Last summer, I went to Newton Wellesley Hospital to checking after a motor vehicle accident. Upon my arrival, the front desk lady was flipping magazine, did not notice my presence until the officer called her- the triage nurse comments were sarcastic, even though she can clearly noticed blood dripping on my legs. The nurse assigned to my care, questioned my motives before giving care. Then, she suggested tetanus shots because of multiple lacerations on my leg. Then stepped out to consult with the physician. She came back with a seringe with a needle , she asked which arm? ( she quickly grabbed my arm ,poked me before II could answer) while she poked me, she revealed it wasTDAP vaccine. When asked why, she vaguely replied and said people neglected their vaccine she also said it s a public issue. When I insisted, she said that s how the vaccine came. I have to admit the physicain assigned to my care was the person I trusted- he explained my condition professionally with care.
The nurse did not bother giving a fact sheet after the shot, nor she gave me A visit summary and follow up instruction. I have been having terrible pain on the my arm the past 6 weeks, due to the shot- I called to follow up, the nurse , again was rude and not inviting.
