I used Carmel Car service on a recent trip to Manhattan, to and from JFK and our hotel in Midtown. The service was extremely easy to set up, the cars were exactly on time at exactly the right location, the drivers were courteous and helpful, and the cars were clean and comfortable. The app on my phone made it very easy to schedule and monitor the status of my car and ride. The price was very competitive with taxis, Uber and Lyft services. I highly recommend, especially in NYC.

The actual car service was excellent - clean car, personable driver. The Carmel app was very slow in responding to me, and when I called Carmel I was waiting for 15 minutes.

Driver arrived on time (5 minutes early); the car is very clean and luxurious (Lincoln small SUV). Painless smooth drive to the airport; driver observed good driving practices/obeyed traffic laws. Price is competitive.

Great service. Easy ordering on line. The car was on time the driver was polite and professional. The price was cheaper than cab. The only drawback is that they pick you up outside the airport at the car parking which involves short but unpleasant walk due to constructions in that area.

Drivers were early but I think they are not allowed to talk to customers. It is my first time to New York so I was starting a friendly conversation to the driver but he doesn't seem to be interested to talk. They don't even introduce themselves. They only talked when they asked for toll fee and tip which is $20. Carmel did not mentioned that when we booked.They picked us up at La Guardia Airport to Manhattan then back to same after a week.

Pick up at EWR was just a couple of minutes after we confirmed we were done at baggage on a hour weather delayed flight. The Car and driver were very nice. Use of the mobile app is critical to good communication.

The Carmel was rather quick at the airport.
It is somewhat difficult to call them, as you don t have a us mobile number. It would be great to call them by whatsapp.
The driver demanded a 20percebt tip, on top of the price online and the toll. I was kind of confused, because of demand of 20 and because it was also demanded on the toll paid.

Yesterday Carmel picked me up at a hospital in Manhattan and drove me to the The Bronx. The driver was polite. His car was spotless. The service was great! Carmel is one of the only (and the best) that will go to my neighborhood. Most car services don't like to because it is out of the way, but Carmel will. I would recommend them to anyone. I was most impressed that even though my flight arrived way early, they still picked me up 5 minutes from the time I called them to let them know I had arrived. Nice clean car, quiet trip home.

I have relied on Carmel Car service for many trips to the airport over the past few years. I have never been disappointed with their service. Drivers are always punctual and in fact usually arrive a bit early. The cars are comfortable and always clean. I highly recommend Carmel car service. You won't be disappointed.

Even though Carmel is offering me a $10 discount on my next ride I d write this review anyway. I always use Carmel when needing to go to an airport because they are always on time, drivers are always courteous and their price is close enough to an uber or lift to not have to worry about the safety of drivers or having to walk to a specific area to find their car. I highly recommend Carmel.

I've used them for years with my former employer, and she swore my them and asked me to only book through them. Now it was my turn to use them, and after one bad experience at JFK involving an impatient driver and a walker he refused to make fit, they more than made up for it with two stellar rides. The last ride was miraculous, as our friendly and knowledgeable driver Lei J. got us to JFK from Manhattan in record time despite rain and midday traffic.

Great service, very responsive customer support, never have to wait on hold when I call and they call me right away if I submit an online request. Good pickup strategy and the prices often better than Uber, even with tip.

Car was on time, clean and mire comfortable than a taxi. Rate for family of 4 was excellent. Absolutely no stress and got to destination on time.

Easy service to arrange. Clean and spacious car which was great as we landed during rush hour so took almost 2 hours from JFK to midtown. Will be booking with Carmel again in the future.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! DO NOT BOTHER WITH THESE PEOPLE. i booked a ride for my boss 2 weeks in advance. 20 minutes before pick up they call me to say they are unable to do the ride. seriously? you had two weeks to either tell me or find a resolution. and you decide to tell me 20 minutes before my boss needs to be picked up at the airport?? they didn't even apologize or offer any kind of compensation. just "there's nothing we can do" i would give negative stars if i could. stick with a company that's more reliable and professional. too bad i couldn't have them explain this to my boss!

Got picked up from JFK last night and the service was fantastic. Had a cancelled flight to Newark so had to change my pickup location to JFK and Carmel changed it for me without any problems.

Rang the main line when I collected my bags and a car picked me up 5minutes later just outside the terminal.

Great phone customer service and great driver as well.

Will be using again for future trips.

I am happy to share a glowing review about Carmel car. I've lived in NYC for 2 years and can never get anyone to pick me up with my small dog. She's too big for a carrier, but is still small-ish. My driver was so kind and supportive about getting us to our destination on time that I have cancelled my zip car and will book with them. Cars are always clean. Drivers are courteous and aren't constantly hitting the gas then the brake and making me car sick. Prices are most times better than Uber and cars are roomier.

Less money than other car services for a trip to the airport. Excellent app and customer service. We have been using Carmel Car Service for several years when we visit the New York area. We have taken the cars to or from JFK Airport, Newark Airport and White Plains Airport. They have always arrived on time and even changed times when flights were delayed.

This is the BEST car company I ve ever used. We booked with CARMEL for our trip to NYC based on a friend s recommendation and they did not disappoint. The car was clean, the driver was professional, the company was responsive and very accommodating. I highly recommend this car service.

I have been using Carmel since 2014 and 80% of the time, the drivers, service and cars have been perfect. The other 20% of the time I would still rate the service good. Dependable company for airport trips especially.

Excellent experience with Carmel in July 2016. The company had been highly recommended by a NYC-based colleague who uses them often and said they were very reliable. That was also my experience. I arrived at JFK on a late-night flight from San Francisco, called the company as I exited the airport, and the driver was there within minutes. Similarly on my return trip from Manhattan the driver arrived punctually and whisked me back to the airport. Safe drivers, they know their routes well, outstanding service. I will definitely use this company on my return trips to NYC.

Traffic was very bad and road was closed outside our hotel. Driver met us a few blocks over and while we had to walk a few blocks we were able to arrive to Newark airport in the posted time. Vehicle was spacious and clean. Driver was informative and pleasant. Will use again.

My driver was on time. I normally get nauseous in traffic but this time, the ride was smooth. He also did not get lost.

best way to get home from the airport. I really like that I can schedule a pick up in advance with info on my flight. Carmel tracks my flight and texts info on the car and where to be pick up, so I don't need to deal with waiting for a car or taxi, especially helpful in bad weather. Drivers are always nice and always early.

Called around midnight the night before we needed a ride for early morning. Operator was very nice and scheduled our car with no problem. I have used Carmel for several years. Their prices are lower than other car services (Uber, Lyft, etc.) and they have always been on time with clean cars and pleasant drivers. However, occasionally the cars smell like cigarette smoke. Their website and app usually work pretty well for normal rides, like airport and theater pickups, and their phone staff is consistently helpful with questions or online issues.

I have been a Carmel customer since I moved to New York over 20 years ago. I have always found them to be courteous, almost always on time if not early. Their cars are comfortable and clean. During this pandemic, their drivers are careful to wear masks and allow you to put your luggage in the trunk if you wish so that no one but you touches your things. As someone who uses a walker, I am grateful that the driver is also always happy to put my walker in the trunk for me since I'm not sure I could manage myself. This is my review but Carmel has offered to give me a $10 credit.

My driver arrived on time and was very nice though his English was limited. He turned on the radio to a channel that I wanted and helped me take my bags to the entrance.

Booked day before for pickup at LaGuardia. I pd in full in advance and we didnt have to deal with any money when our driver deposited us at hotel. The car had my name clearly posted on sign in window and the car number and make/model matched exactly with the text i received a few minutes after calling them when we landed. Driver was polite but not talkative and deposited us at hotel door in Manhattan. I would absolutely spend the money ro book a car instead of trying to save money and figure out a subway system . I was able to talk to a person at Carmel and they could fix the problem with the application. The application listed the incorrect address.Therefore the driver was able to find the correct address and take my friend to me successfully. All the other companies are only online and you cannot speak to a person.

This car service is the BEST!
I organized a car in NYC to picked us (2) up from Mt. Sinai Hospital the next morning and needed assistance with a patient who was being discharged from the hospital. The driver was a few minutes early, which always scores points with me!! He was over-the-top helpful, which we so, so appreciated under the circumstances.
When we got to the airport, the driver, once again, went over and beyond expectations to be helpful!

I requested a car for a 4 am pick up on a Saturday morning on Staten Island, NY for transport to the Airport. I used the company's website to make the reservation and requested a 1-4 person sedan. I called a few hours later to verify the request (it was the day before my flight). After reading other reviews on here I made myself ready about 15 minutes before my requested pick up time. Sure enough, the driver called about at 3:45 to tell me he was there. The car was a very nice SUV instead of a sedan. The driver was very polite and assisted me with my bag. The drive in was very easy and comfortable. I was able to pay with my credit card in the car and had a receipt e-mailed to my account (business trip). Even though I got an SUV instead of a sedan I was charged my quoted price. It is more expensive than if had just requested a taxi but it was a good experience and worth the few extra dollars. I've heard taxi's don't like to come to Staten Island so I didn't want to risk it and was willing to pay the 7 extra dollars over the fixed SI fare from a taxi.

Don't trust the quotes. It will be double than what they tell you. The driver will also trap you and make you give them cash for any tolls they took as well as any tolls they will have to take after dropping you off so make sure you're not alone or have children with you because it's scary. Just get a Lyft.

Carmel is my go-to to go to/from all NY area airports. The pick-ups in Manhattan are always on time, the cars clean, the drivers polite. The pick-ups from airports are easier now with the app - I can track the car's progress.

This is my second time using the Carmel Reservation app and its pretty great. I arranged an airport pick up for my sister and I needed to call them to add her cellphone number and the telephone rep was so polite! The driver was also great, but the pick up time was a little off. The airport is pretty confusing anyway so it probably wasn t his fault. I just arranged another ride and the price is fair, I love that I can pay with a card and that the cars are always clean, well air conditioned with friendly but respectful drivers. Great to know that people still take pride in their work in the taxi & limousine business!
