Literally told me to shut up and be with quiet because other patients were in here.
Literally told me to shut up and be with quiet because other patients were in here.
I was in the pediatric ER not too long ago, when I told my on call doctor that I had an inflamed nerve on that particular arm. She heard what I said, but overlooked it and continued to put the IV in my bad arm. Throughout the whole time I was there my whole arm was numb.
Horrible service. They are a partnership so of you have health insurance i.e Masshealth good luck getting proper care for you and your children. Very very unsympathetic!!!!
I went to the Waltham campus Wednesday February 15th. 1st at registration the chair had arms and was so tight(I'm 6 foot 2, 20 pounds overweight, not wide at all) when I sat down my android phone belt holster snapped off. There's 20 bucks I really didn't need to spend right now. I'm 51 and came in for penicillin for a broken tooth. I've probably been to the hospital emergency room a dozen times for the same reason. Before doctors started treating everyone like potential junkies (what's wrong, doctors fall below lawyers for most hated profession and you just had to take back the top spot) I used to get percocet and pennicillian on the spot and a script for both, I don't mind not getting the percocet although a welcome addition to my first aid kit. I dont know why, but everywhere except Lahey Clinic, if I'm talking to a doctor as a rule of thumb, I find I have to repeat myself 1 time for every year of school past a bachelors degree. The customer service level nosedives after more than 4 years of college. So I said to the doctor 3 times and I counted. "I've been given pennicillian in the past and it works great, I dont want anything else" I go from level 10 pain to zero in about 20 minutes. Then doctor jill claire jacovitz tells me I'm getting clindamycin so my opinion doesn't count or she doesn't have the listening skills of an illegal alien speaking broken english. I'm sure this crap costs alot, while pennicillian is 13 bucks full price and I'm on masshealth at this time, so mass taxpayers are paying the difference in price between what works and what doesn't, 6 hours later I'm still in pain. On a scale of 1 to 10, I want to stab somebody in the face, hmm, we'll call that a 12. It amazes me that the Lahey Clinic management style hasn't crushed these throwbacks to the 1950s Soviet Union yet. My previous visit to the main hospital 3 months ago went quite well 5 stars
Waiting room was crazy had to wait like 2 hours with four people in front of me then when I got into the room they was blood on the floor.
The good thing the nurses and everybody there were very friendly.
Now I go to Lahey Medical Center which is very clean. Little bit more of a drive, but it is worth it.
Thank you so much for taking care of my beautiful family Dr. Gosling We appreciate the prompt care that you gave us
Went into the Emergency room at 8:45 on a Sunday night, and came out 3 hours later still with no information about my injury... I had x-rays and they said nothing in my wrist looked broken, however the next day I went to Children's Hospital, and within 2 hours, I was looked at with more x-rays and left with a cast and a broken wrist. Newton Wellesley gave wrong information and told me nothing was broken when something was broken. Poor service, and very dirty as well.
My family and I are so thankful for the care my father was given by the doctors, nurses and patient care attendants who took care of my dad when he arrived in the ER and while while he was on floor 4 West and then the last 2 days of his life on floor 6 USEN. From the time he arrived in the ER until the last day of his life, I will be forever grateful for the care and compassion towards my dad and my family given by the staff.
The 6 USEN staff of Annie, Andrew, Sue, Scott, Marilyne, Marilyn, Max, Savannah and Dr. Zacks took care of my family and dad in his last 48 hours of life. They brought in a portable bed for me to sleep on since I stayed with my dad overnight and complimentary trays of coffee and snacks. They made sure my dad was clean and comfortable. From the the time my dad arrived in the ER to his last day all that we came in contact with made a very difficult situation bearable. He died peacefully. Thanks again.
I wish I could give -10 star. The worst hospital you can imagine.
We have been there for the birth of our two children. We have received very good care from the staff there. The doctors are good, the nurses are wonderful.
This hospital however, has the WORST billing department. We were fully insured and received bills from the hospital, and paid them promptly. The billing department keeps sending us bills; threatening collection. I sent them the CASHED CHECKS--- and they still send us bills. I don't know how people can be so incompetent-- especially in this day of electronic records.
Only hospital I will go to Newton Wellesley is one of the best
After many visits of getting subpar medical services and crass assumptions placed upon me by largely the physicians, I refuse to go to this hospital for anything. One doctor made the assumption that I was drug-seeking when I asked for a prescription for a pain med : I m not prescribing you a narcotic. I can only assume it was because I m poor.
I brought my 10 month old son to the ER. they made me wait 4 hours after checking in to see the first doctor. The baby was starving and crying for hours. No one cares. Then they had me stay over 15 hours mainly waiting for the doctors to say I am good to go home. So careless.
excellent medical care....doctors are knowledgeable and compassionate!
I LOVE NEWTON WELLESLEY HOSPITAL! I delivered two daughters there while living in Norwood. I have a third on the way. I am now driving from Falmouth to Newton for appts. Falmouth Hospital does NOT allow VBAC's as do most hospitals on the cape and surrounding areas. I had a VBAC once and I WILL do it again. No hospital liability will make a decision for me how I will deliver my babies. Newton Wellesley is awesome and Wellesley Womens Care is the best. ALL the doctors are great! I'm driving and hour and a half each way for my right to choose VBAC.
The only complaint I have so far is that sometimes it's hard to make an appointment when it's needed urgently. Other than that, my experience with NWH is usually between 4 and 5 (out of 5). Overall, good job.
the emergency room here was slow and the employees there are more akin to a hotel concierge (if you want he best falafel place ask them) than someone who could answer your hospital questions.
when told it would 'be only a few minutes' spirits rose. 2.5 hours later and still sitting.
We were visiting from Florida and had to make an unexpected visit to the ER. We had a very positive experience. Amy in the ER was excellent as well as Jen and Liz in the PACU. The cardiology doctors did an excellent job. The care was top notch. Thank you, Newton-Wellesley ER Dept!
A little slow attention, dealing with an emergency ...
I am an MD with no prior experience at NWH. I underwent a hip replacement there in April 2016 by Dr. Bedair. The overall experience was superb in all regards -- from surgical outcome to nursing, PT, OT, admin, facilities -- truly world-class.
Horrific experiences. From inaccurate billing to constant scheduling issues. This hospital is a dumpster fire.
At an out patient appointment today in the imaging dept. Gentleman at the desk is a gem! Courteous, interested in helping everyone. Asking if one thinks they're waiting too long. Constantly on the move & loving his job! I love it! Thank you!
Having a severe asthma attack and I haven t been seen in an hr+! This ER is pathetic!!!
RUDE MATERNITY RECEPTIONIST . Not helpful. almost like she hated her job!!!!! bad reflection on this hospital ..Found out later she was rude to several people for the same delivery... would refer to the BRIGHAM OR MGH NEXT TIME!!!!!!!!!!
Took my 2yr old daughter to the emergency room for a substantial laceration to her hand. Before bringing her in we were able to stop the bleeding and wrap the wound properly with an emergency kit we had at home. Our daughter is very well behaved in public places and was excellent in the waiting room. This apparently was our problem. My wife and I watched countless other patients called in ahead of us, even those who checked in after us. After 3 hours of waiting we decided to leave. Lesson learned. I'm confident if she remained crying and I kept the original bloody wraps on her she would have been seen. I understand hospitals can get busy, however any respectable operation should notify clients/patients of a realistic wait time. I'm a father of 3 and therefore have enough emergency room knowledge to validate this experience.
I was born here in 1953! My mother almost gave birth to me in the car ride from Franklin. I was actually born in the ER. We got the best treatment available, and I've always loved this place!
Exceptional care on every level! Everyone I encountered was kind, courteous and respectful. Highly recommend.
My dad was rushed here in December of 2007 he had a heart attack. The Doctors and the nurses all said he would be fine, then he had a stroke and passed away! For months after my fathers death the Newton- Wellesley Hostpital kept sending me a bill for $275.00 They wanted money for letting my dad die! HOW DARE YOU?
Took my daughter to the ER for an appendicitis evaluation on her doctor's recommendation (after-hours). After 6 hours (5 hours of that was just waiting) the doctor came in and told us "everything looks fine", so we left. However, when we got home, the paperwork (which they only give you when you're walking out) said that they were unable to actually view the appendix during the ultrasound and can't rule out appendicitis. This is very different than "everything looks fine", and potentially dangerous, which was the doctor's exact words. If she had been more truthful with us I would have had numerous questions for her and we might not have left without more tests. The whole experience was awful. Would not go back to NW ER again.
Had a knee replacement everything was perfect, day staff very attentive and alert and professional.
Night time staff is a nightmare, each time it took an hour to get cold pack or pain meds.
I opted to check out a day earlier to avoid spending another night at the hospital.
Great Response and care on the Emergency Room, Dr. Korinow and his team, I came in and they were fabulous- consistently checked in to let me know what they thought it was, explained why and the medicine behind it clearly, and then when they'd done all the elimination tests they communicated really well. a BIG thank you!
Wonderful hospital with good doctors and nurses... just not enough of them working the ER... the last three times we came here for an emergency we waited over two hours (with our kids!!!). Probably best to go to children s hospital or MGH where the wait time is better.
Weeks after Newton-Wellesley scheduled my orthopedic surgery and 1 day after their anesthesiologist called for the final pre-surgical medical history, all of a sudden they remembered they had stopped accepting my insurance last year and canceled the procedure. Aside from the organizational incompetence this suggests, as my insurance is specifically designed for elders of limited means, excluding such persons from surgical care is deeply offensive. Fortunately, their are many excellent hospitals in the area who do not subscribe to such exclusion and my surgery has been rescheduled at one of them
I had a phenomenal experience giving birth to my first child at Newton Wellesley in May 2020. Specifically, Susie Littlejohn (my Labor & Delivery nurse) and Sarah Kleinman (the CNM who delivered my son) were the two people who gave me the absolute best day of my life. I ll never forget how they handled my going from a 2 on a 10-point pain scale to a whopping 10 in virtually 60 minutes it s a blur because my eyes were closed and I was in labor land, but I remember both Susie and Sarah holding my hands, telling me we were going to get through the next contraction together, doing everything they could to keep me grounded during indescribable pain. They made me feel safer and more supported than I ever thought possible. I had planned an unmedicated birth but ended up more or less begging for the epidural not only did they not make me feel weak for making this decision, but they actually made me feel empowered. It was my choice, they said. Everything was my choice.
This didn t even feel like I was delivering in a hospital it felt like something else entirely. Thank you so much, Susie. Thank you, Sarah. I ll never be able to repay you. I was so scared to deliver a baby during COVID-19, so scared we were no longer able to bring our doula, but you gave me everything I needed and more. Thank you, thank you. I ll never forget you.
I was recently a patient at the emergency room and I would like to thank all those who cared for me (Colleen, Gabe, Anita, Jill, two physicians whose names I don't remember, They couldn't have been more professional, kind, gentle, positive and supportive.
The staff on 3 West were also wonderful as well.
My thanks to Dr. Bailen and the GI staff who conducted the procedure making my experience relaxing and positive. Thanks to all.
Peter E. O'Neill
Emergency room / facilities quite dirty although I came in at a time when there was no rush. Very long unexplainable waits to be seen. Winchester H. seems better in both regards.
Newton-Wellesley Hospital and Partners Healthcare appear to suffer from a lack of morals as well a shameful degree of greed.
I received multiple bills following a stay at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. At the time, there was a lot going on in my life and I just assumed they were billing me appropriately so I just paid what was requested. However, the bills just kept on coming, and I finally came to my senses and contacted my insurance company. They said that because Newton-Wellesley is in-network for me, they have a contract, and Newton-Wellesley/Partners Healthcare is absolutely *not* allowed to bill me for the difference between their desired payment amount and what their contract with the insurance company pays them.
Furthermore, my insurance company representative was very firm when she told me that the hospital *knows* they are not allowed to do this. This means the hospital uses deliberately misleading language on the bills: the bills say "Your insurance has processed this claim and has determined that you are responsible for the balance. Prompt payment for your portion of services is appreciated." I assume this is meant to try to keep you from calling your insurance company to verify things. My insurance company representative said that the last part of the first sentence ("[your insurance] has determined that you are responsible for the balance") is absolutely false, and that I should never have a "portion of services" that I need to pay for.
Shame on you, Newton-Wellesley and Partners Healthcare. If I hadn't received yet another bill out of nowhere almost 8 months after my hospitalization, it might not even have occurred to me to check with my insurance company because I simply assumed you were operating appropriately and ethically. I wonder how many other people you have tricked into paying you. I have told my family and friends and I will post this on every review site I can. I am beyond disappointed in how you operate.
Excellent care - staff was highly professional. Greeted at the door of ER, quickly processed thru registration. Pleasant waiting area. When scope of problem was assessed they got me into a specialist right away.
Very good hospital with all facilities available for infants and adults. Very helpful staff and Doctors. Comfortable rooms. Very neat and clean. Cafeteria is available. Ample parking available.
I have had nothing but excellent care at Newton Wellesley Hospital. The resources of all types, when you are dealing with cancer, are numerous and top notch. Thank you to the wonderful doctors, nurses and all the staff
at NWH.
They saved my life when I had a pulmonary embolism at end of pregnancy. First class care for over 50 years.
I come to emergency room in severe pain couldn't move my shoulder my arm the pain was horrible I was waiting in emergency room for 3 hours in so much pain no one even ask me if I was ok or if I need anything at all I had very bad experience I will never come back here again ever that's was very bad no one cares about ur pain everybody so rude at front desk it's redicoulos still waiting I didn't even went inside the room yet why the call it emergency room if u in lot pain u have to wait 4 hours
We came to visit my wife's grandmother on 2/17/19 in room 451 between 3 and 6 PM. The doctor, nurse and the nurse's assistant came in shortly after we arrived to relay some information about her diagnosis and condition. They gave her some needed medication and helped to order her some lunch.
Thank you and good work.
We had a very positive experience in this hospital and highly recommend it.
Waited 25 min while my Uncle was yelling for juice and had to explain to 4 nurses what he needed. Just for juice!! Horrible staff and not ONE staff member came in to ask how he was doing
My daughter injured her foot at basketball practice late last night. While I was apprehensive going to an ER during the pandemic, I was immediately put at ease. There were definitely worse reasons that could have brought us to the ER, but I want to shout out to the staff at the ER last night. They were friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and did their very best to ensure my daughter was not in pain and understood her injury. Thank you for being heros! The Yozzo family appreciates your dedication to providing exceptional care each and every day. (Even at midnight :)
IT TOOK US 2 AND HALF HOURS TO TAKE MY BLOOD PRESSEURE BECAUSE EVERYTHING WAS TAKING SO LONG
Awesome nurses, MDs, entire staff: efficient, responsive, friendly, intelligent, compassionate. The food was even decent. It s like the Ritz Carlton of hospitals. Choose it over others nearby. Extremely highly recommended.
I see the best rheumatologist there Dr. Robert Friday. He has been there for me whenever I need him! I have alot of complicated problems and he does everthing to get to get the right Drs or treatment to handle my issues. This hospital has the most professional kind Drs and nurses and even down to the ladies when you come in the door...Amazing Hospital...and I have an Amazing Dr in Dr. Friday! He IS THE BEST
Kind, helpful and VERY Professional, I'd recommend this hospital any day!!
ER wait is the worst. After triage, still waiting almost 3 hours to see anybody. No wonder Urgent Care facilities are getting all their business.
Lied to and left out in the cold after being a patient for years!!!! Still waiting for a phone call from the orthopedic department. I will not blame any doctor but the PA and office staff. Injections for my knees were authorized October 8th. I was called once in this time and told I would be called shortly. To this day, I have not been called. I have suffered enough and have started the process to look for another doctor. I am saddened and disgusted by my treatment after so many years!!!!
Consistently arguing with patients, not providing suffice care
My favorite person ever was born at this hospital so thank you Newton-Wellesley Hospital !
I had my first baby there back in January so I honestly wasn't sure what to expect as a first time mom.
My contractions started 1/5 at around 3 AM. Nothing too bad. As the day went on they were getting stronger but as a precaution, I called my OBGYN's office and I was told to go to the hospital since I was timing them and they were fairly close together.
My husband and I checked-in around noon. We didn't wait very long for a Friday afternoon. They hooked me up the the monitor and sure enough I was in early labor. Once I was checked more throughly, they determined I was only 1 CM. I was told I could be like this for hours or days but to just keep breathing. They also told me I would "just know" and they sent me back home. We were really sad at this point and I was in pretty bad pain.
Hours go by and I'm basically laboring at home because I was fearful of being sent home again. Finally at 4 AM on 1/6, my pain was so awful, my husband called my Dr.
and luckily she was working that shift so she said to come in.
Now if you're unaware, the hospital's West Wing is closed until 7 AM so you have to enter through the East Wing where the ER is located. So my husband walks me through the door to sit me down and NOT a single soul was working the ER desk. After parking the car, he tried calling out for someone, crickets. He tried looking for a wheelchair, NOPE. I had to pretty much crawl my way to the West Wing's elevator to go all the way up to the fifth floor.
Once we got checked in again, I couldn't sit still to check the baby's heartbeat on the monitor so they just decided to check me and I was 8 CM!
I asked for an epidural and was pretty delusional at this time. I never ended up getting it because I couldn't sit still for the life of me.
The Labor and Deliver nurses were really awesome for the 3 hours that I had them, which includes labor and post partum care.
After the baby was here, they tried forcing me to use formula because my baby wasn't "big enough". They made me pump, which is a big no-no the first few weeks. They also kept pricking my baby's foot which I thought was a sugar test, no, it was to test for Jaundice.
Some PP care nurses were really great and helpful. Others not so much.
On our day of check-out, no one helped us or rode me in a wheelchair like you see in the movies. My husband carried the car seat and I had to push the HUGE cart with all our belongings because double parking is pretty terrible in the West Wing.
All in all, if I were to have another child, I will most likely not deliver here.
I have 4 hours awaiting, I got a pain in my groin and all the time I going to ask they tellme I have to wait, that is awful
My granddaughter was born there and the attention of the medical team and nurses was great! Thank you !!!
Understaffed? Spent 3 hours on the waiting room in pain, just to learn that there wasn't an orthopedic specialist on site. No one came to check on me. Total disregard to the human beings waiting there.
I visit the hospital today the worst case front door registration Thursday 11/12/20 930 pm Asian lady with attitude giving bad reputation at my hospital I myself born and raise in Newton never saw one like this woman every move of her with attitude like she don t want to be there I was chock .
Please my good hospital with professional nurses and doctors take care front desk
Great ER experience. The place is immaculate. Staff is terrific. The hospital as a whole just seems very well run.
Recently delivered my baby at Newton-Wellesley and I can t say enough nice things about the Labor and Postpartum department. The Nurses were incredibly helpful, supportive throughout my labor and postpartum and went out of their way to ease my pain and make sure I had a quick and smooth delivery. Extremely satisfied with their services. Such dedication and compassion in what they do ! Kudos and mighty respect to the Labor and Postpartum team, I can t imagine how I would have endured the labor without them, incredibly grateful to the wonderful nurses and technicians. Thank you so much !
Arrived by ambulance, had an ER visit that transitioned into overnight stay T.T
I was not having fun, but the EMTs, ER, nurses and other staff members were friendly, patient and super understanding of my odd condition that I had trouble explaining. They worked as quickly as possible for all testing and let me know the results.
May have been the timing, but of all the times I've been in and out of hospitals and ERs that was the emptiest I've seen it and THE FASTEST I've ever gotten into and out of an emergency room or imaging.
They also helped me figure out how to get home, the way I came wasn't exactly repeatable.
Overall a great experience. Dianne was our first midwife and was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly loving to my wife during her labor. She was accompanied by our first nurse Deborah Vlass. She left much to be desired but she got the job done. She seemed to have an attitude towards our doula and was even rude to her a few times.
Since my wife's labor was about 26 hours, we had a new midwife that relieved Dianne named Lillian and 2 new nurses named Yana and then Lauren. Both nurses were awesome and super sweet. However Lillian our midwife was... just ok. She was absent during important times, passive aggressive many times and was no where near as supportive as Dianne was. They even lost some papers we signed before our delivery and made my wife read and sign them in the middle of her labor. Might I add my wife at the time was having a natural birth! Not very professional!
Lillian was ultimately the midwife to deliver our baby and at that moment she did a good job I believe.
If I had to soley rate the labor and delivery unit it would get 3 stars.
As for the Maternity Ward, 5 stars all around!!!
The nurses were so helpful, professional, considerate etc. Mary Anne was amazing and always went above and beyond. To be honest the whole department was a joy. They really turned our experience at Newton Wellesley around for us and made our stay enjoyable.
PLEASE AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COST! Even if your hand is cut off, use the other hand to drive to another hospital.
I was sent to the Newton Wellesley ER by an ambulance last month because I thought I had a life threatening condition. I slept on their bed for 2 hours, hooked up with regular heart monitor, received some saline through IV, and had a regular blood test, and then I recovered by myself without receiving any medications.
Do you know how much did they charge me?
$6674.00
$6674.00 for basically nothing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a break down bill though my insurance company. It includes a $641 dollars for saline and probably some glucose solution, about $1 per second on average.
The regular blood test costs $412.00.
About $2000 for the doctors, who spent at most 20 minutes in total on my case. Thus I suppose they're making $6000 per hour, or more than 1 million per year. I think I should submit my application to a medical school right here right now.
For renting their room for 2 hours, the cost is $3602, or $43224 per day. I can rent a ballroom in Mandarin Oriental in Boston with that money.

I always thought hospitals are all wonderful people who helps the weak. Instead, the Newton-Wellesley Hospital bullies and robs people at their most helpless moment. Every time I think about how this hospital takes advantage of their patients in emergency, I just can't help feeling sad and depressed. My face was smiling while making jokes about the bill, my heart is bleeding actually. It was worse than the day I knew Santa Claus was not real: the hospital robs patients while they're too sick to resist.
The facilities are nice and clean and the elevators worked.
I ve been a patient with Newton Wellesley since I was a child. I love every doctor I ve seen. They ve all been very knowledgeable and I ve had no issues. I ve had multiple surgeries and they ve all been smooth.
My baby girl was born here 13 years ago and I still value the Best experience I had in this wonderful hospital.
I came in with a positive covid infection. I stated that and they took me into the ER waiting area like nothing did not separate me. Told me to sit down while I waited to be seen. There was absolutely nowhere I could sit that wasn t right next to other patients waiting to be seen. The fact that I was more worried than the staff about exposing anyone is telling and worrisome. A lot of elderly in the waiting area I tried my best to sit in a corner away from everyone although not really any room to do that, I was totally shocked.
longest wait of my life! An absolute waste of my time but I guess that it is this hospital policy to take your insurance info have you lay in bed, no IV nothing just hand you the T.V remote and three movies later still waiting for urine test results then send you home. I was in the waiting area for 5 hours on top of another 7 hours after while they milked my medical insurance... go to another hospital where you life and pain actually matters!
This is a great place and out standing hospital. God Bless
I can't say enough good things about the care I received at Newton-Wellesley hospital. I had surgery and was very impressed with how thorough the doctors were during my pre-op consultation. I could definitely tell I was in the best hands and it calmed my nerves before I had my operation. On the day of my surgery everyone made me feel so comfortable and the team who operated all came in and introduced themselves and explained their role in the procedure. I recently went for my post-op follow up and my surgeon, Dr. Isaacson, went through all of his findings in detail and I can't say enough about how much I appreciated that. I am so grateful to have had him perform my surgery and I know it was the best decision I could have made for my health situation. I highly recommend Newton Wellesley Hospital and Dr. Isaacson and his team! They are the best!
Have always had an exceptional care and been treated by exceptional doctors here. Love the new renovations as well. My top hospital of choice.
Last night we needed to take our 10 yr-old to the ER for a laceration on his head. He asked that I go online and review the hospital. :) The entire staff was top-notch from reception to discharge. They were great with kids too. Very comforting but honest. They put us all at ease. Highly recommend. My son said to give the PA Gabe 5 stars.
I was left in post-op at 11 am. I had a two hr spinal surgery that started 9am and ended at 11am. . This was my 3rd back surgery so not my first rodeo. Previous 2 were in Atlanta. 8:30pm ish I was STILL in post-op recovery bc I was hypotensive. The nurse was unable to get me stabilized the entire day. The nurse refused to get cardiac involved from 11 am until mid evening for medication to increase by BP. I was laying there sobbing while the nurse was playing games on her cell phone. At one point she said to me I can t believe all my friends are texting me right me while I m working! I was sobbing in agony from not having pain medication for multiple hours from a huge surgery. During my stay in the hospital they were never able to get my pain under control. I explained one pain medication never worked in my two previous surgeries. So after 2-3 days they finally switched to morphine which worked in last two surgeries in Atlanta. We informed the pre-op team of all of this. We also explained that me being on daily pain meds I am difficult to manage my pain. My doctor wanted to give me Tramadol which does nothing when I take much stronger medications from my pain clinic. NOBODY WOULD LISTEN TO ME. I also found the nurse going thru my personal belonging. I was on my cell phone explaining to my husband what was happening. She was standing outside my hospital room eaves dropping then she had the nerve to come back in and in while I was on my phone crying and yell at me about listening to my private conversation. Also this hospital violated my HIPPA RIGHTS. I never signed a medical release to speak with my other physicians treating my chronic back pain. Obviously I don t mind then them communicating to have the best care possible but HIPPA RIGHTS are there to protect the patient. These are just a few things from my experience. Every time they had to move me to use stand up commode (toilet) I was screaming out loud which the entire floor could hear. Please think twice before having neurosurgery at this hospital.
Went to ER for abdominal pain, because it was close, I ended up staying 6 nights. It was a good experience, and I felt well cared for by doctors, nurses and everyone I encountered. I will definitely choose Newton-Wellesley for future hospitalizations.
I was in the MRI Department with my wife, dealing with a woman named Cindy, whom was extremely rude to my wife. She was visibly upset during & after we left the hospital. I'm not sure if it's because she's mad at her looks or if that's just her personality (which shouldn't be in a hospital where ppl are already grieving & going thru hard times) .. she was unprofessional, rude, & seemed extremely bitter .. this woman needs to be spoken to, by upper management, because she treats patients with an awful attitude & it came to the point where my wife & I had to walk out - we won't be returning to Newton Wellesley Hospital - my wife was visibly upset, before we got there, nvm after how this woman treated her & that's why I don't have a problem saying that this woman is a hefty, miserable, & unprofessional employee .. she should think about her health, considering the career path she's chosen.
If you have do it, great place for hip replacement! Good people, good food.
imagine life problems for everything what ever who are I'm struggling strength full wiring my duties, winemakers but I like my staffing keeping responsibility's and respect everyone ...!!!
Last summer, I went to Newton Wellesley Hospital to checking after a motor vehicle accident. Upon my arrival, the front desk lady was flipping magazine, did not notice my presence until the officer called her- the triage nurse comments were sarcastic, even though she can clearly noticed blood dripping on my legs. The nurse assigned to my care, questioned my motives before giving care. Then, she suggested tetanus shots because of multiple lacerations on my leg. Then stepped out to consult with the physician. She came back with a seringe with a needle , she asked which arm? ( she quickly grabbed my arm ,poked me before II could answer) while she poked me, she revealed it wasTDAP vaccine. When asked why, she vaguely replied and said people neglected their vaccine she also said it s a public issue. When I insisted, she said that s how the vaccine came. I have to admit the physicain assigned to my care was the person I trusted- he explained my condition professionally with care.
The nurse did not bother giving a fact sheet after the shot, nor she gave me A visit summary and follow up instruction. I have been having terrible pain on the my arm the past 6 weeks, due to the shot- I called to follow up, the nurse , again was rude and not inviting.
Very impressed with the quality of care and customer service at the Breast Center. My doctor spent at least 45 minutes with me going over my history and risks, explaining everything. The nursing staff are also really kind and professional. Compared to my old imaging experience this was next level. Highly recommend!
Do not go here. Their staff will charge you for tests you don t ask for. I am a 32 year old male that got charged for a PSA test I explicitly asked not to have done. If you go here be prepared to file complaints and disputes with your health insurance.
I had a procedure done under anesthesia by my doctor in Newton Wellesly hospital, there were serious complications, I had to return later in the day to the E.R. I was billed for over $2000. Their story-Yes, the hospital does take my insurance, but no, the e.r. doctors don't take my insurance. It is my responsibility to verify which e.r. doctors take my insurance before letting them into my room, or allowing them to examine me in the e.r.! YES! This is what the billing department told me!
And again, this past spring-had an appointment with a specialist-they said they will accept my insurance, got billed again, and now they're saying that yes, while they do accept my insurance, they are not covered by it!!??? There is a difference....accepting insurance, and being covered by insurance means two different things to the physicians office.
In conclusion-when you go to NWH, make sure, first- that they accept your insurance, second- that your doctor is covered by the same insurance that they accept, and third-that your responsibility is your co-pay and not the visit. It's splitting hairs I know, but in my case it's added to over 5k in bills.....and it's how the doctors are raking it in before the OBAMACARE takes affect.
This is the worst hospital. Can't get anyone to answer the phone . Finally you get someone and they put you on hold right way for 30 min literally no kidding and she get back on the phone and she is like call back after 1:30 every one is on lunch !!!! So why the hell you answer the phone on the first place!!
My mom had pneumonia and was admitted to the ER.
Dr. Kristin Cox took very good care of her. She is a caring and supportive doctor. We highly recommend her!
We were also lucky to have a nice and sensitive nurse Kate woods.
So Disappointed & Deflated... LITERALLY!!! After having a successful gastric bypass surgery, where I lost 140 pounds, I had the typical cosmetics concerns that come with losing that much weight so quickly. I asked my Gastric Surgeon if he could recommend a Cosmetic Surgeon that he knew & trusted to help me with the next steps of my journey. He promptly gave me Dr. Davidson's office information to contact for a consult appointment. This is where everything goes sour... Procedure 1. Excess skin removed from lower abdomen. I am not SO concerned about the scar that goes from hip to hip & appears to have stopped in a very awkward spot ... BUT I am upset about the 3 inch "wings" I have on the sides of each hip. It looks like a 3 year old tried to wrap a Christmas gift using too much paper at each end, poorly folded the excess paper over and used a ton of tape to cover it up. I am NOT exaggerating... 3 inch wings on each hip that are clearly visible even with clothes on. Procedure 2. Breast Reduction & Breast Lift - VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Before surgery I had a DD cup size and due to the weight lose they hang low, had loss shape & firmness. During the initial consult, I expressed my desire to reduce the cup size to a "small C cup" as well as lift the breast to attain a "Perky" appearance. Dr. Davidson stated he was confident he would be able to achieve the request as it was not an unreasonable request. HOWEVER, after surgery both of my breasts look like 2 half filled water balloons hanging down, bulbous at the bottom and narrow at the top. Procedure 3. Breast Implants. The right Implant is placed so high towards my shoulder, so far to the right & not centered at all. It was basically placed in my armpit. Because of this placement, my right breast is completely flat and shows no sign of an implant being present at all unless you look far to the right. The left Implant has settled so low it is midway to the bottom of the above mentioned "water balloon". I have no cleavage because neither implants are placed correctly and both of my breasts are flat. Of course I am able to feel the implants if manually move and push my breast up & down, but that's not what I paid almost $25,000 to accomplish. You are probably asking yourself why didn't I go back to Dr. Davidson to address these issues??? The issues described above are actually the results of a second attempt by Dr. Davidson to fix the poor results of the 1st surgery he had performed 1 month prior. I was obviously not charged by Dr. Davidson for the 2nd surgery. He agreed that the results of the 1st surgery were not optimum, he agreed to make things right and offered to perform the procedures again. BUT........ at my 1 month follow up appointment after the 2nd surgery, again I brought up the VERY VISIBLE & VERY OBVIOUS DEFECTS!!! Dr. Davidson advised me that he would try 1 more time to fix the problems, but it would be at MY EXPENSE!!! REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I could give 0 stars like they give 0 **** I would....worst er on the planet. Go elsewhere unless , you're bored and want to spend 10 hours in the waiting room! However, the er staff is great!!! Once you get in there of course.
Great Hospital. Very important point. This hospital does a fantastic job with general health issues. If you are suffering from a possible heart condition don't hesitate in going there but be prepared to be transported to a Boston hospital for acute care.
I love the place, my dad works there and I was born there. By the way i'm in French class!
One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was taking my daughter to Newton Wellesley Hospital. We sat for 6 hours to see 3 people. The Dr was dismissive ( saw her for all of 5 minutes). The nutritionist advised a vegan to start eating meat , and the psychologist was mean, and cruel. The absolute lack of compassion was astounding.
If you need to go to a hospital, go somewhere, anywhere else.Take the extra time and go to Boston. Iguarantee they are much more compassionate and empathetic there than at this place.
