Now Larimar Punta Cana Resorts & Spas Review

This hotel was really nice. From the beginning: checking was smooth and easy. We were greeted with the drink of the day, we are preferred members so our room was way towards the back,close to the beach and the preferred area. The room was amazingly beautiful, a hot tub and a view of the pool and the beach. Couldn't ask for better room. The mini fridge didn't seem to be cooling at its full capacity but it wasn't too bad. The staff was awesome everyone was super nice. The preferred area bar had top shelf alcohol and snacks until midnight. The only issued that we had was the food. All of the restaurants food was mediocre at best, the food just tasted cheap, to the point that we ended up skipping dinner and just ate snacks from the preferred bar area. The night club was good and so was the casino. The gift shop overpriced as expected. Would like to go back, but because if the food situation we may look somewhere else first. Overall really nice place.

This resort is very elegant, the attentions of the employees are very personalized and pleasant.
They have a wide variety of food within their restaurants, buffet style and with good flavor. Your pool area is safe and comfortable. Its beach is wide and natural with very comfortable sand.
The bars are open most of the day and have a lot of variety but their juices are artificial and that detracts from the flavor of the drinks.
Overall the resort is very good. I recommend it!

It's suuuper! For families with children and without them, the omelet that can be tried of all the hotels and a super service in the areas, especially in the pool and in the main square to the lobby.

Disappointing really, the restaurant staff were nice and friendly, but, the bar staff were horrendous, actually made you feel unwelcome (unless you tipped of course) I went to the main bar and got served by people who turned up after me because I didn't have any dollars in my hand, the next time I took a dollar bill with me to the bar, and got a very different experience. Its an all inclusive resort, my view is if you do an exceptional job and service, then you would receive your tip. I didn't get this, the staff saw it as an expectation and an insult if you didn't. Also if you decide to go here, don't bother with the preferred club, we still got served the same drinks and could go to the same places so its a scam apart from you get a slightly nicer room to stay in. Definitely wouldn't go back here, previously stayed in the Iberostar Dominican Republic and that was levels above this resort.

We came to Now Larimar with our extended family a group of 12 of us. I will say this is our second time at the Now Larimar Punta Cana. The first time we went we raved about it. It was so nice, we wanted to go back again with the rest of the family. So planned a trip through APPLE with eeverything so everyone could go for a week and signed up for preferred ( which was extra) and boy was I disappointed and embarrassed.

Were do I start.. Some of the staff was very kind. Here are a few that stood out to our family. Ezequier , Heldin, Gabriel and Josue from Apple.

Here is what I didn't like. When I got there we went to the preferred area where you were able to sit and eat snack. It was pretty barren. They were all wiped out empty ( Mind you we went to both Preferred rooms and they were both empty) The only thing you could find were maybe a hand full of lunch meats. unlike our first time where the snacks were plenty. But I tried to over look that and think well when we get our self situated we will sit down and eat. We went to the beach area were we decided to eat at the bar area on the beach. I was welcomed with roaches. Yes I said it ROACHES. I nearly chocked. So I tried not to make a scene and I told the gentlemen that there was a roach. He proceeded to chase it down and kill it. And then up popped another. I was so grossed out not only did I lose my appetite I was mortified. I went to the Preferred area and told Andres and he shrugged his shoulders as if it wasn't a big deal. I was sure to get a photo of this guy ( see below).

Our room was nice. The air condition was good but if you want room service it took about 1.5 hrs to arrive and If you need your mini bar stocked it's not done daily as advertised for you. Instead you have to call to request it be stock. And if you thought you should only call once your mistaken it will take at least 2 calls a day for you to finally get water and soda in your fridge.

Next lets go to the shows. The first time we went was about 5 year ago. In 5 year the shows were exactly the same nothing has changed. The one thing that did change was how they celebrated ( July 4th) they celebrated it with music and extreme cursing along with the almost naked women dancing vulgarly on stage with Bras and thongs. I was mortified! The cursing was so much that the children had to leave. This is a family resort and not something a company would want to have there name reflect so poorly on.

Last, the restaurant food was horrible. The Habatchi which I so immensely loved when I was there 5 years ago. Was now a factor line. You came in and they wanted you out with in 30 min. They no longer put on an enjoyable show as they had in the past. This time they cooked for you and that was it. No asking for seconds and they rushed you out for there next clients.

All and all I wish we took our 19k somewhere else. We were all extremely disappointed.

Good place to rest .. but the room leaves a lot to be desired .. bad mattress, lack closet for clothes, bedding with musty smell.

#LetsGuide It is a luxury hotel with all services included. It has access to the beach, swimming pools, a small gym and enough entertainment options to have a good time without leaving the facilities. There are several restaurant options where you can taste Mexican, French, Asian, American, Italian cuisine and a buffet with very varied food for voracious appetites. The staff is friendly and you just have to ask for what you need so that someone can help you get it. It does not matter if you go on vacation or for work, it is a good place to enjoy the natural beauty and the kindness of the Caribbean.

The hotel is great. It has many nice spaces. An all-inclusive hotel near the beach. It has 5 restaurants, two bars, a nightclub, swimming pool and many green areas. Your food is very good. And the beach is very beautiful, offers service of sun beds, towels and innkeepers.

Wonderful and cozy place. Ideal for those who want to relax and rest.

I did not like it, it does not have a disco, the entertainment is really bad, the food is terrible, even the Dominican food is bad.

I had a great trip, and the beaches are beyond beautiful, but this resort should by no means be classified as a 5 star hotel. Overall, the staff is friendly but definitely not that helpful. We ordered room service, extra towels etc. and nothing was ever delivered. The rooms are dated and extremely underwhelming. We traveled with a large group for a wedding, so I can say first hand that many of them have missing lamps, curtains, no hot water, and/or mold. The wedding venues are pretty, but you need to make sure you're okay with a very public wedding. They by no means clear the beach or swimming area behind the ceremony, so I found that to be pretty uncomfortable. They also offer the same terrible wine and bottom shelf alcohol at weddings which was pretty disappointing.

The resort offers everything expected from a 5-star resort, but just not at the level you would expect. The food is also terrible. I found a couple items that held me over for the week, but I by no means enjoyed a meal.

All in all, if you're looking for a fun, affordable vacation, I recommend coming. However, if you're a 4/5 star hotel kind of traveler, don't even think about it.

The service we got at my friends wedding was amazing. Yovany dionis jose edwin francisco and a few others did an amazing job. These guys deserve a raise. They where great and ensured that everyone had fun and enjoyed the night and got everything you needed right away. Amalia was the photographer and she was very graceful. Her smile and charisma made everyone feel comfortable. They should have more people like them greeting and answering the phone.
When we arrived for the wedding they where very rude. I had to call a few times to ensure that we could enter the gate since we where not staying there the bride had added us to the list many times to let them know we where going for the wedding. When calling they gave a hard time about attending the wedding and gave me all different prices to pay for a pass to be able to be at the wedding. Which was very fruatrating since we where part of the wedding party and we had to go dressed since they wouldnt allow us to get dressed with everyone else unless we pay for a day pass along with the night pass. Needless to say if that was my experience just visiting I wouldn't stay.
Also that day at around 3pm something happened with their plumbing and there was no water. We left without being able to use a restroom that worked properly.
In my opinion customer service is a major quality to achive success and this place needs to improve that when people are arriving specially for events. A nice experience at an event can lead to more business.

The Resort was beautifully made, very spacious and clean.
We had the Preferred club which allowed us to go anywhere in the resort (special restaurants, exclusive parts of the beach etc) and everything was included (we even had a special check in and check out in a different room).
A very warm welcome was given to us and staff always available and helpful.
We went in July and I must say we were very happy with the weather, only cons was the seaweed by the beach however you can see the staff working on it to be removed daily.
There are so many activities with different operators and locations.
Food wise there was a big variety of cousins even though we were not really satisfied with the quality/standards of them.
Overall we had an amazing time.

I have stayed twice @ this resort and I love the country and the people. I made some very lovely friends at this resort and I look forward to seeing them

I just returned home yesterday from Now Larimar. This was our second stay at a Now resort & it was just as amazing as the first. I cannot say enough good thing about the staff. We did have one minor issue but it was fixed as soon as they could manage. We had booked a double room and were initially put in a king room. Having no double rooms available that first night they brought in an extra bed for the night & moved us to a double the following day. The bellman, Jose, who took us to our first room, helped us move to the second room, and helped us when we checked out, was great!!

The food was great & the buffet had something to satisfy everyone in our group. A member of the buffet staff, Modesto, went far out of his way to get something for my son that they didn't have at the dinner buffet. My son was I'll with a virus that he brought with him & had not had much to drink in a couple days so the chocolate milk that Modesto found for him was a very big deal to me. Again, thank you, Modesto!! Also, Deseree helped us get a reservation at thr Italian restaurant which we really appreciated. The ladies in the Cafe we also great.

The entertainment team was phenomenal. The shows were beyond great. The entertainment staff did everything they could to engage my son who did not make it easy for them. They do whatever they can to make everyone feel included but they aren't pushy if you choose not to participate.

The room was nice, comfortable & was kept clean. The housekeeping staff even put my son's stuffed animal in cute positions every evening which my son loved.

The pools were nice but the towel card thing is a bit of a pain. Having to trek clear to the towel booth & back daily as well as making sure all the towels were back by the time they left for the day was inconvenient. The bar tenders at the pool bar were amusing & friendly as well as the wait staff at the pool & the beach.

Now, the negative part. I did not like being swarmed by the vacation sales people the second we walked in the resort. They were very pushy & became downright rude when I said I wasn't interested. The guy who approached us also tried to bribe my son to convince me to go to his sales pitch breakfast & when that didn't work he then tried to guilt my whole group. This experience formed my initial impression of the resort & initially made me regret having booked my trip there. Dispite the overall great experience provided vy the Now staff, the Unlimited Vacation guys will make me think twice about booking in the future.

It's a typical resort. Pools are nice, lots of activities, buffet available almost all day. The French and Japanese restaurants were the ones everyone seemed to prefer. Rooms were cleaned daily with nightly turndown service. All ice is made with bottled water. As with any trip to the Caribbean, some of our group suffered from indigestion. I would definitely recommend taking plenty of Pepto Bismol. And waterproof sunscreen. The convenience store on the resort can be expensive.

We were here for a week or so for a wedding. The memories and friends we met and relationships we created here are forever. Excellent resort awesome service and unforgettable experiences. They take awesome care of there guests. We have been back to NOW resort many times now and we will continue to return. I posted a lot random photos. We have tons and tons of great memories here. Love it

Hotel: 5 stars, beautiful environment, rooms in the classic Caribbean style, large, clean, regularly cleaned, bed linen in the evening, large balcony, safe, internet in the room and in the whole area.
Pool: large, clean
Reptile: sandy, groomed daily, but at a slow oil pace a la Caribbean. I don't know why I don't take a tractor and I don't summarize it regularly?
Service directly on the beach, wearing drinks, few umbrellas ... overall, few umbrellas
Change of towels every day
Beach bar: excellent, helpful staff, mixed drinks great
Buffet on the beach: within all inkl, but weakly pick and still the same + uncooked meat. Meat can not do
WC on the beach and pool: clean, tidy
Security: constant surveillance 3-4 guards..super
Restaurant a la cart: weak, long wait, 50min for a meal, it doesn't pay to kill time
Restaurant Carneval: great restaurant, it is necessary to be cozy, sutden and without style. Many casnikov- tropical style .... but: great winter, why is it so climate? on the terrace, where there is a beautiful view of the park, there are two tables and I don't understand why I want to sit there. They all have long sleeves, but I'm on vacation and I don't want to wear a sweater :)
Animation program: great, performances by artists, live band every day, dance, folk habits..excellent
Except: Dominican evening and tents with souvenirs: annoying vendors, forcibly forcing goods ... it does not belong to the 5stars hotel.
Preferred Club: completely unnecessary, I don't know what extra I get for 80-120USD
Fitness: excellent, small but well equipped.
Park: landscaped, beautiful, lots of greenery, excellent
Reception: cool, no problem
Internet in the whole area- excellent

CONCLUSION: work on cleaning the beach, speed up the workers in restaurants, change the climate in the Carneval restaurant, cancel the souvenir sellers
Overall: I recommend and look forward to the next visit.

Really a wonderful place, both for the scenery, beaches, a special added value the kind, helpful and educated people. A pleasure !!! The facilities and rooms are a luxury. !!! I would always return to this place highly recommended.

Very nice place, clean, well maintained. you have to expect a lot of walking because the resort is big ... very big
The food is excellent, no matter where you go, whether at the buffet or the many a la carte restaurants. I suggest the Italian restaurant, the only restaurant that can be eaten outside. do not forget the restaurant Asian or French. Drop the American restaurant

For your stay, I suggest the Prefert Club, a little more than worth it, especially for the exclusive restaurant members Prefert club on the beach for lunch and dinner.

The resort is without a bracelet and the restaurants without reservations. a must in my opinion but I pause the question of waiting time in high season (we went in low season)

the only downside that removes 1 star in our opinion, is the disinterestedness of staff towards customers. The vast majority of employees ignore us, treat us with indifference or answer us anything. they look disillusioned, tired of their jobs. Only a small minority who have a smile and a passion (Ranniel at the bar prefert club, Alejandro at the swimming pool prefert club, Gladys at the reception, Yahenny buffet prefert club and Diodsy waitress at night at the central stage)

Small flat maintenance of the rooms would improve but apart from that it is an incredible site to take a family vacation.

It's an all inclusive. It has the beach nearby. I highlight the Japanese restaurant with show. For that you have to make a reservation. The more tips you leave, the better amount of alcohol is served.

Everything was beautiful! Customer service, food, rooms was all great! All of great entrainment in the evening for all ages. I recommend this place for family vacation or for your destination wedding!

It is a good hotel, the attentions and the service were very good. It has several a la carte restaurants and they do not need a previous reservation, so dining in any of them is possible, nor are there long waits. This hotel has jacuzzi in the rooms, which are spacious.

You can improve the variety of the buffet and the service of pool towels.

After spending about $3000 here my mom had $200 stolen from her after getting her room cleaned and they refused to do anything about it even though they went in her purse, the food and drinks were not worth it besides the habachi restaurant which still wasn t amazing. The buffet is what we survived there on but still had flys all over the place. They tell you they aren t responsible for activities at the beach which is full of seaweed anyway so all there really is was the pool which had a broken jacuzzi. The one star would be for the now entertainment and a few employees that s about it, they keep their place going. I would recommend secrets where my sister stayed which I should have followed.

Very nice grounds landscape is constantly maintained. Clean overall. Maid service 2 times a day. Fridge always stocked with beer,soda juice and Dasani water. Had room 1469 in preferred section closest to beach, extra restaurant and extra pool just for preferred guest. Food in buffet was really good compared to many Mexican resort all inclusive. Fresh and variety changed daily, very tasty. Mahi mahi fish always offered. Big deal for me being from Hawaii. Very pricey there,so I was thrilled to have it everyday. Shocked to not have shrimp offered anywhere. Best dinner is at Spice, Benihana type place. Or can do ala cart. Blue water grill food good had ribeye steak. But service was very bad, super slow. Capers in sister resort just a 2 minute golf cart ride away or 10 minute walk among pretty grounds. Good Italian food with salad bar. Service good nice clean place. Beach snack bar grill ok. Burger and hotdogs,chicken, pastry and fruit. Entertainment was best in my 18 years of traveling. The circus de soleil type show was my favorite. Live bands in plaza was average. Night club big,very nice , not much American music. But crowd still had fun. Casino small, 25 slots, usual game tables. Beach was nice, lots of palapas to choose from, never had a problem getting one anytime of day. Seaweed was constantly cleaned up and there was lots of it. Drink service on beach good. Vendors not a big problem, but on public shoreline lots of them. Time share sale pressure, not too bad. Just say No. Don't even agree to the meeting. Employees very friendly. Bonded with a few. Red bull in entertainment was excellent, Ray in buffet also. We got to know their personal lives. They work 14 hrs shifts for weeks before time off. Not seeing their families, being boarded in a building close to resort with 5 others in same room. Small pay, tips are taken from them by boss. Saw that first hand. These 2 are our favorite and a blessing to have gotten to know them as real people. The employees have hard lives, be kind to them. Corporate anywhere sucks. Kudos to those who try to make life good inspite of corporate. Wish them well.

If they did not try so hard to convince you to buy a timeshare, this place would have been OK. However, the "hard sell" was a definite turn-off. Ain't going back here again.

It was very difficult to find the place, there is no sign with this name and the service and service leaves a lot to be desired.

Big and nice resort. Spaceous pool area and also a very nice beach. There are different restaurants, some are very good, like the asian one or the mexican. Others are rather bad, like the Italian one. For breakfast and lunch there is a big choice on the buffet.

The quality of the hotel has gone down compared to two years ago. The employees are different and the treatment to guests is not the same, specially in the 'preferred club'. It is absolutely different, not in the good way... Such a shame!

The entertainment team are by far keeping this place a live.

Great time. All the staff were super nice and food was great!

Service was great. Resort was beautiful. Good drinks, name brand liquor. Only downside was the food. I would rate everything I mention above a 5 star on its own. The food...2 stars at best. Avoid the Mexican, it was literally terrible. The French restaurant okay, the American restaurant was "good" in comparison. Hibachi was good too but requires reservation. Buffet was iffy at best. Really if food is important to you I wouldn't recommend this place.

BE CAREFUL OF WHICH BUILDING YOU ARE IN. Now Larimar Or Now Garden Larimar.

Now Garden Larimar:
Garden view is really jungle view. Imagine being on the ground floor with garden view, don't be surprised.
I travel three times a year, the Now Garden Larimar was quite an experience.
The staff was amazing just like any other resort.
We requested two rooms with two double beds and got two rooms with one bed each. I asked to be switched, I was told they are fully booked and nothing they can do. I told the manager and desk person to bring my suitcase from that room and bring it back to the lobby as it's less stressful in the lobby than the room. Magically, immediately two rooms with two beds were made available.
Once I moved into the new room, the mini fridge wasn't working. It was replaced right away, however it was not restocked for three days. They claimed they had no beers. Funny thing, everywhere else on the resort had beers.
Room service was missed once and next time was an hour and a half wait.
The resort is massive with beautiful grounds. You get use to the walking. The shuttle is slow, but understanding. It's about a 13 minute walk to the beach but worth it. Like any other resort, reserve your beach chairs early in the morning.
Would not recommend Now Garden Larimar but Now Larimar might be worth it. Now Larimar is the newer side and closer to everything.
Now Garden Larimar does have a boring pool with bad cocktails and one restaurant (Italian), excellent food. The other restaurants weren't that good and the buffet was ok.
It was a group 16 of us and 12 of us had issues with our rooms. The other 4 were in the Now Larimar, with minor complaints.
Be careful of where your room(s) located. You may not enjoy sitting out in your balcony in the evenings, scary jungle view.
Resort need to change room names. Change garden view to jungle view and this way people would not be surprised.

Just returned home friday 1-19-18..fabulous trip..resort is great..clean accommodations..staff went out of way to make your stay the best..very attentive..baby face is a sweetie.beach is beautiful..pools are very nice..food is good, not fabulous..but you won't starve..plenty..plenty plenty..

The resort is fantastic. Great amenities. Lots of fun stuff to do. The main reason for my 3 star review is the food. It was atrocious. That said, I didn't get to eat at all the restaurant, but the three I went to were aweful.

If you're after a budget Caribbean holiday with lots of sun then maybe this will work for you but expect limited quality.

The food was varied and there were a lot of choices in the restaurants but would avoid the buffet as it's extremely repetitive.

The shops were over priced and expect to pay through the nose if you need medicine.

No cocktails to speak of, pre-mixed slush mixers with a dash of rum and limited other options for drinks.

The excursions were what saved us and there are plenty of options for reps, however they do come up to you on the beach and whilst they're friendly folks it can get a bit annoying after a while.

Beautiful Resort. Very good service. Love the food. Only downfall is the exchange 55% is alot.

We will definitely be back. I can t believe there are even bad reviews in Now Larimar. We took our son (Justin) there for his graduation present. The resort is beautiful as it gets. We did the preferred package which was a nice touch with having a butler to take care of making reservations and stocking our mini fridge. Let me say our butler (Orlando) came and found us whenever his shift started and took care of what we needed. Orlando was outstanding. The food was way better than I thought it was going to be for All Inclusive. You have a great choice of restaurants between the two resort s and a buffet style restaurant that has a different theme every night. We usually had the same servers at the Carnavel Buffet, the Hostess Albavrina is very courteous front desk lady who is always smiling. Our servers Fraudy and Greisy were on top of whatever we needed and also always happy and smiling. I thought the facility was very clean and it s a very large facility. The entertainment they put on throughout the day and night is outstanding. They have yoga and Aerobics everyday either on the beach or at the pool, Jessica usually ran those shows and is very interactive with everyone and always smiling. I know I m going to forget some of the other names who ran the outdoor activities but they all have endless energy, charisma and great attitude. They all are doing shows all day long then go up to the front of the resort and do the night shows. We played relay games, two hours of baseball and other activities on the beach that included every age group and people from all around the world which was pretty cool to interact with them all. A special thanks for treating my family like kings and all of the entertainment goes to Mini Baby, Baby Face, Jay Z, Arcangel, Jessica and Cappuccino, they are the best group of guy and gals you could have employed. I know I forgot some names and I apologize for that, they all deserve a pat on the back. I cannot say thank you enough for all of your workers and staff at how nice they all were. There was a guy where we ate breakfast every morning that greets everyone with a Yeah Baby I believe his name was Lawrence, what a nice guy. Last but not least, we pretty much stayed on the beachfront all day and beautiful talented La Chiki who was serving our drinks all day long. She never let us run out of anything. She is so friendly and attentive to everyone out there, we loved her to death. When La Chiki would go on break, Samuel would take over and not miss a beat. These guys put in some long hours and always greet you with a smile and Hola. We will definitely be back to your resort next year. Punta Cana and Now Larimar we already miss you. Thanks, Cliff W.

Went for a wedding from April 4th-11th 2016. It was a great trip!! I had read reviews prior to going, and will admit I was very apprehensive about what I might find. Those reviews were wrong, and it was absolutely wonderful.

The entertainment team was great! And the variety of activities they had was exceptional! My favorite had to have been the beach party night, with the fire show!! It was absolutely wonderful!

The rooms were well kept, and turndown service each night was a nice treat. Our mini fridge was always stocked and with what we requested. (just beer and H20 for us please!) We always had clean towels, and never found one bug in our room.

The food was better than I expected, the only meal I did not like was at the Mexican restaurant the Fajita had to have had the driest chicken I had ever eaten in my life. Other than that no complaints! I would however suggest more food available by the pool/beach as by the end I was sick of fries and hot dogs.

The pool & beach areas were amazing!! AND the best part was I didn t have to wake up at 8am to reserve a chair.

Overall, it was a great trip. I am deducting stars though for some poor attitudes from some staff members, and for the view of our room (pretty sure we looked at Staff corridors)

First time here and has been by far the best resort we ve been to. Food was great and the staff was excellent! Great for couples and great for families. Shout out to Miguel, provided excellent service and was very accommodating to every request. He is the main reason we will be back next year!

We were in the first week of August and I can only say that great hotel, clean, very organized, great cuisine, very large rooms, huge and super comfortable bed, also spend 2 times a day to fix it, barely heard outside noise, very personal kind, educated and very happy despite being there working long hours, I also want to thank the animation staff cocomanbo, scoobydooo, mini baby, super man, and big panda for the kindness the joy that you contagiabais are a very important part from Now laurimar, buffet staff also lovely one special called Fraudy! The very nice beach with a bit of seaweed but it is not the hotel's fault is the nature is the constant effort of the hotel to keep it clean, the excursions take them from the hotel even a little more expensive but it is better to buy it with them has several stalls sale within the complex know the Saona Island was wonderful the boat ride and catamaran also see the rays and sharks blankets I would have stayed longer I felt at home I hope you keep that level and thank you very much Now laurimar and see you soon!

Food was not good, alcohol was very disappointing, bottom of the barrel. The rest rooms in the common areas were not clean. I can't say enough I would not recommend going there..

Very nice resort. Nice rooms. Very nice property and pools. Good gym. Good food. Decent drinks.

The Dominican Republic is Beautiful. I was disappointed with my room at the Now Larimar. It needed to be updated. And my daughter was sleeping on a rollaway bed. The food in the restaurants was not that good. We have been to several places and the food has always been good. They could do a better job with the food. The people where very friendly however. With the exception of the guy in charge of handing out towels at the pool. They did have a lot of excursions to choose from. The outback expedition is the best! Beautiful beach.
