There are MANY choices at this inaugural Starbucks Reserve Roastery so check out all of the counters before you make your choices. There are coffee tasting selections that are different at all the counters and then there are also the food selections too. Don't expect to get your regular go to favorites from your local Starbucks store; this store is special and it has special offerings. Watch the roasters at their craft and enjoy the library at the back of the store if it isn't in use. Great place to hang out and a quintessential Seattle stop.

This was a fun experience for the coffee enthusiast. It s significantly higher in price - - no doubt for the service and atmosphere. Fun little tips and history behind the design located on the menus. If it wasn t for the guy at the front we d have no clue there are different things offered at different drink bars.
I d love to see some of this transition to their normal menu.
Notable mention to the staff member who got my name spelled and pronounced right ! He deserves a raise and a promotion !!

We just happened upon this place while walking from downtown up to Capitol Hill. I have heard about the expanded Starbucks offerings but had never been in one. Very large, very nice, with lots of seating, on site bean roasting, and numerous coffees available from around the globe. Limited food menu, and alcoholics drinks are also available as well as some Starbucks n local merchandise.

If you are a Starbucks fan, GO HERE. It was a super cool place to see how the beans are roasted and then try them on the spot. The drinks are little pricey, but staff is AMAZING. We were on the fence about going, but I'm so glad we did.

This is NOT your typical run-of-the-mill Starbucks. It is set up like a microbrewery. It has a huge coffee bar that is an island in the center of one of the old refurbished brick buildings on the west side of Capital Hill, right between the center of all the hill's bustle and the Washington State Convention Center and downtown hotel district on Pike St - a great walkable location. Take a break there on the way up to the rest of Capital Hill's restaurants and bars and check out the roasting and packaging processes set up in full view like a microbrewery. Open later than any Starbucks in Seattle (11pm) except the University Village location. Don't go there expecting to get your favorite sugar fix that could hardly be called coffee. Try the one of the rotating, single-origin, limited edition Starbucks Reserve-brand specialty coffees from around the world (and try not to drown out the rich tones and scents with too much sweetener). Chic bathrooms, too!

The guide introduced me as the world's # 1 Starbucks Reserve store. However, I really sell a lot of goods that I can not see in Korea ... I sell clothes in Starbucks ... It is amazing. Just a symbolic feeling, there are so many Asian people.

It's a really fun and unique experience. Sights and smells you should experience for yourself. You can see how they roast coffee. They also carry some special coffee selections and merchandise exclusive to this store.

A shop where you can see the roasting process like an amusement. You can drink coffee that you can only drink at this shop.
There are various limited goods that can only be purchased at this shop that is different from the first shop.

Lovely!!
Love the ambience, the crowd, the service and the chance to the taste unique new flavours on offer from the iconic company. If you are there, check out the products/merchandise on too.

The mecca of Starbucks coffee houses. Next level, high end, use whatever descriptor you'd like, but this is a must visit whether or not your a big Starbucks fan. You'll have coffee options you've ever seen before!

I have to say that for an European it is quite a shocked to go to a Reserve roasters of Starbucks. We don't usually like Starbucks. However, the ambiance is wonderful, the service is great, there are bar and table areas. I took the 3-espresso blend. I thought I would be trying 3 different espressos. Instead I got one with the blend, which was really good!!

This coffee shop is very cozy, beautiful, and comfy. This is really my favorite place of all time. One of the unique and hidden gems in the area. I enjoyed their latte which was very smooth and foamy. Their wi-fi connection also was very fast and strong which I appreciated so much. Great place with great service. Highly recommended!

Nice place, friendly staff. But the coffee tastes like a typical Starbucks brew - burnt. It's a shame; the single origin beans sounded really good. Try any of the smaller coffee shops around Capitol Hill instead. It'll be worth it!

Spectacular place to visit , I was fascinated on my trip to Seattle to see this spectacular coffee shop .
The charm and the coolness of this place is incredible.
If you coffee lover and you want to see coffee mix art this is a place for you.
The atmosphere and employees were very nice and friendly.
I absolutely love this store and hope to get to Seattle to stop by again

Went here for breakfast and coffee tasting. Spent a couple hours here. Great atmosphere, espresso tasting experience was awesome. Best oatmeal with apricot jam and fresh fruit. Stayed around and talked with the roaster on what he was doing and recieved a small history on beans. We liked it so much we came back later that night after dinner to get a coffee cocktail and a great pistachio chocolate mousse cake. When we come back to seattle we will be back. Service, atmosphere, food, and coffee were all great!

Occasion for visiting:
Was with wife in Seattle, this place was recommended as the original Starbucks store had a 40 min line, just to enter... and this store was a 10 minute store.

Pros: amazing. Lots of activity. Gorgeous design. Unique food items, more like a restaurant than a coffee store. Has lots of Italian coffee options. Lots of fresh food options. Unique merchandise. Great and friendly staff. Best Starbucks ever!

Cons: busy. Noisy. Not the typical quiet Starbucks I m used to.

Bottomline: it s like visiting the coffee store equivalent of Charlie and the chocolate factory. It s better than the original store for sure and it s menu options are unique within USA. Just surprised that there aren t more stores like this... just wow!

The most serious I get about Starbucks is usually their refreshers and juice-like drinks, so I am not a serious Starbucks fan...but if more Starbucks were like the reserve roastery, then I would definitely become one of their regulars (even at the expense of my wallet).

The design of the building and interior is jaw-dropping. Everywhere is some sort of coffee gadget or beautiful espresso machine with warm copper finish, enticing all your senses not just taste. It s like a Willy Wonky factory for coffee.

There are three different coffee bars. The main espresso bar on the first floor with all your fun coffee creations and their reserve coffees. The bar with the stronger stuff if your looking for some EtOH to go with your caffeine (gin-barrel aged coffee???). Then there s the espresso bar downstairs that serves some of their fancier small batch coffees for the connoisseurs out there.

Then there s the bakery. That chocolate mousse cake. It s everything. They also serve fascinating pizzas though that we didn t get a chance to try.

Can t wait to go back!!

I normally don't drink Starbucks coffee since I find it too bitter, however, the coffee at this location is smooth and delicious. They use very high quality beans and roast them to perfection, and you can see them roasting the beans in house as they have all of the equipment right there. There are multiple bars in the store to try out different coffee items, and all of their pastries are made fresh in their pastry kitchen. They also sell a bunch of nice coffee mugs and interesting looking coffee making contraptions that you can buy if you want to wow all of your guests. Although this place is frequented by many tourists (for good reason), it also provides one of the best cups of coffee you can find on Pike street, and that's saying a lot, so as a local I go there quite a bit myself. Would recommend visiting on a week night, as it isn't as crowded with the tourist crowds then.

This is a great place to visit for coffee lovers. You get to see various methods of brewing coffee, and actually try out different coffee flavors too. Great ambience, slightly pricy place, but its fun to see how coffee is roasted and brewed.

The First Starbucks Ever.

The First Starbucks Ever.

Please note that they only serve beverages at this location. None of the Starbucks snacks and treats are available here.

They also have a collection of special coffee mugs and gifts only available here.

A really cool place to visit whether or not you re a Starbucks or coffee fan. The atmosphere is delightful and staff who work there come from all parts of the world. They offer a variety of food including Italian cuisine. You can also buy specialty souvenirs that have Reserve badging. Of course this place is pricier than usual Starbucks. But definitely worth it if you have the means.

This place is worth a stop if you like coffee. Neat to see them roasting but better yet, taste interesting different coffees. They make coffee several different ways, including with the Clover Machine. That thing fascinated me. It s basically an automated French Press, but it works sort of like an inside out version of a manual press and vacuums the coffee out of the grounds. The results are good.

You can also try a flight of coffee. Similar to how you get a flight of beer at a brew pub. You can sample four or five different coffees. It s fun and helps you appreciate the differences in different beans and roasts.

If coffee gets you excited, then likely this place will as well. The various steps of coffee roasting and brewing happen before your eyes and under your nose. When I went it was crowded and a bit touristy - it certainly is a "thing to do" when you visit Seattle.

Visited there in Oct 16. If you are a Starbucks fan at all, this is a must stop. Truly the "Mecca" of the Starbucks brand. Enjoy a morning coffee product and pastry. So good we went several times that week. Worth your time.

A really interesting experience that everyone needs to see if they visit Seattle. Prices are a little high but you'll find things unique to this location. Although this is a Starbucks, it definitely feels a lot more high end than you would ever imagine.

If coffee or coffee paraphernalia is your thing then this is your place. Real busy on the weekends so if you are not hip to being around a lot of people then stay away Saturday and Sunday. Baristas walk around to assist with drink orders and refills. Kinda cozy. Pricey though.

Really cool place. A must for Starbucks fans. The selections here actually taste like coffee. If you like Starbucks for the frappuccinos then this place might not be for you. Makes sure to check out the original at Pike Place Market as well.

This is THE starbucks place to visit. It is an amazibg place to just chill and enjoy a nice cup of coffee. It is setup in a brewery style and very spacious and comfortable to catch up and rest after exploring the neighbourhood. It was very hard for us to leave.

This is not the first branch of Starbucks. But not too far away, spacious coffee in addition to a variety of bread bakery. Can buy coffee beans back home. The back is a large coffee factory. The production process is interesting. Have customers come out all day. Who came to Seattle? Please check in once.

If you go to Seattle, stop there. Nice ambiance, service is extraordinary and the coffee is obviously the Star. What is cool also about this place is the Roastery. You see the coffee beans being roasted and delivered to your cup.
