Sofitel So Singapore Review

My husband, son and I returned home end of April 2018 after spending 8 nights at the Sofitel So Singapore. Our rooms were absolutely top notch, staff very attentive and helpful. This is the second Sofitel we have stayed in and certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay at other Sofitel hotels in the future.

A truly upscale hotel, clean rooms with all the comforts, such as a multi-function tablet that manages the entire room with curtains, lights, TV, temperature, etc., the very professional and polite staff, the breakfast, very nice even for the competence of the Italian chef, finally, the very competitive prices being a 5 stele, i recommend it

Very good place. Breakfast at the top level. Nice room. The only downside is that my room was without a view

Just had the worst dining experience at Xperience restaurant. Had their high tea semi-buffet set and there was only 2 of us in the whole restaurant.
I counted 3 male staff and 3 female staff around, all acting very busy thruout my 1hr high tea. I can only see them walking about and bringing empty glasses around. No one bothered to check on us or ask us how was the food, my water was not top up for the whole hour too. When i asked for a refill of my hot dish, the male staff did so not just without a smile but WITH a slight frown!
A highly renowned hotel chain definitely needs to look into their staff training. Very disappointing.

Just in front of the satay Foodcourt but I think the hotel is a bit oldish with not enough light and fengshui

Excellent boutique style hotel, smaller and more intimate (not huge high rise). Staff extremely professional helpful and friendly. Reception staff and concierge very friendly and knowledgeable. Love the iPad controlling tv, and lights. Love the iPhone charger in room. Love the electric curtains. Disliked tea/coffee facilities only had camomile tea and no black tea, mini bar snacks very odd, a pain when you are tired and hungry but there is an excellent food court (hawker center) next door for quick meals. Will definitely stay here again.

Everything was great. Detected very small mold issues not uncommon for the climate. Probably coming time for a refurb in the not to distant future. The worst issue was the front revolving door. Fix it or get rid of it
Great Service Overall

Great location, original decor, comfortable room but a bit small. Pool on the roof, a happiness.

Very good and ideally located. Historic building. Small room. Expensive. Nice rooftop bar and pool.

Bought gourmet chocolates for a gift, the chocolates were delicious and the container was classy. Other than the fact it was held in a plain plastic bag, everything was great.

By the time i step on the spa i was amazed of the colonial spanish concept. The refreshing sights of the waterfalls flowing to the pools was so stunning. The patio was well paved i feel comfort on my feet
The staff are warm and welcoming.

Personal, luxurious, quality and comfort. We loved it.

Why is it your policy to not refund accommodation during the COVID-19 pandemic? My mothers accommodation was paid in full in September 2019 for her scheduled stay in July 2020. She provided 3 months notice of the cancellation due to the pandemic, only to be told that you won't refund any of her money.

At the Ground Floor Experience Bar. nice place for cup of coffee and tea and have business meetings. quiet and nice ambience.

I love this boutique hotel, I can call it a 'little gem' in the middle of the business district.
It's very clean and the room where I stayed was very comfortable.
The breakfast was really very good and there was a big choice of food.
The staff was very nice, above all at the concierge and at the front desk. There was only a girl at the restaurant not really kind but this thing doesn't change my 5 stars rating.
The location is really good because it's very near to the MRT and some of the main attractions are also walking distance.

Stayed four nights here. Really comfortable hotel. Super nice staff. Breakfast is excellent. The room is very spacious, the bed comfortable with very nice bedding and great pillows. Everything is controlled via an iPad or iPhone and it all works very smoothly. I would come back here over and over again.

Nice place to stay with the family. I spent a week here and the place is well serviced, good housekeeping and very clean. I will come back again. Highly recommended.

You need to use a wheelchair lift just to get to the check in counter. Not wheelchair accessible, but to just eat at the restaurant is fine.

Beautiful boutique hotel in Singapore where kindness reigns supreme.

The team at So Sofitel were amazing, warm and very welcoming. We had not one reason to complain. The room was impeccable, with special touches such as the little biscuits and tea for your evening tuck-in. The staff went out of their way to assist guests with any query in respect of what to do in town, hotel amenities, etc. Very knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel was very alive, the breakfast sumptuous with such a variety of dishes one didn't know where to start or where to end, and certainly not enough place to stomach all the delicious food.

The only downside was that at lunch time, the waitresses tended to be a bit slow. It took us 30 minutes to order our food, 30 minutes to order a second round of drinks, and another 40 minutes to get the bill. Should we have been in a hurry, this would have been highly inconvenient.

Thank you So Sofitel for showing us such an amazing time in Singapore.

Next time we are in town, we will not think twice about booking directly with you, and actually look forward to it!

Small but cozy and comfortable rooms. Upgraded room control technology with plenty of complimentary high quality media if you find your self room bound. The staff is helpful and highly professional. The bathroom drains are a bit loud and tend to be noisy even when you aren't using the room.

Stayed for 4 nights, great quality and friendly staff.

Design of hotel and rooms are very stylish and grand. I noticed and impressed with small things in the room like different design of hotel slippers for men and women, box with toiletries separated for men and women, jewellery box and etc. The minibar is nicely presented as well.

The bar was just alright, but the roof is pretty scenic. Had better in Singapore though!

I have stayed for business purposes. Very good location, friendly staff, clean room and room services are outstanding. Plenty of choice for breakfast - fruits, nuts, meat and etc. Prices are high, but you get a service. The only down side is small gym and not enough sun beds at swimming pool.

The experience was initially spoiled by a not very welcoming welcome. There was no real "Hello" from the 2 people at the reception, we seemed to have disturbed them at whatever they were doing (we arrived at around 12.30 am) and were not offered help with our luggage or an introduction to the room. Very unusual for a hotel in this class.

It was made up by a great breakfast and nice encounters with the other staff on consecutive days, so all in all it was a good experience. The rooms are nice, only the iPad based AirCon control is pretty useless and the TV could not be turned to be visible from the bed.

We spent 2 nights in a cozy room. Everything was fine until the morning of our second day when we asked for a dirty call up and breakfast box ... but nothing was done.
We quickly received the apology from the quality manager and the refund of our last night that we were unable to take, my wife being seriously injured. Very good reaction to a serious mistake: in the alarm of my wife's smartphone we rations our plane .

Stay there for few days, quite comfortable moment.
Drinking bar and swimming pool are on the roof top, can enjoy over the scene over there.
Room isnt very big, and they have quite good interior design which make you feel the room is quite big.
Breakfasts have quite variety to choose, and delicioia as well.
Still some walk to nearby MRT station.

Room was to small and the design was a bit too excentric. It was hard to relax.

Excellent made to feel welcome upon arrival especially Elena.who went out of her way to ensure professionalism. Extremely appreciative of being offered a room to shower prior to taking a late flight at no extra cost. This type of service ensures I renew my membership with Accor

Best hotel stay experience I've had in a very long time.... the staff were friendly and attentive, the food amazing, the room spectacular, and I loved all the little details dotted around the room.

So disappointing, and So does not deserve to be part of the Sofitel chain.

Mind you, we were very cognizant of the fact that this is a semi-new establishment and decided to give it a pass on all the little things that went wrong during our stay. Having said that, there is still an unspoken expectation of great service when it comes to the Sofitel brand and my past experiences at Sofitels around the world.

Overall experience: In room light control broke on day 2/5 of our stay, we had only cold showers for 4/5s of our stay and the staff didn't seem very eager to make our stay satisfying.

- Unaccommodating Staff
Aside from the concierge which was as amazing and awesome as he was busy, the rest of the staff was merely "okay" and seemed clearly inexperienced, with our hoteliers present yet absent when it comes to taking action and making our stay comfortable.

Stayed here for five nights, and our troubles began on day one. We had just landed from Tokyo and my girlfriend wanted to use her hair straightener and noticed that the bathroom had both 110v and 220v plugs (great!). We called the reception to confirm that she could use the straightener and they were unable to give us a yes or no, to which we then asked for a transformer from them. About 5 minutes later they promptly come to the room with an adapter that does not transform voltage. We call back and they tell us they have no transformers and that we'd go have to buy one (what?! Our dinky hotel in the Brazil went out and got us one when we asked, and Sofitel is telling us to go fend for ourselves?). She didn't straighten her hair this trip...

- Cold showers!
Day two, our room iPad stopped working and we were unable to control the lighting in the room. We were also unable to shower as we were in a hurry and there was no hot (or even warm) water. We thought this was fluke, but then it happened again throughout day three. Day three, we call the front desk to tell them of our shower issues after work and they send an engineer to our room. 2 hours later (now 11pm) the engineer says that he is unable to fix it, and the front desk offers us a new room - except my girlfriend is already asleep and we refuse under the promise that they would get it fixed the next day. Day four, once again cold showers in the morning and the engineers stay the day at our hotel room while we're at work "fixing" the shower. We come back in the evening and find out that the issue is still not fixed and they send the engineers back to our room again, who then tell us that we need to run the water for 30-45 minutes before we get hot water (talk about not being green). Day five, we wake up an hour earlier to account for our lack of hot water and leave the shower running - the water eventually does heat up and we have our first hot shower in 4 days.

Overall, for the price, you're better off staying at any of the other nearby hotels, The Westin may be a particularly good choice and is only a block away.

Restaurant ok on a previous evening. Staff not sharp enough. Food for 6 did not arrive even close to each other.
Roof top pool bar delightful good quick and switched on staff there.

Business hotel in the heart of city. Easily accessible and definitely worthwhile to stay for short business trips.

As I was for a business trip, a good rest & satisfying breakfast is extremely important. Location was also my main consideration as the Hotel was just a 3 minutes walk from my office.

The room, albeit a bit small, was great. Love the overall design & high-tech feeling. The bed was especially excellent & very comfortable
Love the mini bar's Mint Tea, helps me relax before going to sleep.
However working on the desk was not very comfortable since the chair keeps bumping into the bed.

Breakfast was great although the choices are somewhat small, love the freshly squeezed Orange Juice & freshly brewed coffee.
Note on the coffee though, on my last day it was really watery. Please maintain the consistency.

The gym was small but perfectly adequate as I'm only using the treadmill.
Hopefully I'll be able to try the rooftop pool & bar next time.

Overall, enjoying my stay here and appreciate the excellent hospitality from the staffs.

Great service comes with five star hotel facilities. I got the room upgrade to be So VIP, 1 King size bed which was spacious, 90 sq.m and the biggest room type here. It's sooooooo comfy. I really enjoy there

Great location, great hospitality and lovely people.

The room was comfortable and spacious. The amenities were great and the service at reception and in the main restaurant was excellent. Our rooftop bar experience was poor. Why not just allow Platinum Accor members to have a cocktail of our choice with the welcome drink voucher? So many other Sofitels do that. But the bar staff service was appalling. We were basically ignored and when we were finally served the very distracted ( by a young lady guest) waiter forgot to put our food order in.

Excellent hotel.. located in the downtown financial district.. well appointed rooms with great breakfast selection.

Amazing concierges! Great location and lovely decor. Staff always greeted us by ours names and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended!

A great place to stay. It offers you the best of French design. Best part of starting here is its proximity to nearly all important offices in Singapore. Go for it if you have a decent budget and are ready to engage with the hustle and bustle of the city.

One of the best hotels in Singapore! All facilities are incredibly well thought and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

Cosy room is really cosy! The room is small but you don't feel the cramp. High tech with all lighting, TV, curtain etc control on the iPad provided. You scored on the free mini bar(non alcohol). They should pay attention to reservation remark by guest asking for baby cot and it should be ready by the time guest checking in and not request by the guest again then. That's the reason 1 star off.

The last thing, the staff is NICE!

Very fashionable and centrally located it is one of the newest hotels in the CBD. The pool and its bar are great but the ground floor bar and restaurant less so. The rooms are relatively small with specific modern design.

Very nice hotel and Staff member. Location also nice too!! It's in distance of walking to three different subway station. And there are lots of restaurant across the hotel. The best thing is snack bar is Free!!!

I booked the Sofitel So due to its proximity to my office at Asia Square. The location is fantastic with a food marker opened every night downstairs and fantastic restaurants just a few streets away. The rooms are clean and very modern, but very small (even for Singapore!)

This hotel is in the perfect location for getting good street food and public transport. I stayed here for 3 nights for the WTA tennis finals.

The hotel itself is small and extremely well designed and decorated. The rooftop pool and bar is awesome and the staff are fantastic. The room wasn t huge but there was a separate bathroom and toilet. Lights, tv, curtains are all controlled by an iPad.

There is a free shuttle that travels between the Sofitel on Sentosa and the So Sofitel and another that goes to a shopping centre on Orchard Road.

I didn't eat in the hotel but there was always plenty of people in the restaurant/cafe. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to go to Singapore.

A big call, but I am going to say it, probably my favourite hotel ever.

My husband and I previously stayed at the Sofitel So in Singapore a few years ago and had a wonderful time, so on our recent return visit we decided to recommend the hotel to our extended family and as a group we booked 4 rooms. We were not disappointed and there are now 3 family units who have all said that they plan to return to Singapore and wish to stay at the Sofitel So again.
Personally, my husband and I had a seamless check-in and we were thrilled to find out that our room had been upgraded. Anyone would be happy to learn this but what we feel sets the Sofitel So Singapore apart is the personal and attentive service we received from Charmaine during breakfast and the helpfulness of the concierge who assisted us in booking the Night Safari. It is staff like that who are an asset to your hotel and we hope that this feedback reaches them. We shall return!!

So surprised, so good.... big impression with high tech room control by ipad.,, enjoy all entertainment from youtube, hd tv, or in house movies, ....first time experience, mini bar totally free with more than 10 type of drinks and snacks. Lucky for me to book room with big discount (from accor website) and hotel offers us early check in without surcharge... thank you so much and definitely comeback!!!
