Poor service

Holiday in gran canaria return transfer 18/01/24 was a no show, called the emergency number and advised to get a taxi and they would reimburse..every excuse under the sun when pursued refund. That stated I should be 2 blocks away from my hotel and a different place than drop off. Avoid

🚫 AVOID!! Shocking Experience with Hoppa - Unacceptable Driver Behaviour and non existent customer service 🚫

Dear Fellow Travelers,

I feel compelled to share my recent disturbing encounter with Hoppa, and I urge you to exercise caution when considering their services. My experience was marred by completely unacceptable driver behavior.

My family and friends and I booked a taxi service through Hoppa from Heraklion Airport to our accommodation. What should have been a straightforward journey turned into a nightmare.

The assigned driver not only failed to meet basic standards of professionalism but displayed behavior that should never be tolerated:

- Aggressive Conduct: From the moment we entered the vehicle, the driver was intimidating and aggressive. His demeanor created an atmosphere of fear and discomfort.

- Mobile Phone Use While Driving: Shockingly, the driver recklessly used his mobile phone while driving, putting our safety at risk. This behavior is both dangerous and illegal.

- Unexplained Stops in Unknown Locations: At one point during the journey, the driver pulled over in a deserted area, late at night, with no valid explanation. His actions left us feeling threatened and vulnerable.

- Demanding more money - demanded more money and in the end had to pay more.

I tried to seek resolution through Hoppa, but their response favored the driver without a proper investigation, they bias is completely with the drivers and do not believe a word anyone else says, they are passive aggressive and just throw their points back of what the driver has said. Their complete disregard for my concerns is simply unacceptable.

I'm writing this to caution travelers against using Hoppa. Their service, in my experience, failed to prioritise safety and customer satisfaction. I would never consider using their services again, and I strongly advise others to do the same.

Avoid like the plague!

The outward service - from the destination airport...

The outward service - from the destination airport to the hotel - was faultless. But they only text you 24 hours before the collection for the return journey.

In itself that's not a problem, 24 hours is plenty of notice. But for a 1:35 flight the pick up time was 9:40! This was ridiculously early for a flight back to the UK, where I'd normally expected to have arrived at around 12:15.

It was a 40 minute journey to the airport, which meant we arrived at 10:20 and then had to hang around for over 3 hours till the flight left. This is absurd for a `local' flight.

I rang them to try and get a later pick up but they said they needed 48 hours' notice for any alteration - despite having only told me the pick up time less than 24 hours beforehand!

I wouldn't use them again where you allow them to set the return pick up time.

Would highly recommend Hoppa. Professional from the initial booking to helping us when Monarch went under and we had to change destinations at the last minute . The drivers were brilliant and patient . Pick up was on time and we received an email and text the day before to let us know the car was coming. Well done Hoppa . Keep up the good work

First time using Hoppa.

First time using Hoppa.
I was disappointed at Faro Airport to have to wait 75 minutes for the transfer when I paid extra for a speedy shuttle which said maximum of 45 minutes.
The driver also didn't have an itinerary of where he was going so just asked us, which fortunately we knew where we were going.
Return transfer was a lot better service.
Not sure I will use speedy shuttle again. Have had better experience with the normal transfer and Holiday Taxis.

I booked with hoppa, online when I went to Benidorm and found it easy to use. The instructions were clear and the staff and drivers were friendly. I would use this company again for transfers as I had a good first experience.

We booked a transfer from Chancen Airport to Puerto Morelos. Our flight was an hour early so the taxi was not there yet. An alleged employee of Amigo Tours (the local operating company) called a central office. On the phone we were told to take a regular taxi and take the receipt. We would then get the money back ... Unfortunately, neither the guy nor the taxi was from Amigo Tours. We paid far too much (10 times!) And did not get a cent back! Hoppa could / did not want to help us any further.

Bad customer service and complete waist of time du...

Bad customer service and complete waist of time during booking process.
Wont even risk taking a chance using them .
I had to cancel my booking because hotel address( which they automatically advice on their page) was wrong. No you cant amend it , you have to cancel it!
So after cancelling i had to book again and prices gone up .
I contacted them to match to previous price and they said '' Sorry our prices are live''.

Horrible experience. First they tell me to reserve with flight time instead of pick up time. They left us stranded at airport knowing we have to go thru declarations and customs. They have no phone number to call Hoppa instead they want you to call the drivers which are extremely rude and could care less you already paid yet they are not gonna pick you up

Then they overcharge your credit card and you cannot cancel your return trip

Do not use. When you arrive at airport it s much easier to Uber

DO NOT USE - Unreliable.

Once we had boarded our return flight we were informed that there would be a delay of roughly 60-90 minutes.

I then tried to call the number provided on the email to inform the company that there would be a delay (our flight numbers for both journeys were supplied to hoppa when the booking was made).
I had to google Hoppas contact number as it was not provided in any correspondence, to then be on hold in excess of ten minutes, all whilst my battery was dying with no way of charging. I only ended the phone call as my battery and phone had died.

We arrived back at stanstead to have no driver present. A friend and myself were both on hold for in excess of 20 minutes each before being told by the taxi provider that we did not supply the flight number for the return trip, I had. (After speaking to our intended driver, it turns out that Hoppa had not passed on our flight number to our intended driver which caused him to wait for around an hour, claim our fare and then take another job, leaving us stranded)

The provider told us to contact hoppa - another 20 minutes on hold. Hoppa told us that in their terms and conditions, any delay over two hours will then count as a new booking - this from an airport transfer service is disgraceful. The worst thing is, we tried to contact them before the two hour mark, but due to the hold time we were way over by the time the phone was answered!



I will never use this company again and I urge anyone else not to, save yourself the time, money and hassle!

Would thoroughly recommend. I travelled on my own and the desk was easy to find and no paperwork was needed. Very friendly drivers and trip was quick. I also recommend that you pay that little bit extra for the max 4 stops as last year I didnt and found it a little frustrating going round and round dropping everyone off. Pick up was spot on time and again a lovely driver. All a very easy experience and I will be using them from now on.

Not a great experience. Booked a private transfer in Malta and partner company was Williams Garage. On arrival there was no sign of our driver, after several calls and promises of your driver is minutes away he eventually arrived some 30 minutes later. We had booked a mini-bus as travelling with two small children and in addition to 4 x cases and hand luggage we had car seats and a buggy. The driver came in his own car which was a small hatchback. When we challenged this, he was quite aggressive saying he did not know about a mini-bus and that we could wait for different transport but it could be a further two hours. We ended up with cases and all our hand luggage in footwells and on our laps. On return, we were surprised when the hotel concierge contacted us some 30 minutes ahead of our pick up time to say our driver had arrived. We were relieved to see a mini-bus, but it became clear why he was early when the driver then did not head to the airport but instead drive to another hotel. We then sat in a hot vehicle for 10 minutes whilst waiting for another 5 passengers. I told the driver we had booked a private transfer, he just shrugged. The other passengers had booked a private transfer also and were quite put out to find us in the mini-bus. The one saving grace is that Hoppa responded quickly and refunded the cost of our outbound journey, I am waiting for a response on the return. This fast response to our first complaint is the sole reason for the second star. The quality of the Hoppa service will always depend on the reliability of their local partners. I was amazed on return to read the extensive online feedback regarding Williams Garage and the many passengers who have faced similar issues to us, it appears to be the way they do business. My advice is to research the local partner you are allocated before you go and follow up with Hoppa if you see issues. I would also advocate avoiding Williams Garage like the plague.

The Hoppa airport transfer services are overpriced...

The Hoppa airport transfer services are overpriced - they are much more expensive than the set rates for transfers between airports and city centres.
Their partner "taxi companies" that fulfil the bookings are rude and incompetent (especially in Madrid), with the client often stuck at the airport for more than an hour waiting on their transfer.

We have used this company on a few occasions over the last few years . And we have always found them very reasonable for price and save us a lot of hassle as we get straight to our destination without having to stop at other Hotels . Would definetly recommend them . Would use anything else now .

The transfer I booked was supposed to have maximum 4 stops and take 1 hour 20 mins.

The coach stopped at least 10 times and took 2.5 hrs. The coach driver dropped us off on the wrong end of town (not the main square as per the booking).

Excellent service with polite friendly drivers in clean and comfortable vehicles. The website is easy to navigate and the service provided runs like clockwork. We have used Hoppa on numerous occasions, without fault, and plan to continue.

Absolutely appalling service on the last occasion....

Absolutely appalling service on the last occasion. I have used hoppa for years and generally find them to be cheap and reliable. However, on our arrival to Zante last month we received no prior communication and no transport was waiting for us. I had to phone up and then wait for a call back, only to be told nobody was coming and to get a taxi. As if this wasn't bad enough, over three weeks later hoppa still have not refunded me and are simply ignoring my emails!!!

I tried 6 attempts using debit, credit and PayPal - 5 payments we then taken but 3 not automatically refunded for the 'failed' booking.

Hoppa have processed a refund now but I no longer trust this company as far as I can throw them.

They also told me they couldn't book their end over weekends and then I find all these payments which have been taken despite no bookings.

And price changes for the same journey and vehicle between 22 and 55 pounds withib minutes.

Doesn't sound legit with added disgusting behavior!

Arrived for our transfer at 6.15 as booked, was told it was due to leave at 7 (email received at booming said max wait 45mins). At 7 was then told we're still waiting for other passengers, and that the shuttle wasn't due to leave until 7.45 anyway.

As this was an unacceptable wait time we then got a taxi and was told by the rep at Barcelona to contact hoppa for a refund.

Emailed my complaint explaining the above, the rep has outright lied about what times we waited and hoppa have refused a refund, so as a result I've paid for a transfer which I have not used.

Would not recommend this company at all

Had to call hoppa via a2b transfers to see why the transfer was late, to hear that the driver could not find us, as he was at a different hotel, not the hotel we were told to wait at by the driver that dropped us off when we arrived.
So whilst on the phone to the transfer service, we had to run Down the road with our cases and chase the bus.
Not impressed, and 2nd time with hoppa, and both times a disaster

Always have received excellent service from hoppa, punctual, reliable, efficient and the driver's are always very curtious.
Their web site is so simple to use and for me always come up with the best prices.

This was our first visit to Sorrento, which is a 1...

This was our first visit to Sorrento, which is a 1 hr 15 mins drive by car from Naples airport. We didn't have much of a clue as to how easy /difficult it was to get from the airport at Naples to our hotel at Sorrento under our own steam so after some research, we decided to use Hoppa's transfer service.

As it turns out, we are glad to have done so. It was very `user friendly' from start to finish. The pick up at Naples airport was perfect, the pick up at the end of the holiday from hotel back to airport was also flawless. All told, an excellent service that ensured our holiday got off to a really good start.
We were met at the airport and introduced to our driver who was very helpful, friendly, and most importantly, `seasoned' to Naples traffic....which is `different' to most places we've been to. From what I saw, I personally wouldn't dream of driving there.

The return pick up was also flawless, ensuring we got back to the airport in good time.

Even though we now know `the ropes' with regards to the available public transport options, I would still choose the `Hoppa' as being the best option in terms of maximising your time, taking the strain out of how to get to your hotel (comfortably, and hassle free) and over all cost efficiency.

Anyone heading to Sorrento from Naples Airport should seriously consider using Hoppa's services.

I haven't actually been to this place .I'm assuming it's Hoppa H.Q.?Is it where my booking is handled.?Ok,no problems ever with Hoppa, always choose budget booking, being a pensioner.No probs at airport,I hang around till coach is full.On return ,I confirm the previous day and I know I will be collected at my hotel.Happy days,worry free, great service.E.

I booked a ride to the airport for 51,48 Euro. Hoppa replied with an email right away asking me to cancel that booking and book again with additional information. I filled the instruction and had to pay again 51,48 euro. The day came but no driver appeared to pick me up. I had to call a Taxi. The taxi charged 39 Euro, a lot less the Hoppa. I contacted Hoppa for a refund. They refused to refund the first booking because I canceled it. Even so Hoppa instructed me in their email to cancel. For the second booking they implied that I m lying and claimed the the driver provided the service. I paid 103 euro and got no service. Bad experience!

DO NOT use this company if it were the last transf...

DO NOT use this company if it were the last transfer company on earth. Absolutely disgraceful and disgusting treatment of customers. Not only was the driver extremely rude once he arrived, the car was absolutely putrid. Secondly, the driver did not follow both verbal and visual sat navigation directions, adding an extra 15 minutes to our journey, as we circled the backlanes of Blackwall Tunnel.

The WORST part was the driver FALLING ASLEEP for microseconds at a time... it was honestly terrifying and at 3am on a highway from London to Gatwick, we had no other option than to open the windows, turn the music up and ask the driver questions (he couldn't speak English) to ensure that he was as stimulated as possible. My brother was sitting in the front seat ready to take the wheel at any time.

I complained to Hoppa and was told it was "my word against the drivers" and they didn't believe me as I didn't provide evidence. Evidence would involve taking a flash photo on a dark, deserted highway to Gatwick, which would potentially put us in another dangerous situation, given how fatigued the driver was. Even though I have 2 other eye witnesses, I've still been accused of lying. I'm starting a formal complaint against Hoppa, taking them to ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution remediation), complaining to TFL about the driver and involving my bank in claiming the money bank. This is all guided by Citizens Advice so consult them if you suffer any issues.

As per the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services are to be provided with due skill and care... NEITHER of these were provided so Hoppa is contravening the law... DISGRACEFUL treatment of your paying customers.

Used hoppa many times now and have always been impressed and happy with the service. We have had private cars and shuttle coaches meet us at airports and every time the drivers have been polite and friendly. We wouldn't use anybody other than hoppa.

Michael was also our driver on our return to the airport . He made our trip very informative giving us information on the monastery, churches and other local attractions en route. Just arrived back from my holuday i will never use this company again when we arrived there was no driver to greet us we had to go looking for him coming back no taxi turned up at all it was booked for 05.05 this morning had 2 tired kids we had to get the hotel to ring a taxi good job we had a bank card to get euros out first and last time i will use these

Transfer pre-booked. Card charged. Booking confirmed. Driver was a no show. Company wouldn t refund until investigation completed. If you want to get to your destination without delay or hassle find another company. They might look sleek and cheap, but they have no control over local partners.

I was advised that my booking was cancelled 2 months ago & given an on-line credit, which I neither wanted nor asked for!! Despite contacting an agent, Theo Nkese many, many times requesting a refund & submitting a complaint on-line over 2 weeks ago & receiving an automated response, advising that they would respond within 3 days, still nobody has bothered replying to my messages or issuing a refund. When you try & call them & select the optiom for refund the automated voice tells you to refer back to their website & contact them this way?? I'm more than happy to contact via emails & websites. However, it would seem that no matter what method of contact you use, you are not going to be
responded to. I have been in contact for 2 months now & I'm no nearer to resolving my issue. **I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN AS THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS APPALLING & NONE EXISTENT!! I WOULD GIVE ZERO RATING IF I COULD!! AWFUL COMPANY!!**

Arrived at Florence airport to no driver. Gave it half an hour and still nothing. Called the local provider to get no answer. Called the UK office - was told I would be called back within 5 minutes. Tried calling back after 10 and was on hold to then be cut off.
Tried local provider again - told me they had informed Hoppa that transfer could not be provided due to issues with driver's vehicle.
Wasn't offered a refund - had to demand it. Which is shameful.
Unreliable service & unhelpful staff.

Excellent service, great value for money and easy communication. We completely walked past our driver (in spite of him having a sign with our name on it) when we got to Arrivals, rang the company after a few minutes and he found us right away. Quick transfer to our Disney hotel. Car was very clean. Driver was very friendly.

If i could put zero i would. This is by far the worst transfer experience we have ever had by a mile. It may as well be a scam. Our transfer did not turn up on arrival or for the return to the airport. You cannot speak to hoppa, the so called local ride provider does not answer either. Its a diabolical shambolic rip off. Do not use this service. We had to get expensive taxis both ways in the end. PLEASE AVOID

Disgusting company. Liars and cheats out to steal from its customers. Slow transfers, ignore efforts to resolve complaints. Try fobbing you off with 'hold on whilst we investigate over the next two weeks'. It doesnt take two weeks to confirm you didn't deliver what we paid for.

Just returned from holidays. I had booked and Paid in advance for Hoppa to collect my family and I when we arrived in Miami Saturday the 12th of March. Terrible terrible service. Would not recommend at all. We were met by a girl called Beatrice in the airport and brought outside the airport to be told actually somebody cancelled your reservation. You need to just go and get a taxi!!! My family was exhausted, after a long haul flight. Nobody would help us. We have complained to Hoppa and still nothing except to be told they are investigating it??? This was over a week ago. Shocking shocking service. I strongly recommend you avoid this terrible company as you do not 'Arrive Happy'. Awful service.

So very easy to book. Instructions on confirmation...

So very easy to book. Instructions on confirmation were clear and correct. Directions were spot on to find booking desk and coach was waiting for us. Driver greeted us and was polite and professional. Couldn't fault any aspect of both journeys. The return picked us up at the stated time. Very impressed with the way this company delivered. Brilliant value and took away all the worries of a transfer. Would definitely recommend.

Terrible service, bad communication, website would...

Terrible service, bad communication, website wouldn t allow me to put in the correct address of my accommodation and I was charged for the privilege of a incorrect address which their system defaulted to. Their website wouldn t amend this on line and no response from customer service. Several years ago I used them and had a bad experience and I the same again a few years later. I had been warned to avoid them by friends and family, so I really don t understand who gives them glowing reviews.

after being greeted at the airport i had a short wait before my personal transport arrived and i was driven to my hotel, the day before my return i received a confifmation message and on the day my transport turned up on time and took me to the airport, all very easy, efficent, highly recommend Hoppa.

Have used Hoppa many times over the years, most recently for a trip to Paris where on arrival and on departure, we were given a very welcoming and enjoyable experience and journey. Easy to book and reasonably priced - especially if you can get cashback/use one of their voucher codes.

Thoroughly recommend and will use again!

My friend booked Hoppa to pick myself, my elderly mother and 4 year old from Barcelona airport on Monday 23rd July. Hoppa was not there when we arrived. The airport staff tried ringing Hoppa but there was no answer. My mother uses a walking stick so after much wasted time we got a taxi. I tried contacting Hoppa later by phone but was unsuccessful. I managed to get confirmation from an automated message that my return pick up (25th) was still booked. No idea what happened on the Monday, even to this day. My friend even tried to contact them back in the UK to find out what happened. On Wednesday there was a taxi strike. Considering the disaster on Monday the hotel receptionist tried contacting Hoppa's Spanish resort by phone to confirm they were coming that evening. Again no reply. It took me over 3 hours to sort out alternative transport because of the taxi strike. We should have been affected by the strike because of the Hoppa booking. The reality was they let us down on Monday. I feared the same would happen again on the Wednesday. We could afford to miss out flights. What a waste of money. The communication was poor. It was a stressful experience.
