Nice driver but horrible car - not his fault but it was the bumpiest ride. I ve had beat up taxis in NY give me a smoother ride! We drove home from the city to NJ after a back surgery and decided the person, our relative, who helped us by calling Carmel made a bad decision by going with rock bottom price. It shows you get what you pay for. I never would have booked it had i seen the car. We were quoted near $100 by them, but ended up paying, with tip, $148. I m still annoyed. Watch out when you call for a car service. If it seems too low a price, make sure there are no additional charges, such as the case with Carmel. Never, ever again! I d rather pay $200-$250 for true service with a nicer car. Guy couldn t have been nicer, thus the 2 stars.

I have been using Carmel for years, great service and I recommend them for safe and cost efficient rides.

I usually take New Jersey Transit from Manhattan to Newark Liberty. On July 7th, I ended up carrying three big bags of which only one was my own. I needed some help to be at Newark without breaking my neck onto and off the train. And on time. I used Carmel Car once before two years ago and remembered them. I went on line the night before and right on time they came and off I went with a reasonable price (and no broken neck and on time.) In a similar case, I would have no doubts in using Carmel again. And yes, the driver was very nice. I suggest paying for all, including tales and tip, in advance as I did. JG

Disclaimer: This is my review but Carmel has offered me $10 for sharing. We used Carmel twice for our trip. First, to the airport and then when we came back. On both legs, we had no issues with making a reservation or with the service itself. Both times, the car was there on time and the driver helping with our luggage. We were very pleased and will continue using Carmel.

Great ride from JFK to Queens. Driver was courteous and quick. miraculously he found me at JFK which was extremely busy. Very important to provide a good description of what you look like and are wearing as the arrival curb was slammed. I highly suggest Carmel for transport to/from airport.

We used Carmel 2days ago to go from the upper west side to JFK. The driver arrived at our apartment 10 minutes early. We were on our way in a flash. The car was spotless, the diver was courteous and efficient. We arrived in 40 minutes. We couldn t be more pleased.

This limousine service has the worst customer service and is completely unreliable. Save yourself the hassle and DO NOT BOOK THEM. We booked a car a week in advance and expected them to pick my family up (including luggage and my sick dad) from the airport in a timely manner. As soon as we got to baggage claim we called and this company assured us they would be there to pick us up and specified where to meet. We called them when we arrived at our meeting point and they put us on hold. They told us they would be there "shortly" but would not specify a time. What was our drivers name? Could we contact him personally? A driver had not even been assigned to us! We waited for thirty minutes on and off hold and not ONE SINGLE APOLOGY. Customer Service: F. Do not book this company. They are unreliable. They are rude. They clearly don't care about their customers. Lyft and Uber saved the day and saved us a pretty penny too!

I have used Carmel for myself and family in NYC since 2008 and they have ALWAYS done an excellent job. On time, easy to communicate with, and very reasonable prices for the service provided. Highly recommend!

Although I am receiving a $10 reward for writing this review I would recommend Carmel car service even without this inducement. I found my experience to be very satisfying. I was promptly picked up at my residence and taken quite a distance it to Long Island. The ride and the driver was excellent and the price was reasonable for the distance traveled. I highly recommend Carmel. Carmel is my first choice for a car service.

We were able to grab our luggage earlier than expected. The CARMEL car was early and there when we were ready. The app was so easy to use and I loved the one click button to alert the driver we had picked up our bags. Muhammad was an excellent driver and knew the city very well. After too many experiences watching the little car on my Uber or Lyft app not getting closer while time was of the essence, I switched to using Carmel for those really high priority trips - getting to to airport early in the morning, etc. They were really easy to book in advance, worked perfectly, and would arrive at my home early. This is my honest opinion. But apparently I will also receive a discount from Carmel on my next trip for posting this review, so to be transparent I disclose that here.

I have been a customer for many years. Carmel has always been a dependable car service that has taken me where I need to go and has also picked me up for the return trip.

I have had the pleasure of using Carmel on a recent visit to NYC. As this was only a day trip, time was of the essence. The pick up at La Guardia was seamless and concise directions were given in order to locate the driver. The service was most professional and our driver had us into the heart of Manhattan within 30 minutes.
I booked Carmel for the return to La Guardia and was most satisfied. Our driver met us right on time and despite the traffic encountered, he drove us to the terminal with time to spare for the flight home.

I enjoyed using Carmel, felt safer and more official than a rideshare app however. My only very small issue was with being able to apply my coupon code to my reservation. The instructions for how to do so was not clear and could not be applied after the reservation was made which was disheartening but I know better for next time.

I have had problems with them in the past, rude drivers showing up late and horrible cars but I kept giving them a chance. This morning I received a text telling me my car would be 10 minutes late after 20 min delay I called. They told me my trip was canceled and they had no cars available. I asked well when where you going to tell me my car was not coming, they said sorry no cars. I made my reservation 24 hours in advance guess that is not enough time for them to take and fulfill the reservation. Never using them again.

My experience with Carmel is always Excellent! I fist starting using them to go to the airport in the 90"s. They are always a few minutes early and very professional. Highly recommend.

Awesome Experience. I have used Carmel for first time, This time, Traveling from JFK home to LGA with a lots of luggage and logistics to consider, Our driver was really patient and great, loaded the car in a jiffy. He even helped me bring up our luggage to the front door of our building. The MiniVan was clean and comfortable. We had a nice conversation too!

Under Covid-19 situation, this company is providing adequate policy to keep cars safe and clean. Thanks to it, I could ride a limo without any concern. Of course, the car picked me up on time at JFK airport on my way to home. Its website and text message service was convenient and easy for use.

I've used Carmel a few times over the years when arriving at JFK to get to Manhattan. Easy to book on line. Sometimes a bit tricky to let them know I've arrived at the terminal but overall, a good service.

I always call Carmel. Not only are they cheaper than Uber but you are driving in a true limo style car with a very professional driver who knows his way around and speaks perfect English. Sorry, but I have had Uber drivers who speak not one word of English and I couldn't give them extra directions when I needed to.
So having tried via and Uber, I am back to Carmel and sticking to them. They're the best!!

Took a Carmel to our hotel, scheduled earlier in the week through the app. Car was on time meeting us at the airport and took us to our destination with no issues. On our return to LGA, driver was a little early, which was wonderful! Driver Altaf was extremely polite and kind. He helped load our bags and opened the door to assist us. He double checked our destination and verified our gate and we were off. Drive to LGA was seamless. No issues and a smooth ride. He took us right to our gate and again assisted us with our bags. Super nice and great ride to the airport! We have used Carmel in the past but this was by far the nicest and most polite driver we have had. We have had excellent past experiences, and while today s was good, it was not at the level of our past experiences. Our driver didn t speak English, so it was very hard to even communicate regarding paying the bill. Once we finally reached an understanding that my husband would pay with a card, he thrust the phone at him in the backseat and said, You give tip! That bit of English he knew at least!

I have used this service four times now. The first three times were perfect! This last time the driver took a completely different way which involved a toll that I ve never had before and then demanded payment for the toll. In each trip I have stayed in the same area so a different route without a toll was possible all the other times. He then asked for a tip at the end. His English was very poor. Called me lady. Hey lady pay toll. Just not a great experience this time around.

Every time I have to travel for work, Carmel is my go-to. I live in Westchester County where Uber/Lyft/local cab companies are hard to come by, let alone come all the way here to take me to the city. The app is really handy and the drivers are always friendly and experienced.

I ve been using Carmel car service for about 20 years and it s the only car service I ever use in NYC. My mom, who visits from Buffalo, also regularly uses the service. I ve recently begun using the Carmel app, which makes booking even easier. What I love about Carmel is that they are very very reliable. They are always on time - most often, they are even there for pick up early - and all the drivers I ve had have been polite and respectful. Cars are clean and drivers are safe. I ve mostly used them for airport rides but, recently, I ve used them for in-city transportation during my mom s visit. I was pleasantly surprised that fares were comparable to other services and the service was equally reliable. Carmel is definitely my go-to car service in NYC! Convenient pick up - though connecting at Liberty Airport was challenging!

Carmel Driver cancelled pickup 10 minutes before scheduled time. Leaving me stranded before a trip. I call and email customer service to get a credit and APOLOGY, no response. With the amount of car services, don't use this one. The lack of customer service says it all that they don't even care to call back or email a customer.

This was my first time with Carmel. After looking at several options, I selected Carmel to transport my group of 5 with luggage from JFK to our Midtown hotel. The driver was there quickly and with the identification info sent by Carmel, I was able to recognize the vehicle immediately. Traffic was awful, but our driver was excellent - very professional and seemed to know several ways to avoid traffic. I have three more trips scheduled with Carmel during our visit to NYC and will continue to use them in the future. They are the best and I strongly recommend them

Right on time . Good driver. Spacious and clean and comfortable car

Used Carmel to pick-up at airport this weekend. The driver arrived 5 mins after I called to inform dispatcher I had my bags. Carmel prices does not change like Uber and Lyft after booking. It does not matter if there is traffic or more demand for car service. The price you booked at is the price you pay. I will use them every time I need ride to and from airports.

The driver was on-time, car was clean, & the trip was smooth. However, when we arrived to the airport the driver asked me for a tip! Not smooth and rude. I will leave a tip if I wish and on my own time.

Though, he demanded that I leave it while I was still in the car. This stunned me. I had the link to close the drive at my own leisure. After paying $70+ ... It's my decision whether to leave a tip or not. Since when does anyone demand a tip? He was not the friendliest driver ...

The service is very professional. They answer their phone promptly, take your reservation and email to confirm it. Their drivers are very courteous and professional. Drivers are always masked. Great company to deal with, they are very reliable.

I use Carmel alot for airport trips and got my son's trips to school in long island. Always on time and always professional. Never a bad experience.

I just took Carmel from the city to Newark airport. The driver arrived a few minutes early and was helpful and courteous. He played lovely music and honestly, it was the most relaxing hour of my day today. I had planned to read, but instead closed my eyes and relaxed before the chaos of the airport. I will definitely use Carmel Cars again.

I called, as directed, when I had my luggage. They told me exactly where to stand and what type of car to look for. I was sent a text with that info, too. I was updated by text. When the car pulled up, it had my name in the window which helped tremendously in identifying my car!! The best!!

Carmel is the only car service I use in city. I took a cab from work as I was not feeling well. The driver decided that he wanted to proceed according to directions from a particular app, but when I showed him my directions were faster, he was willing to switch to my directions. I have used other car services but I receive great service from Carmel. I will continue to be as long as they continue to provide excellent customer service.
