I had made prepayment for the room reservation and done online check-in to fast track the check in process. But upon arrival at the hotel, I was asked to pay for the room n had to wait for more than 40mins to get my room. The staff refused to check in the system on my prepayment until I show them proof of my payment. How did the hotel booking system miss this detail?

Even setting up the sofabed in my family suite was a nightmare. I had told the staff upon check in to setup the bed in the evening. It was not done after I came back from dinner n I called the service line with nobody responding for 30 mins. In the end I had to go to front desk to ask for the setup. Went to the bar for drinks while waiting for the bed to be set. When I returned after 1 hr at the bar, bed was not set. Had to call the service line again and only got someone picking up the phone after numerous tries. Finally bed was setup after so many incidents.

Services were bad at LeBar.

Overall I'm deeply disappointed by the quality of service from such highly regarded hotel chain.

Not a great experience.

Not a great experience.

No children s pool here so the kids can not swim safely as the minimum depth is around 1.4 meters deep.

The front desk staff are not very helpful with issues.

The breakfast is ok.

I ve rated it 1 star as the Hotel seems more couple orientated and as it s based in santose which is more children friendly, it seems out of place.

No ATM on site.

I d highly recommend staying elsewhere if you have children with you.

Just a mess with the social distancing policy. I got my package with a travel agent with meals provided, but they have the restaurant fully booked, without putting guests with meal plans as priority in booking, just ridiculous and that the room and the whole building are torn and out dated, don't bordered and look for somewhere else

We had no choice when we booked an overnight stay in this hotel since we were so tired from the trip. But we never regret because we get what we pay for. The room is cozy, the food are sumptuous. You deserve more than just a five star review.

Disappointing service standards despite being part of a strong hospitality chain. Backed by unsatisfactory service recovery, with no remorse for appalling standards.

I do not recommend this hotel for hosting any parties unless you can afford the villa, because that's the price range that they are willing to close their eyes, even if you are planning to end your party before 10pm.

Families beware of the paper thin connecting rooms. The post-renovation work did not help revitalise the property.

Great location if you are looking to have a nice quiet time. Rooms are well appointed, area is beautiful. only drawbacks are transport is really tough without a car and the TVs do not really support external outputs.

Enjoyed my stay. Rooms were spacious, compound was well maintained. Could work on administrative processes. It was stated on the website that breakfast was included for upgrade to junior suites, but was advised otherwise by the staff. Overall a nice place!

One of the older hotels on the island, but well-maintained. Facilities, restaurant quality are are all above average, what truly shined however was the service of a number of staff members. In particular : Timon @ Cliff restaurant who was patient and made every attempt to accommodate our request (lighting, changing our table, explaining the menu items), Glenn @ Kwee Zeen who was friendly, professional and made great recommendations, the lady manager @Cliff (sorry didn't get your name) who was very attentive and professional. The staff at check-in and check-out however, although competent, could make a difference by giving their guests a smile ;-)

Oh, and one point of note regarding the booking - we booked the full-board package that was advertised on the Singapore site but somehow could not be booked online, only by phone(not stated on the website), which was confusing. Please state clearly that these offers can only booked by phone if that is the case.

A very spacious hotel with an impressive courtyard. The service was good overall, the rooms were satisfactory and the environment was good, although there were some parts that were not perfect in detail.
It's likely to be a top candidate when coming back to Singapore for sightseeing.
There were a lot of breakfast items and I was satisfied. However, it seems that the number of staff is low and the staff is missing.
The room was the most basic type, but it was larger than in the city, and it was very cozy with a comfortable bed and a bath tub with a shower.
Room service was also delicious.

In accordance with the price, very comfortable. The food is also delicious. The room is spacious, nice view. The facilities are also complete. Recommended for bringing a swimsuit. The swimming pool is really cozy. Likewise with the restaurant.
When checking in is also good. Really smooth. Unfortunately the deposit is not bad, you know.
SGD 100 / night. But don't worry, if you don't bring cash, you can use a credit or debit card. Later it will be returned when checking out.
The place is also comfortable for meetings or workshops.

Only one minus: If you get a room in the back wing, it's quite a long way from the lobby to the room. Tired of going back and forth. It's a little scary at night. So ask for a room that isn't too back so you don't get tired. Especially if you bring lots of items or babies. Just ask those who are close to the elevator.

One more thing, if you bring a baby, ask for a smoke-free room.

So far, I stayed there 4 nights, awesome! Weight gain because the food choices are many and delicious.
Oh yeah, for breakfast and looking for fried rice and dim sum, it's in a restaurant outside. On the terrace.

Oh yeah, the bathroom is great. There is a bathup, shower room and toilet, each with a door. Big, you know the bathroom. It's really worth it. According to the price

Dear Hotel Manager Piotr Kupiec, Your hotel staff ...

Dear Hotel Manager Piotr Kupiec, Your hotel staff need more training for the room service. I ordered through the in room phone, Hainanese Chicken Rice which came and no issues. The problem was the drinks. I asked the lady on the phone I wanted a freshly squeezed orange & apple juice, it was delivered in two separate glasses and to top it off it was bottle juice, so I ended up paying 2x $7 instead of 1x $10 +10%service+7%GST. She even called my room again to confirm the drink and again I said freshly squeeze orange and apple juice thanks. Your staff at reception wasn't great help either as she said I can order another one however I chose not to as I didn't want to pay again in case it was delivered wrong again. Having spent $400 today already at the spa all I wanted to do was relax in the room and have a meal. I would have given you a 5 star since your hotel is very nice and the rooms are very spacious but the room service tonight is just a disappointment.

Edit 1 to 3 stars: still unhappy about the lack of beach access, but drinks at the pool and exceptional service by Tony at the pool bar helped me get over my very first world problems.

--------
Original:
Currently staying here and the room is nice, but the reason we booked the hotel was the direct access to the beach. However, the side access to the beach is closed, making this hotel less convenient than others. There was also no notice posted, except when actually attempting to use the side entrance from the beach. When calling, they failed to offer a ride back to the hotel, making us wait 20 minutes.

In the end other hotels currently have more convenient beach access as well as dining options. Do not book this hotel with the expectation of beach access.

The room is spacious with a very nice and unique design. I love the tiles in the bathroom. Pool area is huge and has deep areas. I also like the selection of glasses (wine) provided in the room, i dont have to request for it. Fast check in and check out. Great shuttle service all day long.

Stayed 1 night @ Sofitel to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. It was a utterly disappointing experience.
Upon checking into the room,
1) Blood stained comforter on the bed.
2) NO bathroom amenities in the toliet.
3)Breakfast was HORRIBLE! The table assigned to us was given away by another staff when we came back with our food as there was no indication that the table was given to us in the first place. There was no cups, spoons and the food had to be ask to be refilled many times. What was more frustrating was the peacocks were attacking the food on our table and the staffs couldn t care less to help.
It was a nightmare! We left without having breakfast and checked out early!
Thank you SOFITEL for ruining our first anniversary especially when we believed that staying with you guys would make our first anniversary very special.

First time staying at Sofitel and was impressed by how well-kept the hotel and rooms were. Stayed in the junior suite which was beautiful, clean and luxurious. My only disappointment was that our room was available for check-in only at 3.20pm and I had made a prior request for an early check-in. The counter staff did make up for it by offering us complimentary drinks at the bar so we had a place to hang out for a while waiting for our room. And I was pleasantly surprised that my 2yr-old was served a cup of orange juice as well...a very nice touch. Overall, it was a wonderful experience staying at Sofitel Sentosa. Hope to be back!

The check in we had to wait for our room. As we got there before 3pm. Would have liked it if someone had come to us at the bar to tell us our room was ready. Instead we had to go and ask if it was ready. And the bar staff weren't very attentive. We came from lebua in Bangkok where the bar staff were already asking if we'd like another drink as the first was being finished. It seemed as though the bar staff were more interested in talking to each other than serving us. But other than that, our stay was an enjoyable one

A luxurious resort but with history. You can tell the age of its facilities though the staff try very hard to maintain (a good job though). Breakfast is ok, but no kids swimming gear available that is very inconvenient if travel with family.

Excellent Service served by hotel staffs. I requested for good view and we was given a room @ TRANQUILITY WING. Such a spacious, clean room. Surprise complimentary fruits included a mango(my favorite) which never got it during any other hotel stays. Coffee Tea making facilities are so updated. Nowadays, WiFi are important during stay n here, can enjoy Free WiFi too. On that nite(14/May), my daughter, son-in-law n two grandson came here to celebrate Mother Day, once they step, WOW from their expression. They planning to book here for their anniversary n future getaway stay.. After they went back, me n my hubby enjoyed our welcome drinks @LeBar (if not mistaken).. Thumb UP.

I have to say that it was a wonderful experience me and my wife had. As this is our first staycation, we really enjoyed it. The service staffs there were very friendly and helpful, their smiles and cheerfulness do bring a lot of sunshine to the place.
After coming back, my wife has already planning a comeback but this time with our son.
Keep up the great work and see you soon!! :-)

10 Stars!

10 Stars!

This resort is just AMAZING! We stayed here for 8 nights in August/September 2016 and we enjoyed every second of our stay.

THANK YOU for a very memorable and enjoyable stay to all the staff at Sofitel Sentosa, we cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us. From Check in to Check out we felt very valued.

Lobby is very impressive, rooms are clean, modern and cleaned at least once a day, water bottles are provided daily. Pool and resort grounds are neat and very well looked after. Bus to and from other beaches, around the island and shopping centres are frequent and punctual and pick up/drop off at the lobby. Our buffet breakfast was delicious and the variety of food just blew our minds. Chefs were behind the counter with smiles and are very helpful.

The resort is a very peaceful place and we felt very relaxed. We travelled with our 2 year old daughter who was exceptionally welcomed as well, spoiled and was very well looked after by the staff.

To anyone who is looking at staying at this resort, we would highly recommend it. Staff are friendly, very helpful and always have a smile on their faces. I would like to mention a few staff members who seemed like they worked 24 hours Syahir, Kari, Shukor from Concierge, Pop & Sheeva from reception, Newman & Sally from the restaurant, Erica at the Bar and to all the other staff who I m sorry haven t mentioned. You guys are 10 out of 10 and the resort should be VERY proud to have you as part of their team.

We will definitely be staying here again!

Very poor service and unsatisfactory room.

Very poor service and unsatisfactory room.

Stayed for 2 nights during the Christmas period last year.

Cons:

- Asked them for panadol on the phone. They say they will call back but didn't.

- Sand in the bathroom. After housekeeping cleaned up on the 2nd day, there was still sand.

- Phone headset was not working

- Aircon remote was faulty

- TV hdmi doesn't allow connection to my laptop

- Restaurant food wasn't good. The meat in the bak kut teh was really tough.

- Asked for cutlery from the cafe to bring to the room and they hesitated to give it to me.

- Asked for water but it didn't come.

- Asked for water again and they gave me less bottles than I asked for.

Pros:

- The pool looks nice

A very beautiful and welcoming structure, equipped with every comfort. Luxurious and spacious rooms, big pool, good food. At certain times breakfast is a bit crowded but the quality of the buffet is good. The Spa and the gym are exceptional even if, to reach them, the hotel golf kart should be taken, which is always available. To reach the city the hotel offers a very convenient shuttle and on the other hand Sentosa is not so uncomfortable even for those who want to visit Singapore.

Resort is definitely 5 star but housekeeping services fell short.

Requested upon booking for baby amenities (crib, sterilizer and bath tub) but was not provided. Bigger disappointment when was informed all will be in place prior to our arrival and again upon check in, to find out otherwise when we got to the room.

Housekeeping services also missed out on the used cups/utensils. Carpet had quite some stains too. Walked up to a housekeeping staff asking for more bottled water but staff just hurriedly walked off.

As a paid Accor Plus member, late check out was not offered as promised when requested. Didn't want to make a fuss then.

All in all, Accor Plus member discounts make this resort fairly reasonable in value but would consider other resorts instead if paying full rates on room and dining. And the positive was definitely the buffet spread at breakfast and dinner!

I Booked Sofitel from 28-30th May 2017 to celebrate My husband's birthday as Husband and wife (we married january 2017).
I asked for early checked in thru email but on the 28th 1pm when we arrive, our room still not available.
So we waited and park our car outside while exploring the hotel area.

I've been communicating thru email to the reservation staff to prepare bday cake to be sent as surprise to our room on 29th 11.59pm for my husband, Reservation staff confirm and i remind the reception staff during our check in when my husband settling our luggage but that night they TOTALLY forget.
called the reception and he doesn't have any clue on my request and he ask someone delivered it ard 12.35pm and the reception never call back to apologize (i reject the cake as I was so upset).

The 30th may 2017 morning breakfast area are full, we were greeted friendly by Caucasian male staff and one of the lady waitress showed us our seat, as that day was cloudy and very cold, i was politely asking if we can take the table that just empty that was not so exposed by ceiling fan, unexpectedly she give very unfriendly looked and unhappy says "No you can only seat here, we don't have any table"
So me and my husband reluctantly seat and finish our breakfast as fast as we could.

After that we checked out around 12-1pm, and NO ONE EVER APOLOGIZE or seems to know on what happened and by the way when i know that night that they forget the cake, i reply reservation staff thru email saying thanks to messed up my event, No reply at all until now while im writing this comment.

We decide to let the reception staff know what happens during the check out and the Girl ask her manager to talk to us. She brought a box of chocolate says apologize after we explained to her what happen.

I don't need the box of chocolate as an complimentary or an excuse of Sofitel bad service.
Now for me Sofitel is a "LUXURY" hotel we "NOT so luxury service"
I will never regret the experience that we have.
We been to a few hotels at almost same price or more than Sofitel, but Sofitel is the worst service we ever had.

Both me and my husband went to Jakarta on 2 june to celebrate his birthday and blow the candle on top of birthday cake there. He told me my objection has been achieve as he is "Surprise" not to receive his expected birthday cake.

Thank you Sofitel

Great hotel out in Sentosa. Rooms were clean, well appointed with nice bathrooms.

Service was fantastic, breakfast was amazing with local, Indian, french and other western food. Pool is large, outdoors and warm. The pool with the fish that give you a pedicure is a nice touch.

There is a direct route to Tanjong beach, which takes about 5 mins walk.

We were there for a wedding, which was in the cliff restaurant and the food was really good.

Would stay again for a couple of days next time I come to Sentosa.

2nd staycation at your resort.

1st time, last year, was not exceptionally pleased with the front office staff.

But this time round, wow....great improvement as that gentleman overseeing the front office check in, I believe the supervisor or manager, is superb. Polite, helpful and appreciate he still remember our name when we check out the next day. Leave a great impression, but regret didn't have his name.

Anyway, I believe you would be able to find out.

Thanks for the wonderful experience, except for the restaurant, which were privately booked on our 1st afternoon(3rd May) there. Thought we could have a nice lunch overseeing the sea for our lunch..

And housekeeping needs to be improved too, as the area beside the bath tub is so obviously dusty. Plus ants crawling all over the coffee machine.

Absolutely beautiful. We had a one bedroom plus lounge. Room styled beautifully. Came with coffee machine. Bathroom stunning.
Buffet breakfast, tasty with lots to choose from. Swimming pool could be colder on hot days but not a huge issue.
They have a free fish foot spa which is good to try. Also Shuttles to local Vivo City Shopping Centre.
Peacocks roam the grounds so watch your breakfast. Would stay again for sure.

Stayed from the 2nd 6th April 16. Great setting, quiet and peaceful, good size rooms. But all of this was let down by the cleanliness of the rooms. You could write your name on most surfaces which were covered by dust, and don t even think about looking under the bed, it had not seen a vacuum for months. We used the bath and had to ask for it to be cleaned as it was not cleaned the day after it was used not sure if it was cleaned from the previous guest. There was mold growing above our bathroom door - the size of a dinner plate, it took two days of asking before it was cleaned. The second room we booked was the same, most surfaces covered in dust and dust balls huddling in the corners of the room.
If you are thinking about relaxing by the pool, avoid the weekends when it gets busy with day trippers who come to the restaurant and bar and end up taking over the pool area, even though it is only meant for staying guests. The weekdays you get to have the pool area back, and it is peaceful.

Don't be fooled by the photoshopped pictures or the grand chandeliers and spacious rooms with patios. The quality of the rooms is outdated, accompanied by mildewy smell. Rooms are nothing like in the photos. They have advertised a nice room with a patio on Bookings, I called to confirm and they confirmed it on the phone. When we arrived that was NOT the case - a tiny smelly room, no patio. We left immediately. It was a nightmare, being left without options at midnight, after a long flight. They charged us almost $2000 for 6 nights anyway. They have not returned the money. One word to describe the experience: a nightmare! They have marked us as "no show" on bookings, so I can't even leave a review to warn others. Lastly, the worst customer service: incompetent and unprofessional. If you want to stay in Sentosa, check out other options in Sentosa Cove or Capella.

Sofitel is one of the major resorts on Sentosa. It was a well reputable international brand and the stay is very enjoyable. Being a 5 stars resort the service is spledid. This ranged from service at the reception and concierge and to room service. We asked for a cup of ice and a fruit knife. Moments later a bucket of ice and a knife on a plate wrapped in glad wrap was delovered to our door. Transport to and from the hotel is very easy. There is a free shuttle that travels between a large shopping centre; Vivo city every 15-30 minutes You have the choice to be dropped off at resort world for Universal Studios and SEA Aquarium. However you would not be able to get on a shuttle from resort world back to the hotel. For that you would have to get to Vivo City from resort world or take a taxi which would only cost around 10 SGD. Rooms also come with 1 complimentary 15 minutes spa trial at So Spa which i definitely recommend. Unfortunately even if you're staying with someone else they could only do one per room. Other services include tennis and volley ball courts and a large swimming pool. One downside is you're nor allowed to bring drinks down to the pool which you could another resort on Sentosa. Facilities were free to use even when you check out for the rest of the day. This allowed us to shower before leaving for our flight at midnight. Definitely recommend this hotel for families or couples staying on Sentosa.

It's not my first time visiting Sofitel as I have attended a number of wedding and birthday celebrations. It's my first time as a hotel guest, and it made me reshape my perspective of Sofitel. The whole experience from checking in to having a business meeting at Le bar, in room dining and restaurant dining, taking a stroll around the estate to fish spa, was simply surprisingly soothing and relaxing.

Majority of the service crew was hospitable and friendly. I'd love to return to Sofitel for another staycation or celebration or even for business.

Room not up to Sofitel standards - reading light not working, torch corroded, holes in pillow slip, only one bottle of water for two guests, air con freezing blowing directly onto bed at night that it had time be turned off. Told to get out of pool because of a conference dinner and the 3 course lunch we were asked to come later to was an absolute disaster. Final straw was having $400 taken off credit card and being charged international charge by AU bank that will not be refunded. Very expensive drinks and afternoon tea in comparison to Sofitel So. Spa also very expensive for 60 minute treatment. Impossible to get wifi in the room most days-had to go to pool or bar area before we could log on. Only positive was the beautiful outdoor areas. So very disappointing.

Very unprofessional!!! Ignore the customer!

Very unprofessional!!! Ignore the customer!
The male receptionist does not respect the customer. I checked out this afternoon around 13:10. The male receptionist help me check out, but when I talked to him, he ignored me and talked with other colleague laughing!!
What s more, I asked him whether he could help me check the hat is left in the room or not, he just totally ignored me. I asked again, he just gave me perfunctory response.
I waited a long time in front of him, he just ignore me. Then, I asked the result. He said no. But his colleague, who is very nice, showed me hats, and asked me which one is mine. I am so disappointed with the male receptionist, my hat is here, and he just said no. And his ignorance really made me mad.

The front desk service of this hotel is very unprofessional
When I checked out today, it looked like a male receptionist from South Asia had a very perfunctory attitude. I asked him twice to find out if the hat is in the room. The first time I heard it directly (because he confirmed my hat) but he didn t respond.
The second time I promised to help me find it, but I was waiting for him and ignored me until I asked him but said no. In fact, the female colleague next to him was very kind and asked me seriously what the hat looks like and then took out an example of the hat. The first hat is mine. So why did the male receptionist say no? Is this playing me?
At the same time when I was talking, he was chatting with his colleagues, laughing, not listening to me at all? ? ? The hotel staff training needs to be strengthened. I feel that I am not respected at all

-1- I called for early check in and was told it was not possible which is totally acceptable. The person asked to come at 3 pm for check in.

-2- The rooms were not available when we arrived a bit before 3 pm. So we waited until 3 pm ... then 3:30 pm.
We were then told the room won't be available for a while.

-3- We went to the pool to enjoy the facility. At 5 pm ... 5pm! ... one room still not available.

-4- Finally around 5:30 pm I got the keys to the room where ... no one escorted us (very weird) only to find out the keys were not working ... hmm hmm ... starts to be pushing.

-5- So I have to go back to the lobby to activate the keys ... I go to the room and no luggage! Seriously!!!
The person at the lobby told me the luggage were already in the room when I asked at 5:30pm.

-6- So now we are finally in the room and the kids' room booked for 3 kids is set for 2 persons (2 towels, 2 bottles, 2 everything) so we have to call room service to fix this.

At the end of the day ... room late, wrong keys, no luggage, wrong set up ... a LOT for a hotel like Sofitel.

Sorry but it was way below par IMHO.
