I happily found ServiceMaster by Simons after TWO previous unsuccessful tries with other restoration services. After wasting weeks getting quotes with the other two services, only to have them say they did not have available crews to do the clean up, ServiceMaster by Simons was brought to my attention by a loyal listener to WFMT.

The team at ServiceMaster by Simons was a pleasure to work with.

They were extremely prompt in getting the quote. They were high professional, personable and thorough. More than once they also went above and beyond.

I've already recommended them to a friend.

I would recommend them without hesitation and will gladly use their services again.

They were flexible in accommodating my schedule. Patiently and politely answered my questions about timing, pricing, process and more. Treated my place with care and taking extra measures not to leave any mess.

I have extensive water damage in my home caused by a plumber hitting the water line. As a result, I was advised - in need of an independent restoration professional to comprehensively assess my damages to be presented to the companies responsible. I searched online and luckily found the Restoration Company by Simons. Their reviews were very impressive so it was a no-brainer for me to request their services. Sam, the managing director came out with his experience and appropriate tools to thoroughly assess my damage that week. He too was very impressive his professionalism, his knowledge, his extensive experience and (kindly) his sensitivity to the effect of the water damages emotionally on me. Following his assessment he took a good amount of time to walk me through his findings, to share some of his experiences relative to my situation to allay some of my concerns, he shared his commitment to his clients through his demeanor, how he listened, how he spoke and explained his approaches, how he calmed me down all of this a gift to his clients. (Something many of us need when dealing with like situations.)
He essentially shared his approach in dealing with challenges through how he kept the lines of communication with client and insurance companies, etc. alive and active and as a result expertly and equitably got the work done properly and thoroughly. His priorities always include what is best for his client - thoroughly resolving the issues and making sure no issues follow/recur later. (My concern was mold and he spoke knowledgeably, assuredly and strongly concerning this.)
I had already hired a contractor (I worked well with before) assigned to do the water damage restoration work. But now in hindsight I would have chosen - requested the services of Restoration by Simons to take care of the damages and all would have probably been resolved by now. Sam gave me what I needed (his assessment and advice) to proceed as soon as possible a position I had not been ready to do because of my many concerns. What Sam and Restoration by Simon gave me during his assessment was invaluable.

I don t often write reviews, but This company deserved one. Sue Simon took my phone calls for four days. Every day, I had a new question about the corona virus cleaning Services. She didn t pressure me into booking service. Instead, She urged me to continue thinking about the services and encouraged me to call back with any more questions. I was finally ready and hired ServiceMaster to disinfect my father s home. She personally came out with the crew and greeted me from a distance. They really went above and beyond in these trying times. Thank you to Sue and ServiceMaster Restoration By Simons.

Sam (the owner) was fantastic. I called ServiceMaster regarding water damage to my hardwood. I called in the afternoon and Sam came out the next morning. He ran through all of my options with me, including ones where I wouldn't necessarily need his services, and offered me cost saving options as well. His prices are also extremely competitive. I am weighing my options but if I do go through with drying the wood, I won't hesitate to call Sam and ServiceMaster!

I can't recommend this ServiceMaster franchise highly enough! I awoke one morning to find water pouring in through my kitchen ceiling and immediately called my insurance company, who gave me the contact info for another group to call (it was around 6am on Sunday by the way). Although I was able to get ahold of this other company, they refused to come out until the leaking had stopped, which really did me no good. In a panic, I turned to google and called and left a message for this ServiceMaster franchise based on the two positive yelp reviews I saw. Sam, the owner, called me back within about a minute and told me not to worry and that he'd be at my place with his team within two hours.... And he was. Wow!

This sort of destructive event in your home can be pretty traumatic and make you feel a bit helpless... Sam has an awesome bedside manner and I could tell from the start that he was a very genuine, good person to work with. He really helped talk me down from freaking out and assured me not to worry and that everything was going to be ok. I believed him and was let down. It turns out he took over this franchise from his parents following a career traveling the world filming rock bands (it was time to settle down I guess). Pretty interesting background and not what I expected! You can tell he grew up around the business though, as he definitely knows his stuff and has all the proper certifications for this type of work.

So I gave Sam my key and let him do his thing. Not only did he figure out what was causing the leak (a plumbing issue) and get it stopped ASAP, he finished the repairs much sooner than I expected and did a fantastic job at that! His follow-up and communications were great during the process... Always updating me on the repair progress and texting me pics. He was also extremely fair with me when it came to pricing and was quick to suggest was he thought I might be able to save some money on the repairs, even if it meant not using him for some of them. He also went to bat for me directly with my insurance company when they were being difficult about payment and got the job down on that front as well.

When it comes to this type of emergency work, you really need someone who is responsive, trustworthy, competent, and emotionally aware. Sam is all these things and more! My only regret is that I didn't write this review sooner... I had meant to write it several months ago after the event had occurred, but got caught up in other things and spaced on it. Oh well... I hope if you're reading this now it helps you out in knowing this is a great company to call!

Our 3 bedroom condo experienced water damage on a freezing / thawing Chicago winter weekend. Within hours, ServiceMaster Restoration By Simons-Chicago had confirmed their availability and scheduled an arrival appointment for early the next day. I have put a lot of thought into this recommendation for ServiceMaster Restoration by Simons=Chicago .If it were not for this company and its owner, Sam Simon, I know for certain that the experience would have been extremely difficult to deal with.

I was away when my nephews stopped by to check on the house. They walked into darkness, no electricity and water everywhere on the first floor and basement due to a burst pipe under the kitchen sink. Sam was out to the house the very next morning with equipment to begin the water removal and drying out of all the wet surfaces both upstairs and down. They then proceeded to remove all the damaged flooring for the replacement process. Now, just a little more than two weeks later, my house is prepped and ready for replacement/repairs to begin so that I may move back into my home as soon as it is habitable.

Sam and his staff made the ENTIRE process as painless as possible while keeping me well informed and up to date as to what was being done. Sam was also just a phone call away when I had questions or needed further explanations as to what was going on. No matter how much I express my appreciation, it will never come remotely close to what he/they deserve and have earned. I cannot begin to express my appreciation for what Sam and his staff did to make this as painless a process as would be expected under the circumstances.

Had water damage from a big storm and called a few different companies to assess the damage as soon as possible. Sam at ServiceMaster answered right away and said he would be over within the half hour. He arrived early, assessed the extent of the damage in multiple rooms, and advised his team to bring a specific number of fans and dehumidifiers for each area that was wet. The team installed the equipment about an hour later, and checked back twice over the course of four days to ensure the dampness was being eliminated. Ultimately, ServiceMaster's prompt attention to the problem saved us the expense and hassle of opening up walls and ceilings.

I am the treasurer for the 209 Ridge Condo Association. We had a flood in our basement and called ServiceMaster Restoration by Simons for a basement cleaning and to have our carpets cleaned. Our company was moving out of state. The old office in Chicago was quite a mess after all the furniture have been removed. Carpets were in really bad shape and I was sure I'd get in trouble with our landlord. A friend of a friend recommended Service Master. Service Master sent a crew within an hour of being notified of my flooding disaster. The courteous team quickly cleared out and cleaned up my soggy basement. They positioned fans and dehumidifiers to dry out the premises. Three days later they returned to check the progress and reposition the machines. Three days later the machines were removed and the area was back to normal. I would call Service Master in a heart beat if I needed them again.

Sam and his team at ServiceMaster by Simon were outstanding. We hired ServiceMaster by Simon to remove the smoke smell and clean the ash in our living room after our fireplace filled it with smoke. Sam came out when he said he would and was actually early. He was very thorough in explaining our options and was reassuring everything could be fixed. Sam was very patient with all of our follow up questions regarding the contract and services. When his team came out, they did exactly what they said they would do and were extremely careful not to damage anything. His team was very nice and accommodating. What I m about to say next is unheard of based on my experience. Sam followed up several times in the weeks after the job was complete. ServiceMaster has been a blessing ! 4 years ago we had water damage due to a busted bathroom pipe an their staff were very professional and friendly .They came out quickly and got to work immediately and did a wonderful job! So last month when we had water damage due to a frozen pipe we didn't think twice and called ServiceMaster and again they did a GREAT job!

I was lucky to get in contact with ServiceMaster Simon. We called this particular franchise after a dramatic kitchen fire and Sam Simon came right out to survey the damage.

He was recommended by our insurance company and they were spot on. He showed us how the smoke and resulting soot spread throughout our home. He explained "soot chains" to us. He went through every step of the cleaning process and made sure we understood fully.

Sam had a way of bringing our nerves down from a Level 20 and easing our tension He has a great "bedside manner."

Furthermore, Simon's crews were impeccable. They were just as informed and helpful in explaining the cleaning process. We asked for a few extra things and they happily obliged. They were very meticulous with the cleaning. We watched them.

Sam did exactly what he said he would do. One could never tell that we had a near catastrophe.

I contacted ServiceMaster By Simon's after our neighbors washing machine malfunctioned. Warm, sudsy water got under our hardwood floors and they immediately started to warp. The Simons' crew installed an amazing machine that sucked all the water out from UNDER our floors over a five day period. The crew which consisted of four young men, were very knowledgeable, kind and did everything to keep my family and I calm and collected through the whole process and ultimately saved our wood floors. Otherwise who knows how long we might have been displaced from our home.

Sam at Service Master has professional integrity and is wonderfully supportive. After water poured through my light fixtures in my condo from a pipe break two floor above, Sam came to evaluate the water content of walls, floors, etc.
He assessed that a full on dry-out was not necessary even though my floors are clearly damaged. He gave me options versus imposing unecessary costs to my insurance company. All of this with no compensation for his time. Sam is an exemplary professional, honest and kind. He left his card with the offer to freely answer any questions I may have as I navigate this stressful process.
Hopefully, I will never never again need a visit from Service Master in the future (fingers AND toes crossed!), but if I do, I will definitely go with this company.

I highly recommend this company. My work takes me abroad for extended periods of time. My BFF called me long distance one day to tell me that the neighbors in the flat above had a major break in a water pipe, which, as gravity would have it, all came down in my apartment. Most of all the items in my living and dining room were thoroughly soaked, including my photography, valuable art pieces, oriental rugs, furniture, as well as my newly installed oak floors. A couple of company's were contacted and messages were left with the answering services. My insurance recommended ServiceMaster By Simons. I contacted them and a person picked up the phone on the first ring. That person was Sam Simon. I was half a world away, at least three time zones. I had my work to get back to and panicking had no place in my day. He listened to me, gathered information and then he did exactly what I needed most....he eased my mind. He assured me that everything would be okay, he assured me that he would do everything in his power to save my photography and my artwork. He assured me that when I returned home, it would be exactly as I'd left it. Assurances. He kept his promise. I got to know Sam a bit from our conversations on the phone. Intriguing that prior to ServiceMaster By Simons he'd had a long career as a television producer. Even more intriguing that before that, he was a Social Worker in Illinois. Intriguing and completely understandable. He managed the groups of people working on my home like a film or television producer would and he cared for my welfare like a social worker would. Some hybrid Sam is. Fast forward a few weeks and I returned home. My floors were intact. They didn't need to be replaced because ServiceMaster By Simons saved them using their special drying machines. My furniture was all dry and clean. Sam and his crews put all my walls and ceilings back up and freshly painted them. The only thing missing was my photography and art pieces, but that was because the restoration process was not yet completed. I'm very happy with Sam and his guys (by the way, Sam's crews are the nicest gentlemen you'll want in your home.) I am grateful to you. I'll be leaving again for work soon, but I will add an update when I receive the rest of my art and photography.

ServiceMaster Restoration by Simons could not have been a better partner in getting through a recent rain water infiltration episode at my lakefront high-rise rental condo.

These guys were prompt, professional and productive from the moment I called frantically looking for help right through final pick-up of their moisture mitigating equipment the next week. All the while, their excellent customer service approach kept me informed + updated (aka: "calm") about the processes being utilized to dry the unit out, remove the damaged flooring materials, etc. and help ward off secondary loss.

Obviously, I hope to never experience another disaster like this, but, if I do, I know having ServiceMaster Restoration by Simons as a resource will help me endure and emerge with my property protected and my sanity intact.

This review is almost a year late but I wanted to share our good experience and express our appreciation for ServiceMaster by Simon's help - and to Sam Simon in particular - for their excellent service to help us restore our commercial building after a broken water heater flooded our home and two floors of commercial spaces below us. We detected the flood on a Saturday morning in May 2019 and less than 2 hours later Sam and his team were on site tearing out wet material and setting up their drying equipment.

For over 3 weeks, Sam and his team came out twice a day to set up and remove their drying equipment in one of our tenant's spaces - a bank that needed to stay open in the middle of the restoration period. They arrived early in the morning before the bank opened to set up and after the bank closed to take out the equipment. In addition, they set up drying equipment in the basement, our home and another tenant's space and diligently monitored the conditions until each area was properly dried out so we could move on to the repair phase. It was a major mess but Sam and his team were cheerful and calm every day and ensured we understood and were comfortable with their plan.

We are very pleased with our experience with ServiceMaster Restoration by Simons and highly recommend them for residential or commercial restoration needs. They are an excellent company and one that we would not hesitate to hire again if we need their services.

He was out to the building an hour later and cleanup started immediately. Our home was recently damaged by a broken water pipe from the apartment above. When we made our insurance claim, they referred us to ServiceMaster. We contacted the ServiceMaster hotline and ServiceMaster Restoration By Simons was sent out to our condo. They were very professional, and explained everything, every step of the way. Our home had to have a lot of the walls and ceilings removed and had to be dried out. ServiceMaster managed to do all of this without ruining the rest of our home, which we found impressive. Recently our family experienced the tragedy of losing a loved one after a long and severe illness. In his absence we had an overwhelming task of sorting through his contents and moving them out of his home. We had estimated that it would take well over a month to go through everything and find places to move the contents. From a former profession I held handling property insurance claims on the East Coast US, I had gotten to know ServiceMaster vendors as very professional and reputable to partner with. This led to me finding ServiceMaster Restoration by Simons in the Chicagoland area for a hoarder clean up job. They were no exception to the positive impact I had from working with the ServiceMaster Brand on the East Coast. Right away, my point of contact, Sue Mabwa, was empathetic and cooperative to our situation. She was very patient and flexible with us, particularly during the first planning phase when our family was still assessing the overall situation.

What impressed me most about my work with Sue was that she only met with me in person once and despite the job being significantly large, she always remembered key areas of uncertainty in the scope of the work better than I had remembered myself (i.e. what to do with an exercise bike in the living room, or collectables in bedroom 2, etc.) I was also amazed to find that ServiceMaster Restoration completed the entire job that would have taken us over a month in just 2-3 days. They were also very flexible in where we wanted the contents moved. We had some contents that needed to go into storage in Chicago and other contents that we needed moved to our home in the suburbs, which Service Masters was able to accomplish for us . As formerly paying for jobs such as these for insurance companies, I also felt that the overall cost for the entire job was a very fair and competitive price.

When the job was complete, it was truly amazing to see our loved one s apartment restored to the state that it once was before he had accumulated so many things over the years. Sue and the team from ServiceMaster Restoration went above and beyond our expectations and addressed all of our family s concerns professionally and were always available to discuss key questions we had during the process. The staff worked diligently on my kitchen and bathroom for a significant amount of time. They were efficient, very skilled and offered advice to me that I can do inbetween visits. When they left my condo looked like a NEW place. I will definately have a date with these people in 6 months.

We had RAW SEWAGE gushing out of a pipe into my basement at 7pm on Saturday evening! After we shook the initial panic, my wife and I threw towels down to try to sop up the awful smelling water pooling on our hardwood floors in several rooms in our basement. Quickly realizing that was not going to do the job I started calling disaster relief companies, as you can imagine at 7pm on Saturday not many were answering or immediately available. I finally reached Sam at ServiceMaster Restoration By Simons. He was at our home to assess our issue within 30 minutes, he called his team and within 1 hour they were here with all of their equipment. We could not believe how fast they got to work and how professional they were considering with what they were deal with! They extracted the sewer water mopped and sanitized the floors and walls then they set up all of the equipment.
They brought in a hardwood floor system that is installed in panels and is taped onto the top of the hardwood floors and hooks up to a vacuum system and actually sucks up and removes the water and moisture through the seams of the floor boards with out putting holes in our floors I have never seen anything like it!
The also brought in several dehumidifiers and air movers. It has been about a day and a half and the machines are still doing their job and the dehumidifiers are still pulling moisture from the air. I have to say that if you have a disaster and are in need of competent, caring, hardworking professionals with all of the right equipment HIRE SERVICEMASTER RESTORATION BY SIMONS!!
