Absolutely love this company. The quality of the dvd when I got it back was perfect. The customer service sends you periodic emails to let you know the progress of your order. Loved that. Received the dvd back earlier than expected. No worries with this company.

Although I had to return my vhs tape to Southtree for a second attempt to have it converted onto dvd, it was worth it. They were very kind and friendly and totally supportive throughout the entire process. I was provided a packing slip so I could describe what went wrong initially, along with a prepaid Fedex shipping label. I sent my tape back on Tuesday, they received it on Thursday and assigned it to a lead technician and returned it back to me in roughly one day's time. Now, I have the perfect professional quality dvd I dearly wanted for so long. I will treasure my dvd for the rest of my life.

I have used Southtree for 3 different projects and they have always delivered a quality product in a timely fashion while keeping me posted the whole time of the process. So no need to worry about your precious memories being lost or destroyed. Get your tapes and videos digitized before they are damaged or deteriorated! I waited too long on a couple of mine and despite Southtree's best efforts, the resolution was not too good on one tape. My fault...not theirs.

I will use Southtree on all my future digitizing projects.

I don't understand how Southtree can be so careless with people's assets...

I sent in about 550 negatives and 50 prints that represented memories from 20 to 30 years ago. After a reasonable wait, getting some status updates along the way, I received my order and assets back. Well... some of it.

They had misplaced all the prints and 141 frames of negatives. To add insult to injury, they sent me someone else's negatives along with scans of those negatives. So that's 2 strikes. The 3rd strike was the poor quality of the scans. It didn't look like they made any attempt to remove dust from the negatives before scanning and they didn't follow through on their promised 12 megapixel scanning. My scans were all about 1.5 megapixels. Very grainy. :-(

So I informed them of the error and poor quality scans and sent the other people's negatives back. Lo and behold, I received my lost negatives and prints back today. I wonder if the person's whose negatives I received got mine. Thankfully, they sent mine back to SouthTree.

Alas, the scans I received of my found images were even worse than last time: still only 1.5 megapixels and the scans of the prints all had a line running down the scan (like in a worn movie film). I dropped one of my photos into my HP All-in-one scanner/printer/fax machine and got a better result. Oh, and I received 8 scans of someone else's negatives.

You would think that a simple protocol like allowing only one customer's assets at one time at a scanning station would prevent these losses and mixups.

I'll be asking for my money back. No way will I risk my photos and negatives again.

I needed 19 Hi8 tapes converted to DVD and electronic files. Southtree was very professional and kept me in the loop from the time they received my tapes to when the DVDs, data files, and original tapes were shipped to me. I am very happy with the end product and my family actually watches and enjoys these memories instead of having old tapes collect dust in a drawer. I would highly recommend Southtree!

Sent out 4 old VHS tapes for conversion to DVD. Came back quicker than I expected and nicely labeled, etc.

I came across some old video tapes that I had no way to view. I sent them into Southtree and received great quality CDs back in a few weeks. The cost was great, the quality was great and the time frame in which I got my product was amazing! Loved Southtree and will definitely use them again and I highly recommend them.

Very disappointed. Sent 10 tapes to be converted. Got back 10 DVDs but some of them only play for about 30 seconds and then go black. Also, the flash drive is full of someone else's movies. Not happy at all.

Sending all of my 8mm tapes to Southtree to convert to DVD was one of my best decisions. We had no means to play the tapes anymore, so I looked into tape conversion and saw the great prices from Southtree. I was very skeptical about shipping all of my 32 tapes, but they arrived safely and I received an email notification from Southtree. I was able to follow the progress on line and received the DVDs earlier than expected and the price was great! We spend the holiday break watching the DVDs. The quality and sound was great and we enjoyed reminiscing!

I was nervous about just sending my old family movies across the country to an unknown place. My worry was unfounded.
The process, communication and the people at Southtree all exceeded my expectations.
I'll be sending the rest of my old movies to them as well.

Recently used Southtree with a Groupon to have 9 VHS tapes converted to DVDs. Am very happy with this company! I made a mistake while ordering and they corrected my order at NO COST to me! Using the Groupon was a bit challenging but a direct call to Southtree was all it took to clear things up. Their customer service is AMAZING - I didn't think there were companies like this anymore. I read some bad reviews after the fact - not sure what they were about as I have only had very positive experiences with Southtree. I was NOT in a rush for my order - maybe that's the difference. Would recommend and use them again!

This company is a scam. I purchased a groupon voucher which took a few weeks to use. The voucher didn't coordinate with the deal offered, and every time southtree said they fixed it I chad to call again because it would not work. Finally, it worked, and I sent in my childhood VHS tapes. Then they called and said I need to pay the remaining shipping. Great trick to get people's credit card information. The box arrived, and good thing I didn't sit down with my family. It is someone else's videos. There are men dressed in drag and getting high on the video. Not only is that bizarre, but did someone else get my childhood videos? I can't even get soutthree to call me back since they don't even answer their phones. I sent to emails, but I still haven't heard anything. I notified groupon of this scam and got a refund from them, but overall this has been a terrible experience.

I think I had a good experience my first time using this company. I look forward to using your service again shortly.

Southtree did a great job at transferring my family movies from VHS to DVDs! I had many questions that were answered quickly and with much patience. They were very friendly and courteous. I especially appreciated the updates by email informing me of the step by step process and where my order was in the process. I received the DVDs quicker than expected. Well, I'm 65+ days in and nothing back yet...I can update with more info. It took about 3 weeks to even get acknowledgement of the order. I will say that recently, I get automated 'feel good' emails that my items are 'in process'. However, that doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy. I had an 'expedited' card that was to provide service in 5-6 days. My emails I get are basically like "Bob ate a sandwich and he's thinking about the box of tapes you sent in" Update. The next email is "The box of tapes moved from the left side of Bob's desk to the right side" I mean seriously? I tried chatting with rep and there is really no help to be had. Paid a lot of money and was sold snake-oil and now concerned with all of the terrible reviews, they may close up shop and I will never see my tapes again.
The excuse is Covid. Covid. Covid. I've done video transfer before. You literally don't need to be anywhere close to anyone else.
You know, this is their entire business model. To take memories from people and preserve them. Not make new ones. The new memory I have is the pain and suffering this whole experience has been. Ridiculous!

Southtree is a wonderful, honest company. I was emailed every step of the way which made me feel confident that the job was getting done. My DVDs are great and my originals were sent back in the same condition they rec'd them in. I will absolutely use Southtree again as I have more tapes to be converted to DVD.

I was kept informed regarding the status of my order at each stage, which I appreciated. It took awhile to receive my order, but the tapes were just sitting in a drawer at home anyway, so it was progress. Received my CDs and originals in good condition. Reputable company and I would recommend.

Our camcorder took the little VHS tapes. I would record and then never transfer the tapes (big mistake) because our camcorder broke and we have all of these tapes sitting around not knowing what was on them. I put a post on Facebook looking for someone to transfer them with no luck. then I found Southtree and I sent only 1 tape just to make sure I would get everything back. I got what I ordered and my tape back as well. we couldn't wait to watch what was on it. we are very pleased and I am getting ready to send more to be transferred.

To be fair, I have no comparisons to any other company. This is the first of my experience and I was apprehensive because I sent in our very first precious moments dating back to 1988. The process is so easy. Everything comes to you in a box that you send back to them that you get back with everything you ordered. All our old videos were bar coded. We got regular emails showing the progress of our order. You get an email when it s done, shipped and arriving! Such a thorough company that was able to place my anxiety on hold. And the quality of our order was absolutely more than what I expected. The company even warned me about 2 of our videos that might have issues and yet they were able to transfer them onto our thumb drive with success. I was so pleased with their process that I doubled my next order. I have had no negative experience. Yes, give them a try. And prices are very affordable for this retiree!

So glad I found this company. I had 30 MicroDV tapes that I recorded when my kids were between 1year and 8 years old. They are now 19. I converted 30 of them and now I have hours and hours of treasured moments that the whole family enjoys.

I was nervous to send off my VHS tapes to be converted to DVD. Some were 25 years old and could never be replaced obviously if lost. I am happy to say Southtree took the utmost care, updated me all along the process and the quality is terrific. I have used them twice now and will definitely use them again.

I had our family VCR tapes put onto discs, something I've been wanting to do for years. Then I made copies and gave them to our 3 daughters for Easter. They all cried! I recently had my old VHS tapes and audio tapes converted to DVD's.. I honestly didn't think they could be restored.. Although I haven't had the time to review all, the ones I have are priceless!! Converted my wedding VHS tape to DVD. Southtree was very professional. They handled my item with care. I received emails during the process which stated what stage my order was in which was very helpful. I received my item back faster then expected. I researched several different companies before choosing Southtree. I am very happy that I decided to use them. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone!

To date I have had a VHS tape converted to DVD plus extra copies made. The DVD came out exactly like the original VHS tape. Since I was so satisfied with that I then sent in two 3" reels of old super 8 film that was 35 years old. I received the DVD this week and was extremely pleased with the way it came out. I still have many more reels to send in. Once I started using them I began to recieve emails with discounts, some with savings over 50% per order. I use those savings to send in the next batch to be converted. What I liked best with this company is the way they stayed in constant contact with me while they were processing my order. I received an email telling me the order was received, an email telling me it was assigned to a technician, an email telling me what state of process it was in each step of the way. My first order did not have the extra copies I had ordered. I immediately sent an email and within 2 hours I had a response with the solution and received my extra orders promptly. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to convert their film or VHS tapes to DVD.I am not sure I will convert any photos or audio simply because I don't have much but I will certainly continue to send in my film for conversion.

Southtree did a fabulous job of transferring VCR tapes sometimes from 25 years ago to DVDs. One tape, in particular, was cherished by the family because it contained so much candid activity by family members, three of whom are now deceased. The tape fluttered badly and the color was completely washed out. Southtree restored it so the flutter was gone and the color was vivid and true to life. The process takes over a month but we had been sitting on the tapes for years. We were informed of the progress as it went along and were very pleased to get the tapes back with DVDs coded to each of them. I am amazed that such great work can be done for such a modest price.

I had a great experience with Southtree. My home movies were made into DVD's and digital copies much quicker than I expected. They were able to salvage my movies and the picture and sound quality are great. I would definitely use this service again.

They have really gone down hill . They messed up a huge order and you cant event talk to a human to fix it!
They keep charging you for an online storage event if you cannot connect to it

I sent off 10 VHS tapes to be converted to DVD and I received them so much faster than I had anticipated and the quality is great. I loved watching them and hadn't been able to for years. Thank you Southtree for preserving my memories.

I sing in a group that uses several cassette accompaniment tapes. They are such a hassle to mess with while trying to cue them, etc. so we thought we would try just one cassette to have converted to a CD. We were pleased to find the quality of the CD was very good. We received the CD and original cassette back before the estimated date which was a plus. We are planning to send all of other cassettes to Southtree very soon.

While it was scary to part with my treasured family VHS tapes, Southtree did an outstanding job, staying in communication throughout the entire process. Additionally, they were timely, finishing slightly before the targeted date and effective, recreating my beautiful memories into a better e digital format. I plan to use them again in the near future.

I sent my VHS tapes to Southtree this summer. Their tracking system listed it as March. I called to alert them and spoke to very polite representatives, but for several months, they couldn't find my order at all. I was told it was finally located and processed. Today, I got a box in the mail. It is not my material! I now have material that belongs to someone else by the last name of "Smith," and I have no idea where my precious family memories are. It's Friday after the close of business, so I can't even contact them to let them know. Use this company at your own risk!

This isn't a cheap service however, it is convenient and easy to use. I had 21 home videos converted to CD and flash drive. I wish the long videos that had to be done on multiple disks due to space, we're labeled like 1&2&3. I was unsure if they were additional copies or continuations. I had to write on the disc myself at that point. So I think with that price tag it should include even all the little things. It's not like your dealing with customers directly but instead providing valuable service to ensure memories are passed from digital generation on to digital generation. Also, the quality of the videos from the 90's were just as they were on the VCR tape. Probably not much can be done about that but it would be nice if they could have been digitally enhanced.

Had them convert 11 Hi8 tapes to DVD and also to .mp4 on a flash drive. It took about 5 weeks from order to delivery of the media which was great especially during the holidays. The only issue is that each video shows interlacing throughout and I am now having to use software to slowly deinterlace each file. The price was great but the finished product could have used just a few minutes more to clean up the video. A minor annoyance for myself but for most people paying for this service it may be unacceptable. I hope that they can correct this issue moving forward and keep their clients happy.

This is the second time I have used Southtree's services. I was just as pleased the second time around as I was the first. Both times I had 8mm film converted to DVD. These films are 50+ years old and helped my parents relive a time gone by. Thank you Southtree for giving them the gift of memories!

After being impressed with their user-friendly website, I sent Southtree some 60-year-old film we found in my mother's cupboard. Communications throughout the process were excellent, as was the quality of the digitized film. It turned out one of the canisters I sent in was undeveloped, and they even helped me find a place to develop it. I would absolutely recommend this company.

Southtree was great! They transferred several cassette tapes and video tapes for me. The quality was good and their communication was great! They give updates and information about the process so that I wasn't wondering what was going on.

I discovered Southtree from an Amazon Local solicitation. We have (had) hundreds of hours of video on VHS and 8mm Video stashed away in a drawer with no way to view or for that matter archive. (Both players died years ago from non-use!) Tried a couple conversions with Southtree and was very pleased with the whole process. Bit the bullet and converted the whole library. Glad I did. My wife and I have spent many joyful hours reviewing the videos of my son's first tee-ball game and my daughters first steps, and were only on the first of 50 discs. GREAT job Southtree. Fabulous service. Excellent quality Superb communications of the process. Will definitely use again and recommend.

Such a great experience! Southtree was fabulous from beginning to end. I would highly recommend using Southtree for your experience in transferring your memories to cd format. They kept me informed of what they were doing every step of the way. I have a couple more VHS tapes that I have misplaced, but when I find them, I will use Southtree again.

I had several VHS-C cassettes of my daughter when she was a baby. (She's now a teen.) I wanted to have them converted to digital and found Southtree through a Groupon Deal. Their reviews were good and I gave them a try. They communicated every step of the way from arrival of my tapes to delivery with a tracking number. I chose DVD's and a editable version also. Very pleased and it was so nice to sit back and rel-ive those memories of our baby girl. It also was great not worrying if the tape was going to get eaten by the machine since DVD's are so much more user friendly.

Southtree really exceeded my expectations. We sent seven VHS tapes to Southtree to have them converted to DVD. Some of these tapes were so grainy and noisy when played in our VCR. Southtree did an excellent job remastering the tapes into DVD. The sound quality and picture quality were improved tremendously. Currently, Southtree is working on some 8mm tapes that we sent out. We have no doubt that Southtree will do an excellent job.

EDIT: I received the DVDs from the 8mm tapes. Southtree has done well again. Picture and sound are great and the memories will last. Thank you Southtree. Keep doing the great work!

I had a very disappointing experience with Southtree. I sent them nearly 1000 well-preserved, carefully stored professional negatives to be scanned. The scans were all absolutely unusable. Dust spots on every scan. All scans had cropped off the top of the negative leaving heads cut off. Some scans were reversed, i.e. they scanned the negative with the emulsion side of the film facing up instead of down.The strips of film I sent to them preserved in plastic sleeves were just dumped, unprotected, into envelopes upon their return.

When I brought these problems to their attention, they did not care and said that dust was typical of their work. I have since sent the job to another scanning service in the hope that they have higher standards than Southtree. They returned $100 of the $250 I paid.

Stay away. This slick looking company doesn't even list that it doesn't copy Beta Cam tapes. It says it copies Beta, but doesn't simply specify this small but important exception.
I mailed in three Beta Cam tapes and a few weeks later I got an email telling me they couldn't copy them. So I called in and asked for 2-day UPS shipping to get my irreplaceable tapes back to me as quickly as possible. The agent said no problem, charged my card, and I thought I was all set. Two days later, no package, only an email telling me I would have the package in 4 more days.
So I called and spoke to a supervisor. She apologized profusely, promised an email follow up that day...nothing. No email, no call. Just a bunch of smoke and mirrors.
Stay local, walk your tapes/photos in to a reputable store. Don't ship it to these people.

Great company! Great customer service, I love getting all of the updates about the progress of my videos as they are turned into DVDs. Quality of my dvds were great and they labeled them just as I had asked. You get all of your originals back to you in the exact condition you shipped them in as well! Shipping was fast and prices are decent. I used an Amazon Local deal and then ended up purchasing even more dvds thanks to their half-price deal during checkout for additional dvds! Overall a great buy and would definitely purchase from them again in the future!

This company is HORRIBLE!!! They received our films and payment on December 10, 1914. Today is May 11, 2015 and I've still NOT received our order back. I received an email in April saying it was to be shipped, but discovered later that it never left their facility! I've spoken to dozens of people, including their head of customer service (several times). I keep getting the endless run-around, every person promising to get back to me and tell me what the hell is going on!!!!! I HAVE NEVER HAD A SINGLE RETURN CALL IN RESPONSE TO MY NOW DAILY CALLS TO THEM!!!!!! I am VERY anxious and worried about the status and present condition of my precious films. They were paid over $!000.00 for converting my films to DVD.........They've had my money since December of 2014.....and I still cannot get anyone at Southtree to tell me the truth...or tell me anything at all!!!!!!

Organized and proficient in production of digital media conversion from mixed analog media sent (8mm film, VHS, VHS-C, 8mm video, and audio tape).

Quality work to copy 8mm tapes to DVD. The process takes a long time, however Southtree provided regular correspondence to keep me updated on the process. The end result was worth the wait and the DVD's are high quality. Recommend Southtree to anyone that would like to recover memories from old tapes.

Southtree was WONDERFUL! I was a little hesitant to send my videos...what if I never saw them again...They kept in contact with me all the time, let me know when to expect my DVD's, and got them back to my is a relatively short amount of time. The DVD quality is great. 5 stars in my book!!!!

They told you step by step what was going on. That was a surprise that they care that much about their customers to let them know that. When I got the DVD it was better than I thought it could be. I watched the VHS I sent them and it wasn't all that great. They can work wonders with your VHS tapes. I will do business with you again. I need to go through all my old tapes to see witch one I want done. Their prices are good too. Thank you for being a good honest company.

I was pleasantly surprised that the quality was so good. My tapes were 13 years old and were beginning to skip. The shipping was made easy by Southtree. The videos were returned in reasonable time. I would definitely use them again.

Service was quick, quality was great and price was fair. One of the VHS tapes (from our wedding in 2000), was not rewound all the way, and was converted to DVD in the same format (i.e. starting from the middle). That is on me for not checking prior to sending it in, but maybe for future customers you can shoot them a quick email to make sure that location on the tape is where they wanted to start.

Sent 11 tapes to Southtree to be put on DVD's. They did a fabulous job and I have enjoyed watching the memories we have made. I highly recommend Southtree if you are wanting to the same with your tapes. They keep you up to date through the whole process. Could not have been easier. Thank you Southtree!

The company was responsive to my inquiries about the status of the job. All the pictures were scanned correctly and the originals were returned in perfect condition.

THEY LOST MY FILMS

I have used this company's film transfer services twice. The first time I was impressed by their system for scanning and reporting the progress of film transfer, and the results were excellent. The second - and final - time, I planned to gift my spouse several transferred films from his childhood. The short story is I sent 20 films and received 17 back; the three missing films were not transferred first, so they are gone for good. I strongly suspect that the tech processing my films ruined them and didn't report it. The company initially showed concern and remorse and promised to "get to the bottom of this." I was promised they would ultimately contact other consumers whose films were processed at the same time, to see if they were mismailed. Gradually Southtree's contact decreased, with a final "let me know if there's anything else I can do for you," sentiment. When I told them they could refund at least a portion of my payment, I was ignored. I implore others to reconsider using this company and be advised that Legacy Box is part of the same group. Irreplaceable films containing memories of lost days are too precious to be mishandled with no consequences on their part.

I received my welcome brochure and begin applying barcodes to my items. Then I noticed a discrepancy between my welcome packet and my shipping label and barcode sticker brochure. My welcome packet indicated 50 pictures equaled one barcode while the other information listed 25 pictures as 1 barcode. When I called Southtree they apologized for the inconvenience and said yes they knew the welcome brochure was incorrect. They were working to correct it. I could however use a barcode and for an additional $15 process 25 additional pictures. My experience can improve from this point forward.

When you send pictures from 50 years ago to someone you have no idea how they handle things can be a little scary to say the least. Southtree kept me informed every step of the way and let me know that they were handling my memories with love and care. I got an email stating that they received my pictures, one saying that they were beginning processing another when they shipped them. What a great experience. I really can not say enough about Southtree. The Quality of their work is far and away better than anyone else on the market. I sent slides from 1964 to them and they came back with a disc of pictures that look like I took them yesterday. I will use them again in the near future as I gather more pictures to be put to digital medium. My hat is off to you Southtree, what a company.

I worried about the service,I didn't want to lose my tapes, I was very happy with the way I was notified as each step of the process took place. I am very happy with the CD's that I received back. I will be sending more in to be processed.

Just what I have been searching for. I have many hundreds of old Super 8 film with audio, Hi-8 videos, and mini-DV tapes. I have sent a few out to test the capabilities of at least 6 conversion facilities. Each time I was disappointed and the search continued - for the last 11 years.

This last year a friend told me about Southtree. I sent them a handful of old Super-8 tapes and waited anxiously to see the results. When they arrived I immediately put them on my computer to test the quality and within a few minutes took a big deep breath to celebrate. Southtree was a success!

I have since sent in hundreds of tapes. One shipment had a few glitches and they immediatly took the shipment back and fixed the errors - all inside a very acceptable time frame.
I found what I was looking for and am totally satisfied. Thank you Southtree.

I was so skeptical to "send anyone our priceless videos to get them digitized". I researched companies and like the Southtree system best. I called their customer service and quizzed the rep about resolution of the scans and decided this was the best place to have this done. I ordered the "kit" and it came with amazing detailed instructions. It was a sturdy box, inside of a box, with instructions, stickers etc. The way it works, when the box arrives, take your tapes and put a sticker on each one, starting with #1. When all the tapes have stickers, place them inside the inner box in order and then go online to Southtree /label and individually type in the name for each of the labels for your DVDs you are getting (if you want DVDs also). Place the box back inside the outer box, tape securely and peel off the pre-printed shipping label (yes, the order comes with shipping pre-paid and the label pre-printed), then send it through UPS to Southtree. When they receive your box they will email you, when they start scanning they will also email you, when the ship it back they will email you...always staying in touch with you.
When you receive it back, the DVDs will be all labeled and you will have a thumb drive that will have all your scans or videos on it. I sent 48 tapes the first time and after reviewing them I sent 48 more as well as some old reel to reel tapes.
Watching the old videos from the thumb drive was so amazing. I hadn't seen them for 15 or 20 years. My wife and I sat with smiles on our faces and tears in our eyes seeing our 4 little kids grow up before our eyes.
As soon as I get the next videos back I have 3,500 slides to send off...

Took my memories and lost them. Duped my wife into giving them more money. No customer service number. Scam. Tons of reviews are positive because they are fake.

I've had an old audio reel to reel tape from the 60s and cassettes from the 80s processed by Southtree and each experience was flawless and well communicated as each step progressed. Great packaging and finished product. All originals returned in pristine condition. Excellent company to work with in all aspects of service.

Had them convert 4 VHS Tapes to DVD... Great Job and the turn-around time was great also.... Going to use them again on some other Audio Reel to Reel that my Dad & Grandfather recorded over 50 years ago..... Definitely Legit & Professional!!!!

I ve been holding onto old videos from when my 33 & 33 year olds were babies. Sent them into Southtree and it has made everyone SOOOOO happy!!!! What a beautiful job they did.

I sent 35MM slides to be transferred to digital format. Their website said it could take up to 6 weeks to get them back and I was pleasantly surprised to get them back in less than 2 weeks. Well, I was pleasantly surprised until I viewed the pictures. They were blurry, out of square, the color had not been corrected (as advertised on their website), etc.--in short, the quality was horrible. I contacted their customer service department and was told to send them back, which I did. They redid the slides on CD and sent them back. The quality was much better. Unfortunately, of the 376 slides that I sent, they only digitized 310 of them. Again, I contacted customer service and sent them back for all 376 to be put on CD. When I received them, only 242 slides were on the disk. I sent them back yet again, and finally, when they arrived, all 376 were on the disk and the quality was good.
It took this company 4 tries to get it right. The ONLY reason that I gave them 2 stars instead of just 1 is because the customer service people were very courteous. With the frustration and bother of having to send my slides back 3 times, I can't really recommend Southtree.

Video quality was unacceptable. Notified the company and customer service was on the issue right away. They offered a refund or a re-do of the films at no cost. I would use them again as they stand by their product and do the right thing to make things right when they go wrong.

I sent quite a few tapes that started in 1992. I was extremely satisfied with how they turned out. You are also great about sending me status updates.

Absolutely recommend!! I have a DVD recorder but it was taking a LONG time to transfer the VHS tapes myself. I saw a great price for Southtree on Groupon and decided to give it a try. I sent in 12 VHS home movies and was terrified to mail off such valuable memories, but they sent emails every moment to keep me updated on the status of my precious memories. I was notified when they were received, when they were scanned/barcodes created, when they were transferred to DVDs, and when they were shipped back to me. Everything arrived back safe and sound! The turnaround time was also very quick!! Definitely impressed and recommend this company!!

I found SouthTree through a Groupon. I decided to try their services and am so pleased I did! All of the old VHS and small camcorder tapes that have been sitting around for YEARS have now been preserved in digital format. It's been truly enjoyable sitting down with the kids to watch some of these old memories that we had all forgotten. The process was easy and I received email updates on the progress of our order status, which was completed far sooner than originally estimated. Well worth it!

I sent Southtree 48 videotapes to transfer to CD's and flash drives for our family. I was more than thrilled with the results!! Videos were easy to prepare and send, properly transferred, easy to identify which was which, and they are of good quality -- and the turnaround time was less than 30 days! Another company I worked with previously took repeated calls and over 6 mos to return an order to me, so I was delighted this experience was soooo much better! I will use Southtree for all my video and film to DVD and flash drive processing in the future. Still have my parents' archives to go!

I would give a zero if I could. Stay Away! Go with someone else. Lost my Memories!

I sent in my in-laws movie reels from the 70s, received by Southtree on July 19, 2016. Yes that is not a typo. 2016. It is 540 days later and my order is somewhere in another dimension. LOST. Southtree customer support has not been helpful at all. No path to resolution. No true apologies. No proactive responses. No followup unless I complain either via email, phone or social media. I ALWAYS have to email/poke them to see if they are doing something to find my memories; they are not.

I have emailed both founders (Nick & Adam). No surprise, no response. I have dealt directly with 4 different CSRs who supposedly have been assigned to my case (that is just their Customer Service-speak for giving the perception of working on resolution.) I have tweeted to them, and they will eventually say "We are working our best to try to find them." Then they respond with "Do you have a tracking #?" "Do you have a picture of the movies?" Are you kidding me? Why should I take a picture of my movies that I am sending to a company "that handles memories with care and concern"? B.S. Southtree is a poor excuse of a company.

They simply do NOT care about their customer's memories. If they did, they would attempt to build a path to resolution. They do not even do Customer Service 101 by saying "Hey, we will call/email/communicate with you every week to give you an update (even if there isn't an update.)"

Do not send them anything. They will lose it. However, if you do and you get your beloved and irreplaceable memories back, then consider yourself lucky. I will continue to publish my horrible experience with Southtree until my movies are found. I will not go away by being ignored by Southtree.

Sent 900 slides and all came back on 2 cd's and it is great to be able to look at them again. Will use again

I recently sent 13 VCR tapes to be made into disks and I wanted 2 copies of each. Southtree kept me updated on the process every step of the way with e-mails....I was never left wondering what was going at any time.
My tapes and disks were returned to me with matching code stickers and I was thrilled at not only the process,but also with the professionalism and value of the entire experience.

This was the best gift I ever did for ME! I took all my old tapes and VHS FROM 87-2007 and had them transferred to DVD. They send you a box and it s so easy to send it all back. It s super fast too! Should have done it years ago.

Very professional service!! I dealt directly with Chloe and her team.They converted my PAL video to region free DVD. An important note I have to make is the PAL video quality wasn't very good, however they managed to clean up the video color and "noise". They were very attentive, and we had great communication during the entire process. I would highly recommend this company!!

Totally impressed with the quality of work done by Southtree. They kept me informed each step of the process and the return shipping was prompt. I was so impressed I have since had several reels of Super 8 processed. Even an audio tape that was 50 years old came out fantastic. Cant say enough good about these folks. True professionals.

Couldn't convert camcorder disks to full-size DVD. Complete waste of my time. Order mis-shipped. Disaster. Two months of calls.

Had a tape from an old camcorder for about 13 years and found this company online. Figured I would give it a shot and see what was on that tape. We got over an hour of different footage that was forgotten about and almost lost. I am very pleased with the results and the company was easy to work with, providing many updates along the way as the order progressed. I am now looking for more tapes to send in!

Send all your vcr tapes, camcorder tapes, 8 mm, etc. to Southtree and they will send you all your media back plus a dvd of your family events. It is a great service. We have had fun watching the old videos that we couldn't even view anymore because the equipment is obsolete. I had some questions and they responded quickly and courteously. Southtree is very professional and their customer service can't be beat!

I had a rather large (ahem) VCR collection. Donating most of them was easy...except for the family videos. Those are treasures and unplayable in the current format. Southtree to the rescue! The communication at every stage of the process (thank goodness I knew they arrived safely!) was key in making me comfortable during the process. Southtree is professional, and provided a good quality product. I will use them again.

I am so happy that I found Southtree! I have been trying for years to transfer tapes to DVDs. I tried many different options but nothing worked out. I packaged up all our tapes, took them to UPS and sent them on their way to Southtree with a prayer and fingers crossed. Southtree let me know when they arrived and kept me updated through the entire process. I sent them during the Christmas rush and still received them in time for Christmas. They were perfect! We enjoyed watching them Christmas morning while opening gifts (well my husband and I enjoyed it, our boys thought some parts were embarrassing!) I highly recommend Southtree and would use them again and again.

This is the only place I would use for transferring movie reels, vhs tapes and hi8 tapes. I sent it my Mom's movie reels and then I sent in all of my old tapes. I loved their website and felt safe sending them all of my tapes. They kept me updated and when I did call with a few questions before I ordered they were very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Everything turned out great and I got some copies made for Christmas gifts too. I saved alot of money by buying a certificate on Groupon. I will definitely reccomened them to all my friend.

I sent 2 VHS tapes bought in Europe some 30 years ago which have been used numerous times. Both tapes were really damaged so it was impossible to watch anything. Southtree digitalized both tapes, the best they could. I am very pleased with the result and will definitely recommend their services.

Slowest Service in the world it took 6 months to convert vhs to dvd

I sent 20 super8 cartridges, took about 8 weeks before I received them.
I should have requested to save them on a mem stick. Company offered to change return the disks and they will save them on a stick for $18 additional. I am very happy with the service and am enjoying memories 25 years ago.
