This can not lay claim as a 5 star luxury hotel. The standards on the finishes are terrible. Chipped tiles. Ripped carpets. Scratched flooring. Scratched furniture. The cat urine smell in the hallway! Absolutely 100% NOT a 5 star hotel. This is luxury 20 years ago and NOT luxury today. Service was average at best. Front desk staff were somewhat friendly, but not what is come to be expected from 5 star. Perhaps management actually need to stay at a 5 star resort to understand the standard? The one across the road is a good place to start.

The lobby area looks nice but the premise is revealing the signs of the time, e.g.the carpets along the hotel corridors need a urgent replacement. The service at the bar is poor and the attendants show a lack of professional knowledge. All considered, this place needs a general massive upgrading to keep on with the Versace brand.

Champagne prices for beer service. We upgraded and frankly we shouldn't have bothered. It's missing the things that basic accommodation has. E.g. no coffee maker. Even the holiday inn does a coffee machine and pods. Breakfast is basic with pre cooked poached eggs sitting in cold water. Jason in the piano bar provided excellent service and attention to detail. That's one out of many who fell short.

It was a good stay! The food was excellent and the staff superb! There was a staff member who was particularly helpful, accommodating and shared his knowledge about the area with us. Unfortunately I did not get his name but it appeared he assisted the front desk and also carried our luggage to our room.

The front desk staff all were professional and pleasant. Dining room for breakfast were nice and pleasant. We do not know when will be our next visit but sure we shall return to this lovely place. Already recommended your hotel to a few of our friends.

Always a great place to visit and could not recommend enough to anyone looking for a relaxing and welcoming hotel.

We stayed here over 23 and 24th of March. Our experience was terrible They made a mistake with our room we had a twin room as opposed to a king room. We had to cover the difference for an upgrade as they had no available King rooms which cost us an additional $200 per night. It was the most overpriced ridiculously frustrating experience . The service was appalling. We waited for 55 minutes by the pool for a drink that we never received, the staff twice lost the order. We ended up cancelling it with no apology from anyone. The wing that we stayed in the hallway was not air-conditioned and smelt damp. Our king bed was so uncomfortable that I woke with a bruise on my shoulder because I had a spring sticking into me whilst I was asleep. Lastly, the airconditioner in our room could not be changed from 16C. We have stayed in many five-star hotels around the country and also overseas and this by far was one of the worst. Basically we paid for a six star hotel and It was really a three star. It was an absolute waste of money.
Finally, I think it s important to say this is the first review I have ever written.

We had the high tea today, they were short staffed and apologised for this but overall it was good and the food itself was perfection. Only disappointing thing that really stood out was that on going to the Ladies, I was disappointed to be presented with the same cheap awful hand soap from the pump as what you d get at Macca s. Hand towels not what you d expect with individual flannels, but just kitchen roll paper towels. Seems silly but these small sensory luxuries make a big difference in a luxury experience .

The worst experience of my life.

The worst experience of my life.
1. Forgot my key when I left the room to go get a coffee (because their coffee is bad) and because my friend who actually booked the condo was out, they wouldn't let me back into the room. Even though I had someone who was up in the room call reception and explain they wouldn't budge - I was stuck outside for 3hrs at night in wet board shorts! It is a 3bedroom 2 story condo and yet they would only let the person who booked back in???? Yeah that makes sense.... Don't you have a duty of care to ALL the guests.

2. On the way out of the building it was 5am and silly me left the room key in the room thinking I was leaving so wouldn't need it - bad move - subsequently stuck between the lift and the outside door without a key

3. Terrible food and rediculously over priced average service. I can't believe someone let these children run a hotel especially under the Versace brand!

4. I have never been treated so badly in all my life.

Having lived in Brisbane for over 11 years , I have to say that Versace the Gold Coast has been and still is my all time favourite place to visit . The live piano performance is absolutely amazing beyond words description . This live piano performance at Versace is a key drive for my visit each time and certainly Versace wouldn t stand out from the crowd as much without this iconic feature of the hotel . I strongly recommend you all to enjoy this Devine experience at Versace ! Enjoy the music !

Disgraceful, $119 for Mother's Day high tea, the food was seriously so bad, we all left hungry. We waited for 45mins or more for the food. It was such a shame, me and my 3 grown children so $480 I wouldn't think $48 was even suitable. I've never been served such a RIP off and poor service as well.

I have mixed feelings about this place, stayed three nights, night one I would have rated 1 star due to poor experience with the romance pack, pretty terrible service at Vanitas and poor room service. However that seemed to be a one of as the next two days staff were pretty amazing, buffet breakfast is one of the best I've had around the world and the day spa!! Couldn't fault the facilities or the excellent service. If night one went well it would have been 5 starts.

Nicely positioned 5 star resort (which I will rated 4* when compared with other resort) due not many amenities in resort and areas which is ready for renovated.
My frustration for 3 stars rating was dining and lunch experience - we have in our package 1 dinner and 1 lunch which we could not use due restaurant capacity and as we try 2 times early morning in 3 days to book dinner restaurant was booked - if we know that we will book 1mts prior arrival to have dinner there. Because we was losing 25min under building trying to find parking we was late 2 min after 2:30 and we been told chef not taking more orders even if is lunch up to 3pm then we went to swimming pool bar trying to order 2 pizza for kids and we been told they running out of pizza base (OMG 5 star resort running out of pizza base???) We feed kids and our self in MC Donald next door.
Shame on you 5 star resort Versace you let your guest to leave resort hungry and angry.
Generally Australia has one of the worst hospitality services in the world beside this hotel

Poor management and reservation. Tried a few times now trying to make a booking for 7rooms but can't get through. Took several minutes to get through and staff didn't call back when I finally did get through. Are you a 5star hotel or 1? Maybe get better staff to manage bookings.

We were so looking forward to our 3 day getaway at Palazzo Versace: so much so that we even had our car detailed in anticipation of the valet parking, but if you're planning to do the same, don't bother- valet parking has gone the way of service at this oversized motel.

Suspicions were raised the moment we set foot in the lobby as we waited to be acknowledged. We were eventually seen to (not welcomed) by the sullen individual behind the check-in desk, given the key to our room and told our luggage would be close behind.

Being newlyweds, we had booked what was called a 'romance' package only to find our room contained two single beds! We decided to wait until our luggage arrived to question a member of staff about our room allocation. We waited a long time! When our bags finally arrived we were told to call the front desk, which we did and were begrudgingly told they 'might be able to move us' and that they'd call back. Again we were left waiting. Four hours after arriving, we were finally moved to a more suitable room with lesser views but a bed for two.

Fortunately, we had a function to attend that evening which meant escaping the confusion, always slow and sometimes non existent service for a considerable amount of time.

The next day we availed of our $300 poolside cabana. We wandered down to the pool and asked which of the cabanas to occupy. The attendant seemed confused and lead us to the nearest one. We waited for him to return with our pre-purchased drinks and refreshments but he never came back. Eventually I got up and made my way over to their station where two attendants were talking and joking around. Once I got their attention, I asked where our drinks and fruit platter were. They reluctantly told me they didn't have record of our package. No wonder we hadn't seen them: they thought we were freeloading! I insisted we had paid $300 and wanted what we were promised. It was a very awkward conversation I should not have needed to have! They said they would find out and bring our items. Another hour went by and we still hadn't heard from them. The guests in the next cabana produced blow-up pool toys and they were there in a flash with the guests remarking 'wow, this is the most attentive you've been all day!'

Again I asked after our items and once again being told they knew nothing about it was forced to return to my room to get my receipt which I produced poolside and received what we had paid for without so much as an apology! Shortly after, having waited in excess of 5 hours, the weather turned and our day was ruined. I was so disgusted we left a day early never to return.

I regret every hard earned cent I spent on this supposedly 5 star hotel. My partner and I stayed one night in the hopes of treating ourselves to a night of premium accommodation. After check in, we spent the entire day and night at the hotel. When my partner and I were ready for bed, a mere 10 minutes after getting under the covers, my partner felt bites and pains on her ankle. We pulled the blanket aside to reveal at least 6 or 7 small bumps congregated around her ankle and two more on her other ankle and wrist when we woke up the following morning. The bumps were painfully itchy and irritable so we went to reception for first aid and were turned away almost immediately because they supposedly didn t have any first aid available. Not the treatment id expect from a hotel of this reputation. We visited a pharmacy later in the day to get some cream and when my partner showed the pharmacist her bumps, the pharmacist diagnosed it as bed bugs immediately. We called the hotel straight away only to be told by the general manager that after conducting their own investigation that they would do absolutely nothing about our complaint and kept imparting the blame on us - despite our partner being absolutely fine before we went to bed that night. I am disgusted and I want a full refund of our one night s stay. We paid premium prices for a much less than premium experience and treatment.

Extremely overrated!!! The breakfast was like hospital food, and God help you if you encounter The barista, grumpy and slow! Air conditioner didn't work in the room, the shower head broke off completely, and the pool at a temperature for our convenience was absolutely freezing. Customer service is a very low priority here!!! Definitely not worth the $$$.

Wonderful play to stay to indulge, relax and unwind in absolute timeless elegance. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Although the price a is high, it s absolutely worth it for the service experience and unique ambiance. Breakfast buffet is excellent value and quality with such a wide variety to choose from.

Although I do agree with some reviewers, areas of the hotel are starting to look a little tired such as carpets in hallways, fabric on common area furniture such as reception chairs and pool lounge chairs/beds where the fabric is fading/tearing and exterior paint work in some areas is chipping/fading (especially above the pool area).

However the room I was in was immaculate. All in all the experience was 5 star, but I do hope the place gets refurbished soon where needed as the hotel is too beautiful to just let it fall into decay further.

If it weren't for the 'Versace' name, it could be easily confused for a 1 star motel. Absolutely horrified and well below my expectations! It smelt like an old pub, decor was well and truly dated, and there was not one touch of luxury about it except for the Foyer. Don't understand how people believe this is one of the best hotels in the world. Checked out immediately that's how bad it was!

They are unpresentable, very unprofessional, we, as a company have been claiming an invoice for months, and after several emails, they have not even had the shame to respond to any of the emails. For us, as a company it is something unbelievable, we cannot understand the lack of professionalism of this hotel. We will never return and of course, we do not recommend it under any circumstances

Stayed for our anniversary for one in a king lagoon spa room with breakfast. Room was spacious and clean, bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. Rooms getting a little worn for the price. Lovely anniversary gift left on arrival. I was very disappointed that the restaurants were booked out for dinner and that as resort guests we needed to book in to use the indoor pool which was fully booked so we were unable to use the facilities.
