The customer service people are very unfriendly and rude . They charged me around 500$ deposits for connecting of the utilities in my new home without clarifying the reason !!! I wish we had another option to change the utility company.

Received a Delinquent Utility Bill on a condo I sold over a year ago. I inquired about the bill and was told that I had an another active account so they attached the bill my tenant (no, the NEW OWNER) bill to my account b/c they did not have any information on the owner. I did everything including closing out the account when I sold this place, I am on my way to see PWC right now. May have to get an attorney involved, it's the principle. Their problem that they did not receive the accurate information on the NEW OWNER... If there was another power company available, I would surely not be a customer of this one...

As a new resident to North Carolina, I can honestly say PWC should be shut down!!
1. The app doesn't work for payment info
2. No one ever answers calls.
3. The automated voice says "Press 1 to report your outage", when 1 is pressed it immediately hangs up.
4. My area always lose power
Get someone in there that knows how to run a power company! This really makes me appreciate what I had (Dominion Virginia Power).

I have notice the my watts would jump up from 30 a day to 155 in two days during the fall and winter, even when I do nothing different with my electric heating usage. Keep my unit on 70 degress. Either someone is stealing my electricity or pwc has jacked up my meter to raise my rate over the 1,000 phase I. I keeps a close eye on my meter, so I see the crazy sikes it gets of no reason at all.
Now the facility fee and other fees all together is $10 extra. Now I'm paying$63 in just electric, water, and sewer fees and tax. Plus whatever they say I'm using which is more then what I'm actually using. I keep everything off until 7pm. Yeah, no internet plugged or nothing. Just the fridge, oven, and hot water heater. Everything goes off at 11pm. We live like we in the poor 1940's and our bill runs high. They sike it close to $200 in the winter even when I decided to try kerosene heater instead. Talking about lowering the energy and water, but siking up the fees.

I had to leave a rating but doesn't even deserve 1 star, that is how poorly this company is run. I guess this is the type of service you get when a municipality runs your utility company. At least a private company pretends to care about customer service.

I paid my bill 2 days early but with an account balance of $0, my autopay still came out as billed 3 weeks prior. PWC won't refund my overpayment. That's not their money. This monopoly has to stop. What happened to doing what's right for the customer? Ridiculous.

No Stars should be an option here. My experience, far too long to detail, confirmed for me that what I once chalked up to poor management and pitiful staffing, is in reality intentionally criminal. Monopoly or not, they need to be investigated. I have no doubt that they deliberately do the run around, insanely long holds, laughable excuses, outright lies, and refusal to provide refunds knowing full well that most people will just give up and go away. And they're right. Customers have to stop allowing this corporate BULLY to get away with ripping off the public. They're no different than the likes of DirectTV Duke Energy and Spectrum in attitude..."This is how we'll take advantage of you and there's nothing you can do about it.... while we make massive profits."

They always support non-profit organizations around the community. During our last Science Festival, the Fascinate-U Children's Museum received a generous donation of water for our volunteers and they gave us great giveaways for the children as well. They have donated water for other events at the museum in the past and we are truly thankful for their continued support.

I've been with pwc for around 3 years. The customer service is pretty poor, their system has errors after which they cut your power, it feels like they make up their prices (I was gone on vacation, no one was home, and I received a bill for twice my normal monthly amount.,with nothing left on). I gave a star for quick power restorations when the power goes out. Hopefully they change a bit so I can change this to a positive review.

I agree, it is hard to get a human on the phone (you HAVE TO BECAUSE their online and phone system is useless). Sometimes I have to try a couple of times.
Another thing, why did PWC remove the option to get your balance from the automated line using your phone? As it is I still cannot set up an online account, I keep getting an error message. I never had problems until recently. Their messages are always about "unusually high call volumes" so why can't we at least have access to our balances through a low tech easy means-the phone!

They need to figure out their automated system quick, because PWC looks like a bunch of amateurs.

Worst customer service ever. Called four times, got four different answers. Customer Programs representative said well, I don t want to start pointing fingers or placing blame.... All while she is telling me the problem I should may landscaper s fault. Still uncertain how my landscaper is responsible for three PWC customer service reps telling me something completely different than what was told me today. Let s face it, why should they care when 5ey know we don t have any options. Wish I had a choice to change companies.

The customer service department is ludicrous. I had problem with their accounting department processing my payment via checking account. They informed me that because I inputted my information incorrectly my account is now blocked and I have to use their expedited payment process (which includes a convenience charge). Seeing that I obviously made a mistake I asked if I could have this rectified so I could pay my bill LIKE I HAVE BEEN FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS but they said there is nothing that can be done. At this point I asked to speak with a supervisor who basically gave me the same runaround. So long story short, because of a simple error I now have to jump through hoops just to pay my electric bill. I also asked why I wasn't notified of this error at which point they told me it's my responsibility to make sure my bills are paid.. Seems to me they could care less about the customer's experience. Too bad I can't just switch utility providers. What a bunch of unreasonable egotistical blockheads.

I have been with PWC since 2009. At the time of wr...

I have been with PWC since 2009. At the time of writing that is seven years. I had them when I had an apartment and have had them at my home due to this over-regulation allowing only one power provider per area. Customer service is generally abysmal and they jack up rates so they can do what they want with the extra funds, like building a giant building which is supposed to be "green", or purchasing thousands of the new "smart" meters which can be used to spy on you (Google this, I am in IT and have seen this to be true in person) and are the cause of poor sleep and house fires. They then save bundles of cash while simultaneously getting rid of employees which read older style, reliable, safe meters. In spite of saving all that cash, they want to charge a fee to customers keeping reliable, mechanical meters, an action struck down in several states already.

The customer service is probably the worst part. They like to charge you to go paperless. Every other company on the planet gives you a break for going paperless, but these guys want to CHARGE for using a card and electronic billing. This means you need to go to the bank or an ATM, pull out your cash, go to the office, and pay them in person. What a pain! Get with the 21st century and let us go paperless for free! You will save money on the bills you don't need to print!

Not only that, but you may speak to somebody one day and request an extension or be told that things are fine and have your power cut off the next! Then the person you speak to has no record of the previous conversation or they say that the person you spoke to was not authorized to tell you that. Is it my job now to know EXACTLY who to speak to every time I call in? These guys need to get their act together! Twice I spoke to people and was told different stories.

Finally, the water they deliver is treated WAY too often. It smells like pool water (think amonia or chlorine) coming out of my shower head. I buy bottled water due to this. Oh, and they charge sewer based solely on water use. This means that should you wash your car or truck, you get charges more for sewer despite not using it! My advice is to say screw it and drill your own well to plumb into your spigots. This way you can water the lawn or wash your car without a $5,000 sewer bill.

My advice is to consider PWC the single most reason not to move into an area serviced by them. Seriously, I'll take a higher crime area to get away from these fools. I have firearms and am trained in how to use them. Sadly, there is nothing I can do against PWC because they're my only choice so screw me! Oh, and if it isn't in the notes, YOU are stuck with any fees because the support is so perfect they always fill out notes. I have had Four County Electric (Bladen County, NC) and Progress Energy (Raleigh, NC) and had ZERO problems with either. I loved them both. This is the first utilities provide I actually hate. I hope you do not hit hard times either, as they do not work with you and you may be without power.

I will say this in their defence however. They have a fairly stable power grid and the ONLY time I lost power for any length of time in the past seven years is when Hurricane Matthew came through. It was up one day after though. Their line crews deserve a pat on the back for that.

I had a family emergency (death in family) I was $135 behind and they shut me off without a notice on door. Like wow I have seen other peoples bills from when we had our bad winter storm here for two weeks being $400 behind and I get shut off for just $135. Horrible company and they only offer for you to pay your bill without a fee if you pay by text message but they never send you notices to pay via text. SUCH A SCAM!!

These people are crooks. They monopolize Fayetteville and charge ridiculous " basic facility fees." Water and sewer fees separate that are double your actual usage fee. They control all the area leaving no competition and forcing people to stay with their awful company. No one working there has any idea what they're doing. I just had to switch to them for my water after moving and have seen a water bill for two weeks of service that has doubled my usual water bill for a month of service.

Lots of people unhappy with them, but they have always come out pretty quick when I needed power restored or other things. Worst utility company! Unfortunately we the people have no other choice and they use this to their advantage. No payment plans for those struggling to pay either, they just add more fees making it impossible to get ahead. They also will give disconnections to homes with small children with only 2 days notice. NO concern for the welfare of the people.

I was furious with them today, after paying my bill four days before my bill was due, they had still turned my services off for non payment with out any notice. I called up there earlier in the day to ask a basic question about our sprinkler system and not one rep said anything about a disconnection or a late bill being due (even though there wasn't). I had to find out when I got home I the middle of the day and when I did finally get someone on the phone about it, the rep said she seen the payment but it was just an error that it was disconnected. After she put a work order in she said someone would be coming after 3:00 but could not give me an exact time. I have things to do and this is a huge inconvenience.

I don't expect an response from PWC...from the loo...

I don't expect an response from PWC...from the looks of a majority of their customers negative posts, I'm sure they've stopped reading or even caring about delivering better service...I Have just moved to Fayetteville and have realized just how bad the service is...
1 million people can't be wrong. I can't fault PWC for charging a deposit based on your credit in order for your lights to be turned on...because unfortunately that is a Statewide thing? In New York, they realized that Heat and Electricity were a basic necessity so didnt base it off of your credit and then charge you an arm & a leg just to have something that you needed...cable I can understand, but heat, water, and electricity? Heck, if you were the landlord you were resposible for Water and garbage in NY...But thats neither here nor there,
When you talk to customer service lets just say my situation...Me: Hello, I'm calling to see how much the bill is.
PWC: It's $437 for the deposit.
Me: What?! We paid the deposit??!
PWC: How long ago?
Me: About three weeks ago? What do you mean...I paid $300 and my son paid the rest??!! It's in my son's name.
(Mind you, I just moved to Fayetteville)
PWC: Well, it's not in his name.
Me: Ummm, whose name is it in? We paid the deoosit?
PWC: The complex you live at.
(To cover up your obvious mistake...lets put it all on the customer)
PWC: Your son was supposed to call us when he made the deposit.
Me: My son came to the office to make the payment..why would he need to call??!! (HE'S STANDING IN FRONT OF YOU!!! PHYSICALLY! I WOULD THINK THAT WOULD BE THE TIME YOU WOULD DO ALL OF THIS...KNOWING THIS IS NEW SERVICE!!!???)
I digress...Because i'm getting frustrated...
Me: I was on the phone when service was set-up...no one told us this? How much is the bill?
PWC: I don't know? You're going to have to get with your complex manager to see how you're going to pay that?
(Trying to keep my composure cool? I get off the phone)
No matter how much of a monopoly you hold over in any business...you should never put your customer last or even act like you don't care...

Holy crap...just the worst company from every aspect of a business. They pass a $3.50 Western Union fee to the customer just for paying your bill over the phone. You have to wait FOREVER on hold if, God forbid, you ever have to call for customer service. If you go to the service center, they only accept cash. Who carries $300 around with them? That's what Visa debit cards are for! These people are so high on themselves. They can treat customers any way they want to because they know that based on where you live, you're stuck with them for your power and water. They don't have to give you good customer service; kind of like when you go to the post office or DMV. Fayetteville's hometown utility:what a load of crap.

A company that can do whatever they want because you have to use them. Worst customer service ever. I'd expect better treatment in a Viet Cong jungle camp. Nearly impossible to just pay a bill online or enroll in autopay and they will charge a 'convenience' fee just to pay your bill. Might as well just make the bill $3.50 more and not lie about 'convenience'. It's 2016...paying with a check shouldn't even be a thing, but these guys prefer it. Get with the times. Actually no, just stop existing and let a different company who cares about customers take over.

Horrible customer service. They called me to talk about a bill and hung up twice! I had called to cancel my services before the end of 2018 and they claimed that i did not and that there was no record on file. I left the state at the end of december and my lease was finished on the 10th of January. Now they want to charge me for the 6 days that no one was even in the apartment because they do not know how to properly do their job. Just ridiculous. You have one job. Please learn to do your job.

Few facts, I already have an account with PWC in g...

Few facts, I already have an account with PWC in good standing with an account number. Service at my home was transferred to a renter in 2016 while I was at another assignment. They turned it off when the renter departed at the end of AUG 2018. I needed services turned back on and switched to my account when I moved back to the house at the end of the month, SEP 18.

Website states "If you submit your work order prior to 2 PM you should receive same day services." After submitting your work order, it states "A representative will contact you within 24 hours." We attempted to use the site on a Saturday and Sunday, but it was not working. Sunday we submitted an email to the service support center hoping for a response Monday. Monday morning at 8AM we were able to get the website to work and received a confirmation number with the statement about 24 hours. At 9AM we called to confirm and received an automated message on a loop telling us that due to volume we should use the website or submit an email with no answer or even an option to talk to a human. We left a voicemail.

At this point, it is 10 AM Monday morning, and we have left a service email, voice mail, and submitted a work order online with a confirmation number received. At 2 PM we call to report we still do not have electric. A rep tells us that we have not submitted a work order and actually tells me it is not possible that I have a confirmation number, says we didn't call, and we didn't email. She then states "I do see in your notes that you have left a phone number for us to call" that statement confirms she is looking at my work order as she is repeating what I wrote in my "additional comments" section.

I call the employee out on her lie. "ma'am you just read that note from my work order." "Ohh yes sir, but nobody has taken action on it... We usually do not address voicemails, emails, or work orders until after 5 PM." Umm... wait a minute, your website gives a now absurd statement about the same day. If I submit before 2 PM, but you refuse to read it until after 2 PM how does anyone get same day service? At this point I explain that movers and people are going to start arriving can you at least turn on the electricity. "No sir, that requires a tech visit and we will bill you $23 for that visit... don't worry everything thing will start in the morning."

Okay, at 11AM Tuesday electricity is on! As for water... nothing. I call back to have a rep tell me "sir, we turn on electricity here in the office, but water requires a technician." I ask, "so at what point do I call back if the water isn't on." "Sir we close at 8 PM." "Okay so I need to call by 7:30, 6, 7:59... what point." "Sir we close at 8 PM." "Okay but at what point should a tech have visited my home, you guaranteed services today?" "Sir we close at 8 PM." "So, at 7:59 if I do not have water I can call you, and you guarantee you will send a tech after hours to fix my problem?" "Yes sir, because we close at 8PM." "I'd like to talk to your supervisor."

Supervisor gets on the phone, and I recap everything for her (actually as I write this). I highlight that an employee told me that nobody reads or responds to anything until after 5PM to avoid same day services and one lied to me about my work order and insisted that since nobody saw my work order until after 2PM when I called back that a tech could not come to turn on my electricity. She states "I am very sorry about that because I am looking at your work order it was submitted yesterday morning and reviewed at 10:26 AM." "Ma'am, are you telling me that in fact you didn't wait until 5PM and reviewed it well before 2PM?" "Yes, sir." "Okay so please explain to me why my electricity was not turned on??"

Ohh... and they responded to the Monday morning voicemail after 5PM that Monday much like the employee said would happen. In the end, PWC is an absolute joke with abysmal customer service and a blatant disregard for their clients.

I left my AC/lights off for most of the month and they still find ways to charge into the hundreds. People outside of town might pay 1/5th for the same usage. The fact that there is no alternative service is the only reason they're around. There are no redeeming qualities to this business. Just another way to squeeze money out of a working man. If they could find a way to break into your house and charge you for the static electricity in the carpets they would. If they could find a way to detect paranormal energies and charge you for the presence of spirits from the afterlife, they would. If they could find a way to invent a telepathy machine and charge you for the mere thought of activating the air conditioner, they would. If they could find some justification to forcibly install floodlights in your living room and render them incapable of being shut off, they would. Garbage business, run by garbage people. Just another reason to avoid living in the city if at all possible.

I know people only write reviews when something is bad, so I have to jump in with good comments. During two previous bad storms, when the neighborhood power went out, they were out during the storms to get power back on quickly. When trying to use their rebates, when I filled out the paperwork wrong, someone called to help me get it right. When I asked about why my bills was so high, someone was patient in explaining how the charges worked. They have helpful email articles about how to reduce energy use and fees. The service has been reliable and the customer service there when I needed them - better than some areas of the country I have lived in (7 other states).

I have a house that is vacant and for sale in Fayetteville. I've lived/owned the house for over 20 years - utilities have always been off the chart...always. Right now the lights are off, there are no inhabitants, and the HVAC is turned off. My monthly bill last month was over $200. If that's not criminal, I don't know what is. I don't know what it takes to get an official investigation into the PWC, but someone or a group of people need to be in jail. No way this is not fraud - it's impossible. Pure government theft.

What a freaking hose job this company is. They arbitrarily change their basic service rate at will and 'mis-read' meters seemingly to just take more money from unsuspecting customers. And a $310 deposit to even get service. And they can just tell you to screw off because they have a monopoly on electricity. I haven't needed a utility deposit in 20 years or more but PWC sees me as a risk. Jerk-offs

There is no way a power bill should be almost as much as your rent! Pwc knows they are overcharging people, never have a I dealt with a power company as bad as pwc. My bill for electric and water together went from $238 to $544 in month with no changes in electric consumption. Highway robbery!

I paid my bill online, they sent me a bill showing I owed $0 then sent me a shut off notice. I had to talk to a billing director to fix the problem.

145,000/10 would live off the grid just so I didn't have to deal with these guys.

Thanks PWC!

These people are the biggest scam. They charged us 230 dollars for electric for our 700 square foot apartment. When we asked how it s possible they were rude and not helpful. They also said that we should turn our central air to 78 degrees..... Ours was set on 73 and never changes. Ridiculous.

I can't believe that in 2016 I can't set up the authorization to draft my bank account via the internet to pay my bill. A customer agent told be the reason behind it is that not everyone has access to the internet, I don't believe that one bit but if that's the lie you're going with why not keep the snail mail option and set up the online option too? I'm sure they are thankful to have no competition.

I moved into my Hope Mills home in September 01 of 2017. That month's bill was only $97. October & November were $110. Why? Because I have Black-out cutains and blinds, put LED light bulbs in EVERY fixture, & being in the military, am at work 12 hrs of the day, shower there after we exercise, and I'm gone for days to weeks at a time. I paid $400 this past April 10 and they are now saying this month's bill is $443!!!! For the same usage as described above. That is a luxury car payment! I open the front and rear doors for air flow. The AC/heating unit hasn't been on since mid March. Oh, did I mention I am the only one living here? I called to inquire about the justification, & was told they charge by address!??? This is blatant robery. Out right theft. Who in the Hope Mills govt. is getting the juicy kickback that allows PWC's criminal extortion to continue?

Had the opportunity to speak to Levita this afternoon, best service I have received in the better part of two decades. I had nothing but negative experiences in the past, rude and difficult to get anything done. This afternoon changed that perception, great customer service, easy to talk to, answered all my questions and handled my account issues very quickly. Levita gets 5 stars for the PWC.

My water bill alone is almost $300. That s unheard of. When I call and ask why they it s because I m being charged for water out and water in. It s only me and my wife in the house, we don t use our irrigation system, so what s the real reason I m paying so much? Someone please give me the name of another water company I can use in Fayetteville. This is a monopoly.

If I could give zero stars I would. Customer Service is worthless including elevating an issue to their managers. Then cap off that with a $3.50 fee to pay my bill over the phone... I guess when you are a monopolistic utility company you can exploit your customers without fear.

If there was less than one star I would have chosen it. The worst customer service ever. They woman was rude and condescending. She did nothing to help and the only reason she stayed on the phone was to talk in circles and try and irritate me. THE WORST!!!! This is what happens in a monopoly.
