Great experience at NWH MIGS with Dr. Loring and staff. A nurse called every day post-surgery for a week to make sure everything was going good and that meant a lot. On call staff responded quickly and helped alieve some post-surgery nausea. Dr. Loring was great - explained everything in detail and was patient in answering all my questions. I highly recommend!

Small Hospital with The Real City Doctors! They are extremely nice - like no one's business. Really nice rooms Love the way they do their menus, food is good. The Ortho patients are treated like rockstars. You have your own room (great size), tv ( lots of channels), A nice pull out couch with your own tv. It's absolutely great. That's my experience, as a daughter whose Mom had a hip revision. (Her MGH Dr works there twice a week)

So I just checked into emergency for being impacted and alerted them that I cannot sit due to excruciating pain after check in where do they direct me yes to sit , ok again when in triage explained to them how uncomfortable it was to sit attached it to a number where does she direct me back to the waiting room to sit when I stated that I would not be sitting and how long would I be standing in the waiting rm she stated she had people waiting in the waiting room with heart pains and it would be about an hour ,when I looked into the waiting room not a soul around for miles scratching my head so here I stand by myself should have taken my chances with web M..D at least I would not be standing

I can't thank the team at Newton-Wellesley enough. I've been to the ER twice with intense abdominal pain, and they were able to figure out what was going on and guide me towards the right direction. I had gallbladder surgery there as well and the process went smoothly. In addition, my husband had an emergency appendectomy there as well. We were both treated very well by every single person there. Great hospital, clean, great staff, great COVID-19 precautions.

Waited over 4 hours in the ER - never going back there ever. I wouldn t bring a dead dog in for treatment. Kept us waiting while she was in extreme pain and bleeding - worst hospital experience ever

Waited in the ER for about 2 hours while my mother in-law had something wrong with her appendix. Then finally gotten a room and the nurses 1) couldn t find her vein to put the IV in and 2) never put an IV in. Mind you my mother in-law is a 62 yrs old women.

Should have went to Mount Auburn.

The emergency wait time is deceiving. Sure triage is quick and you'll be called to the back shortly after triage, but then the true wait begins. Expect 30 minutes before you see a doctor and then pray you get a doctor who will know what he's talking about. Another annoying thing was that because the hospital is a training hospital, medical students come in and ask the same questions and do the same examination. Hope for one of the caring nurses otherwise you will get a nurse who seems pissed that you are bothering her.

I had a knee replacement a little more than a year ago and am only writing this review now because I just found where to write it... My experience was nothing but A-1 all the way. I was happily surprised to learn that all knee replacement patients (and probably others for similar procedures) are private rooms, which I think might be to prevent infection. Works for me, let me tell you. Nurses and medical staff are so very attentive to every need. My doctor was just fantastic and the preparation suggested by the hospital (internet films on the process) was so helpful. The follow-up PT, OT and exercises led to a speedy recovery and I now am free of pain, can move my knee freely and have no after-effects. My scar is a faint vertical line over my knee cap, which I gladly show to anyone. Absolutely the perfect place to go.

I had a major surgery was not given pain meds. When I told the nurse I was being triggered (i'm trauma survivor ) she said "if u know then stop" What do they teach their nurses? Not a good place if you have had a bad experience with hospitals or doctors. When I tried to explain how I felt, I was told "it doesn't matter, we are not interested" Lots of hospitals, go elsewhere .

This by far the worst hospital to go. I entered the ER 4 hours later. They tell me it's based on accute care. Understaffed. They fell off substantially as they were good years back. Run away from this place especially for any surgery. Including the ER which is run by clowns literally. The admin staff should all be fired asap.

in the ER, brought my one year old here because he had a little trouble breathing since he was sick.. doctor was mostly concerned if my son was born in the US or not. when i had already told him once he was born here and heard my mom speaking Spanish, he continued to ask and doubted my son was born here.. then told me I was all set to go and to just give him Tylenol..... I m sorry but last time I checked this is a hospital not immigration??? Should ve gone to Mount Auburn where they actually care for patients.

I took my mother to Newton Wellesly hospital ER this afternoon. After reception checking up (which is pretty quick, only took about 15 -20 min), the next steps are noting but long long waiting: took one hour to see a RN; then took another two hour just to fill a one page form!
To the end, the doctor said to me: an 82 years old woman, who has to be on the wheelchair to move around, is not qualified to be considered as disability .

In pain and angry. I had major surgery and on day 2 when the anesthesia and nerve block wear off, guess what you get for pain? Tylenol and Toradol. don't bother writhing in pain, they don't care They are so proud of their ERAS program, they totally forget the patient. Today I am one week post op and over the weekend I called the on call, they were supposed to at least call in the Toradol for me and forgot, after I asked a friend to get it for me. one saving grace was the pre op suite and nurses and especially my anesthesiologist . other than that, score is ZERO stars

I was admitted via ER and then was hospitalized for over a week following my intake. This was during end of summer of 2020 so Covid pandemic was still an ongoing thing. Everyone, from janitors to doctors (nurses, social workers, security guards, counselors, etc) were truly great. They did everything they could to make my stay there as pleasant as a hospital visit can be. I felt totally safe (albeit be it still worrying at times just because) knowing that all precautionary measures to minimize possible transmision of the virus were implemented and were followed (staff and patients wearing masks/ surfaces disinfected/ hand sanitizer available at multiple locations, etc). One thing that wasn't that great was food, but then again this wasn't a hotel stay.

I had my first baby at Newton Wellesley at the end of January - my experience was amazing - the nurses doctors and staff are so helpful and pleasant! Couldn't have asked for a better experience

The nurses in the impatient wards are fantastic, and when I had to stay here for multiple days I have nothing but praise. The one place they really fall short for me is emergency where they must be terribly understaffed sometimes. It's pretty likely you will have a long wait for any treatment/pain management unless you are having a heart attack or similar.

Not sure what happened to this hospital but it definitely gets worse and worse. I had my baby delivered there on November 1st 2016. I had never seen such a dirty hospital in my entire life. I`ve spent a week in postpartum unit and my linens were NEVER changed and room was extremely dirty. More over some of the nurses were so unprofessional that I was questioning myself if they truly were ever certified. For the hospital with such a good reputation in the past I think it is time to readdress it performance.
I would not recommend this hospital to anybody for delivery and will not come back for my second one for sure.

I got transfered there because of over crowding at MGH. I was really sick and in great pain. First the doctors wanted to stop the pain meds and a nurse came to the rescue. Then they shipped me off to the rehab in hell. I left rehab AMA and went back to MGH. I have been at MGH for almost a month now.
