PLEASE AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COST! Even if your hand is cut off, use the other hand to drive to another hospital.
I was sent to the Newton Wellesley ER by an ambulance last month because I thought I had a life threatening condition. I slept on their bed for 2 hours, hooked up with regular heart monitor, received some saline through IV, and had a regular blood test, and then I recovered by myself without receiving any medications.
Do you know how much did they charge me?
$6674.00
$6674.00 for basically nothing.

I have a break down bill though my insurance company. It includes a $641 dollars for saline and probably some glucose solution, about $1 per second on average.
The regular blood test costs $412.00.
About $2000 for the doctors, who spent at most 20 minutes in total on my case. Thus I suppose they're making $6000 per hour, or more than 1 million per year. I think I should submit my application to a medical school right here right now.
For renting their room for 2 hours, the cost is $3602, or $43224 per day. I can rent a ballroom in Mandarin Oriental in Boston with that money.

I always thought hospitals are all wonderful people who helps the weak. Instead, the Newton-Wellesley Hospital bullies and robs people at their most helpless moment. Every time I think about how this hospital takes advantage of their patients in emergency, I just can't help feeling sad and depressed. My face was smiling while making jokes about the bill, my heart is bleeding actually. It was worse than the day I knew Santa Claus was not real: the hospital robs patients while they're too sick to resist.
