What a disappointing experience. We booked for buf...

What a disappointing experience. We booked for buffet dinner and we were told what the price per person is, when we turn up we were told the price has increased by $30 pp although we booked three days before the date and left our phone number.
We expect that they had some leftover lobsters they wanted to get rid off before Christmas Eve hence they shoved it on customers, it was not fresh and cooked mornay most likely to disguise the taste, no one on the table completed his lobster.
The hot buffet was well below average and when we ordered lamb cutlets and steak, the steak was 5 mm thick and the small lamb cutlets full of fat.
The cold seafood buffet and the desert was up to standard expected. The rest very disappointing. We will never go back again and will share this experience with our friends and family.

Stayed for first time over the Easter break , nice ambiance and beautiful architecture.
However rooms are outdated and a little rusty
Mattress was sagging and wake up every morning with sore back
Hall way carpet smelly
No remote for air con , you actually have to walk to the panel to change the temp
For Versace I was expecting better

They have issues, seems like they are under staffed, the place is generally run down and maintenance of the grounds seems lacking. The staff that were there were nice and friendly, but seems like there are not enough staff.

A really beautiful hotel, with excellent service standards. The food was delicious and coffee available in abundance (thank God, as we are coffee lovers!). The only downfall of this hotel is truly some of the clientele it attracts - the loud show off type that are there purely to let other people know they stayed at Palazzo Versace. I am sure anyone reading this review knows the type I am talking about. But, ultimately, the reason I have dropped off 2 stars from my review is due to my experience in the Spa. I booked in for a massage and was placed in a room with absolutely FREEZING aircon blowing high-vol directly onto me. I had commented to the masseuse about it and she was apologetic and explained it was this way in all the rooms. In the end I was covered with multiple towels AND a blanket over my naked body and STILL freezing - that's how cold it is in there. I expressed my displeasure at paying a full amount for the massage to which the masseuse offered 15% off, I said I think it would be fair for me to pay 50% and the masseuse explained she would need to call her manager to obtain the ok to do this. I was ok with this, I know that there a protocols. I later received a phone call to my room with the masseuse explaining the manager was only willing to offer 25% off as the aircon was, and I quote, "out of their control" --- as if it were in MY control. The masseuse herself was actually so lovely and understanding, she explained that she really was trying to make the manager understand just how cold it had gotten in there - and I believe she was being genuine in telling me this. This experience left me with a truly sour taste in my mouth, considering we were there to get married and had no negative experiences at the hotel during our stay prior to this. Also quite a shame it happened the evening before we checked out and that was all that was lingering in my mind during our departure. I will definitely return to the hotel, the Spa services will not be on the agenda for me - I would rather call in a masseuse to our room.

Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff, clean rooms, opulent styling. It s expensive but worth it. I d stay here again, no doubt. The coffee (and the poolside hot chips) were disappointing but still, I m calling this the cleanest and most visually beautiful hotel I ve stayed in.

Being a Clive Palmer type playboy philanthropist, I certainly enjoy some of the better things in life, oh, and don't I deserve them which is why I really liked my stay at Versace. Staff were friendly, the main bar made some fabulous cocktails... reception, housekeeping, concierge all said hello at at some time over my few days there. Although, I was disappointed the Valet took my Yaris down to the carpark...and brought it back up the next day... I was hoping he'd mistaken it for a Maserati or a Lamborghini. Love the giant swimming pool. Room was large and comfortable, food was great. I'll be going back I'm sure in the future. Get me another prawn!!

A few of their team really let them down on service. Especially pool side. I think the prices they charge dont match the service at this point. They have also seemed to downgrade a lot of the little things that made the stay special since last time I was here.

The front office staff doesn t know what information they required to provide to the guests. Provide confusing information and very rude behaviour. As soon as we entered we were informed that they cannot bring our bags to the room as they don t have enough resources and asked us to take our bags. The staff need to know that they get paid because of the guests. Two of us got sick after eating the seafood buffet dinner. On another day we were informed that they don t have enough resources in one of their restaurants and didn t accept our reservation. Pls don t waste your money I am sure there are better places in Gold Coast.. The photos of the hotel are misleading, run down interior and average facilities compared to other luxury hotels we have been to.

If you get a lagoon view room.. Make sure you ask for a ground floor room so that you get to directly walk out onto its edge... Nice place to sit and hv an evening sip. Upper floors only give you a balcony thats abt 1 foot in depth...

Wow its always an enjoyable experience amazing architecture but one down fall was sub standard check in staff. We were not even shown to our room let alone explaining what the hotel had to offer. Remember at $1500 per night that is totally unacceptable

I stayed in the Superior Room for 2 nights in March. The service was terrible with extremely rude and unhelpful staff who thought they were superior. Our sheets had large rips in them (one of which was over 30cm) and the bed was filled with sand and dirt.
Upon checkout I lodged a formal complaint and I am yet to receive a response. Would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Stunning hotel. Comfortable bed, very roomy suites. Would be 5 stars if it hadn't been for the terrible room service. We put in the order via the hotel room phone and 45 minutes later, our breakfast still hadn't arrived. We called again and they said that its ready but they didn't have our room number?? Considering we called from the room phone, that was peculiar and why didn't they follow up? The food arrived stone cold - pretty poor service from a 5-star luxury hotel.

When spending $500 a night, while other hotels are...

When spending $500 a night, while other hotels are around $200 you expect double the quality and value and I didn t feel it here, it is a Beautiful place but that s what you expect for the price. The wow factor is left for the foyer and pool area, all which you can explore for free. I found it a little run down and let go it is July and they still have Christmas decorations up in their restaurant and you can tell they are dated. There is built up mould in the showers and my room had previous guests belongings still there. It doesn t need a full on renovation just a scrub and touch up in the rooms.
Staff are pleasant but not as accommodating as they could be. The food was 3.5-4 star. Do not book a standard Superior King room, it is nothing like what you expect I walked straight out and paid more for a better room overlooking the lagoon.

Huge disappointment. Had a reservation for my birthday which had been confirmed by my partner, when we arrived you had double booked someone (I m guessing a celebrity) and pretended that you couldn t find us. You were purposely mis-spelling the last name to show us there wasn t a record of a booking. If you had bothered to look up the actual last name you would see we have been premium customers who previously spent thousands of dollars with Versace and Vanitas. Will never come here again after being treated so badly on my birthday and so unhelpful by the staff who just wanted us to get out. I left in tears after a staff member who was supposed to assist us said there s nothing we can do, it really sucks that it s on your birthday, sorry, bye . The manager then dodged our calls and ignored our phone messages. Amazingly unprofessional all around, myself and none of my friends are ever going back. The food is honestly nothing special either, the only good part is the interiors and view.

I ve stayed at Versace many times and always had delightful memories of the hotel. My last stay was however nothing like the hotel I remember. The hotel needs a renovation or even just some more upkeep. Gone are the beautiful Versace Towels at the pool now you have small white towels. All the plates and towels in the room are no longer Versace and I wouldn t mind so much if I wasn t paying to stay at a branded hotel, however, if your staying a branded hotel you should expect to see it everywhere. Also the food has gone down a lot as well!!!! They have really cut costs, the hotel is pretty empty in comparison to what it was. It really is such a shame.

My review on the high tea experience was truly a let down. The service was really bad, in fact the waitress didn t approach us, we had to call her over each time we required service. We were seated at a dirty table which had ring marks from cups on it and a dirty cup as well. Our food was left in the sun for 15 minutes while they corrected their delivery mistake. Huge waste of money.

Had dinner there with my partner last Saturday night and WOW, it was amazing. Valid was our serving waiter for the night and he was absolutely without a doubt one of the most amazing waiters I have ever encountered.

The food - we did the degustation menu and omg. It was like something out of the movies. I don't think I have ever had such amazing flavours and had such a welcoming atmosphere.

The tortellini was without a doubt my favourite. And so different. Its hard to describe in words how good it actually all is. The scallops and the Caprino - without a doubt the best Ive ever had.

If you are a local - come back and have a look at the new menu. Its absolutely out of this world.

If you are a tourist - you must not miss out on this experience. If you want to impress someone, you will not fail.

What a joke...ok I will say one waiter was great, open happy & very friendly outside of that the rest of the staff where rude my bags were misplaced and 1 of three rooms were delayed so they offered to move our room to another wing and when we complained reception told us that we bought these rooms on luxury escape and that they wouldn t make any money from us anyway followed by a very blank stare.
To be honest this sort of thing doesn t really bother me , I travel a lot and the opportunity for a comfortable cheap bed is always good and if occupancy rates are down there s a reason and its there for the taking .
Palazzo ...If you were killing it you wouldn t be selling cheap rooms.

We used to come here often and was always a absolute pleasure. We arrived yesterday with our young son for the first time. I was absolutly shocked how disappointing everything has been since we arrived. Litterally from the moment we arrived. I organized an early check in so that our young boys sleep could be as routine as possible. There was no record of this and they had us sit in the foyer and wait until 345pm while people were checking in around us and the staff were helping accommodate tourists take pictures and videos of entering the hotel. I think there may be a language barrier because I only speak English and I m unsure a lot of the staff are able to fluently converse in English.
Our baby is unable to sleep in the portacot that we have had to pay to hire because it severely breaches the minimum Australian safety standards and is a SIDS risk. So for the first time in his life he is in the bed with us. (Yes another risk I m aware)
I would be appalled by the service and standard of this hotel if it was considered 3 stars but to hold it to a 5 star rating it s deplorable.
We won t be back in a hurry, I will however be forwarding pictures of the portable cot to the ACCC to review.

Our family had really bad experience with Palazzo Versace. Firstly the room price is not cheape then compare to the service and general facilities are not good enough. It is not worth it to pay such high price and get the low average service here.
-We called three times reception just to get lighter and waited over 30 min.
- Television is not working-( the message appears on the screen says that Network connection lost please contact front desk at the night we couldn t even get to watch TV.
-The facilities in the room are very antiquated and old fashioned. I will never recommend my friends to come stay here. Hey everyone please do not deceived by their features and appearance. Choose to stay in somewhere else.
The check in deposit hasn t been returned. I ve been calling and nothing been arrived since we have checked out out 2 weeks ago. It is rediclous....and speechless..:::
