Negatives - Lengthy wait for check in and check out. Bags arrived in room 40 minutes late after I called Concierge. The attendant said he saw our bags sitting in the foyer unattended whale he was parking cars!!! Had to ask twice for ice on the first night. On the second night I was told by housekeeping that they were too busy to deliver ice and I should call room service! Lengthy queue to wait for breakfast. The room toilet seat had been replaced with a cheap Haron seat that did not fit the bowl. Got dirty feet from walking on the floor in the room. Restaurant staff seemed rushed and not overly friendly.
Positives - Food was excellent. Decor was appealing and generally in good repair. Pleasant ambiance.
This is our third stay here. Previous visits were of a higher standard.
My opinion of value for money is three stars.

The Versace Hotel is distinguished from the rest of the Gold Coast hotels with its beauty, beauty and exquisite decor. It is very close to the shopping centers, but just a short distance from the lively street you will need no more steps and I recommend staying there or even visiting it.

Everything was outdated - Versace definitely needs a revamp. Food was quite average in my opinion. I would recommend staying at another hotel in Gold Coast if looking for an all-rounded and satisfying holiday experience

This used to be place to be on the Gold Coast however the services have been dropping and buffet restaurant quality has been poorer. The two weddings I have been here last year were average too. You just don t have the exclusive feeling anymore. I guest the new owner focuses so much on profit with less attention on details.

My Niece and her partner frequently stay at The Versace on the Gold Coast. We always enjoy visiting them there. We also love going to the seafood buffet on Sunday. My husband seems to always fill himself up on the prawns. I like to have a bit of everything - hot and cold dishes. As well as seafood and other dishes, they have amazing desserts and a kids lolly bar.. I don't know about kids but I loved the lolly bar !!
It is a magnificent hotel. The pool is spectacular. The views from the rooms are amazing. Easy parking for visitors underneath the hotel.

Had high expectations for this hotel considering how much money we paid to stay there. However, it seems that they re always short staffed and unable to provide an exceptional service which is a shame for the brand.

I stayed in Versace for two nights and everything is so delightful. The room is spacious and it has elegant design. The restaurant offers good breakfast and dinner buffet. The pool and fountain is so huge, it offers a great water view experience. The staff in this hotel is very attentive.

Palazzo Versace is everything we (mother and daughter) want in a holiday. All the staff are amazingly attentive and they really are your greatest asset. We have a beautiful twin room, a luxurious bathroom and a lovely Juliette balcony with a view over the pool and lagoons. We are here for 10 days and enjoying every minute of every day.

The lobby is lovely but when you look at the ceiling they have black watermarks showing that they in desperate need of a refurb.
Went there for a high tea with group of friends, expecting a good service from a place that called themselves 5 stars hotel, but what we got was a horrendous service! When we asked questions, the waiter call (Suresh/Naresh) said : "Did you read the menu?" and made a very rude comment by saying :"This is the normal hightea - where English people normally do".
We were in absolute shock with the comment! We should have walked out after that - but we try to be positive and stayed. It was the worst decision, because nothing went right afterwards.
Food amounts were inconsistent - missing dishes on the plate, the food and drinks take forever to came to our table.
The tea pot were made of metal and that turns really hot when you hold them.
Will never ever come back to this place!

This is a beautiful venue, a luxury stay. Expensive but you do get what you pay for. Unfortunately their standards have started to drop a little. We have stayed with them so many times since 2010 and have always been treated well. This weekend was disappointing as some of the staff were dismissive and service was not well served. We waited 30mins at Le jardin for the waitress to come back to take our order, and left after not being served. We advised her the next day but was dismissive again saying sorry and then awkwardly avoided us after this.
Breakfast as Il Boroco was amazing as usual. They were able to cater to coeliacs and had a separate toaster for gf bread. I was a little concerned that the toaster didn t have a warning label to deter other breads from being used. I would like to give this place another chance however I will wait a while before that happens.

Went there for our honeymoon,Pros: Stunning interior decor in the lobby area, quiet and peaceful hotel..Cons: We have a deluxe king room which was quiet mediocre, no wow factor to it at all, the seafood buffet was ok just like any other gold coast resort as there was not many varieties and selections, the pool area has an adult section which was not very private at all, you can see and hear kids and families everywhere as they all have to walk pass the adult pool area to get into the lobby, very slow service to serve food and drink in the pool area, astonishingly staff has not much ideas of hotels facilites, so overall i wouldnt go there again as its not worth the price at all, I'd rather be in the Gold coast Marriott if i am given a choice . I cant see how so many people love this hotel as i travel a lot worldwide and enjoy staying in many 5 star resorts , this one didnt really do it for us at all as we were very dissapointed with the room which was very basic, the marble design was gorgeous but the rest needs an update , it felt very old and plain and my opinion didnt really reflect the Versace brand

Customer service: 1/5

Customer service: 1/5
Rooms: 4.5/5
Pool bar: 1/5
Restaurant: 3/5

In terms of customer service, this was definitely the worst attribute of this hotel. In my experiences I've never seen such bad customer service. There are only about three people that provide 5 star customer service in this place (the guy at the front door, the receptionists & the restaurant cleaner). The pool bar employees told us we can't pre-book cabanas we have to book them in the morning on the same day, so we went to do that and we were told "sorry, the cabanas are all pre-booked over night". I don't understand why we weren't told that we can pre-book, we clearly communicated that we were keen for a cabana.

I went to order drinks for us from the bar and the employee stalled me, then said "I can just give you the drinks now they are ready". I had to wait so he doesn't bring the drinks out to us, I thought I am the one that can be lazy on my holidays not the person that's actually getting paid for work. We all work and get paid, but usually in the good case scenario, when you are lazy you are told to pick up the slack, not encouraged by your manager to be more lazy.

In addition to the rude cleaning staff that we came across in the lift, we pressed the down button but apparently he was going "UP", which is what he literally screamed at us with.

The food in the restaurant is not bad, I hope that at least stays the same and doesn't change.

At this point, apart from the indoor restaurant, the lovely decoration and the beautiful people in reception and by the front door, I am not sure why else I would waste my holiday on this "5 star" hotel rather than any other 4-star hotels.. I'd probably get better customer service in the 4 star hotels.. or if I don't I can't complain because they are not meant to provide a 5 start service.

Overall, this affects tourism in Australia. If one of the top 5-star hotels that costs an arm and a leg to travel to and stay in has this kind of customer service, then why would foreigners come to holiday here.. it's a ticking time bomb. Soon enough this place will be deserted.

I have previously reviewed this hotel here a week ago with my terrible experience during the visit. Since then I have written to the hotel once using the enquiry form on their official website and once on their Facebook page. I have not heard any replies since.
I can see the owner of the page has replied to some positive reviews on Google only. Utterly disappointed. If you care about your customers, you should attend to all enquiries not just the positive ones.

We visited for High Tea which was served in the bar area in the main foyer. The service was impeccable and our waitress was attentive and gave a detailed explanation of all the items included. The food was beautifully served and delicious. The surroundings opulent and elegant. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and felt very pampered. We stayed several hours and never felt hurried. Highly recommend

At the north end of the tourist mecca that is Gold Coast, located away from that strip, lies The Versace.
Marble overload and grandeur like no other, the place speaks volumes of what its core purpose is. It envelopes you in the most luxurious of suites, it feeds you in its lavishly appointed restaurants with food to match. It spoils you endlessly and helps makes you believe you are not out of place there.
The staff are trained to deliver the service expected of The Versace and are always helpful and courteous without being to regimented. All the dining options are superb with faultless service and the highest standard of cuisine. At breakfast, Gina, who has been present on our many visits runs a great service with well trained colleagues.
Go on, give it a go! Your worth the spoil.

All but the pool/lagoon rooms are straight onto a busy street or back of restaurant which means either traffic noise, or delivery/garbage trucks. We asked to be moved to a quieter room, and they charged a $50 surcharge!
Place is aged. Lobby area and pool is nice.
Come for high tea instead and save the $400+ per night - worst value we've ever experienced.

It was HORRIBLE!!!
the worst service we were walking and the there were two doormen that didn t even offer to help us with our luggage and we were struggling and then they had troubles finding our room and the food was very poor and disgusting I highly recommend that you should not ever book there the most expensive hotel with the poorest service

The hotel of jungle campers. My dear Schollie, what a hotel. The rooms terrific, a spa area worthy of its name.
Everything about this hotel is great, as is the whole city. Be sure to look when you are in Australia. The hotel has actually earned 6 stars. There is a lot of effort on the part of the guest. And that's good.

I'm gonna comment on the buffet only because I didn't sleep there. Tge buffet is pretty alright if we look at the variety, but in itself, the food is tasteless most of the time, and it isn't worth the price at all. However, the staff was the best I've ever had in a luxury restaurant, hands down, always here to fill in my glass of water, real fast to change the plates and cutleries, always smiling. The place is just amazing and beautiful the pool side is incredible and the atmosphere is pretty luxurious and shows Versace s luxury image. It is very unfortunate that the food isn't flowing with that vibe.

Amazing!

Lovely place, grand location, perfect for a romantic weekend away, business trip, family getaway or a quick overnight stress free visit.
Staff are overly helpful. Amenties are excellent. Rooms are well appointed and a decent size.

Restaurants are lovely but on the high side regarding value for money.

Came here for a birthday lunch and would highly recommend the restaurant (can't comment on the hotel at this stage). Staff service was excellent and catered for all requests. We were the only booking that day so effectively had the Seafood Buffet lunch to ourselves.

Quality of seafood and desserts were amazing. Buffet included - oysters, prawns, crab, confit duck, fish, shepherds pie, roast beef, charcuterie items, cheeses and various desserts. I would recommend going on the Saturday night as I understand they ordinarily have the Moreton Bay Bugs available that night. The Bugs themselves were bigger than buffets I've been to (Thyme2, Marriott GC). The wait staff service was knowledgeable and attentive. Complimentary parking under the hotel is available for restaurant bookings - located about 50m up from the main entrance. Would recommend the restaurant - good food, good service in an opulent setting.

A wonderful hotel with very friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

As Brits, we were drawn by the link to the tv show I m a Celebrity, Get me Outta Here , but the hotel became so much more than that.

We had a gorgeous afternoon tea overlooking the pool area. The pool is huge, stretching 65m if I remember rightly. We had a gorgeous view over the pool with our balcony opening up.

Would definitely recommend a stay here.
