Humana Review

THEY HATE THE ENVIRONMENT! These people are the JUNK MAIL KINGS!!! I receive monthly letters for 5 different people at my house, and only 1 of them lives here. It is all junk mail advertising their crummy insurance that only Fortune 100 shareholders could possibly afford. THEY KILL TREES FOR NOTHING!!!

Why can't my wife get her inhaler refilled? She's being told it needs a prior authorization. This isn't a new health issue, it's a refill! So someone with asthma under your plan has to go borrow an inhaler? You are closed on weekends with no access to help or getting answers. I wouldn't necessarily call this a health "care" company. It's a discount program that pays nothing until you meet your high deductible.

They cancelled my insurance without telling me. The money for said insurance was still coming out of my paychecks. My H.R. Dept. knew nothing about it and I'm the one that's out of luck and paying for something that I can not use for months. No one wants to rectify this blunder. I get told to speak with my human resources officer to which I do and she says no we have to go through Humana. She helped me contact them and they pass the blame back to H.R.. Just give me back my money since you don't want to fix anything and I can't use your "service." You are nothing but thieves and should be out of business!

This company offers very poor insurance and will bill you for services you never received or were already paid for. Do not trust this company and check all bills before you pay them. This company is very corrupt and continues to prosper off hard working citizens paychecks, while offering little or no help to pay for bills or medications.

My husband and purchased insurance to our parents and we met with one of the agents name Amanda Nickel. I could feel the way she was looking at my husband but I ignored her act at that time. A few days later she called my husband to ask him if we are married really!!!! She told him how cute he is.

After they ask to take over filling out my paperwork in order to ensure the State of Florida pay them for my Medicaid they threw in hey will do your food stamps too well they messed up then sent me there well dine meals it took a week to get them I would like to see Bruce broussard eat what they sent me after it was out in the floor to heat with bag of melted dry ice if you like yourself if you love your family go somewhere else right now

I spoke to a man named Andrew McCartin and he was horribly rude from the jump. Didn t help at all with the issue I was having through Humana, his customer service was below satisfactory. Would never recommend him or this company

Nostalgic architecture meets nuvou riche modern. I love visiting this building. Not only is it nice to look at but Humana has upped their functionality with smart elevators in cool Humana colors!

Absolute garbage company. Whatever system they have in place to make any changes is terrible. I ve been trying to get a situation regarding my daughter s primary care provider resolved with them for two months and no one can tell me what the status is or anything. Any time I try to get information, they tell me the only thing they can do is escalate the situation and that I should get more info in 72 hours... obviously this never happens. All of the employees give you inconsistent information. I can t believe I have to pay $1,000 a month for such terrible service. This would not fly with any other industry.

Great commercial building and greater Humana in heart of downtown of Louisville. Building itself is great example of excellent architecture. It s a home town of Humana Inc. Very convenient access to building and connectivity to all others area. Excellent front view of Ohio river. Building is located on 1st main historical street and 6th street. Inside building good canteen and breakout area.

They sell your information to other companies when you are just getting quotes from Internet called them and they said nothing they can do about giving your info to others, well the last I knew it was against the privacy act law, oh I guess that is only if we want our own info that we can't have it but it is okay for a billion dollar company to do what ever they want, but if a low income person they would go to jail

This place looks like an evil corporate building and that's really cool. I want to go into it this summer

Friendly claims service but they will make things up rather than doing their job to investigate coverage issues. I wish I could get paid for all the time I wasted plus the time I wasted talking to the doctor's billing & hospital billing departments. It may be a great place to work but it's NOT a great insurance company. Britney is the only person that did the *work* that was needed.

Pathetic customer service. Nothing but lies and a ripoff. We made the mistake of having a policy years ago where my wife was the primary and now a policy where I am the primary. They cannot get their internal systems to clean up the mess so we are stuck where no one can do anything. They took our money, refuse to provide us with cards or policy info and every person we talk with gives us a different answer as to if we even have coverage. Have spent dozens of hours on the phone with no results.

When you have a chronic illness, your health insurance can be your lifeline. It can also be what drags you down, making life more unbearable than it was before. So count on Humana to throw you an anchor.

We signed up with this company because they seemed to offer better rates and services than the one we were with. Yeah, that's right up until you sign up, then it's a whole different ballgame.

After we were stuck, they started taking all of my medications off of their formulary. People with MS need specific medications, but you can't get them covered by Humana. If you need a three day course of IV steroids, you can't do it at home......well, you can for $3000. They'll cover it, if you are hospitalized, but then you've got three days of hospitalization to deal with. And who wants to spend 3 days in the hospital for something that you can do at home? So, you just skip it and put up with the symptoms.

How about something simple like post menopausal hormone replacement. Uh.....no. Fork over $120/mo. if you want to sleep at night, because Humana isn't going to cover it.

Tests? Glad you asked. Need a bone scan for osteoporosis, that'll be $300. Need an MRI, oops...that's $350. So, if you're going to this company and have health issues, you'd better be independently wealthy if you want to get what you need. I've had to cut out all but two meds (both generic) and have multiple chronic issues that are undiagnosed because I don't have the money for the copays.

Is there a specific doctor that you know is really good? Maybe, maybe not. But if you want an 80 year old primary from a medical school somewhere in Thailand, you're good to go. If you want to change your primary to someone else that's in the system, expect to spend at least an hour on the phone......and I'm still waiting for the updated card they promised me 6 MONTHS ago.

If you want lots of unidentified calls with no messages, count on Humana. I know it's them, because I look up the numbers......right before I block them. If you want to talk to me, leave a freakin' message.

The only reason they get two stars is because I got decent emergency room coverage. But doing one thing decently does not make them anything but next to the bottom of the barrel.

Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service! Ill trained reps who bounce you from one department to the next because they have no clue how to answer a simple question.

Healthcare is a human right, not a commodity.

Don't want to pay on a cancer policy that my wife been paying on for 14 years, been in claims for 3 months, wanted itimized bill from doctors and hospital, then said that they couldn't process the claim unless it was on a UB40 form with the codes, then they said they coundn't procees the claim unless the bill had the medical ID number. All three of the bills we sent them have the same code number on them. There 8-10 day pay out is bull and they have passed the North carolina 30 day limit also and when we called yesterday on 11-14-2012 they said it was in claims and to give it about 14 days to process. All I can say is stay away from Humana, they will rip you off!

Certainly regret switching my Medicare drug plan to Humana. Their mail order plan with Right Source is terrible. Sent a new prescription request and never heard back even though the website said the order was completed. Eight days later I called them and was informed that they couldn't fill the prescription for the drug since physicians can't order drugs for themselves, which is totally ridiculous as I've been doing this for years. Furthermore they never notified about this, until I called them, although they claimed they sent me a letter which I received. Avoid Humana at all costs.

they wont change my plan back i canceled humana a month ago

Was liking the insurance at first but there are employees as well as supervisors giving out false information regarding claims and co pays which has caused a bad relationship b/w me and my doctor so now I have to find a NEW ONE all because of FALSE INFORMATION. Please provide additional training everyone who answers the phone regarding insurance plan information smdh

We have not had a policy with Humana in well over 2 years. I know the exact date because we dropped them after they refused to cover the birth of our child. They would not even list him on our policy right after he was born. We knew then we were done with them. Today my daughter needs to see her Dr (yes Family Medical in Hart Co is open 7 days a week) But I'm being told that Humana is showing up as her primary insurance through my husband. Over 2 years we haven't paid them a dime because they screwed is into thousands of dollars in medical bills that should have been covered. And now they are screwing me again. They could at least afford to send me a couple packs of lube.

Great health insurance at an affordable cost. Who doesn't like Humana? The corporate tower is beautiful, although it takes a lot of behind the scenes work to make it function properly.

Humana cares absolutely nothing about there employees! They fire people at a drop of a hat, The training is AWFUL, pay is awful, you will hate your life working for this company.

This is one of the best companies in Louisville to work for in my opinion.

I wish that when the employees come to eat at the restaurants they tip. Majority of them tip really well and some tip nothing at all. We make 2.13 an hour we don't have great humana jobs.

Humana is the one trick horse company town indiscriminately screwing anyone.
