Excellent location. It's so close to everything downtown and the central rail station. Room was amazing. Big comfy bed with a quiet atmosphere. Enjoyed the hot tub by their in-house spa. Only slight letdown was the restaurant. Food was average and a bit overpriced..

Buffet is awesome. Expensive on the big nights but worth every penny, though desserts usually suck. Attentive staff and a cool vibe with the atmosphere. Rated A
Not very friendly function staff, not bad food though. Hotel toilet next to functuon room's cleanness is not well maintained compared to similar level hotels.
I was there for "The Big Meet", and never really interacted with Sofitel itself in any way. Nevertheless, the facilities were fine, and things seems well organised and spaced out.
Attended a conference and the staff were nice and helpful. Rooms were great as were the facilities. Very good technicians helped make the event run smoothly.
Nice hotel with fantastic buffet breakfast and good gym facilities. Rooms slightly dated and not flashy by any means, but clean and pleasant to stay in.
Attended a professional event. Staff were helpful when I had trouble finding the function room. Hotel location is very convenient right next to public carparking and Central Station.
Absolutely quality service from the concierge , A long drive from Hervey Bay for an appt , One carpark was full so went to Sofitel , My 4wd wouldn't fit !!! Thank you very much Sofitel Brisbane you've been a great help
For such a well appointed and centrally located hotel your main bar is disappointing. Apart from lacking atmosphere the beer selection is limited (5 on tap) and the types of beer to choose from eminate from the 1980's! Come on guys, how about a Queensland made craft beer or two. I certainly won't be drinking at your main bar again sorry Geoff
Went there for the seafood buffet which was quite expensive. It was alright. We had a lovely serviceman who was very accommodating, friendly and attentive.
Only had dinner but it was wonderful. Just got food from the buffet. It tasted much fresher than other buffets I have eaten from. Would definitely go again.
The Sofitel Central Brisbane was absolutely stunning. I was there for a professional event, and the room was set up so well. The catering was superb, with a mix of items that suited all kinds of food allergies. A fantastic establishment, I will definitely be returning; next time, I'd love to see what the rooms are like.
The fact the you have to pay for wifi and they charge a $100 security deposit is a little surprising, as most 5 star Hotels have your card on file and charge it, if need be. only providing 3 star's as the staff were friendly and professional but ill be staying with my regularly (Marriott)
Called into the Sofitel this afternoon for a pot of tea. Exhausted and wanted a rest before going home. I had the pleasure of a young man named Emanuel to serve me. What a delight. The most beautiful smile, gentle, caring and so professional. Wow. We need more like Emanuel. Thank you for your understanding Emanuel.
Stayed here the night before a wedding with the bridal/groom parties. The staff were fantastic and I say this after putting them under some stress. First was having the concierge find a dozen roses for the groom to give to send to the bride, on a Sunday morning. This was followed by having fire services called because the clothes steamer in one of our rooms setting off the alarm. To top it off, the Bride's choice of limo (a chrysler 300c) was inexplicably not sent by the company and at the 11th hour, the Sofitel offered to drive the bride to the wedding in their Audi A8 service car. All in all, would recommend for wedding groups
The restaurants are amazing, with great food and atmosphere. Would not hesitate to have another work function here or to celebrate special occasions with the family.
So we went for dinner. Really nice staff, as one would expect. $69 pp for the buffet, including our 15 year old son. Wouldn't have classed him as an adult, but yeah I suppose. He did eat alot more than I did. :) On to the food ... when we first walked in I thought it looked awesome, plenty of choices, both hot and cold, plus seafood (oysters, mussels, and prawns) Unfortunately that's where the pleasure stopped. Normally I would inhale numerous oysters. 20-30 easily. I had about 4 of theirs, the first 2 were ... ok, then the next one tasted funny, not the sweet fresh flavour one would expect but actually quite bad. Didn't eat another but smelt it instead. It smelt bad. Informed staff who took it to the chefs. I got up a few minutes later to see them take both trays of oysters out the back. Staff returned a short time later with more. I grabbed some more thinking sweet, fresh ones. But no ... not as bad, but i would say atleast couple of days in the fridge. Ok not a deal breaker as there was plenty of other things to eat, and seafood can be hit and miss anywhere you go. So I had some roast pork, cucumber and capsicum. Halfway through, found a strip of plastic in amongst the pork. A good cm wide and at least 8 cm long. That was it for me unfortunately. Quite embarrassed at this stage and feeling like a serial complainer, again informed staff. Apologetic was the matre'd, and said the manager would come and see me, but didn't. The only thing that let me know someone had done anything was the bill. Charged for 2 people, not 3. This would be the first time I have ever complained in a restaurant ever, as I know s**t happens, but borderline oysters followed by a serve of plastic is not what I would expect from a "5 star" establishment. I wouldn't say avoid this place, that's a bit harsh, and there were certainly plenty of people there having a really good time. However the plastic and "ageing" oysters would indicate a possible lack of attention out in the kitchen. And for $69 they are competing with the Stamford and Palazo Versace ..... at the end of the day, the choice is yours.
My wife and I only stayed one night here on a work trip, but it was a comfortable stay.
Our room was large and clean. The bed was comfortable but the pillows too soft, so we made use of the pillow menu to get different ones instead, which was a nice touch.
We used the gym which was modern, clean and had all you d need for a good workout. It had a great view out onto the city from the bikes and treadmills, which was a nice way to start the day.
We ordered room service for breakfast and shared the pastries and a Bircher which were delicious. The small Beerenberg jams provided are one of my favourites!
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is one of the best parts as you can be in central station in a short walk down the escalators or into the city in a 5-10 minute walk.
Nice and comfortable and very conveniently located. The breakfast is also of proper 5 star standards (unlike other hotels). Also one of the places where you can get dinner and drinks in the city after 9:00pm.
