The guys at A# 1 air we're awesome ,they did what they said they were going to do and when they said they were going to do it. I would recommend them to anyone who needs heating and air condition repairs and the price was right (They do honor there warranty) thank you A#1 air you're the best!!

We first used A#1 air six years ago, before moving out of our last house and had a great experience.
We didn t have a need for A/C service again until this year, as we had bought a new house.
In the spring of this year, we had an AC go out. So, we called A#1. I don t recall the cost to fix, but it was worthwhile at the time to get the discount of purchasing their service plan (on three units) - which was somewhere in the neighborhood of $900. This got us a 10% discount and a second service check in the fall on each of the units. It also gets you a $20 service call in the event of an issue.
On 8/16, there was a large storm that went through the area. That night we did notice the AC outside our bathroom sounded louder than usual.
The next day the upstairs area was hot. So, we called A#1. They asked if we had a home warranty. I said, oh, we actually do. She went on and said it would be the next day before they could come out. So, I said, ok, so how does the home warranty work? She told me that they don t have any relationship with any home warranty services. I said, well, why did you even ask then? She said, so you can file with them and see if they will reimburse you. But, she didn t even say that initially. I had to ask the leading questions in order to learn that.
So, the next day the guy comes out. He says we need a new compressor at $3,450 - none of the valves inside the compressor could open and close properly. We were not happy, as we are literally in the process of moving. So, he asked if it was under warranty. We said no, it s 6 years old. He said he had an email in to his office to research it.
Magically, it came back that we DO have a warranty, so our cost would only be $2150.
We decided it was worth holding off since we had the home warranty (through our realtor) and get a second option.
We opened a ticket with the warranty service and paid the $75 service fee on line. The company called immediately and said they could come out the next day.
The guy came out and we didn t tell him we had had anybody out so he could reach his own conclusions.
He immediately asked who had been there. My husband told him what had transpired. He said the A#1 guy had turned the fuse upside down, so there was no way it could come on.
The new service guy put it back on correctly, turned on the AC and it was working.
He said we likely had a power surge during the storm, which can cause these issues. They just need to be shut off for a period of time and they automatically re-set themselves.
And the kicker... our AC does NOT even have valves inside the compressor - the ones the A#1 guy said couldn t open and close .
We have put in two calls to A#1 Air, and been told both times, we would get a call back. The last call was 10 days ago.
We were told that our service plan was canceled now - with no mention of when or how or if there would be a refund - that would be discussed when they call us back after researching this disturbing situation.
So, at this point, two weeks from the service call we have no news on any refund.
See below photos of the invoices. Being that I m a nice person, I ve covered up the A#1 guys phone number, even though he s at worst a crook and at best, incompetent.
We paid Zero to the second company in addition to the $75 fee I paid on line, and he said the unit was very clean.
**update** After finally talking to Cory Jackson on 9/5, he agreed to discuss with his manager, a full refund of our service agreement ($432 paid in April for service of our 3 units for spring and fall) plus a service agreement for the next year (like we would actually let them into our home ever again) on our new house. He was going to call my husband back with the confirmation the following week.
But, of course we got no call back from Cory. We DID however, receive an email on 9/11 saying that they had processed a refund of $144 to our credit card.
Wait.. what?? How does that math even work?? No explanation whatsoever.

A#1 Tech comes out to diagnose a non operational indoor blower. Spends about 4 minutes in the attic and says I need 2 new systems because they re both old. Quotes me $4k to fix the blower and $20k to replace both systems. He hard wired the blower to the 120v and said he couldn t guarantee the blower would last and it would probably burn up over the weekend.

Had a second contractor come out, say the systems were old and inefficient, but not to the point of needing replacement. Problem was the control board. 30 minutes and $200 later the AC is working perfectly. The second contractor also checked refrigerant levels and cleaned the coils. He said that he saw no indications of either system not making it through the summer.

Don t know if the tech was trying to scam me and cash a big commission check, or he really thought the systems were on their last legs. Either way, buyer beware and get a lot of opinions before you do business with this company.

At the start of cold weather, found the heating unit for the bedrooms wasn't working. Called a#1, they had someone come by that day. My 13 year old contractor unit had finally had it, Patrick showed me options and financing for a new unit. Terry Robbins and assistant came and replaced it the very next morning and were done by well before dinner time. Cleaned up anything on the floor from opening the attic door, like they were never here, except now can sleep without freezing, and kids can do online school work in their rooms in comfort. This is the second unit I've had them put in, and when the 3rd finally gives way, will surely call them again.

I've been an avid Ticket listener for 25 years, so thought I'd give you a chance to give me a quote on 2 new systems (5 ton/3 ton 16 seer, 2 stage heat pumps). I contacted you via chat feature on your website and was promptly texted - which was great. I then texted with dispatch that said someone would come between 2-5 PM to give me a quote on 2 completely new systems. NOT ONLY DID YOU NO-SHOW YOU DIDN'T EVEN CONTACT ME AND I CANCELED PLANS TO BE HOME ALL DAY. That evening I texted back with dispatch to let them know I was no-showed and very unhappy AND STILL RECEIVED NO RESPONSE BACK AFTER THE NO-SHOW. You've now lost out on a $14,000 to $25,000 job depending on what we choose this week from your competition because of your lack of professionalism. Just a heads up to others on deciding who to use -call Tom's Mechanical in Arlington.

They came out a year ago. We did have to reschedule a month later. When they came out for just a service call, all the guy did besides clean was push for the monthly service fee. Then because there as a bit of oil around the fan, which is normal according to other ac guys, it looked like I was going to need a new $2000 unit. Mine was about to go out.

Funny thing is the unit did stop cooling, but I just need a new cap where the freon goes and more freon. which all costed me $150.00. I was told by this other guy my machine is in excellent condition.

I called A#1 air for a quote for a new air conditioning system. I was very surprised to hear them say that they will have a guy out to my house in about 30 minutes. I was truly expecting them to say next week some time. When they arrived they were very professional, they walked the outside of the home and inspected my units. I was very impressed by both of them and they appeared very knowledgeable on the air conditioning systems. The one thing that made me go with A#1 versus the other competitors was the warranty that they were offering at the time. 16 years parts and labor. I would recommend this crew as well as the technicians Juan and Johnathan that came out to do the install. All were very professional.

I called for service on my furnace. The tech was out in about 1 hour. He correctly diagnosed the problem in about 10 minutes but said he needed a very difficult to get part and the repair would cost $297. He said he would order it and get back to us. I called the service number about 2 hours later and they said the part was ordered but they had no idea when it would be in. Since it was supposed to get very cold the next day, I googled the part number and found it for sale in about 10 different locations here in Dallas. I went about 2 miles and bought it myself for $35. Then when I got home I installed it my self. It required inserting 1 screw and plugging two wire connections together. So, A-1 was going to make me wait several days and pay $297 for 20 minutes worth of work by their tech and a $35 part. Seems literally like a scam to me. If they had visited my elderly parents and tried this stunt, someone would be going to jail.

Great service experience once again. Have not had a bad experience with any of the techs since the original installation of our unit. Every routine maintenance visit has been a pleasant one. Customer service team is great, always nice to talk to, and all of the techs are well-mannered, easy to talk to and understand. No high pressure tactics to sell add-ons but always there to point out things that we can do to make our units run more efficiently. Not the cheapest I'm sure but if quality means anything to you, don't hesitate to call them - I highly recommend.

Crew arived promptly at 9:00 am. They were courteous and professional. They put down canvas in our home so as not to track up the floors. All of the work was performed as the salesman had explained to us, everything appeared to be done with attention to detail. Our system is working great and is almost completely silent. We are very happy and hopefully our electric bills will reflect the high efficiency unit soon.

He didn't try to sell me anything more than I needed and he informed me of other issues he noticed, but again didn't see a reason to sell me on unneeded repairs! Highly recommended! I will be buying my next AC system from A#1 Air!

The outside faucet broke off which left us without water for one entire day. I called Saturday afternoon and they scheduled me for the next day Sunday. We had a mix up on the scheduling so it was a good thing I called to follow up on a time on Sunday. Otherwise I could give them 5 stars. Nathan was awesome. I tried to do the repair myself and he was very humble to not criticize. He is a great pro. He diagnosed the problem very quickly and had it fixed in a very short time. He explained everything he was doing and was very thorough.

It was time to replace my 2-AC units and one of my furnaces. They were all 20 yrs old. Manny came to my home around 11:30am on Thursday to discuss all of my options. We reached an agreement and by 12:30pm he was on the phone to his offices setting up an installation for the same afternoon. The service team comprised of Miguel, Francisco and Raul arrived to my home around 2:30-3:00pm. By 7:00pm this group disassembled and installed in their place 1-furnace and 2-AC units. They were professional in appearance and demeanor. They took great care to protect my floors and walls while moving equipment in and out of the house. When the job was completed they reviewed the overall installation, operation and safety precautions with me. I couldn't be more pleased with service and support from everyone involved in this project. I would highly recommend A#1 Air for all your heating and AC needs.

Firstly I found the work crews professionalism and work ethic was good. They installed the two units quickly and efficiently. The setup for the install to getting financing for it, streamlined and hassle free.

Now, the reason for my edit from Five Stars to Three; after waking up to a hot house this morning; I was able to schedule a technician to come out today to fix this issue promptly. And you are wondering why the two level drop; they installed both systems on the wrong breaker (simple mistakes happen I understand this, but install it correctly the first time). Execution is the reason for the drop.
Yes I would still recommend their services and yes I would use them again, but now I know to trust but verify.

I had a compressor failure in June 2015 in my outside unit. Called A#1 air to come out and take a look. Technician tried a kick start kit for the compressor as a temp fix. Wasn't going to work. So he orders a new compressor for my unit. Parts are under warranty but labor is not. Still cost $1100 to replace just a compressor. I was under the impression that companies were supposed to recover and reuse your refrigerant. If so then why charge $75/pound for my own refrigerant. Anyway new compressor is installed and everything is working great, until end of July and August hottest part of year. Evaporator (inside unit)starts freezing up and no air flow. Does this twice and each time it thaws it floods down stairs. It is an upstairs unit. Now I have Sheetrock in my dining room sagging because the cause of the freezing up is that the technician shorted me about 2lbs of refrigerant. It had enough in it to cool when it was below 90 OK but when it got over 95 it would freeze up. Did it twice this year. Had another company come out and check for leaks , A1 was backed up for a couple days and I didn't want to wait. No leaks, checked the pressures and found they were a little low. Added 2 pounds of refrigerant and everything is working good and no freezing up.

My service rating right now is solely based on Dustin Bryant's performance. He was courteous, professional and thorough with his heating system tune up. I purchased this system from A#1 air about 12 months ago and want to make sure that I keep up with the services. Dustin did an outstanding job and made sure that he had taken care of everything. IT was a great customer experience and as long as you continue to have employee technicians like Dustin servicing my system, I'll stay with a#1 Air.

A#1 Air is our GO-TO company for everything HVAC!! We purchase an annual membership for all 3 systems (less than an annual Spring tune-up!) and get not only the annual Spring tune-up but an annual Fall tune-up as well. PLUS, should something go wrong and we require a service call that membership gets us bumped to the top of the call list! The service technicians are always great. We get an email complete with photo of the technician to expect (great security)... each one has been very professional, personable and efficient. Thank you A#1 Air - and thank you SAM!!

There prices were outrageous. They recommend a bandaid repair to my system for $5000. Or they recommend I replay the entire system for about $14000. Because the outside unit and coil was bad. Both zoning in ng units needed replace and the computer mother board that controls the zones was fried. I had a small mom & pop company come to my home and installed a new outside and coil. Replaced some duct that had some moisture and mildew build up. Nothing was wrong with my zoning units and the computer motherboard .This new system only cost me $6000.00 Now my home is nice and cool and money saved. Make sure you call other companies and get estimates.

Wow, just amazing service and thorough work!! Honestly, these guys are great and they take pride in doing the job right. I felt like the pricing was super fair considering it was a complete replumb of my home's cast iron to PVC ~ $8k. My house is 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath, 2800 sqft on pier and beam. They were able to finish in a day and a half! Jeff L., the lead plumber, and Curtis were both super organized and friendly onsite. They both had a strong work dynamic and I never felt concerned things weren't getting done right, with both answering all my questions. Jeff and his crew worked in stages, only taking half my house plumbing offline at a time. Such great work that I am bringing them back to put in a PVC main line out the city sewer. The company stands by its work with a 10 year warranty. From my initial consultation to the final job done, this was a very pro customer forward experience. Highly recommend!!

Wife and I talked it over and scheduled for Sean to come out. I work as a satellite technician so my hours vary. Sean came out at 9 pm with Wes Castleberry the experience was awesome. If only more companies had employees like these guys they'd be in business forever. Same night a comfort specialist came out told us what we needed. He came to my job the next day so I could sign ppw. Tuesday 9:30am 4 installers showed up and got busy. We had AC by 3:30.Fast....friendly... Family type service.

I called A-1 Air, and they had a tech here in an hour David was a skilled and personable technician who troubleshot, diagnosed, then repaired each issue expertly. I am confident that should I experience any difficulties that A1 Air and especially David will stand behind their satisfaction guarantee as promised . I am extremely satisfied. They will get ALL of my future business .

Awful.....they described themselves as available 24/7...yet I had to wait 3 days for an appointment. They called the day of the appt and said they wouldn't make it because it was too damp outside...the sun was shining brightly at the time! They then urged me to book a time in late May. Much happer that I found another company...who came out same day (within 2 hours), fixed the problem in 20 minutes.

We requested a free duct cleaning estimate, and was very surprised with the amount of time they took to thoroughly inspect our systems, before suggesting the needed work/cleaning and cost associated.

Other companies sent questionable subcontractors, who spent less than 5 mins before throwing very very high numbers and they were uncomfortably pushy.

This is the 2nd home we've used A#1 Air for Duct cleaning, and highly suggest you do the same.

FIRST let me say you need some work on your review Network you should be able to put their name in if you don't find them the guy that helped me his NAME was JIMMY ADAMS he came out to do a simple job on Monday February 4th ended up working 10 to 12 hours came back the next day and worked up to 14 hours came the next day and work 8 to 10 hours until the job was complete and everything was working top notch.. at one point he stayed until 2 a.m. and he was so tired and I could see it on his face he worked the whole time he was here other than waiting one day for a part but he was always nice and courteous and answered all my questions , he is the type of service person you would want to come and help you with anything in your home. If I ever need work done on my AC or Heating I will definitely request Jimmy Adams and I would be willing to wait until he has the time to come and work on my unit but with him fixing it the first time I don't believe that I will have a problem at all.. I do believe Darius came and helped him the second day he was here

I asked them to come look at my AC. They found that a lizard had shorted 2 parts out. I agreed to the $600 charge on top of the $99 service charge. Amazingly, after the parts were replaced, the technician found that the compressor (working fine the day before) was now broken. I told him I did not want the new parts in if I was going to have to replace it. I sought a second opinion. When the second company came, they found the technician had cut the wires to the parts when he removed them. I was unable to even get a second opinion without costly repairs. I don't know what the technician's motives were, but he should NOT have cut the wires. I never agreed to getting a new unit from them. He should have left it exactly how he found it. Blatant or not, I pain $99 to have my unit essentially ruined. I had it replaced from a different company that gave me a quote about half of what the technician gave me (which I later found out he was not supposed to do). Bad experience all around.

I had a new AC system installed by A#1 Air on Thursday, August 1, 2019. It is now August 8, 2019 and I have a technician scheduled to come out for the 4th time since it was installed a week ago to perform work that was paid for and supposed to have been done last week during the initial install. But wait, it gets way better. Our system was installed on Thursday and it seemed to go very smoothly. My wife and I were getting ready to have our son on Friday, so I was glad to put our HVAC issues behind us and focus on having a baby the next day. Around 6:00 PM Thursday, my wife asked why I had the heater on, I said that I didn't, we have a 2 zone system and both had been running since the install had completed around 2:30 or so. I turned our upstairs thermostat up so that we could cool the house down on the first floor. Long story short, the zoning board had been wired incorrectly and the heater was stuck on which was clearly seen on the indicator lights on the zoning board. So I called our salesman and he contacted their office to get us a tech ASAP. The tech showed up around 8:30 and was here until 11:40 PM. Not only was the wiring done incorrectly, but our drain pan was overflowing with water due to the drain being installed incorrectly. So now there were 2 things that should have been checked by the installer that were "missed". I will say the tech that came out was great and very helpful, he also clarified these were things that just shouldn't happen on a brand new install. Fast forward to Sunday, we come home from the hospital with our new baby and the system just doesn't seem to be cooling the house. We replaced a 15 year old 5 ton system with a 4 ton system because we were told our house is not big enough for a 5 ton. We did have a lot of issues with our old system, thus we decided to replace it but despite the age and issues, that system did cool our home down pretty quickly and would actually cycle off. Our new system literally runs non-stop with it set at 76-78 during the day and it is not comfortable. At night I can't get it to cool down below 74, otherwise it will not shut off. Now, the plot thickens. We paid to have a return air enlarged and literally all that was done was the old 14x14 grill was replaced with an 18x18....it literally does nothing and I was told by the tech that came out yesterday, Wednesday, August 7, 2019 that the boot and duct should have been changed out. So now, I have this tech coming out to do work tomorrow that was paid for and should have been done during the initial install. But wait, there is more. Upon inspection on Wednesday, the tech found that the return air plenum was not even sealed on the back side, which means the system was sucking in 150 degree attic air for a week....makes you wonder if this was a "1 out of a 1000" install, or if they do this regularly to unsuspecting customers. I am beyond disgusted with this sloppy install. They did not clean up, they moved stuff around and didn't put it back, we paid to have a new duct added to our living room and the installer didn't want to do it but my wife showed him the contract and he reluctantly did it but refused to put it where we wanted because he said he didn't have access which is BS because there is nothing but attic above where we wanted it.

I understand mistakes happen and I do want to give A#1 Air a chance to make this right, but after all of the above, I was offered an extra year of Labor Warranty.....seriously???? What.a.joke. of a 100% satisfaction guarantee!!! My electric usage has doubled from last week to this week and I just paid 10k bucks for a brand new, more efficient system. I also have the owner's "personal" cell numbers, called and got sent to voicemail, left a message and I have not received a call back.

A#1 Air, I am giving you a chance to make this right, but an extra year of warranty is NOT going to do it. You should be ashamed to 1, employ such a shotty installer, and 2, act like an extended warranty fixes this situation. I will be more than happy to provide and updated review once this is resolved.

We purchased our AC unit and water heater back in March of this year, we had a number of issues with the water heater install, took a number of calls and technicians to resolve, the we started to have hardware problems with the AC unit, again a number of calls and technicians to fix it. Through the summer no problems, but now turning to winter starting to have issues with a unit less than 7 months old and the service desk telling me that the warranty is going to be running out soon does not give me any confidence for the future of issues that may arise.

They quoted cleaning ductwork after being asked to replace it. We went with clean and to also add an infrared air cleaner. After which- It no longer cooled. They came back out and said that it was because they installed the system incorrectly.
They left again and it still did not work. The system has since flooded our attic and master. Now they are saying it s Freon and/or a blocked drain. It worked perfectly before they cleaned the duck work and added a filter. All this happened in five days. Nightmare. They vd Promised that the owner would call us starting last Friday . Ok, so in October or November the heater went out. First time. 5 yr old furnace. Whole AC outside unit replaced by the company. Ok. Cool.

It s a service call. Okay. I get it. Guy gets here, says it s the thermostat, doesn t have any on the truck, but call them back and they ll install with, guess what, new service charge and the charge for the device which is super overpriced.

Ok, we get a thermostat. Call them back. He puts it in, it works, briefly. But now, it goes off and comes on when we don t want it to. But it works. The heat at least.

2 weeks later. It stopped working. And the air too.

I call a friend. He checks it out. Replaces the thermostat, again. No one else touched it. Not one other person has touched that system since that day. He didn t rewire, he didn t have tools. Neither did I. We literally took one face off, put another one on. Nothing more. It never worked right again. Since then.

Fast forward.

Now, it s April. Guy comes to fix it. Seems nice. He asks who did it last time, idk check the service order. Then, he accuses me and my friend of messing up the system THEY put in. Hey man we don t install it like that. Y all broke this don t let non-certified people people touch it. Blah blah blah.

No one else has touched that unit. He argued me down then turned salty the rest of the time. He fixed it then told me in the future don t touch it.

I told him, in the future, actually fix it instead of blaming your customers. We went 5 months without air, because of them, and then they fix it and blame us for the mistake.

Aside from the very first service call, we deserve a refund. This is ridiculous.

Why they didn't get that when the install was done, I'll never know. Then, one month later, a1 air coordinated our inspection for a 8am to 12noon window. At 12:15, still no call or inspector. I took the morning off work, again, to be here. Still no show. When I called a1 air, the customer service rep immediately said it wasn't in their control...a1 air set the time, so, yes...it is their doing and planning that I once again had to take time off work. I called A#1 to correct a DYI installation of a smart thermostat issue. My heating system is ancient and did not have a common wire. The technician, Chase, arrived by the predicted time wearing his mask and booties. After a thorough inspection of the system, he informed me that my dinosaur of a heater might not work with the wifi thermostat.

After trying on his own for a little bit, he phoned a friend. Dane cam by and helped get us up and going!

I contacted A#1 Air to have my AC system inspected. I was given an appointment one week out from when I originally contacted them. The day before my service call they informed me that they needed to reschedule my service 3 weeks due to an influx of urgent calls. They rescheduled me for 3 weeks later and offered a $20 discount. The day before my next service they called and said due to an influx of urgent calls they needed to reschedule and it would be another 3 weeks out. This is horrible customer service. Why would I schedule a third time thinking that they would do anything different? I would steer clear of this company. They will only come out and service your equipment when it's failed. Good luck with preventative maintenance.
