDES THEY GET TO DECIDE HOW MUCH AND WHEN I CAN HAVE ACCESS TO THESE FUNDS! Then tells me they will not make an exception after everything I have gone thru! Well after having had USAA 12 years I will NEVER RECOMMEND OR USE YOU GUYS AGAIN! As soon as possible I am removing ALL my accounts from them and will not return! This is ridiculous. I ve been sitting in line for 50 minutes to get a bank check. They have lines outside for tellers and each car is taking 15 minutes. While one person is walking around helping all of the lanes. Surely y all can come up with something more efficient.

ONE BRANCH in a city of 1.5million people. I dread going to the bank because I know it's going to be a long, slow line EVERYTIME. Everyone is trying to do their banking at the one place available to do it. Confusing business practices from this company.

Wow The google rating for the USAA bank is 2.6. That is terrible. USAA use to be a great company but is just a so so one now. A below average performance. They failed at mutual funds and brokerage services. They lost what the founding fathers envisioned. I do not think they will recover. They tried to be something they could not be. They went for big and huge. A big mistake. Oh well. All good things come to an end. Have your back up banks and insurance ready. Sad they do not conform to federal regulations. Got caught cheating their customers and paid millions in fines. What did they think was going to happen when they hire people that do not have formal education in banking. Go figure. They have turned into a very vindictive and reprisal organization. A manager from USAA told me if you get on their bad side they will rip you a few new ones.

I have been with USAA for about 16 years already....and I have been extremely satisfied with their banking center. Always friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to help set up my daughters accounts as well.

Closing all accounts with USAA. Hope it was worth the little bit of interest you made on my $750!

We can start with the traffic, the lines are about 1-2 hours long (not exaggerating ) on a good day. The bankers are very rude and don t try to help you at all just to get you in and out as fast as possible. To top it all off they don t accept a homeland security work authorization card (DaCa federal document) for a Identification or passports or anything else of that. It must be a Texas ID. I didn t know Texas identification had more power then a federal one.

I have had USAA as my credit card, my insurance, and just about anything else that could be associated with them. I was loyal and credit built to an $11,000 credit card. That was at their offering and not my request. Now I lost a family member my daughter, starting a second job because I'm now also separated, and having generally rough times. After all my years with them and making payments and I even stopped using the card because I knew I was having to play catch-up, they didn't have my back. And if your military in any way shape or form you know what that means. So I'll pay them I'm a man of my word and I'll pay my debts off and I'll find another insurance company and I'll find another place for my financial business and I will not have anything further to do with them. It won't hurt them it's one customer, but it's a customer that will never forget

I was a member for 9 years and my business wasn't honored at all. My account was compromised and my account was frozen and I lost all my money. The fraud department is very rude. I used to not have any problems with USAA but their agents on the phone have gotten less professional. I also found out that I was getting overcharged for car insurance even though I have a degree and a good driving record and have since switched to a better company for car insurance company that is treating me way better.

I had mixed feelings about USAA until yesterday. I was in a financial crisis because of tragic deaths in the family. I thought my business was washed up and bankruptcy was my next option. USAA helped me with a loan to get my Veteran Owned business back up and running! I highly recommend USAA. They might be a little strict but they do look out for veterans like me.

I went to this location to try to speak to someone in person about banking, investing and other services I use with USAA. I have been a customer for years and used them exclusively because I was in the military. Now that I live in San Antonio I thought I could get the same quality customer service as I have online and over the phone.

I was sadly disappointed that the first customer service representative I ran into seemed disinterested with me. It was obvious that his job is just a job and nothing more. I was told everything for investments is done over the phone or online and the only in-person services I could use were for banking. I didn t want to speak to a teller, I wanted to speak to a financial advisor of some kind. Again, I wanted to speak with someone in person because I figured surely the bank location offers the same services they do online/over the phone. I was sadly disappointed to find out they are moving everything to online/over the phone instead of in person. If you are a long time customer like myself, don t waste your time going to this location expecting the same level of service in person as you get over the phone/online. USAA is great for remote banking, disappointing face to face.

Please USAA, don t waste your time replying to this or apologizing. Just fix your face to face customer service. Treat us like you want us to continue banking with you.

Huge demographic in san antonio and only one bank. Love USAA but with all the money they do make they could afford to make smaller branch banks around san antonio area. Get it together USAA.

DO NOT BOTHER! The assumption that the employees are well informed at one of the only remaining brick and mortar locations is incorrect. I spoke to 3 people and not one of them was able to provide the assistance I needed. One provided blatantly incorrect information and then advised that in the future I should just call. As a life long member of USAA I have never been so disappointed in the service I received.

I put my trust and did all of my banking with USAA for 12 years, but today I tried to get an unsecured loan to buy a house at auction, then I was going to take out a mortgage and pay off the loan. They would not work with me at all. Since Covid, they said the max unsecured loan is 5k. They would not listen to reasoning or the circumstances. I spoke with a local bank (Citizens Bank in Ardmore, OK) and not only did they agree to help me, but the process was much faster, and I can get a cashiers check that day in person.

My HVAC system broke down in a monsoon in mid-July...

My HVAC system broke down in a monsoon in mid-July in Tucson, AZ. USAA said they couldn't send a technician for five days. The temperature in my house was a health endangering 110+ in my house. I implored USAA to hire of the hundreds of HVAC techs in AZ but USAA refused. Instead, the USAA rep. asked me to list any chronic health conditions to see if USAA could pay for a hotel room. I said I didn't want to take my 15-year-old dog to a hotel. On July 19, 2018, a USAA rep. wrote the following: "If they are able to confirm that it was damaged from the lightning and was not due to the units age I will be able to approve this and issue payment less your deductible." Based upon this promise, I replaced the HVAC system and paid for it myself. I provided proof the damage was monsoon related, and not due to the age of the system. USAA denied my claim. The rep. cited a report from an out-of-state company that there was nothing wrong with the HVAC except lack of refrigerant. This conclusion contradicted the findings of two independent, licensed HVAC contractors in Tuscon as well as myself. USAA's net income for 2017 totaled $2.4 billion, up from $1.8 billion in 2016.

Wow so many of these reviews are bad. That is not my experience at all. Usaa has provided me with the absolute best service imaginable. All of my issues have been resolved when I call them, the full coverage insurance I have and my mom had has always taken care of me. The prices are fair and I'm so thankful I come from a family able to join Usaa. Thank you so much for helping me and giving me the best service!
