Krzysztof was professional and courteous. We run a home inspection business, and we're always looking for reputable companies to which we can refer our clients. Shavitz is our top recommendation for our clients' HVAC needs. We use them for our own home to service our furnace, AC and boiler. Every technician is knowledgeable, dependable and easy to work with. In short, use this company!!

We ad an excellent experience. David was very meticulus,courteous and went the extra mile to answer any questions we had or solve any problems we had.

Craig was very professional and made sure our boiler and heating system in general was working perfectly. Even fixed the small things that weren't really broken. Great service.

Prompt, professional service. My furnace went out at midnight on a snowy 12 degree night. Cornelius was there within an hour and had it fixed right away. He was courteous, wore shoe covers to not track snow inside, and clearly knowledgeable. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Cornelius serviced three furnaces -- two for a rental building and one for my personal residence. He carefully explained his findings to me, recommended items to correct immediately as well as items to be aware of over the next two years, and made recommendations for improving the long-term efficient operation of the units. Overall, he did an excellent job.

I know nothing about Heating and AC. Our service specialist Cornelius thoroughly explained what he was doing, and prioritized the repairs we needed. My kids were napping, and they slept through the entire visit. We've been very happy with Shavitz. Cornelius was great to work with and Terry was great to book with!

Shavitz has installed and repaired our entire HVAC system since about 2004. I have nothing but praise for the technicians who have visited our home, and for the cordial and helpful office staff. It's a really terrific company, with excellent service techs. Highest recommendation.

David was very professional. He showed me what is wrong with my water heater and what needs to be done.

Henry and the Shavitz team responded very quickly to our heat going out during the severe cold recently. Henry arrived, quickly diagnosed the issue and secured the part. He got the part the next day and fixed the issue. Great job!

Chris was excellent, very efficient, respectful and knowledgeable. Fixed our problems within minutes then continued to do a back check of our entire system since he still had time.

My cynical side expected there to be something wrong that would require an additional expense--I am pleased that my negative expectation were off base. I've been using Shavitz for three years. The two techs I have the most experience with are Craig and Cornelius. They have always been reliable, knowledgeable, patient with my MANY questions, and thorough. I couldn't ask for more.

Cornelius came on time as promised, quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem based on the most efficient option available. He kindly offered tips and recommendations for future savings. I felt comfortable and pleased with his service.

Will Gutierrez has been fantastic as a project manager, helping me with the installation of 2 furnaces, a humidifier, 2 new thermostats, and 2 Dynamic air cleaners... plus a conversion of one furnace system to an energy efficient setup. His installation crew (Cosmin, Mirek, Johnny, and Sabas) were wonderful. The install took about 12 hours, and these guys worked so hard the whole time. They were very nice, professional, and knowledgeable... (even at the end of a long day!) they were very patient and thoroughly answered all of my questions. My furnaces are working great, and Will has been very responsive and helpful with all my questions that have arisen as I orient myself to the new system. I recommend this team from Shavitz very highly.

Craig was great. He filled me in on the state of my air conditioning systems, and took steps to help the (old) systems limp along for a little longer. A level that had been uncomfortably warm even at maximum A/C on this hot day now is comfortably cool. Excellent work on the A/C systems, and a really nice guy who was interesting to talk to. Another positive experience with Shavitz!

Shawn is friendly and knows what he's doing. He explained everything to me and worked quickly. He also put up with my dogs. I've never had a bad experience with Shavitz.

Rich arrived within the time frame promised to address an unusual noise that was coming from my furnace. Through no fault of his the noise didn t occur whilst he was here but he checked everything just to make sure every possibility was covered. He was informative, helpful and extremely patient. This is the type of service that is synonymous with Shavitz s maintenance team. I m a creature of habit and have had Sean from the maintenance team service the systems for years. I m so pleased to know that I can add Rich s name to my list for any future issues. Cornelius came to our home on a follow up repair call and spent extensive time crawling in a very small, hard to reach area to determine why the unit that had just had new parts installed was not working. He found very small wires that needed to be reattached and fixed the problem. Without his perserverence, our unit would still not be working properly. We are grateful for his efforts and for the fact that he continued to explore causes for the malfunction of our unit.

I have an old electric furnace that I can't replace at this time. The tech, Dave, thoroughly assessed my unit and was upfront in his appriasal. He spoke to me without a lot of technical jargon, but enough for me to understand my issues, and enough for me to know he knew what he was talking about. Additionally, he was personable and patient with my many questions. For the present, there was one part that was immediately needed. It wasn't expensive and should help get me through the winter. If it doesn't, I feel confident Shavitz will provide me what is needed to keep everything running as smoothly as possible. They are now my go-to HVAC company.

Arrived in time and inspected the Furnace and the humidifier as part of the yearly preventive maintenance. He was courteous and professional.
I asked him questions and he answered and explained things to me about the furnace and the humidifier. He needed parts for the humidifier and called the office and was able to obtain them in no time.
At the end of the work he presented me with an invoice and explained to me the details. I highly recommend that, he will also do the air conditioning system ,maintenance, in the coming summer.

Shavitz did their best getting out to us asap when our furnace went wonky and made sure we took the right steps to stay safe when we smelled gas. Our repair man came out within the time frame that was given and worked on our issue for about two hours. Neil was great to work with, explained everything thoroughly, and was super friendly. I also appreciate that he was not condescending to me or my wife. As women hiring men for repairs we have been taken advantage of before or are treated like we won't understand what is happening, and Neil took his time to talk to us while he was working to answer our questions. Had a great experience working with the guys from Shavitz. When my roof top unit broke and was without any heat, they came out immediately. Ryan was honest with his assessment of whether or not to replace the unit or repair it, and very helpful throughout my decision process. The quote that he provided was very reasonable, and I found to be the best option versus the other major names that I had received quotes from. When it came time to install, Cosmin and Linas did an excellent job, were both very friendly, and walked me through everything they were doing throughout the process. Overall, I am happy with the experience of working with Shavitz. And at the end of the job, Ryan came back again to make sure that everything was up to par. All in all, very happy with the service, but most of all the positive experience of the entire staff that I dealt with.

Shavitz always does a good job and shows you the meter reading when requested. All service people are polite and professional.

Gus came to our house on a frigid January day when our furnace stopped working and provided outstanding customer service! Firstly, he was on time, courteous and covered his shoes with booties to keep my house clean (why don't all service providers do this?!). It appeared immediately that the furnace motor fan wasn't working but before beginning the process of pulling the motor out and inspecting the furnace, as our furnace is 24 years old and close to the end of its life, he explained in detail what he might find and what my options would be (which could include replacing the whole furnace if he discovered dangerous cracks in the heat exchanger). I really appreciated him giving me an idea up front what I might be up against. This gave me the time, while he proceeded with his work, to digest the info. and consult with my husband on the phone.

Fortunately for us (because we weren't prepared to purchase a new furnace that day), he was able to just replace the motor fan. While he worked, he explained everything thoroughly and when I had further questions, he patiently and thoroughly answered them.

Also fortunately, he had the necessary part on his truck and was able to get my furnace back up and running in less than 2 hours. However, as it was obvious we would need to replace this furnace sooner than later, he did provide some preliminary information on types of furnaces and costs associated. This normally requires a scheduled sales call with Shavitz (which we are planning to do by next Fall), however getting some preliminary information was really helpful because we can now start not only budgeting but researching the different options (e.g., basic v. high-efficiency, etc.) and we'll be better prepared when we do meet with someone in sales.

Lastly, because of Gus' outstanding customer service, we went ahead and signed for their annual heating & cooling service contract.

Gus has been one of 3 technicians from Shavitz who have been to our house for AC or heating repair and all three have been terrific. I highly recommend this company and based on our experiences, they hire great people who are knowledgeable, fair and respectful.

We have been Shavitz customers for almost 16 years. We have purchased AC, two furnaces and a water heater from them. We also have an annual maintenance contract, which both saves us money and provides us with peace of mind. Our service today was done by Sam, who is relatively new to Shavitz, but certainly has been trained well in the Shavitz ethos of promptness, courtesy, cleanliness and technical competence. SCAM! Shavitz took advantage of my 82 year old father. They added a $185.00 future maintenance agreement into his service call. He was presented with an i-pad and asked to sign with his finger. No hard copy of the document was presented. When confronted on the issue both Bronson and Diana Shavitz (grandchildren of the founder) supported the "salesmanship" of their field tech. I would not recommend using this company.

Conrnelius came out to service my AC condenser as part of my membership. He went above and beyond by cleaning my unit which hadn't been cleaned in years. Of course I had to pay extra for the time, but he was fair and honest with his recommendations. He also did a very through job. I also spoke with Linda E. over the phone who helped setup the appointment. She was amazing also, because she took the time to answer all my questions (i had a lot) and make sure that everything was on schedule. I really appreciate the level of customer service quality I experienced. Thanks.

I was hesitant signing up for their maintenance plan in 2016. I've renewed every time since then because of their expertise, and professionalism. Jose in particular is knowledgeable, and friendly. He installed our furnace, and air conditioning, and has kept it in excellent running condition for several years. I don't worry at all about keeping warm, or cool.

He contacted the office to get me a good price to reroute the pipe and add a pump which he was able to do today. Very clean and competent technicians. So far the work they've done has been good and i'm happy to have finally found a heating co. I can count on for consistent service.

We've been customers of Shavitz for a year now, but recently our air conditioner died during a heat wave. On a Sunday, they sent over a technician to check on the issue, but unfortunately it was time for a replacement. They identified the issues with our system quickly and worked to give us a fair proposal. Over two days, several of their workers fixed our furnace, duct work and installed a new air conditioning unit over some of the hottest days we've had in a long time! They were very polite and courteous while in my home, and then took the time to explain everything they did before they left. Our house has never been so cool in the summertime!

Called Saturday Sept 2nd and left a message requesting to be contacted about scheduling service. It's the 11th and I've heard nothing back. Glad its a casual maintenance issue and I didn't need help right away. Will schedule service with another business that cares about customer service and knows how to return a call.

I've been a Shavitz customer for several years and two different homes in Evanston. Service is always on time and top notch. Most recently, Krzysztof had been our technician as of late and he always is professional, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. I'll often ask questions during the bi-annual HVAC checkups and service, and Krzysztof (as well as other technicians I've spoken with from Shavitz) will take the time to clearly explain what they did, items to watch/consider before the next service, etc. Great service and I plan to be a long term customer for whenever we need expert service wrt our HVAC installations - thx!

Christopher R worked really hard into the late hours to try and fix my furnace, he even tried to troubleshoot with me over the phone after he had left. He returned the next day to fix the furnace and restore heat to my home. That is dedication and the reason I always use Shavitz.

Craig K was extremely prompt and professional. He identified the problem with my AC lines and confirmed his initial diagnosis with another technician to verify. He tested and re-tested the solution applying the fix not only to the interior lines but the exterior side of the lines as well. Highly recommended
