Overall a great experience. Dianne was our first midwife and was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly loving to my wife during her labor. She was accompanied by our first nurse Deborah Vlass. She left much to be desired but she got the job done. She seemed to have an attitude towards our doula and was even rude to her a few times.
Since my wife's labor was about 26 hours, we had a new midwife that relieved Dianne named Lillian and 2 new nurses named Yana and then Lauren. Both nurses were awesome and super sweet. However Lillian our midwife was... just ok. She was absent during important times, passive aggressive many times and was no where near as supportive as Dianne was. They even lost some papers we signed before our delivery and made my wife read and sign them in the middle of her labor. Might I add my wife at the time was having a natural birth! Not very professional!
Lillian was ultimately the midwife to deliver our baby and at that moment she did a good job I believe.
If I had to soley rate the labor and delivery unit it would get 3 stars.

As for the Maternity Ward, 5 stars all around!!!
The nurses were so helpful, professional, considerate etc. Mary Anne was amazing and always went above and beyond. To be honest the whole department was a joy. They really turned our experience at Newton Wellesley around for us and made our stay enjoyable.
