My wife and I just had an amazing dinner. A real gem and a rising star in the New Orleans restaurant scene. We sat at the chef bar/table and really enjoyed watching the chefs cook. The owner/chef was very engaging and has had an interesting culinary journey.

I am difficult! My Italian companion is twice as much, especially on Italian recipes ... We took the Milanese chicken, baked potatoes and a three-color salad to go and I was amazed! It's delicious, even warmed in the oven, I feasted on chicken for the first time in a very long time .....
It was generous too! The value for money is very very good. My colleagues who come from France often ask me where to dine .... Carrolton Market will be in my recommendations until I am proven otherwise!

My husband I went to dinner at Carrollton Market tonight, and we had a great time. The drinks were delicious. I was nervous about what drink to order because I didn't recognize many of the liquors, but I tried the two honey drinks I can't remember what the names. They were both perfect in my opinion because they were strong without a strong liquor taste or smell. Anyway, I had the quail appetizer, which was amazing, and my husband had the gazpacho, which was also amazing for a hot New Orleans night. I had the Chicken and Dumplings, which I had been looking forward to for weeks, and it did not disappoint. It was a big portion, and I took some home to go, so I could save room for dessert. My husband had the Pork belly with sweet potatoes and collard greens. I tried some of it, and it's definitely on my list to order in the future! We shared the Pot du Creme for dessert, and I think it was the best dessert I've had in New Orleans. Milk chocolate creme with fresh whipped cream, dusted with cocoa powder and served with four little beignets. OMG!! Service was excellent, atmosphere was fun, and the restaurant is gorgeous.

How has Carrollton Market not hit my radar before today? We will second the previous reviews that said its one of the best meal experiences we ve had amongst many good ones in the city. The special Brunch cocktails were quite creative and expertly prepared, and all our food was terrific. I had the Debris Biscuits after debating the Corned Beef Hash, and was very happy with my choice. The biscuits being made out of cornbread really made the dish and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly. Delicious. Girlfriend had the Poutine and again, absolutely fantastic. Add in the great service and a stylish space full of super pleasant staff and it has us ready to return as soon as possible.

Amazing place. Great food, wonderful staff and the best part is the bar seating in front of the kitchen, you can watch them make amazing dishes and talk to the chefs if they aren't too busy.

Excellent food in a beautiful space. The staff is attentive and friendly. We went once for dinner and then tried brunch a few days later. Sitting at the counter, watching the open kitchen was fun. Everything we had was great, but I would recommend the biscuits and debris on the brunch menu and the pork cheek fried rice on the dinner menu. We rode the street car from our hotel, which made for a fun evening.

Incredible dinner experience from the signature cocktails to appetizers (especially the foi gras and crab stuffed ravioli) to the service to the main courses everything was simple, well conceived and scrumptious. None of the dishes tried too hard and the service was attentive but not hovering or pushy. A particular favorite entree was the stuffed veal chop which was monstrously sized and perfectly prepared. Desserts were imaginative but unfussy. I'll be coming here the very next time I'm back in New Orleans. Don't miss this place

I started with the Farmer's Market Tomato Gazpacho which was very rich and delicious. The watermelon and crabmeat were very nice subtle touches. My main entree was a braised pork shank that came out looking like something from a cartoon but is the most inventive take on red beans and rice I've ever had. The cornmeal dusting on it provided a delicious sweet counterpoint to the richness of the meat.

We came here after reading all the positive reviews yet unsure if they were going to be accurate. We walked in to a what appeared to be a converted Victorian style house in an area of town we had never been - not too far from Tulane in the gorgeous area known as Uptown or East Carrollton. Thankfully with our reservations we were immediately seated while walking by diners with smiles on their faces. The menu has plenty of options (although could do with a few more vegetarian friendly dishes).

If you want seriously outstanding food, you can't go wrong at Carrollton Market... Especially the Oysters Goodenough, the piquillo peppers and crab appetizer, the scallops or any seafood entree... as well as outstanding cocktails!

Had a wonderful dining experience at Carrollton Market! The menu consisted of local fare and was seasonal. All of the food we had delicious, especially the Oysters Goodenough! The chef is absolutely amazing, and the wait staff was on point! We can't wait to go back again! Do yourself a favor and make a reservation ASAP!

Continuing my COOLinary 2019 experience with a stand out dinner at Carrollton Market. This place wasn't even on my radar but after trying to go another restaurant nearby (that won't be named) we settled on here and I'm glad our original plan didn't pan out.

To be honest there was enough there to take half home and have for another meal but it was so good I finished it all off. Finally for dessert was their version of a floating island - which while light on the floating was heavy on the flavor. The meringue was incredible - like eating air and the honey drizzle added a nice complexity of flavor. Overall I got the impression of familiar dishes done in new and interesting ways with great skill - and honestly I don't know what more you could want from a restaurant.

Service was also great with a very friendly waiter. The wine menu was good - we had an excellent rose with our meal.

I hope I get to return soon.

A+

The food was more than we could have even guessed it would be by its previous reviews! The food was so tasty, perfect portions, and Jason Goodenough quality inspected every dish for perfection before it went out. We sat at the bar in front of the open kitchen and now I don't care to sit anywhere else. The coctails were perfectly mixed and the service was excellent! This was our first visit, but this will now be on our agenda every visit to NOLA.

Wow in credible food and really nice atmosphere! Extremely friendly service too.

We went for brunch and I had the homemade corned beef with my favorite take on Irish Coffee yet. The Pimm-osa (my girlfriend had that) was also really tasty. I highly recommend this place.

Visited for their Wednesday happy hour with a friend...and found possibly one of the best happy hours around. The cocktail list is only $6 and includes a number of fantastic choices, and the normally somewhat pricey menu includes an $8 burger that's more than a meal and one of my favorites in the city! My friend had scallops which were incredible, and we split the somewhat famous "Oysters Goodenough". I can't wait to go back.

Our waiter was very attentive and pleasant, and the place is as romantic and pleasant as you could want for a date or get together. Very excellent.

Okay.

Okay.
Not much of a breakfast selection.

Atmosphere soothing to diners. Wait staff impeccable, not in your face slurpy and yet not too formal. I despise having my water glass filled after each sip, and that did not happen. With all that, the food top notch. Menu not too big or too limited. My fish done perfectly, while my dining companions had pork nicely done as well. The Bar selections excellant, having wonderful digestive selections. Wine selection great.

New Southern at it's best. The cocktails are very innovative (the Darling Nikki pairs quite nicely with the veal). The staff is very friendly and experienced. Reservations are highly recommend as seating is limited.

Wonderful staff and excellent whiskey concoctions! Must try every drink on the menu. Each is unique and equally flavorful. The oyster appetizers are a must- Delicious! Give this place a try, you won't be sorry.

Chef Goodenough and staff created a warm environment for me and my guest. The staff made us feel as if we were the only people dining there. I love the uniqueness of the food. You must try Oysters Goodenough!
Carrollton Market is a great place for a personal dining experience.

Amazing cuisine with attentive staff and delicious cocktails. You will not be disappointed. Our stand out dishes were the oysters, the oil seared salmon, the watermelon gazpacho and the floating island desert. Ask for Casey as your server and he will make sure your selections fit your taste and mood. We will definitely be back, thank you all for making our anniversary special.

The Head Chef is very accommodating. I was able to bring in a cut of A5 beef and asked the chef to prepare it however he liked. He made a 4 course dinner that was absolutely stunning. Cocktails are also great. Highly recommended

Excellent restaurant. Exceeded our expectations. My wife and I loved the atmosphere. Not too loud but still lively. Food was amazing. The fried oyster appetizer was so good- don't pass on that. Very good specialty drink menu. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and gave us meaningful suggestions and descriptions. It's priced like most restaurants in its class but unlike some, it was worth every penny. Can't recommend enough.

I love oysters. I don't get to eat them fresh unlike when I'm in California so it was the first thing on my mind when I went to Carrollton Market. Extremely disappointed with the outcome. They weren't fresh as how they advertised. They were small. Their staff just didn't care about it when I complained instead asked me to order something else. Wow!

Good yes. Some delicious plates yes. Service excellent. I feel there was just a minimal thing bringing it over the top. I know the recipe is there, they just need to nail 1 to 2 things they do better than anyone else. Looking forward to seeing if they accomplish that as I know they are a newish restaurant. Had the foie gras, oysters and duck. I would rate the foie gras as he best dish if the evening

We came here with high expectations, and they were exceeded. Went in for a dinner at the bar and ended up ordering the. entire. menu. We have no regrets. If you love food, sit at the bar, the chefs will tell you something special about everything you order, you will learn a lot. The wait staff and kitchen were very friendly and gave us the best advice about where to go in the city, and it isn't on Bourbon Street. Snapper with brown butter was amazing. It was all amazing. I had dietary restrictions and they were very attentive to that too. Thank you Carrollton Market for an unforgettable meal!

The best place to eat in town. Their fried oyster is fantastic. I can't stop thinking about it. For sure, I'm coming back and ordering it again. Their chefs are super friendly. Especially Amanda. They have an open kitchen concept, and it's super cool to see them cook.

Booked for lunch at 1pm but the kitchen closes at 1:30pm so we called ahead knowing we would arrive late. They accommodated us in every way. Wonderful gracious service. My fav was the fried oysters (best ever) and my friends loved the lamb lasagna so much we ordered another. We had the whole place to ourselves what a treat. Thank you for making our trip so memorable.

Good food and lots of good wines to choose from. I found the place slightly overpriced compared to other similar places in town. Nothing really wrong with the restaurant, but there s better options available close by.

Excellent food and service. I'm still raving about the gnocchi and whatever that chocolate pudding type dessert we had. We'll definetly come back to Carrollton Market on our next NOLA visit.

Carrollton Market lives up to its promise of upscale Southern food. They have a great cocktail and wine list, and you can't go wrong with their Sweetbreads and Oysters Goodenough as appetizers. We had the Scallops, which were good but not great, and the Black Drum, which was excellent. On a busy night, it can be easier to grab a seat at the bar, since it is a really small restaurant, 25 tables at most. The views into the tiny open kitchen are pretty awesome, and the wait staff is incredibly attentive. Perfect location for a fancy date or celebration!

Best restaurant experience in New Orleans for me. Service was top notch and put this place over the top: welcoming but not in your face, genuinely interested in making sure you enjoy your meal and drinks.

Had some dynamite appetizers: foie gras that was simply prepared but delicious to eat. A crispy pork belly with gravy was amazing. Loup with pesto was a tasty entree. The Cali red blend was the best wine I'd had in awhile at a great price. Beats all the French quarter places for me.
