Not a great experience. Booked a private transfer in Malta and partner company was Williams Garage. On arrival there was no sign of our driver, after several calls and promises of your driver is minutes away he eventually arrived some 30 minutes later. We had booked a mini-bus as travelling with two small children and in addition to 4 x cases and hand luggage we had car seats and a buggy. The driver came in his own car which was a small hatchback. When we challenged this, he was quite aggressive saying he did not know about a mini-bus and that we could wait for different transport but it could be a further two hours. We ended up with cases and all our hand luggage in footwells and on our laps. On return, we were surprised when the hotel concierge contacted us some 30 minutes ahead of our pick up time to say our driver had arrived. We were relieved to see a mini-bus, but it became clear why he was early when the driver then did not head to the airport but instead drive to another hotel. We then sat in a hot vehicle for 10 minutes whilst waiting for another 5 passengers. I told the driver we had booked a private transfer, he just shrugged. The other passengers had booked a private transfer also and were quite put out to find us in the mini-bus. The one saving grace is that Hoppa responded quickly and refunded the cost of our outbound journey, I am waiting for a response on the return. This fast response to our first complaint is the sole reason for the second star. The quality of the Hoppa service will always depend on the reliability of their local partners. I was amazed on return to read the extensive online feedback regarding Williams Garage and the many passengers who have faced similar issues to us, it appears to be the way they do business. My advice is to research the local partner you are allocated before you go and follow up with Hoppa if you see issues. I would also advocate avoiding Williams Garage like the plague.
