My girlfriend booked with them back in July to get from LGA airport to JFK airport. Her flight got in tonight and she waited an hour for them to show. The app wasn't working and she had to call customer support and they couldn't find her a ride (despite having a reservation). She had to cancel and get a refund and then take a Lyft. Don't waste your time. Not worth the headache.
We loved our experience with Carmel. The reservation specialists were very helpful. The car in which we were picked up was stylish, clean and roomy. The driver was punctual, as well as courteous. We set up our reservation with Carmel before we flew into New York. From the point when we called upon arrival, they were very prompt in arriving and helpful in helping locate their car. They had a sign with my name on it in their window so that I knew which car was for me and that was so helpful in such a high traffic airport. Carmwl was fantastic to deal with. Driver arrived 45 minutes early which was inconvenient. Dropped us at Pier 94 and our ship was at Pier 88. Then asked if we would pay cash on our return trip instead of using credit card.
I signed up with Carmel and they've been consistently on time or early. They also have PHONE service (unlike Uber) so if there is a mistake in the booking you can get a credit. The drivers have been pleasant and the rides smooth!

I needed a long ride, to Katonah New York, and Carmel quoted the best price, the driver was late by almost an hour, still he was very nice, took me to my destination and returned swiftly, I hired Carmel in the past and will return with more business.
Use the service in Atlanta recently. The car did not show up to take us back to the airport from the hotel. I had to call them and they scrambled to get us a car 45 minutes late. The cars were in very rough shape but the driver was a nice guy. I would not use Carmel again. Taxi next time.

Newark airport to midtown Manhattan in a nice Denali XL was quicker than expected and comfortable along the way.
My driver this morning was professional and pleasant. He opened the door for me and put my luggage in the trunk. He was open to my idea of going the pretty way instead of the shorter way. I will use Carmel again and hope I get this driver again. This is my honest review and I got a coupon for posting it.
We have used Carmel's service for decades, both on all of our trips to the airport and when recommending their service to visiting family and guests. I would never take a chance on finding a taxi or limo at the last minute and have always been more than satisfied by their service.
Although I was offered a $10.00 discount on a future trip, I had already posted my comments on Carmel's site about a recent trip. I am happy to report my great experience.
A relatively new service, to pre-arrange a pickup at the airport, worked beautifully. Our flight, which was already due to arrive at JFK rather late was delayed by 5 hours! While the line for taxis after midnight wasn't too long, I followed the instructions to call the Carmel office after I had retrieved luggage, and was promised that a driver would be at passenger pick-up in 5 to 7 minutes. A very friendly and capable driver arrived as promised; the cost was reasonable; and I will definitely use this feature in the future. Anyone who has experienced the long taxi lines in bad weather or at peak hours will appreciate this convenience; I'm glad I decided to try this service.

My wife and I used this service for the first time to get from the Newark Airport to Manhattan. It worked 100% perfectly. We couldn t have been better served. The booking process was easy, they kept you up to date on your trip details, then who your driver would be, how to contact him/her, etc. Then there was almost no wait for the driver, he was helpful with our bags, got us into NYC efficiently, and was friendly. We had reserved an SUV and it was clean and comfortable. As a disclaimer, I am getting a $10 credit for writing this review. But if you think about it, why would I want that if the experience had been poor, as then I wouldn t be wanting to use them again. Definitely a 5 Star experience
First time using Carmel and it was great! The reservation, communication, and confirmation with staff were all perfect and best of all, easy. I did knock off 1 star only because the pick up driver was impatient with waiting 4 minutes for us to exit JFK upon arrival, and he called me twice asking for my ETA after I told him already; also, his vehicle did not fall under the class of car that I had reserved, in my opinion. The second vehicle for the return trip back to JFK at the end of our trip was fantastic. His vehicle definitely was on point, and it was a last minute reservation but the driver arrived quickly. Overall, I will utilize this car service the next time I m in NYC.
My driver today was friendly (but not too friendly) , polite, and an excellent driver! He was only five minutes early (other car services will start calling you 15 minutes early) and it was a smooth, calm ride and we got to the airport three minutes before the estimated time. I ve actually never given an online review, but I am so furious right now I felt I had to share this experience to prevent it from happening to others. My husband reserved a car for our family from La Guardia weeks before our arrival. He also updated them through the day when our flight was delayed. To make a long story short, because they were backed up they left our family - including my 4 month old and 4 year old stranded at the airport. Not even an apology. Just said they would return our money. Left us scrambling for a cab in the rain. My poor babies were so tired and it took over an hour for us to get back. Thank goodness we brought our own car seats or we would have been in real trouble. Unreliable. Undependable. Awful service: Never again.

I made a reservation in 1 day in advance to catch a flight from JFK. 5 minutes before departure, I get a text saying the driver will be 10 minutes late. When the driver didn't show up, I called dispatch. They told me that they had no more cars and couldn't commit as to when a driver could arrive. This is outrageous! I may miss my flight due to their incompetence, only to save 15$. They were also hardly apologetic about it and said it has happened many times today. Take Lyft or Uber and save yourself this kind of stress.
Used Carmel for the first time to provide transportation for my daughter, late at night, from Laguardia. She was dropped off at the wrong location, on the other side of a park with all her bags. When I called Carmel about this they noted the complaint and didn t even bother following up. Will not use again.

I always take Carmel when leaving New York to travel, usually to LaGuardia when it's domestic and JFK to go overseas. They are invariably on time, professional and a much better way to travel than an NYC yellow cab. They charged me extra for bags they charge extra for tolls I got this quote weeks before I arrived in New York so I'm sure they know they go through tolls and they were picking me up from the airport so of course I would have bags I ordered two luxury cars for 7 people I got to Avalon's I had to rush rude and absolutely no mannered drivers. At one point he told me I could get out and wait for another carwhen they picked us up at the airport they didn't even give us time to explain who was our and what luggage belong to that person but instead rushed just into the car and then yelled at us about extra luggage definitely not a recomendable car service from JFK to New York City
I have never had any issues with Carmel, having used them for many years. I m reviewing them for a $10 discount my next trip, but I wouldn t bother except with they are so reliable. The driver was 5 minutes early and that gave me time to make last goodbyes. It was a relief to be picked up at my building with luggage without the stress involved with Lyft or Uber sharing and having to haul my luggage to some unknown location and wait, possibly to be stood up and charged anyway, or severely delayed as has happened before with Lyft and Uber. I got to JFK from Murray Hill in less than 1/2 hour despite some congestion, the pricing of which was included in my base fee since I booked online and used a coupon. Thanks Carmel

Last Wednesday morning I reserved a car to pick me up on Thursday morning at 4:45 A.M. to take me to JFK airport.. I received a confirmation e-mail listing all charges . It also listed the $3.00 discount I received because I made the reservation on-line. On Thursday morning I received an e-mail telling me who my driver was . At 4:35 A.M. I received a call from the driver that he was already outside waiting for me. I was relieved to hear that, as I am always anxious about getting to the airport on time.. While making reservations to fly to my brothers funeral. My wife missed the fact that she was not renting a car but a car service. When we got to the airport we found out that it was a car service. When we called the company and ask for at least a partial refund they said no because the driver was already there we were getting charged the full amount for the day. Even though we did not use the service. I would not recommend them because the lady on the phone was extremely rude. I recommend finding another service if you want good service.
I have used Carmel for many years and was always for giving them business and overall very nice people. Yesterday, I ordered a car to pick me up at JFK. My flight was delayed 6 hours and when I arrived at midnight, I called and told them I was waiting and the dispatcher said a car was on the way. I waited 20 minutes and called and they said the car was on the way, Then about 10 minutes later they called me and said my reservation was canceled because there were no more cars available. This left me, my wife, and 2 kids stranded at JFK at 12:30 AM. WTF??? I was shocked. We ended up getting an Uber and paid more, but to leave me stranded is shameful!!!! I will never use Carmel again!!! And you should not use them as well. Totally and completely unprofessional. I have used them for at least 5 years, and will never ever use them again!!!

I'm with everyone else, I use Pleasant Limo all the time to get from The City to SFO, they are always on time, courteous, and professional. Given the price to get to SFO is the same as a cab or Uber, why not go in style and book something where you are confident they will be there even super early in the morning. My last trip I got to meet the owner and he wants to have Teslas as his entire fleet of black cars. He's looking for ways to stay competitive against Uber, Sidecar, and Lyft.

Uber's prices keep creeping higher and higher, and their drivers receive less and less of the fare. Price comparison app I use announced that Carmel was a new option. It was $4 more (so $35 vs $31) for me to take a GMC Yukon from Queens to Brooklyn than for me to take an Uber share in God knows what vehicle and with what type of other passengers and with how many other stops. $4?! I'm down.
Driver was excellent, terrific conversation, beautiful, clean vehicle and ride, and the surprise highlight of this entire experience was the app. It is VERY well done and thought through. Tipping, checking on driver, communications with driver, etc. It's all there.

I've used Carmel Car service multiple times to and from airports. They are always on time when picking me up at home and I also receive confirmation that the ride will be there. Cars are always clean and drivers are always professional. I never use other car services especially when you need on time service.

My driver did not speak the same language as me and therefore had a difficult time finding my pickup location (hotel had three different entrances), we couldn't communicate by his phone. He had to have a someone else call me and then translate to back to him. Thank goodness he did eventually find me, and thankfully he was on time. Found Carmel a few years ago and I have not used another car service since. I have not used the app or the internet to make a reservation. I always call and speak to a person and tell them exactly what I want. I get a confirmation email quickly with all the details of the reservation. They have never been late to pick me up either to or from the airport.
