Bought a brand new air conditioning unit in 2017 a...

Bought a brand new air conditioning unit in 2017 and I bought the 5-year warranty. Everything worked great at first but then randomly the AC would stop Cooling for an hour or two here and there. Sometimes it would break for an entire day and then it magically starts working again. I have had technicians come out to look at it several times no one can ever figure out what's wrong with it they always just leave and say if it does it again give us a call. I'm currently sitting here with a broken air conditioner I guess I'll call and have a technician come out for the 7th time in two years.

We have had wonderful experiences with A#1 Air. Their call center is very responsive, and the technicians have been professional. Christopher Brown came to check on our AC unit, and I was very impressed with his knowledge. He gave us multiple options, and could envision various ways to create a better system for our home and needs. I would recommend A#1 Air to friends, and please don't change your jingle :)

A-1 Air came in a timely manner, but the very first thing is that the customer service person told the repairman that we were a "check up" for our system when we clearly told her it was broken. My husband and I were not amused that A-1 Air torched (yes, torched) the fan blade to get it off so it was not reparable. So I sent him packing - and got nothing fixed for our fee. Then Milestone came out for more ($99) and saw the torched fan blade - also not able to get parts on a Saturday. They wanted us to spend $8000+ for a new system we didn't need. We told them we just wanted our old system fixed so they estimated $800+ - on Saturday for the parts which magically jumped up to more than $1400 on Monday. After all of that, Dallas Plumbing came out and fixed it for less than $600. Here's the bottom line, the air conditioning business is a racket. And if they think you are desperate enough, you will pay anything to get it fixed. Remember those that advertise on TV are making you pay for it in the end.....

I would like to give this company 6 stars, but 5 is the most allowed by Facebook. The sixth star belongs to Brian Y. who helped us with an issue we recently had. My faith in this company is 100%. They have great technicians that will fix any and all problems ASAP and are courteous, dependable, prompt, and hard working. We have had two systems installed and maintained by them for many years now and both are still preforming as well as they did on day 1. Last winter we also had them do a kitchen facet replacement. The old one was rusted so badly that I didn't think that anything would get it off, but their guys did and installed the new one. I was amazed, I thought it was going to take explosives to get the old one out. So, if you have a need for any of the types of service they provide, don't hesitate, give them a call.

We experienced issues with our A/C and wants to check it before something more serious went wrong. I called A#1 Air for an appointment. They were able to schedule us for the same day. Our technician, Cameron, arrived at about 1:30pm. He quickly identified a minor issue with our unit. He repaired it, checked for other issues, and cleaned the outside units. The price was reasonable and the experience was exceptional. I've used A-1 for years and will continue to recommend them highly.

Adolfo Guajardo was great, really great. He provided options for repairing the aging A/C and had my personal finances in mind, no hard selling just presented fact based decision criteria.

Adolfo crawled in the attic and found a clogged drain that was backing up into a drain pan about to rust through; saved me a lot of time and money.

Based on my experience and the value it provided I signed up for an annual membership.

Peter Oti-Nkrumah is outstanding. I cannot rate him highly enough! He was not only professional and hard working, but also honest and straightforward. He arrived on the day, as promised, even though he was unable to come before 9PM. He worked until midnight, showing us what he was doing the entire time and explaining the process as he went. You can tell that he genuinely cares about his work and about his customers. I will definitely use A#1 Air again, and I'm going to request Peter every time.

Heard their commercial on the radio so I gave them a call. My heat hasn t been working for a few days. Not knowing how it works or if it s unsafe or not, since it hasn t been working I just left it off until someone could come out. Tech comes out on Saturday and as my luck would have it he turns it on to test it and it s working just fine. Tech goes outside for a few minutes then comes back in and says the compressor is bad and needs replaced. Quote was $8,000 or another option is $14,000 for a whole new system install. My neighborhood was built in 1998 all homes have original systems outside, mine was updated 7yrs ago with a big high efficiency Lennox. I highly doubt I need a new system. I m willing to bet money on it. Tech left and since then my heat has been on 24hrs a day at 73 degrees upstairs and downstairs and it s worked perfectly. I don t know why it didn t last week but it s been flawless so far. I figured the tech that came out was just trying to make a big sale. What prompted me to write this review is I got a text from the assistant sales manager saying they re in my area with a crew with nothing to do and will give me a good deal on a complete new system install. That s when I knew this place was a fraud. Instead of fixing stuff for a couple hundred dollars here and there, they make much more money with $14,000 full system replacements. They ll just hit the jackpot on a poor soul that doesn t know any better. Never ever will I use them again and everyone I talk to or meet will also know about this.

A#1 Air installed our system in 2018. Since then we ve enjoyed comfortable climate in our home. They come twice a year to perform routine maintenance. They do solicit additional products & services every time they come but it s not high pressure sales.

This Company s ad need to no longer be run on TV because it s all a scam and overrated. One of the crooked techs from A1 Air came to my home to do an estimate on our air handling unit and put tape over the unit so it would stop working. Well it did exactly that until we went behind him traced his steps and removed the tape he put on to the button of the air unit. We took photos! People just don t have integrity or know moral these days. The better the job done the more credible you are as a company and I wouldn t recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Selling our home and wanted to change out some faucets. Also wanted to have drains cleaned just because . Mark G showed up and said there was no need to have drains cleaned unless there was a problem. He wasn t going to charge me for that. We would also need power flushing which is what it sounded more like I wanted anyway. They don t do that. Honesty from the start. He happily replaced all 3 fixtures, Did unclog a slow draining sink and he cleaned up and was done in a couple hours. Excellent service and a really nice guy!!! Hopefully they service further north where we are moving too!!! I would certainly use them every time!!!

I wanted to give a shout out to A#1 Air. They have serviced my home for several years and have always done an amazing job! This week I had my regular bi-annual maintenance on my air conditioner. The technician was Robert Johnson. He did a great job, but he took the time to take photos of some areas of concern with my system. He explained things so thoroughly and helped me to realize I needed to get these parts replaced now, rather than wait for a breakdown this summer when it s 110 degrees! He then replaced the parts, showed me the old defective parts and then showed me the difference in how the new shiny parts looked. He also explained about a new filter that can be placed directly on the equipment in the attic that will clean the air there and I no longer have to change the filters on the return air vents,

Once again, I'm sitting at my computer in the cool air, appreciating the professional, courteous, timely, very reasonably priced service of A #1 Air. I have never dealt with any other service company that has beat A #1 Air in any area! They really know their customers & do as much as they can to accommodate them. I explained that I have Multiple Sclerosis & I can't tolerate the heat, as it affects my ability to walk. They placed me on the list ASAP & even though the tech got here very late in the evening I was not charged overtime. 24/7....the price is always the same. Our tech Brandon C. was awesome. Explained everything step-by-step & offered options. Wore his booties every time he entered the house, even when I told him he didn't have to. (We have no carpet.) Very personable....my husband found out he was also USMC & they did their Marine Ooh-Rah's together.....LOL......when my husband offered his fellow Marine a beer, Brandon politely declined, stating that he was in the company vehicle.

I would recommend A #1 Air to all of my friends & family in the D/FW area!

He has been very patient and informative in explaining our options to make immediate repairs while working to provide cost saving measures. Sam thoroughly tested the unit to provide solutions to improve production. Insufficient return air from the builder cutting corners was causing overwhelming work to the unit. Sam is a great guy that is very trustworthy and strives to provide the very best. First rate technician and a great asset to A#1 Air!

Don't trust this company. Service tech rewired a zone board so the fan would stay running. Wanted to charge $900 for a new board. The board only cost $154 shipped through a local HVAC supply company. Luckily last night I did research and found my problem.

Firs off, the equipment is great and the installers were awesome. My complaint is with the Sales Rep. As I read many other reviews, I do believe my sales rep was a little deceptive. My advice to others is to be careful with the 'Apples to Apples' pitch. I thought the estimate was a little high but with a leaking unit in the attic I made the decision to move forward. The sales rep advised that I can get quotes via email. Come to find out a company will not provide a written quote without coming out to the resident. Company's will not make it a priority to come out to quote a installation if there isn't any value in it for them.

When I told the Sales Rep about my issue and I wanted to cancel the duct cleaning I had schedule in hopes to recoup some money. He quoted me $1675 for the duct work. His reply back was Ok, I will cancel the cleaning and process a credit for $1400. No my apologies or anything.

The sales rep was very good at using the owners as a tool for integrity. The owners are probably full of integrity but their sales rep isnt. As a Air Force Veteran, this is my first time leaving a comment in such a manner.

Dane Jogernsen was our Tech Rep. We had a noise coming out of the blower fan. He diagnosed the problem correctly the first time. He ordered the part, unfortunately, the ordered part was a defect. Dane was extremely courteous to drive up all the way to Fort Worth to hand pick the part and returned within an hour and half. I must, A#1 and their employees are very professional. I would recommend this company any day. Ask for Dane, if you can.

I purchased an $8000 system the sales person told me on Thursday that the crew would arrive first thing Monday morning at 8 AM
the crew arrived at 1:30 PM after an hour that crew left because of a medical emergency the next crew stayed until 730 told my friend that they were done my friend has post concussion syndrome and cannot handle a hot home five minutes after they left power to the unit went out. I called customer service chandra told me the crew said ran them of.. absurd ive a security cam observed everything

Normally I don't write reviews unless the service is extraordinary. We had our A/C unit shutting down for over a week now and I finally called A#1. Abdiel Barrera was the technician that was assigned. He walked in and identified the problem as soon as I explained it to him. He was pleasant to work with, had good customer service skills and had lot of tips for making sure the unit runs in top condition. I wish all the HVAC companies hire these kind of technicians who know what they are doing. A big shout out to Abdiel and A#1. I highly recommend them.

When we discovered that one of our AC units had met its "life expectancy," we decided to consult with other providers prior to making our final decision. A#1 Air was one of the four companies identified. Scheduling an appointment was extremely easy, and Alan Taylor, the company representative, was actually ten minutes early for the appointment.

After visiting with Alan and sharing my expectations, he went to work. I was very impressed with his thoroughness as well as his expertise. He took his time, answered any and all questions and told me his goal was to earn my business. While my wife and I are still in the decision-making phase, the early preference is A#1 Air, and it is largely a result of Alan Taylor.

Earlier today, I discovered that one of the older units in our home was not cooling properly. After checking to make sure that none of the breaker switches had been tripped, I called A#1 Air. Having had such good experiences with this company during the first unit we purchased from them, the choice to return was an easy one. Thankfully, they were able to schedule an appointment the same day.

When Patrick C arrived, he introduced himself, asked me to describe the problem, and then asked to see the outdoor unit. He went to work immediately and after he had made his inspections, returned to the house to discuss what he had found. Pat told me that he could make the repair and gave me the cost. However, when I asked, he also told me it would likely be a short-term fix largely because of the age of the unit. To make an informed decision, this is the information I needed to have.

After discussing the various options, my wife and I decided to purchase a replacement unit. Because of the way A#1 conducts its business, the majority of the time was spent discussing the pros and cons of the various brand choices. We found Patrick to be extremely knowledgeable and he answered the questions in terms anyone could understand.

If an individual has air conditioning needs, I would highly recommend that A#1 be seriously considered. Without question, they are a first-rate company.

I called A1 Air on Christmas Eve because my system wouldn t heat. They got me on the schedule for a repair the same day because I m a member of their service plan. The Tech, Logan, worked on my system for an hour and then said it was working. There was no charge either for the work or the service call. Logan was cheerful and helpful and even gave my son s dog a treat. A great guy and one that makes me want to stay with A1 Air.

Be aware with this company. The only reason I'm sharing this is to inform. I'm not saying don't use this company. Use your own judgment.
Tech came in got into the attic to see my unit, 3 minutes later came down and said I just need a new unit, didn't even open the unit since I'm watching him from downstairs all I saw him put two thermometers one in the incoming air and one in the outgoing air and said "you just need a new unit" and said to me he was going to send me a sales person whom will explain to you the prices of new units. I asked why if he didn't even open the unit, he said if he open it was going to be more money. I was surprised to hear more money!! even though I was told by phone i was getting their best package I was paying for what they called the ultimate tune up for $149.00 dls to which it should included 2 pounds of freon. He went to the outside unit plugged in couple of hoses for no more then 2 minutes and said he added two pounds of freon and said my unit need 3 more pounds of freon at $ 90.00dls per pounds. That's 270.00dls more on top of the already charge for a grand total of $419.00dls. He asked if I want them, I told him no. I paid his $149.00dls and asked him to leave.
First, if you said my unit is not working anymore what makes you think I need to buy from your company a new unit. Also Why would you offer me to add three more pounds of freon once you saw I was not interested in buying a new unit from your company. All about Sales.
Second, I'd called another A/C company the same day, they came checked the unit and found a small leak. Fixed the leak added only 1.5 pounds of freon at 40.dls per pound. (1.5 pounds only) not three like stated by #1 air guy. And problem fixed. My A/C now running like a Champs!!! Thanks for nothing #1 AIR . Again this is my personal experience with #1 AIR company. This doesn't mean you shouldn't contact them. Use your own Judgement. To me this company is all about Sales,Sales,Sales. But I guest that's how they make their money. You might got 149.00 from me today but you will never get another dollar from me, my whole family, or any of my friends since I'm Sharing this with everyone.

The tech wanted me to fill out a piece of paper and email it back. To Hell with that so wife called OC services and they came out within thirty minutes and had AC repaired in fifteen minutes. To have your Memorial Day Weekend start off with a dead A/C unit is not a great start. After finding out that my 10 yr old unit needed a new compressor, the choice had to be made just replace the unit or change out the system. Seeing that I had already replaced the fan motor, put freon in it, now the compressor, I made the decision to just replace the system. I called several dealers, and a couple came out and said it would be Tuesday before they could get me any information. I did research and got an idea on what I would be looking at. I called A#1 Air on Saturday, and they scheduled Kurt Kellum to come out. Kurt was very knowledgeable and was very helpful in answering questions about the different systems. It was a big purchase decision but in the end, I felt I received a great unit for a fair price, and it will be installed on Monday, Memorial Day......It been a long humid weekend and I can't wait for Monday to get here....but I want to thank A#1 Air and Kurt for taking care of my A/C problem, and I look forward to working with the A#1 Air for years to come............Thank You Charles R. Technician David did a great job even in hot and humid circumstances. He arrived only a little while after our original call and stayed to make sure the job was done well. He was finished replacing our capacitor speedily and made our house cool again! I highly recommend this company.

I have an infant at home, and with the triple digit temps and no cool air coming through the vents, I needed a pro to come check out my system and look for problems. I scheduled the super tune-up for $300 (essentially a service fee, an hour of labor, and 2 pounds of refrigerant if needed.) I had to be at work at time of service, and my wife was home alone with my infant daughter. The technician (who was courteous and professional) found that we had a capacitor that was causing our condenser fan to go out. keep in mind that most capacitors are between $30 and $60 and are ridiculously easy to replace. I completely understand that businesses have to make a profit, and expected to take a hit even though it was an easy fix. But who can justify and additional $300 to slap on a capacitor, a job that didn't take 5 min to preform, and conducted by someone who is already making a profit for a tune-up?! The tech wasn't at my house for longer than an hour, yet charged me $600 for an inspection and a capacitor (as no refrigerant was needed, and no other repair preformed.) This is absolute ludacris! I will certainly not be using them again, and I would not recommend trusting them to be fair with you.

I have been using A-1 Air for my air condition needs for many years. They come out twice a year for AC checks.
Customer service is very good. They call before the come, they send a picture of the technician (good Idea for safety) and they followup after the technician completes the task at hand.

Technician was lacking in knowledge of HVAC.
Technician perform tune-up and broke my power disconnect switch. Then proceeded to try and take the power disconnect switch out with a regular screwdriver that was not insulated I had to stop him and tell him let me turn the power off the breaker for his own safety, I did not want him to get hurt and run the risk of electrocuting himself.
Then second technician arrived. And told me that I had to pay for the power disconnect switch to be fixed. After some time of the discussion and difficulty the technician finally agreed not to charge me for the power disconnect switch that was broken by the first technician. I also felt like some of your prices were very unreasonable. A technician told me I could use a new capacitor battery. He told me it would be $295 for installation. When I looked up the capacitor battery it was only $9 for the part. I felt like that was a very unreasonable markup. Then the second technician that it came was going to install a new Dual Zone board by Honeywell for me. But after some time and difficulty it seemed that he was not familiar with the product. And his solution was for me to change it out to a different Zone board and a different Louver as he had indicated that they were both broke. This was an inaccurate assessment. The technician quoted me $3,500 to fix my problem.I had a second opinion and another HVAC technician come out from another company he was able to install my zone board and determine what the actual problem was at a very reasonable price he had fixed my problem for only $300.
Needless to say I will never use your company again it was my first and last time.

Called in the order to have my AC unit serviced Monday morning at 6:00 am. Coit came out on time and identified a bad breaker that was preventing the compressor from coming on. Coit scheduled Electrician Zach to come out the next day. Zach arrived Tuesday morning and replaced the breaker. Everything is working fine. I will recommend A#1 Air to my friends and clients.

Had to have my hole unit replaced, all wires where covered and sealant placed around all the open holes, to ensure that weather wouldn't be a problem. Service was great, but communication is lacking. I received one call from their permits department saying they have yet to schedule the inspection for the city. They left a message to which I promptly called back. When you call the number they give you it takes you through their phone tree. When you get to the permit department it goes to their voicemail. I left 2 voicemails for them and never heard back until they sent me a letter in the mail saying that they have been trying to reach me. I finally called their general customer service and agreed to a day and time. We agreed on a morning time, but I called them back to reschedule to afternoon. They never put in the new request with the city. Fast forward to today and I have the inspector at my door this morning and nobody is home. I was able to get his cell phone number and call him directly to reschedule.

This unit was installed over 2 months ago and this part has been a little annoying to deal with. I hope their service moving forward is better!

I've been a customer of A#1 since replacing my HVAC 5 years ago and have faithfully had routine maintenance twice per year since. My fall service was done in December (hard to get it scheduled with my crazy work schedule). After a very thorough evaluation, the technician had suggestions that would improve the comfort of the house, and improve air quality. One of the work items that I had done was to replace my attic insulation. It was not cheap and my hope was to see a difference in heating cost. After an extended power outage (40 hours with an exterior temperature as low as 8 degrees), I can vouch for a more valuable benefit. When the power came back, my house was 45 degrees. Many of my neighbors said their homes were in the 30s. I think the improved insulation kept my house, my pipes safer. Every moment of my experience has been great. I spoke with Mark and let him know my situation. Next thing I know, Toby & JP were headed my way within the hour. When they got there they asked what I was lookin for, then checked my indoor and outdoor units. After that, they showed me where the problems were and wrote down a few options for me. I was a little indecisive at first, but they explained all of the terminology, pros and cons, and put my mind at ease. I made my decision on which systems to go with and they were able to set up a next day installation!!!

Guillermo came to my house the next morning. (Way Earlier than expected) which was a pleasant surprise. He and his partner took my old system out & installed the new one. They worked fast, and were a lot quieter than I expected. I sat and did some work downstairs, the next thing u know, they were done. They walked me through the operation of the new system and even came back a little later because I was having a problem upstairs. A #1 Air was an amazing experience from beginning to end! I'll recommend them to any and everyone that asks.

From our first contact with Chris (original tech and specialist) to our install team headed by Dave. Best experience. It was a complicated install due to space limitations and they met every expectation and we are now cool and comfortable. They are a true 24 hour service company!

We got multiple bids and simply could not be happier with the service we have received. The attic looks like a jungle up there with all the new duct work (meaning we have awesome air now! and it took hours of thoughts on how to do it from Chris and Dave and do it right!). Work was done to code with permits. We will be a happy life time customer as A#1 Air will be with us forever with their amazing warranties.

Was going to over charge me on parts and service. Quoted 1200 dollars for a part and installing it. I went online and found it for 75 dollars took all of 30 minutes to install myself . These guys will RIP you off big time.

I would rate them NO stars if I could. We use to belong to their membership club where they check your air conditioning units twice a year. NO MORE! The tech this time said both units were leaking Freon, both need the coils replaced and both units needed fan motors, and capacitors plus the hardstart needed to be replaced. All at the same time.... and both units! What s the chances of that all happening at the same time? What a lucky day for the tech that receives a commission off the invoice! And just by chance the company just so happens to have a sale going on for new units! Never seen such a blatant fraud of stacking a repair invoice. On top of that the tech said the system was down to 30% of its Freon. We had a different company come fill the Freon and it was only down a HALF POUND! Out and out lie about the Freon. STAY AWAY from this company!

I had an extremely bad experience with this company:

Schedule: First of all, they only commit to a 4-hour time slot for the inspection visit (like a cable or telephone service provider) unlike so many others that give a fixed time. I had called a couple of days in advance to have them take a look at a non-functional AC; the person I spoke to promised to have the tech keep me as the first visit of the day so that he could arrive before 10 am. However, on the day of the visit, I received multiple calls indicating every time that the tech had a few calls ahead of me and was getting delayed. Finally, the tech arrived just around noon, 4 hours after the expected time.

Attitude: After 4 hours delay, there was no apology or even any attempt at it. In fact, the person who visited was downright curt in his demeanor and was very reluctant to answer any questions clearly. He made some attempt to find out what the issue was (unsuccessfully for one AC unit) and only gave quotes for several optional part replacements without confirming if the problem will be fixed. Even in that, he quoted $350 for a component that I can buy online for under $40. When asked why is it so expensive he started responded angrily that the company needs to make money to pay for expenditures, health insurance for employees, etc. For the other AC unit, one of the suggestions was a complete replacement of the AC. When asked about lower cost alternatives to that, he was very rude and just shrugged his shoulders.

I would never go with company (A#1 Air) again, nor would I recommend to anybody else. Instead, I ended up with Air Comfort Solutions (ACS) where the experience was completely opposite, the person actually cared. He spent time to find out/explain what the issue was, and determined the lowest cost option to replace the appropriate component.

I had an A #1 air technician come to my house because the air handler was not blowing air through the vents. He quickly assessed the problem and told me it was the blower motor, and quoted me over 1800 dollars, and that it would take an hour and a half to install the new motor. I contacted another company, and they found that it was not the motor, but the motor module. He had in installed in 15 minutes once he found the OEM part. The actual cost for parts and labor was around 900. Half of what A#1 quoted. This is my first experience with A#1, so I don't know if the technician, David, was inexperienced, or if this is something that happens all the time, but I am not impressed with their assessment work. Hopefully this was a one off case. So that it is not all negative, they did arrive on time.

We have been a member of their service program for a number of years and we find them to be one of the strongest service businesses. Sam handled our quarterly today and found a few things to keep an eye-on but nothing urgent. Past experience with other companies would've ended with a service charge plus charge for freon... and potentially a flushed line. I appreciate their candor and Sam's level of professionalism.

Because I wanted him to clean the cold air space and he said that he ll wood sign up for your maintenance agreement. I am a senior citizen and have been trying to find a way. A year ago during a PM check of my unit, it was noted that my capacitor would need to be replaced soon. At the time it was working at an acceptable level. Tonight, it finally gave out and it was at 10:30pm on a Saturday night. Already armed with this information I called for service. Realizing that most service calls after hours would cost more, we signed up for the Maintenance plan which saved us a lot of money especially during the weekend and being so late at night. My technician was dispatched quickly and arrived on site with in the hour. We confirmed my capacitor was bad and they were able to get me back up quickly. The tech was very professional, already knew a lot about our neighborhood and the other units based on prior history. Even while it was completely pitch dark we also were able to get a check on the system after the capacitor was replaced to ensure it was operating at optimum efficiency. Thank you A#1 Air team for putting a great team out there to help people when needed no matter what time of day it is.
