I started using A#1 Air a little over a year ago when my AC went out during August on a Friday night. The company I had a contract with was supposed to be 24/7 but they never returned my call. After suffering for two days, I called A#1 Air on a Sunday night and they had someone out at my house in about an hour. I've had a few problems with my system since and they always responded promptly with courteous staff and, as a result, I now also use them for my electrical and plumbing.

Yesterday (Sunday) was no different. Dustin B was dispatched to do my Fall furnace check and he did a full service review and provided data as to how my system was doing. He also answered a few questions I had as well. Just like the other A#1 service people who have been to my house, Dustin was polite, knowledgeable and respectful.

Thanks once again, A#1!

From the time I reached out online I was extremely impressed. Immediate response made me feel like a priority. Over the phone, Amy was polite and professional. When Brandon showed up 30 minutes later, he was considerate, professional, and well spoken. Not only did he get me an immediate quote for the repair I needed, but also laid out all my options with deeper repairs or even a full system replacement (mine is 20 years old and starting to have issues). It's nice to experience the company first hand and to confirm they are who they say they are!

I have been a LONG time customer with A#1Air and over the last year plus I noticed the quality of their service with me decline. Today was the last straw. I set up an appointment 2 weeks ago to come to my home today. This morning I called them to confirm they would be out between 12-4. Just before 4 I called again and this time was told, no we have you down for Friday. Then, it was yes you are correct but we have to find someone to come out and will get back to you. I kept being lied to. I should have left them a year ago after a couple of other red flags.
I found another ac company through posts where I live on NextDoor and Facebook and called. The owner picked up and he will have someone here tomorrow morning. I told him what I needed and explained what A#1Air did. If A#1Air does this to a long standing loyal customer, then I say to them, you lost my business forever today.

Since my first review I received new information with regards to refrigerant charges. The technician explained I needed three pounds of R410A refrigerant at $110 /pound. Being ignorant of the cost of the refrigerant I told him OK for the $330 charge. The next day I had lunch with my usual HVAC man and he told me he charged $28 / pound of R410A refrigerant!! After further investigation I found that you can buy R410A refrigerant for about $5 / pound!!! I also paid labor charges of $59 which seems reasonable. However, I can t quite understand why the A#1 Air technician charged me 4 times as much for the same refrigerant. What do you think?

A#1 Air is a superb company. The experience and professionalism of the company and team members are amazing. Toby came to our home on a Sunday afternoon and was extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous. He spent a great deal of time with myself and husband informing us about the company, services provided, warranty information, product information and financing options. As a homeowner and consumer, I would HIGHLY recommend Toby and the team at A#1 Air. Moving forward, A#1 Air is the ONLY company we will be using for all of our air conditioning and heating needs.

We have been a customer of A#1 Air for some years now. When it came time to move and to upgrade the thermostat for our HVAC system, we were so glad to have Justin T. from A#1 Air to help. Justin's professional and personable skills made the entire experience easy, enjoyable, and affordable! The pros at A#1 Air always do a great job for us and we are proud to call them: "Our HVAC Company."

Called A#1 Air and technician (Logan M) came out.
Weather was not good but he identified problem and replaced fan motor of one AC unit. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. He enlightened me on problems that I might expect on an eleven year old AC. Very positive and appreciated the expertise advice.

If there is a better air-con company than A#1 Air on this planet I'll eat every hat in my home. Following the above post, months later, I had to call A#1 to take care of another technical issue. Andy Vestal attended to it and did A#1 proud. Much appreciated.

Back in 2001, I would have given 5 stars. That was when James went out and made the calls for service. Those were the days!! It felt like they really cared about their customers. Now they are so big, they don't have to care anymore. "Guaranteed Right, Day or Night" are just words on a jingle and business card. They mean absolutely nothing. We bought a new system for our second house just under 4 years ago and they swore by Amana. We've had nothing but problems since and has NEVER been right.. Oh how I wish I had the Carrier system James installed back in 2001. I bet it is still working in that house. The Amana system has been nothing but problems and there's NOTHING they can do. Really??? Well, James and Sherry, I hope you're sleeping comfortably in your Castle Hills home you purchased on HGTV. Your customers aren't. My call went straight to voicemail.

The technician came back to rewire the AC at 1:15am. I bumped it up a star. I still can't believe such a crappy system was pushed by A#1 Air. Get your heads out of your backsides and only install quality systems.

Raymond was thorough and told us what we needed to know before ordering a new air conditioner unit. He was very pleasant to deal with, and we were very pleased by his helping us choose what best fitted our needs.

A new 5 ton unit was installed in late April. Last week it stopped cooling so I called and was told someone would be here late afternoon. He arrived at 3:45 am. Said it was frozen and would return. He didn t turn it off and didn t return. I finally decided I d turn it off myself knowing it wouldn t thaw otherwise. Finally after complaining, another tech came the following afternoon. By then it was turned back on, new filter and working. After he left I noticed terrible damage to the door covering access to the unit. I sent pics. Another guy is sent. He takes pics and left. No one has contacted me since. Guessing they don t intend to do anything, I decided to post this review.

KURT KELLUM the A1 Technician was very professional and curious!! We have lower and upper HVAC units and Kurt provide service to both, Kurt was honest and upfront with his recommendations and did not push the matter with an absolute you must do this and you have to do that. Kurt gave recommendations as to what we were doing wrong vs what we were doing right for ultimate Heat and AC conservation and efficiency. The T-Fam would like to give Kurt an exceeds expectations level of thanks for a service call well done!!! Thank you Kurt and A1 Air.

This is my first time using A#1 Air and I was impressed. I only used them because DJ moved to this company and he's the only HVAC tech that's been able to properly service my systems. From the call center, and constant updates as to what time he'd be arriving, I was impressed with the service. They scheduled me the same day, accommodated my choice of technician, and my time frame. DJ of course did a great job on my systems. Highly recommended!

Clarence is my hero! Our A/c unit had not ran correctly for 6 weeks, when it was originally serviced by a newer technician who had never worked on a carrier Infiniti series. Clarence was able to check everything about the unit, check for leaks, get the unit put back together correctly, add Coolant, and get it working again like it was supposed to be. Clarence did a fantastic job. Thank you for coming out so late in the evening and working until the job was done. We greatly appreciate your help and service. We highly recommend Clarence!

This tech went above and beyond. He arrived promptly this was his second service call at our residents repairing our heater. While he was in the attic repairing the heater. He noticed something it was a SQUIRREL at first he thought it was alive, but it had died. I was going crazy wondering how I was going to get the creature out the attic. He said just give me a plastic bag and I will remove it. I could not believe it! I am very thankful because my husband is disabled. Thanks again Sam Andrei

Sam was absolutely professional, highly skilled, and very pleasant to deal with. He knew exactly what he was doing and got the job done in short order in replacing the outdoor faucet and the bathroom sink supply lines and shutoff valves. Would look forward to seeing him again if more service is ever needed. Plumbing services are breath-takingly expensive generally, but their charges seem pretty much in line with others' and service was great. Called in the morning and the job was done that afternoon. They routinely call when you are the next or 2nd in-line to let you know when to expect them to arrive.

Very nice experience. Everyone was so helpful. Communication was great. Everything was taken care of except for the actual install of the replacement unit in a few hours. Danny Jones was very helpful and professional. Then Manny Morales came out to finalize everything and was also awesome.

Absolutely terrible technician. He told me standing in the garage what was wrong with my water heater without even looking at it. Here is his explanation of that act" I am a technician for over 10 years, I do not have to look at the unit to diagnose the problem". How absurd is that. His name was Jerry Glenn Smith. He was charging me $750 to fix my water heater which started working on its own the very next day. I just had to play a little bit with my circuit breaker. I wish there was an option with negative stars to rate this company. I would never recommend these people to any one. A total rip off.

Jeff L. was very punctual, very courteous, and knew exactly what he was suppose to do. Completed the job in due time, and cleaned up when done, and reminded me to lock my front door and he locked back door and
checked with me for any questions I might have. Also took me to waterheater and explained what he had done. Recommend him highly and will want him back when I need a plumber. He is an asset to your company.

The HVAC guys came and diagnosed my heater issue, which turned out to be an electrical issue with my breaker panel. The electrical guys came out and after confirming the diagnosis did a great job replacing my old outdated and rusted out breaker panel with a new one that is up to code and can be repaired more easily (parts were not available for my old one). No sooner did the power come back on then my heater fan kicked back on, so they did a good job correctly diagnosing the problem - no additional repairs were needed. It was really nice not to have to go back and forth between companies to get this diagnosed and fixed. I'm very happy with my new breaker panel as well.

Best customer service I've ever dealt with. From my first call with Chelsea, to the follow-up calls keeping me updated on the timeframe for the tech, Charles, to arrive, to his actual service on arrival, I couldn't ask for a better outcome.

quick knowledgeable reasonable and the nicest serviceman. They are so much better than ever using American Home Shield. I have American Home Shield and it took 2 weeks for them to get someone to fix our air conditioner so this is why I called A1 because I needed to done today with 90 weather. I am going to cancel my warranty for my home because I did get the best service from this company. I am so glad that I chose this company.ATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

Had a really good experience today with this company. The AC unit went out leaving my wife and I to sweat it out in the living room last night. We called at 7am on Monday morning and believe it or not.. WE GOT AN ACTUAL LIVE PERSON!!! They said they would send someone out to diagnose the problem and give us an estimate between 2-6. The person actually came out a little early. The sales rep was courteous and didn't try and up-sell us on anything. He said he could put what amounted to a band aid on the system, or we could replace it same day.

Since I didn't want to get caught in the cycle fixing this and that I agreed to buy a new unit. Miguel came out and did a great job replacing my unit for the price (which I thought was very reasonable). In the span of 8 hours, I got two folks out from this company, a reasonable estimate, timely responses and finally a cool house. I would recommend this company.

It's always difficult to find a service provider if you don't use the service regularly. I have never needed an Electrician, but had worked with A#1 Air to get a new HVAC system several years ago and they were very impressive in the quality of work and professionalism during and after the job. I had seen several TV advertisements announcing that A#1 Air was also providing Electrician services so I thought it might be a trusted source for this service. Derek was professional, experienced and knowledgeable getting the job done quickly. I would call A#1 Air again and recommend them as a trusted solution to anyone.

Called on 7/29/2018 at 9:04 and was told couldn't service my residence because I'm not the home owner. After explaining I'm the home Owner she didn't believe me and said a manager would call. If you have this much problem with them right off the start imagine if there was a service issue where you were not happy.

We purchased a home in The Colony, TX 4 years ago. I had many friends and family warn me about A#1. I have continued to allow A#1 to service my home because the previous owner allowed A#1 to install the existing system. During our winter system check the technician confirmed a leak in the system. We had two people from A#1 in our house attempt to sell us on a repair or replacement. Why would I ever trust you to install or repair a system in my home that A#1 previously installed in 2011 (9 years ago) that failed. My personal belief is that any AC system that fails in less than 10 years was not properly installed. After a second consultation from a more reputable competitor we have discovered A#1 installed the current system with less than half the necessary CFM airflow into our 4 ton unit than necessary for proper cooling. Imagine breathing through a straw for 9 years. That is what our AC unit was doing. Without the proper inflow of air our unit was working overtime to cool our home. Funny that A#1 failed to mention this issue during our regular maintenance appointments. Bottom line is A#1 failed on my existing system and will never have an opportunity to earn my business again.

$2000 for a new evap coil on a new Lennox in 3 yea...

$2000 for a new evap coil on a new Lennox in 3 years after installed new? Sure the $1300 part was covered by the warranty but the labor - and the part is no use unless it s installed - was $2000. And that was after $1000 duct cleaning! A#1 Air should cover the labor too and go after Lennox to make it right with them... after all I bought quality to avoid this very thing. Update they credited my card back with $800... thank you... added one star! but that s still $1200 (+1000 for duct cleaning!) neither of which should have been... not after 2 seasons! The old one lasted 23 years ... folks make sure to get the warranty when buying new stuff made in China! Looks like you ll need it... And make sure it covers parts AND labor! The labor costs waaaaay more ! The strangest part was how sanguine the installers were about it. Almost as if they re bored by the shocked disbelief. He had 2 other evap coils in his van also from Lennox and also just a few years old. And they d just settled a class action suit for this very thing in 2016! Apparently they set up an electrolysis problem mixing copper with aluminum . Or something . I guess they did it again in 2017? I ll update you on what Lennox has to say for themselves . Weeee! Update 2 I contacted Lennox and they told me too bad labor isn't covered. There are thousands of similar stories on them. This is a VERY common problem and A#1 Air should WARN their customers! This was a very expensive unit precisely to avoid this very thing! The previous Lennox worked great for what --- 22/23 years? But now I'm stuck with 2 of these POS... I sure wish I'd checked them out beforehand, but as a previous owner --- I thought I had! Apparently the fan motors are junk too... and they're all made by the same factory in China. (can't verify that) so much for "saving money" buying quality. Seems the smart play until they start making them in the USA again is just to buy the cheapest thing on the market and get the warranty. You're not buying it you're renting. The brand names are meaningless now. It's sad, from a Texas company HQed here in Richardson is just a veneer over Chinese junk. It's maddening. Get the warranty and make SURE it covers labor! You'll need it. Anyone know a lawyer willing to go after Lennox for punitive damages on contingency ? They KNEW they had this issue.
