Fantastic experience. We purchased our home last May. We hadn't had a maintenance up until now. We saw the Shavitz sticker on the furnace from the prior owner.
Jason was a great tech. He looked at our humidifier and made the necessary adjustment. Additionally, he showed me all the dampers in our duckwork to adjust airflow.
Linas and Jose (and Will) were professional and friendly. They stayed until the job was done which was a little longer than had been quoted. No complaints, no shortcuts. I had an incredible experience with Shavitz and with Eric and Linda specifically. We are a small non-profit church and our heat went out unexpectedly. This is a similar post to one provided for my last maintenance service, so updated as of 6/20/18. I subscribe to Shavitz for seasonal maintenance, and have also used them for other AC/Furnace service. They have always provided great service and gone above and beyond my expectations (and that of any previous provider I have had for the same service) to perform the service, explain any issues in layman's terms and do the work as required. I highly recommend Shavitz and my technician Branden H.. was very friendly, helpful, answered all my questions adequately, etc.

We specifically chose Shavitz to fix our furnace because of their COVID-19 page on their website that detailed all the precautionary measures they take. The woman I spoke to on the phone was up front about the service charge for diagnosing the issue and Niall, the tech who came to our house, was up front about the cost of what was thankfully just some maintenance work. Niall was courteous and professional. Arrived a few minutes before the scheduled time and called to make sure it was okay to start early. He wore a mask and gloves for the entire time he was in our house, which was greatly appreciated during a pandemic. He explained everything he was doing and even made me aware of a few other issues with our system like our UV bulb being burnt out. He didn t try to oversell us on anything and did a great job. I definitely will call Shavitz again.
Cosmin and Linius made the installation "quick" and painless. They were friendly and very professional. Hopefully we will not need any installation anytime soon, but I would sure as hell want these guys again when we do.

I called on Friday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend with temps in the 90s and no ac at my 93 year old mom's home. Kevin arrived a few hours later, found the blower was non repairable, found an after hours parts dealer and installed the blower that evening. He was polite, helpful and very competent. Krzysztof was over this afternoon for a spring AC maintenance visit. It would have helped to have some communication from him or the Shavitz office that he was running way behind in his previous stop due to unavoidable delays and wouldn't be here anywhere near when we were told he would be.
Once he got here though, he pointed out several controls in our mechanical closet that we had never been shown by previous contractors, he answered all our questions patiently and had suggestions that could help us with air flow problems we've had in our unit.
Kryzysztof was extremely easy to talk to and we're looking forward to seeing him at our furnace maintenance visit this fall.

Shavitz is wonderful! They were helpful as technicians maintaining an old system, as sales people when I needed a new system, and when installing and maintaining that new system. I ve met and had several different employees in my home and each one has been friendly, professional, prompt and have gone above and beyond to make sure things were done right. They are honest and trustworthy and I highly recommend them!
Chris R. was not only on time, he was a little early! He was professional, courteous, explained everything that he was doing, and was was very helpful. I signed a service contract with Shavitz and I'm hoping that all of their technicians are as great as he was.
In November 2013 Shavitz installed a Mitsubishi split system central air conditioning unit in my condo. They did a great job. (See my review on Angie's List.)
Then in December Eric came in to initially charge the system. He worked out in the cold cheerfully for about two hours and did a great job. Then he very graciously and patiently explained how to operate the system using the remote. Like everyone else I dealt with at Shavitz, Eric was great.
I ve worked with this company several times for my various properties and they always have an honest tech on hand. I worked with Brad most recently and he was very helpful in explaining the current situation and things to look out for in the future. He didn t look to gouge me on pricing/products and was very upfront with me. A refreshing scenario in this industry!

At first, we really liked Shavitz. We thought the salespeople were nice and helpful. But then and endless array of scheduling problems occurred. We are in the DC area for the year and needed a new furnace in our condo that we are renting out. Shavitz said they were available to install the furnace one day, but it turned out they weren't. We also instructed them (after several discussions) to install a vent in the door to our utility room. They didn't. And then they were very difficult to schedule with for a follow-up. Several months later, we are in town for the holidays. The day after Christmas, when we are between tenants, we agree to come sit in our furniture-less condo for three hours to wait for someone to come. Two hours into our service window, we get a call that they can't make it to our unit. We told them that we drove an hour and a half in order to sit in our empty condo for two hours. Apparently the only thing they can do for us is come tomorrow. Really just unacceptable. They got our money, and now they apparently couldn't care less about following through.
I had water coming through my bedroom ceiling. It turns out the humidifier on the HVAC upstairs was clogged up, causing a good amount of water to leak through the floor. Terri was very helpful in setting up a service call. I have a tight weekly schedule and she was able to get someone out in pretty quickly. I also scheduled an annual maintenance for each of my units in two weeks.
Cornelius came out on schedule and quickly identified the problem. He had the parts in his truck and got my renters HVAC system back up and running. He explained everything very clearly to me which is always very nice. He was courteous and thorough..two things I strive for as a salesperson myself.

I had a service call set up for Nov 19th Once again, I had Shavitz come out and repair / replace some items on both my furnaces and once again, I'm very satisfied with their service. I had an issue of my renters furnace overheating and shutting down on its own to cool off. Cornelius diagnosed the issue and reduced the gas input so the furnace wouldn't overheat. It seemed like a minor adjustment but to a landlord its peace of mind knowing and then addressing the problem. Thanks Guys! Enjoy the warm weather!!

3/28/18 service call for on a very loud boiler pump on my renters unit. Craig with Shavitz came out the same afternoon and diagnosed a dying pump. I was set up with a new pump with a new convenient shut off valve in the event the water needs to be shut off to drain the boiler in the future.

Shawn B is one of Shavitz's best mechanics as far as I'm concerned. He is thorough, knowledgeable, responsive and pleasant no matter what the visit is for. He keeps me informed with photos throughout his time here, and is very good at working on his own and remembering the layout of my house [which is not your standard cookie-cutter plan]. I'm always happy when Shawn arrives at my door, and I hope the Shavitz family appreciates him as much as I do!
David Voughov (V.) did the best job of any maintenance technician sent out by Shavitz. He found a long-standing problem that would improve the airflow and preserve the lifespan of the HVAC equipment that we had installed within the last few years. He explained why there was a problem, what was needed to be done to resolve it and the consequences of ignoring the problem. We just had the work done and his advice has proven to be very valuable.
Great experience with this company from the limited interactions I have had. Our technician, Craig, did a better job of anyone we have had out previously in describing the work he was doing and providing options going forward. I felt they provided an honest and knowledgeable assessment of our problem.
David was very thorough in his review of my system. He recommended an electronic filter and gave me all the information I needed to make a good decision.
Mirek and Linas did an excellent job for me installing HVAC systems. They communicated very well and competed the work on schedule. They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I would highly recommend them and will call on them again when I need future work. Thank you guys very much!

Krzysztof K. was very professional from the first moments he entered our house, taking care to put on booties to avoid tracking in dirt and greeting our dog. Krzysztof was very knowledgeable about our particular furnace (a two-stage system) and was able to perform some warranty work quickly and efficiently. At the conclusion of the work, he provided an excellent summary of work performed and any next steps. Krzysztof took the time to detail each line item of charges and ensured we had any questions answered. Will be requesting Krzysztof for future work.
Nothing like having your AC seize up and die at 5:15 pm on a warm/muggy Tuesday night. I called Shavitz and talked to Manny. Explained the symptoms and Manny believed it could be repaired that evening. Ramiro was over within an hour and by close to sunset at 8pm had our AC up and running. This is the second time we have had to call Shavitz for emergency service and they have always proven to be the best when it comes to experience and professionalism.

Today, David performed our A/C service thoroughly and efficiently.. We appreciated his attention to adhering to the cautions of COVID19. He was polite and courteous. When necessary, if possible, we would like for him to perform other maintenance services. He provided us with information with the possible upgrade to a new air purifier system.
They made a mistake during my service, left a hole in my ceiling and then overcharged me. Oh and they refuse to respond to my email explaining everything that happened and asking for a fixed invoice. But they make sure to send me a bill every 2 weeks

Excellent service.Both Cornelius and Alex called to let us know they were on there way . Knew what the problem was with on the boiler system. Made suggestions to what needed to be replaced now and what could wait. Very professional, clean and accommodating. Our system has not worked this good for years.

We needed to have some basement work done and part of the preparation was removing the baseboard radiator system we had installed years ago. Shavitz came in, evaluated what needed to be done, actually did less than the original guy thought might be needed (but wasn't, thankfully), installed a couple of cut-out valves for the system so we could turn off the radiators in future any time we wished, and all without having to drain the boiler! Wonderful. And it took only a couple of hours to accomplish. These guys were tremendous! I heartily recommend Shavitz. They may not be the cheapest (I haven't checked so I really don't know) but they are knowledgable and proficient at what they do.
This is the second home in two years we ve used shavitz for heating and cooling. In both cases the service was friendly, professional, and prompt. Both technicians worked well as a team and seemed to genuinely enjoy working together. When I asked who hauled the a/c to the 6th floor roof, they said they both contributed. I like the teamwork and positive attitude. Our technician was Marik and another gentleman.
Very responsive and professional service. I like that there is a pre-determined price for service once a diagnosis is made, although it was not clear that additional time might be required. Nonetheless, I enjoyed them and I will continue to use them for my heating and cooling needs.

My wife and I recently bought a town house. Our home inspector advised us that our hot water heater was 20 years old and replacing it should be a priority on our new home to do list. After doing my research on the cost to replace a hot water heater I found Shavitz to be very fair and competitive. A few days later my brand new hot water heater was installed. Our boiler decided it was time to lose pressure on a 0 degree day. I contacted Shavitz and they had the tech there that same morning. The boiler was repaired in a matter of hours.
