Not the happiest customer. I had an incident where hot water was spilled on me due to the fact that the waitress left the tray in the corner of the table. I got burned and i was in so much pain but the hotel was more interested in charging me for a cup of tea rather then looking after to see if i was ok or not.

For a hotel of this caliber very poor service. Other then that the rooms and the atmosphere great.

Such a shame, this used to be a fabulous hotel. Now it is incredibly understaffed, the service quality is poor. Food quality in every restaurant has dropped. In room dining staff do not answer the phone. Concierge staff do not answer the phone. I have never seen anything like it. Five star prices for three star quality. In need of a refurb, upholstery is faded and in some places torn. Very disappointing stay. A shadow of the hotel it was a decade ago.

Extremely rundown and a stay from hell. So many disappointing aspects. General cleanliness was substandard. Staff blame impending renovations! I tried contacting the General Manager but no one is willing to provide me his or her name and contact details. I definitely wouldn t recommend

I've been coming to Versace every year for my birthday for 5 years. It never fails to disappoint. The rooms are so classically beautiful, the spa bath is my favourite part. The staff are outstanding. The lobby is magical. I've travelled all over the world and visited many hotels and this hotel is by far my favourite. It's my happy place.

Service and staff friendliness was outstanding, certain parts of the hotel are very dated. The food was excellent, desserts was amazing another key feature was the best equipped gym I've been to in a hotel however this was let down by a lack of towels or toliet.
All in all a pleasant experience.

A beautiful and luxurious hotel. The lobby & pool is stunning, the service & the buffet breakfast was amazing every morning. The reason I didn t give 5 stars is because the rooms really need some updating, I think just changing the bed heads would be a great start and then maybe the artwork & some furniture would get the rooms looking more updated and fresh.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend t...

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend to celebrate our 2-year anniversary. It was the worst experience I ve had among hundreds of hotels I ve stayed at in Australia and overseas.

1. The room was not as advertised. The entertainment system was advertised to include TVs with premium channels AND pay per view films in the room type we booked. When we arrived we found out that the condo room we were placed in did not only fail to provide this, but had some of the most outdated television systems I ve seen (including a VCR). One of the two TVs did not even work - displaying a static image when turned on. The other TV had a picture display with such a bad quality that rendered it unwatchable.

2. We asked to be moved to a new room which ended up being a downgrade. Our bags were supposedly invisible to the staff who were meant to move the bags between rooms during the downgrade. I was interrupted twice while trying to enjoy time by the pool with my wife, by staff telling me they could not see my bags. Finally, I went up to point out the bags and sort out the issue myself.

3. We consistently received bad treatment from rude and incompetent staff, especially during our pool bar experience. We willingly paid $299 for a cabana package because we were there to enjoy ourselves. The package allows us to sit on a cabana mattress by the pool and have lunch. Little did we know that we would be waiting 2 hours for our food to arrive. We watched other people who came 1-1.5hours after us get their food and eat it before we even got our food. Upon inquiring with staff at the pool, I was told that they were still learning and were overwhelmed . I followed up on my food 5+ times before physically having to walk inside and call the manager to launch an investigation into the issue. As it turned out, we were finally told that the order was lost.

4. Finally, and probably equally insulting, was our experience regarding late check outs. On Saturday night, we requested a late checkout from reception staff on night shift - she extended the check out till 1pm. She also mentioned that there may be possibility to extend this further, free of charge, if the room wasn t needed. She advised us to check with reception the next day. The next day after breakfast, we checked with staff at reception and she extended our stay until 3pm (free of charge) so that we could experience the pool facility further before leaving at 5pm for our flight. When we came to check out at 3pm, there was a different staff member at reception, who had a terrible attitude and insisted that we owed the hotel $200 for the two hours over 1pm. I patiently recounted the events to him and he very clearly expressed that he wanted to charge the $200. We requested to speak to the prior staff member so that she could verify the story and he advised us she wasn t there insisting that we pay the $200. We again patiently explained that we did not owe $200. He then went to the back to check and returned saying that he would hold the charge . We of course objected to this ominous reply, explaining that there is no charge to hold. He explicitly stated that dealing with this matter would take him two hours. I requested to speak to the manager as we felt we had been lied to. He adamantly objected saying he had just spoken to the manager. We again asked to speak to the manager. When we AGAIN explained the situation to the manager, she then called the previous staff member (in a call that took less than 3 minutes), and was told that the series of events I had recounted was in fact correct. Finally the $200 charge was removed.

When paying for something presenting itself as a premium luxury certified five star service, you expect to be treated with some form of dignity. This was the opposite of what we experienced. We found ourselves FIGHTING our way through the weekend. I would actively discourage anyone from staying at this hotel.

We visited for cocktails and dinner. The cocktails were superb but we couldn't understand why there were not complimentary snacks. They seem to be missing a trick here. There is bar food and we ordered the baked camembert with toast which was delicious, although with only five tiny pieces of bread it meant reordering additional toast. Our waitress kindly pointed out that this would cost $5 more which we thought was a bit on the nose.

The buffet at Il Barocco had an extensive array of fresh seafood accompanied by meat and poultry dishes. The wine list was excellent. Come with a big appetite though. At $99 per guest, this buffet must be one of the most expensive in town.

All in all, a beautiful Hotel although showing its age now and probably in need to renovation.

For what you pay you would expect the polite courtesy of a dental kit without needing to call reception and waiting half an hour for it. Also with a superior suite the continued tradition of a complimentary cologne since you cant pack on in your carry on luggage would be preferred rather than being rejected of one since you're not there for a "special occasion". The bar closed at 10pm which when coming back from your dinner at surfers paradise is far too early if you want a final drink before hitting your bed for the night. All in all, don't waste your money with Versace, I'm sure the sheraton across the road is pretty good! Also fix your damn cabana lounges why are they all ripped up!

Absolutely beautiful location and amazing staff. I hosted a three day conference at Versace and the events staff were immensely accommodating and helpful. The food was first class and delicious, the rooms were beautifully styled with the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The pool area was divine at night and your function room was perfect! The personal gifts in our rooms were also a perfect little touch. Thanks for such an amazing experience

Overall we had a nice stay at Palazzo Versace. The beds were comfortable and staff was very friendly. I like the gym in particular.

However, there are also some downs which you wouldn t expect in a hotel if this category:
Service performance was inconsistent. We discoverd great service as well as some bad situations.
For example they forgot our lunch orders at the pool restaurant and we had to wait approximately 100 minutes for it to arrive. All other guests seemed to receive their food quite quickly however. As compensation we didn t have to pay for this order which was nice.
Food overall was good. The breakfast buffet as well as the dinner buffet option was nice. Just the breakfast atmosphere was completely shocking because it was too overcrowded and too loud because of all the loud people.

There is also some lack of detail which is a shame because this hotel could perform much better.
Some parts of the hotel could need some updating.
But overall we had a nice stay.

Unfortunately the property is dating and rather tired. Room was not consistent with 5 star hotel. Pool is cold. Certainly not kid friendly, and whilst I know it s not a kids hotel, there are rules that make it actively kid un-friendly... totally senseless. There are much better hotels in area at a fraction of the cost. Hotel seems to have forgotten what it stands for. Not enough staff to provide service at bar or by pool... so a nice place to feel very lonely, too!

Terrible Hotel. Be very careful of your "confirmed & paid" bookings, Newly Married couple turned away at 1am with proof of payment and booking confirmation on our wedding night. Staff and management are extremely rude and arrogant, did nothing to help other than try and charge us again for another night. Stay away!!

Still good for the name and laying near the lagoon but it s not the same as it was 5 years ago. Changed to a 3 star in my opinion. Rooms are dated, service is average. They used to greet you in the hallways etc - not anymore they look the other direction. Buffet food was worse than ever. Prawns stunk like feet. Hot food was disgusting. Very upset the quality has gone down this much over the years. Last time we will be visiting. Many better options on the Gold Coast to stay IMO

Even one star is too much, never come back here again. There is no manager. After 4 hours to get our room, we have to book for another hotel as no one cares you are sitting there almost half of the day. Very poor customer service. AND TO MENTION THAT THE PLACE HAS BEEN RUN DOWN

It is my second time back as a guest. Had to wait a bit for check in as there was only one person at the service desk. While we were checking in, we weren't informed of the check out time or what time breakfast was as it was included in our stay. Our room didn't even have milk.

First room we got assigned had a mouldy odour, requested another room which was taken care of with minimal hassle. Second room the aircon vent wouldn t stop rattling, I used coasters to bandaid the problem after engineering took longer then 30 minutes to arrive, we left and assuming they did nothing if they attended at all as the problem still existed. One bedside lamp was faulty, the paint throughout the building leaves a lot to be desired. Overall it is not a 5 star hotel anymore lucky to rate 4 in my opinion.
