Alex was on time, polite and very capable. He quickly found the problem with my system, fixed it, and then explained how to avoid a recurrence. The price was reasonable.

David D. recently came out to fix my air conditioning unit that's up in my attic. Water was accumulating under the unit and David was able to diagnose the issue and resolve it promptly. He was on-time, friendly, knowledgable and informed me along the way of what he was doing and why. Couldn't be happier and will continue to be a loyal Shavitz customer. Great job David!!

Although we called for emergency service, because of the quick efficiency of service rep, Jason, we were able to get service during regular hours and were not charged for an emergency visit. This is an endorsement for Shavitz Heating and Cooling based upon my recent experience.
My HVAC and water heater were 17 years old. Life expectancies of each are expected to be 12 to 15 years. I decided to replace rather than wait for them to fail.
I solicited bids from two companies, one of which was Shavitz. Both company s prices were nearly identical.
I chose Shavitz because the owner, Bronson Shavitz did a more precise evaluation than the other company.
Unlike the other company, which merely emailed me an estimate, Bronson came back a week later and spent two hours detailing solutions for my needs.
Those detailed solutions were: providing solutions for a cool basement and a poorly insulated water pipe shaft. They also corrected three problems I didn t even know about: incorrect placement of a return air supply, incorrect installation of the humidifier and humidistat, and incorrect installation of the condensate and humidifier drain pump.
Finally, Bronson and his team (Greg, Kosi, and Paco) are warm, considerate, very detail focused knowledgeable professionals. They were fun to deal with!

Technician Krzysztof was courteous and professional when he came by to add refrigerant (at no cost) to get our AC to function temporarily until they are able to install a new HVAC system at the end of this month. He gave us some great tips on what to do to maintain our system functioning properly and efficiently. Thank you young man.

I had a scheduled appointment with Shavitz to come and replace both my furnace and AC units. They worked around my schedule, and explained that they would do their best to make sure to get it completed in one day. They said that they would be at my house around 8am and were on time. They finished everything before the estimated time, and took the extra time to clean up after themselves as well as cut a bigger opening for the shut-off valve (which they did not have to do and did not charge extra for). Overall, it was great service. The workers' names were Mirek and Cosmin.

Technician came out for an emergency visit at an apartment and billed $240 for an evaluation only. His estimate state that some parts needed to be replaced and the whole building would be impacted. Decided to go with a second opinion. Issue was fixed within 30min and paid less than half for total work than what Shavitz charged for the evaluation.

We've been using Shavitz HVAC for about 15 years. They are always professional, knowledgeable, on time and nice. Maurice K. was great!

They arrived right on time for furnace installation and did the job quickly, carefully, and for less money than the estimate -- they took the trouble to check whether a new chimney liner was needed and saved us money by determining that it wasn't. They were very tidy and friendly as well.

Shavitz is great - we've used them for years to maintain our 32-yr-old furnace which finally bit the dust last week. We had them install a new system. Our installers Tom and Jarek were very knowledgable, professional, worked quickly, and cleaned up very nicely. All in all would recommend Shavitz to anyone!!

I had to have my entire central air system replaced over the hottest days of the summer. Will Gutierrez came out to look at what needed to be done, and gave me a number of options, and a really helpful explanation of the pros/cons of each. We actually got quotes/options from multiple HVAC companies which were all pretty similar in terms of costs/equipment, but were really impressed with Will's knowledge base and his professionalism, so ended up going with Shavitz. So far it has been a great decision. His team came out quickly, got the full replacement done efficiently, has come out a few times to make sure everything is working correctly, and Will continues to be super accessible through text/phone long after the install is done when I have questions. He even helped me fill out my insurance form to see if I can get some of the cost reimbursed! All around great service. Would highly recommend Shavitz for this, and would definitely recommend asking for Will.

I had a wonderful experience with Shavitz- my technician was James Cuevas. He was very professional, helpful, and friendly. He answered all my questions and helped me understand what was actually going on with my A/C. I would definitely recommend and will be returning to Shavitz for annual servicing!

The air conditioner stopped working a couple of days ago. Yesterday, Sunday, I emailed Shavitz to ask for an appointment. Linda called me mid morning today and gave me a four hour window. Cornelius arrived and explained to me what was going on as he tried to determine why my unit failed. He was able to fix it and be out in about an hour. He told me about the maintenance plan, which because I am putting my house on the market, seems a wise thing to do. He then called and made an appointment for me for as soon as possible. He and Linda were both cheerful people who were efficient and tuned in to what I needed and wanted. I am giving them four stars only because I believe that a little time must pass before I know that the changes made are and will remain effective.

Very competent and courteous technician resolved a complex technical challenge by enlisting 3rd party resources on the phone while working with us. Results exceeded our expectations and were completed in 1/2 the time expected - which resulted in a discount!. Could not have been a better experience. We are very glad we have Shavitz

We have been using Shavitz Heating & AC ever since we bought our home in Skokie. They are great to work with. Reliable and reasonably priced. Their customer service is diligent in reminding you to schedule your maintenance appts and we have never had an emergency with our heating system. I think this is due to their great servicing.

Cornelius came to his appt on time. He was very courteous and explained what his plan was for servicing my boiler and water heater. When finished, Cornelius and his apprentice were very concerned about whether my faucets were clogged by his servicing of the systems. He proceeded to evaluate three of my faucets and cleaned them out with a good result. Excellent service!

Despite Cornelius had some discomfort in his knee he was so through in explaining every detail and ensured Jesse (who is fairly new) to do a very through job on the furnace. He answered every questions I have and offered to speak to my renters to explain future care for the furnace. He has been the most knowledgeable among all I have spoken to in the past about my furnace and filters. I could not have asked for a better service today. We initially used Shavitz since their maintenance plan was still in place after we moved into our house. They've provided great service from day one and we get excellent service every time they visit. We didn't hesitate when asked to renew our service plan.

Contacted Shavitz to check out a whistling noise coming from the furnace. Henry arrived within time frame told by the office and was great. Immediately identified the problem (the filter) then ran a systems check on the entire system. Explained to me in detail the different issues with the system (14 years old) and how to correct each issue step by step as to not spend money where not necessary. He repaired is less time and money noted. Henry is extremely knowledgeable and personable so made understanding the issues easy and how to repair. Thank you Henry for your professionalism!

Johnny did the furnace start up and chimney sealing. Johnny took pride in his work did great job and took the time to inform me of everything.

I received a call a day before the appointment to confirm it and also a call on the day of the appointment to notify me when the technician was few minutes away from our home. The technician, Cornelius M., was very knowledgable, polite, and respectful of our home. He diagnosed and fixed all the problems and also gave valuable advice about the operation and maintenance of our heating and cooling systems. Could not have been happier with the service received!

Very professional. They came out quickly. were punctual. They have project managers that take care of the planning before the installation which is a great set up.

Shawn did a terrific job servicing my humidifiers. He was on time, thorough, explained to me exactly what was going on. He even vacuumed the HVAC closets. My building engineer had suggested to me to specifically request Shawn. I am glad I did.

That said, I & others in our 85 unit condo building have found Shavitz's prices for parts replacement to be way out of line. Complete blower replacements were shopped & found to be 50% less at reputable, comparable HVAC companies. Do your homework before signing any contract.

Krzysztof managed my annual AC management. He did a spectacular job and was very informative as to the overall system performance and enhancements that could be made in the future to prolong the life of my system. From my first encounter with Joe Bluette several weeks ago I felt "taken care of by professionals." I had a complete HVAC replacement (new furnace and compressor) including duct cleaning and treatment with Aeroseal to remedy many duct leaks in a 20-year old system. What an Aeroseal difference! We've got real airflow now.

Hayko and Jarek, Shavitz' installers, were able to carefully answer all my questions and they were able to provide insights into the business. Most importantly, they respected every one of my wife's directions about the precious plants in her beautiful spring garden.

Overall, a completely professional experience.

David and Sherman came out and diagnosed why the heat was locking out and the house was freezing. Another company had told us they were not available for 11 days, but Shavitz had same and next day appointments! Our HVAC system was 18 years old and so the cost of the repair wasn't worthwhile. Kristoff came out two days later to take measurements for a new system.

Morel and Cosmin did an excellent job installing Furnace and AC. They explained the process. Kept the condo clean. Explained the new components of system. They were prompt and timely. First rate.

He explained what he saw as concerning and what was working. He was specific about age of systems, cost of repairs that may be needed, but also range of costs for new mechanical systems. Huh. I've had this company here to service my HVAC the number of times, and they installed my AC unit. They always seemed competent and reliable, if a bit pricey. I just called for service, and was a little shocked that they said they couldn't come for 6 weeks!

Our furnace went out on us on a Saturday morning. We started by calling the company who originally installed the furnace. They never called us back.

Shavitz, answered the phone right away, called us back to let us know exactly what time Gus would be there. Gus was on time, very polite and knew what he was doing. He took photos showing severe cracks, our unit was shot and had to be replaced. He called Ryan who came right out.

Ryan was very informative, answered all of our questions and took our order. He went back to the office and returned with 3 space heaters to take care of us until 8am Monday morning.

Ernie and Marcin were on time and Ryan came to get things rolling. Drop cloths were placed everywhere the workers walked. The went right to work, non-stop until the job was completed. Out with the old and in with the new furnace. They set our new air conditioner on the pad, which must be finished in the spring when the weather breaks.

We were given an honest deal from the onset. No pressure sale pitching, just complete answers with nothing hidden. The way things should be. Leave it up to the home owner to decide. Sandra thought she might change her mind and go with a higher efficiency unit while they were removing the old one, Ryan said that wouldn't be a problem either. But after thinking it over she kept with the original one she ordered.

The 2 men who worked here all day were extremely polite and clean in every way possible. All the debris was removed and made certain we were well satisfied.

Maurice called to tell me he was on his way and showed up as expected. He was polite, professional and put me at ease about entering my house by wearing a mask. Upon completion, he explained everything he did to clean and tune my air conditioner and even showed before and after pictures of my filthy condenser. The experience was quite educational so when he brought up the idea of a 3-year maintenance contract for spring and fall maintenance of my A/Cs and furnaces, it was a no-brainer to pay a small amount in advance to ensure efficient operation of my systems. My wife tells me I'm a cheapskate because I hate to spend money on things like this. However, Maurice logically and convincingly explained how preventive maintenance saves money in the long run with lower operating costs and extended system life cycles. Maurice is clearly a highly knowledgeable and capable technician who knows what he's doing! I look forward to seeing him every spring and fall for the next three years.

I have been using Shavitz since 2007. They have never been pushy, always virtuous, really knowledgeable and never late. Last night I had emergency service and Craig came out and was outstanding. He not only fixed the immediate issue quickly, but also informed me about the issues I could face long term. Great company to work with. I wouldn t go anywhere else!

The Shavitz tech came out to check on our humidifier, and was very polite, thorough, and helpful getting the problem sorted out, and answering all our questions.

First, I was given an appointment time of 8:00am. At 8:05am, I received a call telling me that the tech, Henry, was running late and would arrive in about 5 minutes. Who does that? You usually get a 2-4 hour window and the tech arrives when he arrives. I really appreciate the promptness and courtesy extended by the Shavitz company.
After arrival, Henry listened to my concerns and went right to work to remedy the issue. After making adjustments to the system, I was instructed to monitor the operation, and if the situation did not correct itself, call for another appointment.
I couldn't be happier with Shavitz' prompt service and professionalism.

We called Shavitz Heating and Air Conditioning because of good reviews and recommendations in a Best Picks Report publication. I can see why they received such great reviews. From the people answering the phone, to the service technicians; all were friendly, professional and delivered the service they are known for. We had a major part go out in our 9 year old furnace, on a Friday afternoon, on one of the coldest days of the year. They did what they could to get our part as quickly as possible on the following Tuesday, made sure our part was still under warranty and that the manufacturer provided some relief on the labor charges. We really appreciated technician Ramiro's responsible and quick replacement of the part, as well as his friendly advice on keeping our furnace and air conditioner in top condition. I would definitely call and recommend Ramiro and Shavitz Heating and Air Conditioning in the future.

As a new condo owner, I've never had to deal with anything involving a personally owned furnace. The technician that Shavitz sent out (James) was great about explaining exactly what he was doing in a manner that was really easy to understand.

Shavitz called the day before our appointment to confirm the time, and the tech James was there within the first hour of the three hour window I was given.

After having spoken with several other people in our building that have had to have the same repair done (control board replaced) it turns out Shavitz was about $100 cheaper than most paid. If all their techs are as good as the one I got, you won't go wrong using them.

We have been using Shavitz since we moved to our new home in 2018, and enrolled in the maintenance plan with them for Spring/Fall checks. It s great, with each visit the Technician sets the next time, so you are set and the reminder is set!
We had a new tech David who is thorough, from files knew our history, and recommended things we will be doing upcoming to improve our heating/cooling system and did a thorough Spring maintenance.
