Rooms are modern and the location is fantastic of you are doing anything around South Brisbane (i.e. Southbank). Service is quite slow which is by far the worst part of the stay. The restaurant Bacchus is amazing and the pool bar is decent.

Location was perfect! Walking distance to restaurants, venues and public transport. Staff where friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable, clean and had everything you need for a night stay added bonus for the phone to tv sharing.

Very nice hotel room, well situated at one end of the South Bank. Easy access to the parks as well as the bridge to the Queen St Mall. Internet access is a bit pricey, but works very well. Swimming pool is an odd affair, on the deck next to the big bar/restaurant. It's a small pool with no spa, and seems to be made more to pose alongside rather than swim within. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable, however, with comfy beds and nice bathroom. Staff were friendly and courteous. Overall, a nice stay at a fine hotel.

I spent three nights in the very comfortable and accomodating Rydges Southbank Hotel in the central city. The room was very comfortable, the service unintrusive and the wireless performed faultlessly. Would recommend for people conferencing or working at the Brisbane Conference Complex

The staff were helpful but highly inefficient. We checked in and wanted to pay by cash which was fine. They still needed a credit card impression. Anyhow we tried calling room service twice no answer. Called reception they took our order. Half hour later no food. Since we paid cash there was no room service available. The food turns up cold. We order a steak sandwich the steak was very fatty. The tomato sauce turned up fifteen minutes after the meal.
The valet parking was exceptional. We have a very long and wide car, they accommodated us no problem. Do not think that the price of the room was worth it. There were electric and data cords left in the bottom of draws in the bathroom. No robes. No bowls. Never was asked if we wanted extra cutlery or crockery with our meal. Just not as luxurious as I expected it. However I cannot fault the staff. They were curtious, helpful and nice to talk to. They didn't walk off without explaining what they were going to do.

Overall a lovely stay. Check-in was quick & easy. Our room (Junior Suite) was huge & very clean with a terrific view over South Bank. Our bags which we dropped earlier that morning were waiting for us in the room. The microwave & coffee machine were a bonus, although it would have been useful to have seen these inclusions on the website beforehand, and for there to have been bowls as well as plates in the cupboard. We took advantage of the $10 credit for no room cleaning which I thought said was to save the impact of chemicals, however I would really have liked to still have my bed made daily and toiletry & coffee supplies checked & replenished as needed. We didn't park at the hotel because the cost is much too high. Will definitely stay again.

Here during mandatory quarantine, my partner has Crohn s disease and we ve had to contact front desk, duty managers and chefs on 19 separate occasions as they cannot get the food right despite clear emails, and countless instructions.

They are getting paid $65 per day per person food allowance and this is the trash we receive? Cleary pocketing most of it for profit.

We ve requested a refund on 4 occasions with no phone call back.

Double charged; not given room I booked only to be...

Double charged; not given room I booked only to be 'told in front of guests, now required to still put $100 CASH deposit down BUT NOT ALLOWED TO CHARGE TO MY ROOM'. When in 'wrong room; phoned complaining about room as over looked conv. Ctr I was then "advised I was being upgraded when no I was down graded (11fl - 6fl). No extra benefits due to MAJOR INCONVENIENCE. Room service great Cust. Svc; tried giving cash as adv'd; staff advised NOT ALLOWED to take cash & will call if otherwise. Spoke to reception twice never mentioned sending rm svc staff mem. Up again to not only be embarrassed I was required to pay cash. I thought this was a job policy by room service..? Which is it Rydges!? Discriminated against and yet shown over $10K PLUSSSS in bank account just not cleared at present. 12am - it cleared!

So disappointed! Was placed in a room that was clearly used for dual use access. Could hear guests talking, yawning , even sneezing in next room over the TV along with their young children (who didnt settle at all during the night). I guess with no solid wall due to door in wall..this created the poor sound block out. Vanity basin leaked so much..ruined toiletry bag on bench. Complained to front desk..Was offered a complimentary coffee which I don't drink. Left very tired and unimpressed. Also left feedback card, never followed up. Rydges will never get my business again. Mantra next time we visit Brisbane.

King suite was superb. Coffee pod machine. Big suite with seperate bedroom and kichenette. Pool area had a bar and comfortble deck area with snacks available all day. Close to restaurents and the river. Would stay there again.

Absolutely loved my 5 night stay here over New Yea...

Absolutely loved my 5 night stay here over New Years! The place was just immaculate and the service was just fantastic! So bloody fantastic of you to offer complimentary cold water out the front on a nice hot day, and housekeeping even coming back to our room after we were asleep when they first came around to offer us fresh towels or anything else we needed! Also the young girl working the bar behind the pool on New Year s Eve had some of the best customer service skills I ve ever seen! Also loved how close to everything the hotel was so even a walk into the city was reasonable. Thanks for an excellent stay we will definitely be back

Quarantined for 14 days. Food substandard - no choice, poor quality and small quantity. Contacted Dept. Health who confirmed it is the hotel which decides how they spend the $65 daily food allowance. Rydges appear to have decided to rip off quarantined people. Very poor and greedy!

Comfortable beds, great facilities. Easy access to Convention Centre. Concierge very helpful. Valet parking is great, but very expensive and no option to self park available. Meals are always great. Housekeeping staff are always friendly. We always enjoy our stay at Rydges.
