I have been with PWC for 20 plus years. This company has gotten worst over time. I have read about the poor service and the reviews from many customers new and old. My problem begins two months ago as PWC was revamping their system and page. For years I have been paying my account the same way through epay. Well for the past 2 months and all of a sudden my payment wasn t received. I called PWC and informed them about a letter I received where I didn't pay my account and if I don't pay it within days I will be disconnected. After talking with Kathy, I was told I had written a bad check, which that was not true, I haven't written check to PWC in years than Kathy went on to say I had enter the wrong account number on Speedpay site. That was not factual as well. The system will not let you process a payment and give you confirmation without the proper information in. Now at this point I'm really frustrated with PWC. I told Kathy stop making up lies. I have paid my account many times on speed pay and I have never experience anything like this before. She even stated the system could not find my account because there was not enough numbers on the check. I kept asking Kathy what check? Then she went on to say again, it s not a bad check and since the system could not process the information it came back to PWC as bad check from my bank. I have not change my bank or account number, But PWC refused to say it was their system. How is it that I ve paid my PWC bill the same way for 9 months this year with no problems and in OCT/Nov I put the wrong account number in that BS.. and don't make any sense. Now, PWC is saying their policy is to put me on a 12 month suspension because of improper payment. I have to pay by cash or credit. Wow! So it doesn t matter how long you have been with PWC, its just their way. It truly all about money. The military runs this town, and it shows for the working class customer, they have to pay the most. Higher deposit, some area in Fayetteville NC have higher rates, this town do not treat or handle all customer the same. PWC will remain with a 1.7 poor rating as long as they continue to mislead customers and treat them with no respect. Everyone in this small town pays a hefty price for utility here. Things could be a lot better. This is a prime reason why so many customers are moving out of Fayetteville going to towns out of the 50 miles radius. Along with the, property tax, Cable, Electric, and water, prices are outrageous. I m like another frustrated customer this is a big monopoly going on here. I will forward this to the headquarters as well. I have had some good things from PWC but their bad policy and services out way the good quality ones.

I wish zero stars were an option. Nothing golden about this company. Horrible company... horrible customer service. I wish there was business competition so customers can select the better option.

I just want to have reliable power for at least a month. I've lived in fayetteville for about 3 years now, and I can't recall a month that we didn't lose power or have a brown out. I understand that hurricanes and natural disasters cause issues... but that doesn't excuse how often pwc doesn't keep the power working properly.

First the deposit for my electric was $300. Okay so I paid that and got the services turned on. Several months later I had to move so I when I called them to transfer service they tell me that the property where I'll be moving to I'm responsible for water and sewer and that would be a $150 deposit. I had to pay half of that upfront before they turned the services on. One time I paid my bill days before it was due. A week later they turned my services off and when I called them and asked why they turned my services off they had no answer but it was a clerical error. This company sucks period! Getting a bill extension sucks also. I'm from Virginia and I sure do miss Dominion Power.

I just got off the phone with a very kind customer service rep. I was a little skeptical after reading the reviews and seeing such terrifying experience others may have had with this company, but I wanted to share my positive experience. The rep explained the purpose of the deposit fee (for those with not-so-great credit) and with the verification of good credit and being military - the deposit fee was waived. The rep was personable and kind while taking my information to set up the account. I think if you re respectful and genuine when speaking with the reps, they ll be more responsive - isn t that the case with just about anyone? PWC is looking good so far! :-) *Also, I d like to share that energy consumption/ electric costs have increased all over the state of North Carolina and that really can t be something you blame one company for - Duke Energy Progress prices rocketed up this year, too.

PWC are the most horrible business center I have ever dealt with. I want to move out of Fayetteville just so I don't have to work with them. PWC has no problem trumping up charges so they can get more money out of an already starving family. How disgusting is it that I waited on hold for over an hour and got transferred five different times. The customer service manger was just as useless as the rest of her staff. If you have any other option (heating your house like a hobo with a trash fire) DO IT!! AVOID THESE A-HOLES AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

PWC excellence performance before, during, and after Hurricane Florence was not something to overlook. This crew worked hard to get my power on time . Very happy with their execution. Also, the out-of-state's and PWC's crews deserved recognition for their team effort.

At least, my money is being invested well with PWC.

1 star rating

PWC is too expensive. The bill is over $300 a month. PWC abuse their customers because they monopolize the services in this town. Customer service personnel will give you 300 excuses or run-around before they tell you their services are too expensive or there is something wrong with the prices or system. As soon as I have the opportunity I will move out of this poorly ran and monopolized town.

The worst company I have ever had to deal with in my life. Words cannot express my dissatisfaction with this company, not to mention I just called them 16 times and still cant actually get a person on the phone. The only accurate thing the automated system lets you do is pay your bill. If there is an emergency or a power outage or you just have a question, forget about it. Not to mention most times you call, they as you to call them back at another time, then it promptly hangs up!

Worst ever customer service, worst ever billing principals. BY far the WORST rates in electricity and sewage usage. WHO DOES PWC answer to? If we as a community had other choices in utility company WE WOULD NOT pick PWC. They are forced upon us! With that said, when we have a disruption in the weather, we have to boil water for weeks till it starts to run clear. Even at the end of a boil water warning, we still have cloudy water. All this money we pay them and the standards of service are below par. Wheres Duke Energy when you need them?! Disgrace of a company.

This company is a scam and con. I moved out and had electricity shutoff on July 15th and they charged me for power in August as well how is that if the service was disconnected???? The only thing left on was water until August 15th due to my con and scamming landlord. So they used my whole deposit for the bill which ended up being about 600.00 which is crazy if i only owed 125.0p for July but I no longer lived there after July 15th. How is the an additional bill in the amount of 260.00 even possible. Scam...if you have to use PWC as your service provider then do not even have over there. They don't even deserve one star. Never moving to a PWC area again in my life.

My PWC bill for the first couple months was about ...

My PWC bill for the first couple months was about $125 to $170 a month. I stay in a small two bedroom apartment with just my toddler and myself. After the first couple months my bill ran $230 to $280. I called PWC and was told my 3 different customer service reps that the water coming from my apartment was abnormally high and that I probably have a leak at my apartment. After hiring two plumbers to come check the apartment--no leak was found. I called PWC back and let them know. They then said well the water on the account looks normal, that its the electric that is high. I asked them why in the world 3 employees told me it was a water leak and now after hiring a plumber and nothing was found coincidentally its now the electric. Then they told me that my use is average. I asked well if its "NOW" average, then why is my bill so much more expensive than everyone else in my apartment complex. I was told by an employee at PWC that I cannot compare how long I take showers to other people in my complex. I said well then why did you just tell me that my use was average. Basically, long story short, I was getting the run around and they are ripping people off.

Absolute joke. They have a sheriff on desk at all times probably out of fear of being attacked by disgruntled customers, that's how outrageous these people are. My 1 bedroom apartment costs twice as much than my parents 3 story house in Phoenix. Hell I'm about one more screwing away from just generating my own damn electricity with a spin to win bicycle.

It is impossible to deal with this department's cu...

It is impossible to deal with this department's customer service representatives. On a scale of 1-10, their comprehensive ability is about a 2. I requested that they change my water meter because it showed 280 gals per hour usage in the middle of the night, for over 8 hours, and they insist I have a toilet running somewhere. Being single and living in a small house.....I would hear a toilet running to the tune of 280 gallons an hour. I keep getting passed from person to person, who cannot relay the simple request, "I want to speak to an engineer about the operation of the meter." My opinion is that since it's electro-mechanical, it got stuck recording 280 gallons an hour, until I got up the next morning, actually used some water, and that kicked it back into correct operation.
I gave them 1 star because I still have utilities.

I'm not sure why I'm getting my bill a WEEK AFTER ITS DUE. No postage date on envelope and I'm seriously debating on giving these shiesty people a call. Not the first time this has happened and I'll be damned if I give these cucks any more money than needed. Can't wait to move. Thank God we use Duke Energy for electric.

In the past they have received a bad reviews. However they have changed and care about their customers. I had an issue with a broken city pipe that flooded my home. PWC took care of everything repaired the problem and damages to my home. I was fearful at times but they showed me that they care and sought to make sure my family and I were safe.

The absolute worst utility company I have ever dealt with!!! So out deposit to start off with was $355!!!! Who charges that?!?!?! We've had 9 addresses in 10 years and have never never had to put down a depoait like this. Fast forward to today.. Our bill was past due $200 and I recieved the new bill with that and the currwnt amount 240 due by 7/24. I have not recieved a disconnection notice, and nowhere on that bill did it state that anount had to be paid earlier...lights were turned off today without any notice. We were late because we've been unemployed and my husband just recently enlisted again after being out 4 years and our first check is Friday. I had already had it planned to pay them, but no help from them....it's absolutely insane!!!

When I started my service, the agent told me I should keep my irrigation meter on as "it was only $3 a month to do so and the reconnect fee was higher for a whole year." Fast forward 6 months later, and I have been charged $32 a month for the privilege of never using my irrigation system, only to be finally told the reconnect fee is only $22. Why did they lie to scam me out of $192?
