Placing an online reservation was easy. Costs were as expected and the driver was so good than a generous tip was called for. We avoided traffic and I enjoyed my ride even though it was raining.

Arrived early but they were able to rapidly assign a driver and meet us at the airport within minutes of our new arrival time. Transportation was fast and courteous. The emails and apps and communication was reassuring. This is my own opinion however I was given a ten dollar coupon for a future ride as compensation.

Carmel Car & Limo gave us a great experience, from EWR to Manhattan, on a very nice SUV. A total of 6 passengers plus 6 pieces if luggage fit perfectly on that car for a very competitive price. The driver was amazingly nice (Mr. Zou), and he was right on time at the airport. We will definitively use their service again when traveling.

Made reservations to be picked up at la guardia airport at a specific time when our plane landed. Called to say we re here and the girl said 5 minutes the car will be there. After 1/2 hour later I called again and got same lie. Asked for dispatch and they said they have no cars available and it should be another 10 minutes. 20 more minutes go by and a car shows up. I will NEVER use them again. Liars are dangerous. Surprised they are still in business.

Used web site to book a car the night before traveling. Flew into JFK and upon landing called their number (as instructed) to let them know I had arrived and was ready to go. Courteous phone staff told me exactly where to wait outside and to look for specific make/model with my name on window. Said it would be 10 min. It was more like 15, but Friday at 4:45 rush hour so no biggie. Car was clean, driver was great. All prepaid online including tolls and tip so no awkward settling up. Overall, just a worry free experience. I am being given a voucher for my next ride for my review, however, I would have reviewed the same regardless. Good service deserves to be recognized. Rates at least as competitive as taxis and more comfortable roomy ride. Going to use them for return trip too!

This is the worst service we got ever in New York. We made a reservation for Nov22nd from La-Guardia Airport to W New York Time Square. Reservation number is 12202606. We requested for a SUV. Unfortunately we waited for an hour but the vehicle doesn t show up. Then they send a Mini Van instead of SUV and the driver was totally unprofessional.

First car service I used when I first came to NY! They're awesome and very reasonable.

Very easy pickup and drop off. Our driver was a very nice gentleman.

From the initial phone call to set up the trip, to the confirms, to the timely arrival, to the safe, timely and relaxing drive both ways, my wife and I had zero complaints. Our driver Uddin (Uchi?) was a total pro and a gentleman. I usually don t leave reviews but felt I needed to save someone else from making a very bad decision by using this car service. Opted for Carmel because I was quoted a cheaper price than Lyft by $10 and was given a $6 off coupon at the airport. Was picked up from Laguardia airport in a Toyota Sienna minivan that had seen better days. Before we get to my hotel stop in Midtown, the driver asked for my card and quoted me $20 MORE than the initial quote and insisted on a 20-25 percent tip!!! He stated the increase were for toll fees but we didn t go through a toll. I asked about using the coupon (that I mentioned I had when making the reservation) and was told I needed a code. Who am I gonna get a code from when I have the coupon in my hand!?!? I feel bamboozled but never again. I ll stick with Lyft or Uber because at least I know what I ll be charged up front.

Carmela car service took the stress out of getting from JFK to lower Manhattan. Our driver was very friendly and answered all of my annoying tourist questions. I wanted to leave a review because I appreciate the service but it is nice to also get a reward towards our next booking as well.

I used Carmel first time for a pickup from JFK. Booking was easy. I can get driver info by a click of a button on the confirmation email. I went to a pickup spot and just for a few minutes, I spotted a car with a driver holding out my name on the sign. The driver is very polite and friendly. I already booked my second trip with Carmel.

I booked them for an airport transfer and it worked via the app very smooth. The driver was super friendly and drove us safe to our hotel. I paid via the app without any problems. Would book again and recommend. Only little thing is that we booked the deluxe option but the car felt more standard, the driver so Luxus :) therfore still 5 points.

Carmel is my go to car service in any city. John was a great driver and made sure I was comfortable the entire trip. My recent visit to NYC I used the app. Pros: Very easy to schedule a pick up, track driver location, and get pic of car. Cons: the app does not allow you to add your coupon. You have to call to dispatch to add it to your fare. Had to transfer from operator to supervisor to get this done. It was handled while I was in the car. But I f I have to call to get the discount I might as well call for the reservation and not use the app. Based on driver/ride I would give them 5 stars; I gave 4 simply due to the app. Disclaimer. Terrible incompetent car service. I waited over 45 minutes for my car at La Guardia, and was also given the wrong pick up area. I was later told there was a backlog at La Guardia and my car was not even assigned until 25 minutes after I called, which they neglected to tell me when I first called to confirm my arrival.

Booked a private car from Dulles to DC and followed all their instruction. We called the day before to confirm our flight number and landing time. They turned up at the airport 10 minutes after the plane landed???? They call us to ask where we were. Now any one that has travelled to the states, be it foreign or American, know that passport control can take hours. Even collecting bags is longer than 10 minutes.
They said they were going to charge us for every 15 minutes we were late. When we got through passport control we called,as it says on THIER, instruction, on to find they had left.
THIER customer service just said tough, they waited 90 minutes for us, we didn t show so the driver left. They even agreed that they know how long it can take to get through customs but they still said too bad and you are on your own. We had to get a bus.
We will be getting a refund through our credit card company.
Please don t use.

Reasonable fee; w/ option to prepay toll & gratuity, but no hidden costs. When pickup was near, even sent a "Show me my car" link indicating what car/license plate, current location, also name & a pic of driver and clear instructions. Car was clean; driver was very professional-courteous yet respected my privacy, quick but safe driving. Highly recommended. I had a reservation to be picked up at LaGuardia, which is under construction and therefore a madhouse, but even though it was very busy, I was picked up within a few minutes after I called. The driver was courteous and helpful, and the ride was very satisfactory.

I just had the BEST experience with Carmel. They offered me a reward to post this review, but I was going to do it anyway. I needed a ride for me and my pets to JFK American Airlines pet cargo, (which I do not recommend - at all BTW). But my driver went above and beyond for me, through the many troubles American Airlines put me through today. My driver was right there to get me where I was ultimately supposed to be, and was very pleasant throughout the entire journey today. He was right on time, the car was very nice and he was awesome. He didn't want me to give his name for personal recognition, but I thank him just the same. Although I never want anything to do with AA ever again in my life, I will surely hire Carmel again.

I used Carmel today for a trip in Manhattan. The driver was on time. He wore a mask over his nose and mouth the whole time. He was fine with me opening both back seat windows for the whole ride. The car was clean.

The cost was $20 less than what Dial 7 quoted me.

I have used Carmel cars a dozen or so times over the last few years as we travelled from the UK to NYC. I don t think that we have ever had a bad experience. This time around, we used them three times and all trips were really good. I find the prices are very reasonable Indeed but the drivers are so friendly, especially Mohammed Naveed on our last journey to JFK - such a nice guy.

We used Carmel three times on our recent trip to New York and the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Our drivers were in contact with us and guided us to the pick up spot at LGA and then took us to our hotel. Two days later, another driver picked us up and took us to the Manhattan Pier. We had pre-booked both these trips. When our cruise was over, we called Carmel to pick us up for our return trip to LGA. He quoted 15 minutes, and called to keep us up to date. The prices were reasonable, and the cars were clean and comfortable. We have another cruise coming up in December, and will be using Carmel again! Only downside is the drive did nothing to help us with our bags in picking us up at EWR and dropping us at our Manhattan hotel. We used Carmel to pick us up after a Redeye flight home Hawaii. Not only were their rates great, but it was so nice not to have to worry about requesting a car upon landing. We were worried about our ride after we had a emergency landing in LAX -- called Carmel who assured us they were tracking our flight and there would be no issue (we landed 3 hours late). I have been using Carmel exclusively for the past six years. The driver always arrives to pick me up a few minutes before the appointed time. The cars are very clean and comfortable. In all these years I have never had a driver who is not polite and accommodating. I am very grateful that I never have to wait long at the airport for me pickup. The drivers call to say where they are and how long it will take them to reach me. My husband and I have many choices of car services and we always choose Carmel.

Very disappointed. I had booked a luxury sedan from Newark airport to midtown Manhattan. I was was picked up in a fairly old minivan. The driver drove far too fast and aggressively. I asked him to slow down but he said he needed to get to the tunnel before they closed a lane. However he did slow down. But he continued to brake sharply for no apparent reason.

Once we got to Manhattan he started taking notes on a notepad while driving slowly.

For a service with such great reviews, this was all very disappointing and I can not recommend them.

I explained all of this in my feedback to the company and they have ignored it. Given that I raised safety issues, this was quite surprising.

I have been using Carmel for at least 25 years. They are always 5 minutes early for pick-up. The drivers are safe and efficient and helpful if there is luggage to be handled or doors to be opened. Their prices are fair and and their communication with clients is efficient. I will receive a 10 dollar coupon for this review but I would never write this review for just that. It just happens to be a really responsible company!

Driver was terrific ! However, dispatcher gave me a false rate quote and rather then respond to my complaints , Carmel customer service ignored my complaint. Initially I was told they would look into it then never responded , even after my numerous attempts to communicate. I would not recommend this service due to the fact that if there a problem of any sort, I wouldn t trust those in business office to do right by customer.

We received a call the DAY before our trip to let us know that our two reservations (made two months before--one for the next day and one for 6 days later) had been cancelled. Cars break down, but that's still poor customer service. And you can't even get me another car for in SIX days!?

On a side note: Because the reservation was made through a third party (Travelocity), I was asked to "cancel" my own reservation as Carmel wouldn't. Also poor customer service.
