Weeks after Newton-Wellesley scheduled my orthopedic surgery and 1 day after their anesthesiologist called for the final pre-surgical medical history, all of a sudden they remembered they had stopped accepting my insurance last year and canceled the procedure. Aside from the organizational incompetence this suggests, as my insurance is specifically designed for elders of limited means, excluding such persons from surgical care is deeply offensive. Fortunately, their are many excellent hospitals in the area who do not subscribe to such exclusion and my surgery has been rescheduled at one of them
