Excellente! Special thank you to Rafael and Brassilia for their excellent service. They were both attentive to our requests.The staff troughout the resort were friendly and very helpful. The Italian and French restaurants we're our favorites. The Preferred level was worth the extra dollars.

The hotel, like most of the others in the area, has excellent beaches with spectacular sunsets, ideal for weddings. The festive and Caribbean atmosphere feels very good in the pool in the afternoons in very hot hours you can have a really good time there, although it also has more calm and relaxed spaces.

First thing - in my opinion this hotel is far from...

First thing - in my opinion this hotel is far from 5-star hotel. Food was okay, but had weird taste in buffet. We were not hungry, but it was not the best food in our life. Entertainment was one of the best things there. We were there in June and weather was gorgeous, but ocean had a lot of seaweed which hotel cleaned only once per day. Too much selling on the beaches - every 5 minutes somebody would offer you shopping or tour ( btw don't go to their shopping center it might be dangerous) - so we weren't able to relax on the beach. Out of 6 days of our vacation half of it my boyfriend spend in the room because he had really bad food poisoning- diarrhea, vomiting, headache which might be caused by Salmonella after we visited Italian restaurant. I'm surprised nobody sued them yet. On the reception lady said "sorry" when she heard about his food poisoning. Of you don't have insurance, you will be forced to pay $150 for a doctor visit plus medication ( that's what travel agent informed us). Room
was fine, but not clean enough. Sheets were old and dirty. Bar contained water, cheap beer, soda and juice. Staff there was attentive, but not all the time sometimes we would wait for somebody to assist us forever. Big plus is a pool which was big and clean, no smell of chlorine. You need to pay for wine in restaurants. You better buy souvenirs in airport- prices in resort are much higher. We were not able to use for example outdoor jaccusi because only members of preferred club were allowed to be there. All they want there is your money. I regret that we choose this resort. Expected much better service for the money we paid.

BS place , make sure read all the info bf you invest your money in this hotel ., this is one of the Dominican resort have a strictly stupid rule for tourist people,. I mean vacation is not , make sure you have a all casual clothes on your freaking vacation at this hotel., BS ONE start HOTEL ,. is not a 2 start hotel ... yes good people there but the price is not actually good with the service., any questions about just contact me .,

Now Larimar was not a bad place in general - rooms...

Now Larimar was not a bad place in general - rooms are big, the beach is clean and they have a really good free WiFi there. But there are few concerns I would like to share:

1. Preferred guest program - 0/10
They have very annoying VIP program called "preferred quest" and I was stupid enough to buy it. The annoying part is: every single staff member will be asking you: -Are you preferred quest? You will be asked at the restaurant, at the beach, at the pool and at the buffet few times per day: -Are you preferred quest? And people around me were like: -no, we are not preferred...No, I'm not preferred quest... I personally don't think that this is a good idea to separate quests in 5 stars hotel to preferred and not preferred. Another thing is this program is totally useless from my point of view. You will get %20 off for SPA treatments, which is ok but totally not worth it. You will get an opportunity to have a lunch on a designated food court - but food will be the same. The biggest positive thing I've got from this program - I can reply to staff that I'm a preferred quest. Do not waste your money.

2. Hotel Maintenance 0/10
I would say that whoever is responsible for maintenance should be fired immediately. I've got luxury ocean view room in Preferred quest section. We could't open the door because of door lock glitch (it took them 1 hour to fix), when we finally got inside the room we realized that safe is not working (it took 2 days to fix) and phone didn't work. Of course most of us don't need a land line phone on vacation, but in case you have to call to another room, or to call main lobby there should be one. So I went to lobby and reported that my phone is not working. They smiled, replied "Si senior", took my room # and that is it. Nobody came to fix the phone during my 7 days visit. Thermostat didn't work as well, but temperature was OK, so I didn't complain.
Walls. It looks like last time walls were painted in 1850. Take a look on the picture below. This is a 5 star hotel?
Elevators are another story. There were 2 elevators in my section of the hotel. First one didn't work for 7 days in a row. Second one had a wires coming out the wall and half buttons missing. On a day 3 or 4 they replaced buttons inside the second elevator but looks like they didn't get right buttons in a stock, so now there are 2 buttons with number "4" on it and few other buttons without any symbols. Of course there is a display on a first floor that suppose to show you the status of elevators (like which elevator is where, going up or down etc) but of course that display didn't work. Basically you have to come to 1st floor, press unnamed button and wait. Elevator status display is not working, one of the elevator permanently is out of service and you have no idea if second elevator is coming to you or being used by cleaning staff. And it doesn't looks like someone from maintenance team was really care.

Food 1/10
International Buffet food was absurdly bad. I personally would say it was one of the worst food in ever had in Dominica. It was looks like they are getting a food from the cheapest suppliers. Also there are 4 A la carte restaurants with the same food quality.

Strangers on a beach. I cannot rate is because this is not really belongs to Now Larimar but please be advised that beach is a public property and Hotel located only ~500 meters away from local apartments. There is enormous amount of strangers on the beach offering you drugs & hookers. Do not leave your belongings on a beach, keep it in Hotel area which starts approximately 10 meters from the water.

They have just served us a margarita which tasted like frothy washing up liquid. It was very bubbly and tasted even worse. Even the Maitre d' wouldn't try it and took it away rapidly! Good luck ordering cocktails!!

Pleasant gardens, spacious accommodation but cleanliness can be improved, staff helpful and friendly, catering very correct but the music is too strong for my taste in the whole complex. Lack of animation for young children and the beach is not as beautiful as the photos of brochures, many algae.

Staff if very pleasant and upbeat. Food is mediocre. They refilled crown royal with something slightly smoky possibly Jim Beam, Evan Williams or a cheap scotch. They allow vendors to harass customers with selling things on site. I don t care for all-inclusive resorts but this is not a substitute for a sandals or a couples which I would gladly pay extra for. I work in restaurants for a living and this isn t how it s done. Glad someone else picked up the tab. I ve left 2 or 3 reviews in my life and one was for Taco Bell which was 5 stars because Taco Bell knows what Taco Bell is and accommodates accordingly. This tries to be something upscale and falls below par. If you have kids or traveling with a large group this makes sense. If you want an awesome couples experience there s better for slightly more money.

It is clean, the food is good, but boring, in now garden there is no nightclub, there is only one restaurant, there is only one bar in the reception and a bar in the pool but they close it at 6 pm, the attention depends if you give and how much do you give in tips ... if you want to have fun you have to go to larimar now but you have to take a golf cart that is delayed at times, after a certain hour at night you have to walk, they are 7 to 10 minutes, but if you go with someone who has high heels and after dancing ummmmm, the service depends a lot on your tips.

Pesimo, I would never return, I was with the family for 3 days and it was happening work, the air in the room was damaged was reported and they did not repair it, they did not reposition the bar of the room, they did not put water on us, on Sunday there Towels available in the pool area, the food is horrible, gross! very expensive for how bad it is, the good thing they have is the treatment of the employees, Pablo del Sport Bar and Maria de Coco Cafe 5 stars for them.

We love the entertainment and the pool side bars. The room is very nice. We would definitely stay here again. I m not giving a 5 star review because I feel like some of the things are done very lazy. We have room service and restaurants there are suppose to be open till 11. When we tried to get a snack at 10:30 they were closed or didn t have any of the 11pm stuff available. I think it s very annoying when we pay this much and they need to clean things up that early. If I want a snack at 10:50 that says it s available until 11 I expect to get it.. also you can t get a straw once the bar runs out but some how they are always available the next day. You d think the employees could run to wherever to get straws.. I wouldn t care but they are running out at like 8pm every night it seems like and some drinks you need a straw to drink.

Me and My wife were bought to this club and they ripped us off with the unlimited vacation club. Know one should fall for this scam they completely lie to you. If it sounds to good to be true that's because it is. They lie and then won't help you over the phone to get you money back. Day light robbery

The hotel is nice and the food good but the service and attention is not. Superficially the staff had a good attitude but when we had the slightest problem they did not have a proactive attitude towards solving the problem, everything was: oh .. I'm sorry ... or you can not ... or it does not exist (like when we asked about going San Juan mall and they said we could not go, only to the blue mall) ... the room was cleaned when they wanted, we spent two days without it, calling and claiming and nothing ... the last day they left us A courtesy shower in a shower room they have prepared for that: it was dirty, smelly and messy, really very unpleasant to leave the hotel with that impression. I would not go back.

The a la carte restaurants at night had so much queue that they were discouraged, we ended up only getting to know one. On other days, we went to the restaurants that were buffet.
The service was only good with tip, but I think this is a standard in all inclusive hotels.

Now Larimar has really nice staff who go above and beyond. However that was the first and last visit to the hotel. The food was edible nothing to rave about, but I expected better. They always had shows on at night which were pretty good. They even had a pool foam party. Downside, the pool close at 6pm, which is highly disappointing. I held my wedding at this resort, at the beach. Beautiful pictures, but then you had beach goers getting in the way. The security that was there did nothing to keep the uninvited guests out.

So far so good! Staff is super friendly and the way they welcome you is out of this word. They offer a cool towel because its tremendously hot as you're coming from the airport. They offer you a drink and a bus boy takes you to your room and carries your luggage. They explain everything on the way to your room too. They clean rooms about 3 times a day. They call you to make sure everything is good. The food is delicious. The greater seats you and a waiter comes and takes your drink order. It's self-serve for food. I havent even been to the beach or pool yet, only been here 1.5 days and I love it.

In two words... marvelous experience! The Now Garden and Now Larimar resorts are linked as one - you have full access to both when you're a guest at either one. The staff - without exception - is helpful, friendly, well-trained, professional and plentiful. The amenities are attractive, very clean and very well-maintained. The buffet (which was our primary source for meals) presented its MANY choices beautifully and imaginatively and the many on-site full-service restaurants offered attractive variety and great "ambiance"! Finally, the rates were very reasonable - and I (we) would readily recommend these NOW resorts. (We've been to 3 other Dominican Republic resorts, so we have other experiences to compare this trip to!)

My husband and I just came back. their food was good almost the same menu every day customer service was really nice. Aside from that i will not go back to Now larimar because they allow vendors by the beach and pool side you have no privacy to rest and the staff lie to you and force you into buying a while year package just to make sure you come back there. it was nice but not a place i will be going back ever again they always trying to find a way to take money from their guest every single hour. if you rest and peace of mind please do not go here

The employees, the cleaning and everything very cool. Unfortunately we were a group of 6 people and NONE we liked the food. We had to leave without eating. Both the Restaurants and the buffet. Very regrettable this case.

Mature trees, the staff where attentive(we where upgraded) the pools where nice (on the smalller side, but clean and maintained) the beach/waters where wonderful (seaweedy only one day after a night storm, 2ft high 3ft wide swath of grossness for the entire length of the beaches as far as you could see) one day the buffet was pretty much out of everything. Stay with family, disappointed because the teen club was closed. Disadvantage of having to get up early to reserve a Transat. A choice of restaurants for everyone is good. We were unlucky, there was a lot of wind. It's better to take the VIP card. Otherwise it's clean and the staff can not do enough.

Very unhappy. My wedding was scheduled for April 2020 at Now Larimar and due to covid, we re rescheduling everything to come back in Dec.

We were just informed today that Now Larimar is flip flopping names with the hotel next door - and now we re booked over there. Furthermore, my original resort is now adult only and my wedding party has kids! And on top of it all, they re moving my ceremony and reception. I can t believe this.
