VERY PRICEY!!! Property is very clean and well maintained. Staff has been great and very professional. First Responder discount came in very handy. It's not Disney but it sure does put a dent in the wallet.

The room and hotel were clean. The staff was friendly. I would not go there again unless it is a discounted weekday or promotion. Its expensive for what it is. There were limited amenities in the room and I even upgraded to a deluxe family suite with the balcony. The room itself was a decent size. There were a lot of activities available in the hotel for school aged children. A rock wall and rope climbing, a big arcade and magic quest. Most slides required children to be 42 in or taller. My two toddler still had fun in the wave pool, lazy river and two activities areas for kids in the water park.

We arrived around 2:00 for our stay. Our room was ready and we headed to the water park. The water was COLD. Our 2 year old was shivering and blue lipped within 10 minutes. In the room, the master bedroom shower barely worked. Overall I'm really disappointed in the quality for the price.

ETA: this review was before Great Wolf Lodge took over the building. We haven't been since the renovations.

I have nothing good to say about this place at all. It was totally misrepresented on the website. the room was disgusting. when we walked in, it smelled, the coffee table was tipped up against the wall. the tv stand was broken so it was on a permenent tilt. no room service. No cable movies. no pay per view movies. No info in the room about hotel imformation or area attractions and restaurants. nothing about wi fi. the alarm clock in the room was broken. the restaurants were closed because they were slow. not entertainment and a staff that looked bored out of their minds. we tried to leave but were told we would have to pay for the first day anyway even though we had used nothing and they were at 20% occupancy. The water park was horrible. nothing deeper than 3 feet and reeked of chlorine and urine. untrained staff that is rude. biggest waist of money ever. we ended up leaving the next morning and staying at mill creek in lake geneva. for 50$ less per night we had a full kitchen, a two person jacuzzi in the room two flat screen tvs with movie rental in the lobbey, a fireplace with comfy couches and chairs around it and a pool and jacuzzi in a beautiful atrium.

This place is exceptional from arrival until departure. There are numerous activities throughout the facility for anyone at any age! The water park is extremely family friendly and it has slides for every level of swimmers and non-swimmers. The rooms are spacious and comfy, equipt with a nice television and fridge. YouTube is also accessible from the TV. One thing I wasn't too pleased about was the food. It is a bit pricey but it is a resort and a quality one!

Great fun for the family. Plenty of water attractions for the kids to run around of all ages and sizes. The arcade was an added bonus for some dry fun. The food court and bar also offered a variety of treats and beach classics. The rooms were clean and spacious easily fitting a family of four.
*Tip* Avoid the weekends and holidays for overcrowding around the pools.

We stayed one night during Thanksgiving. We dont eat junk food and resort did not informed us a head of time that main restaurant will be closed on that day. No information on their website. So only option was junk food. I expressed my concern, I got sorry . We paid around $300 for one night. I seen better places for that kind of price point. Everything just very expensive. We did not have great experience as family.

Apparently 4pm check in means nothing at this location. Management stated it's not their fault that there is a clause on the website that says they don't have to abide by their rules. She even threatened to call the police on one lady because she was upset about not having a room still at almost 6pm. Guess having a reservation for a room doesn't matter. Thanks for ruining our trip manager Jen from Genoa Wisconsin. You're a great representative of Great Wolf Lodge.

Staff was helpful and almost everyone was friendly. We had a suite but the TV didn't work properly in the kids area. They were quick to respond but by the next day we had the same issue. Waterpark floor was pretty dirty and slimy but everything else was clean. The restaurants we tried were good.

Was there this past weekend with my family and honestly we were very disappointed with this place. Had an issue with their lifeguards. Some don't know how to do their job and ruined the fun for my 3yr old daughter. The toddler area is suppose to be for little kids and you have bigger kids in that area, pushing the little kids out of the way so they can go down the slides and no one doing a damn thing about it. The waterpark is soo small and you're literally ontop of people. The food was expensive and horrible and their drinks are way over priced. The rules state you cant bring your beach towels and have to use their small towels that do nothing for you. Just a very horrible place. Save your money! It honestly wasn't worth the money we spent. Our room had horrible water pressure and you can hear everything! The people are soo rude their (only nice person we met was one of the bartenders) I wouldn't waste my money going back there again. I would give them no stars but that wasn't an option..Be aware if you ever go there and hopefully the people who work there don't ruin your first time there like they did to us.

Great place to have fun with your little ones! My year old loved the little slides they had and he enjoyed the mini Mardi gras parade they had in the lobby. The music was great and he enjoyed that too. He was so exhausted by the end of the night from all the fun! I will definitely be coming back here!

We will not be going back to the Great Wolf Lodge....

We will not be going back to the Great Wolf Lodge. Our experience was terrible! We arrived at 2:30pm to try an early check in but was informed our room wasn't ready and wouldn't be until 4pm. I left my phone # and name was told I would get a text when my room was ready. We were able to enjoy the waterpark while we waited. At 5pm, I got tired of waiting and went to the front desk where I was informed that the room was still not ready and they didn't know when it would be ready. Finally, at 7pm, our room was ready. The room looked nice and the kids thought the Wolf Den bunk beds were awesome. That evening we tried to shower, but all the drains were clogged. I called the front desk and housekeeping 3 times each and let the phone ring until all of the calls ended as a busy tone. I felt bad having the kids shower in a tub and stand on all of the chlorine they were washing off. Then, outlets in the room weren't working. The coffee maker wasn't plugged, so I moved the large stand to plug it in only to find out my hard work was for nothing. Luckily, we only stayed for one night, and it will be our last night.

Devin, the front desk manager, presented himself as the manager and then told me he wouldn t talk to me anymore because I was rude. He was laughing at me as I talked to him and members of his team were crowding around to hear the commotion. He told me we could cut our bands off and leave right now because I questioned our bill. Our rate was $179 a night with the 30% grand opening discount. For two nights that amounted to $900 after resort fees and charges that were not disclosed at the time of booking. Oh and I paid in full , just under $400 at time of booking only to be hit with a bill for $454 upon arrival. Of course actual manager, Emilio, isn t here and won t be until tomorrow at 10 am. Never again. Could have gone to the kalahari for less and got so much more.

Brand new location!!!

Brand new location!!!

This resort is SUPER friendly towards families, especially ones with small children. There are several restaurants and bars on the premises for adults to sit back and relax while the kids have the time of their lives.

There are several different options as far as family rooms are concerned. The staff is really diligent about keeping everything clean and they re always there to help you with a smile.

This was the first time we ve been to this location and we definitely plan on coming back again in the near future.

I cannot say enough terrible things about this place. I will start with the fact that they book way to many people so the place is packed and really chaotic. The rooms are dirty. Flies were also in our room! The bathrooms all over the premises were out of order and dirty. I found much of the premises to be dirty as well. When I called for towels for my room, that took forever and of course because the staff is overwhelmed. The food is also not good and very expensive. Upon checking out, they didn't offer a paper receipt and when we asked for one, the front desk staff and manager were condescending and refused. We wanted to know what charges were on our credit card and they refused that as well. I will never step foot in this place again and will tell everyone I know how bad it is. I would sure hope that they can only live on their location and Groupon deals for so long until they clean up their act.

Our kids (ages 7 and 4) had a great time here and we did as well. As parents it wasn't as overwhelming to keep track of the kids as places in Wisconsin Dells can be. All the water park is in one area. There is a big water park tree fort for younger kids that has fountains and slides, zero entry wave pool, several tube slides, and family raft slides. Lots of fun for the family. A couple nights there is enough. Several people we met said they were there for 5 nights and that was too much. The check in process was not quick and we got there right when check in was available, but upon check out you can stay in the water park until it closes so you can still get another full day of playing in.

We didn't do it, but they had a wizard game that you can buy wands for your kids to play the game all over GWL. My friend said they did it and you have to look for clues and complete missions. He said he didn't think it would be that great, but he was pleasantly surprised. He said it encouraged reading and problem solving and his kids got over 10,000 steps in during the day because they were walking everywhere looking for clues.

Overall, great spot to spend a few days with the kids. We got a little bit of a discounted deal by using Groupon, so that is worth checking out too. Have fun!

Was fun. Only bad thing that happened was that my s/o lost one of their earrings in the wave pull and staff couldn't help since the pipes are connected. Oh also I left my bathing suit there, but that's my own fault.

I also liked how there's a side room that can be closed off from the rest of the room.

So much fun! Have kids ranging in ages from 11 months to 12 years. We got the paw pass for the 2 year old and the Wolf passes for the older ones (10 & 12). Activities are wonderful and so much fun, even for adults! The waterpark was amazing. Great for all ages. The baby even loved it! Only downfall is you cannot take the little ones down any slides with you, I'm sure for safety reasons which is fine. The lifeguards were so attentive and they are literally everywhere and abide strictly by their rules. The splash pad was great for the toddler and the baby. The room was very clean and there were always cleaning staff out in the morning cleaning...which I like to see. All staff was very friendly and helpful and really did their jobs well. The reason it got 4 stars is because the food is so unhealthy. It tastes good but if you want something other than greasy, carby, fried, or way too salty, your going to have to bring your own food. I packed food for the baby (thank God) and plenty of snacks. You can get water anytime out of the fountain or the coke machines...and it's good water, not gross city water. The breakfast buffet, however, was great! We also were able to take some extra milks and fruit and cereal for the kids for snacks after swimming. The food is also very very expensive which, in a place such as, is to be expected. It was slightly loud in the room, you can hear everything in the hall, doors slamming, and the tub above running but really wasn't bothersome. The arcade is a complete rip off. Build-a-bear and the coloring a t shirt was so fun though and made up for it. For the most part it was a great place to have some fun in the cold months.

Stayed one night. Had a great time. Only thing was the water temperature of the kiddie part of the waterpark was too cold. My daughter was shivering after only a couple of minutes. Rest of the waterpark water temp was good. Also, because it was a week day night, most of the restaurants were closed. Had a good time at the game room. Lots of great game options for all age groups.

I took my daughter here for her bday. The waterpark was a lot of fun, but more lifeguards are needed due to the large number of unsupervised children screwing around. Also, the quality of the food was lacking, our room wasn't ready on time, and the comforter on the bed was dirty leaving me to question how well the room was cleaned.

The stay went well so it s too bad, but after check out they charged my card $130 for pool towels, towels we used at the pool and returned before leaving the pool. When I called the front desk to find out the girl that answered was extremely rude and just disconnected me. When I called back to speak to the supervisor, she was equally as rude. After all of this, we won t be going back.

Add on- you asked me to email you regarding my review of your horrible customer service, so I did, and did not receive a reply back of any kind. More horrible customer service.

I will never stay here again!!! I Give this Place Negative Stars
My room was dirty, my shower curtain especially was gross.
When I checked In the receptionist was rude I asked her to add the breakfast package on and she said...oh its the sames price ..and when I went down the Following Morning it wasn't it I would have saved if she added it on.

My son kept on having Coughing attack while in the pool..they were so bad he had to get out and I had to give him water and let him sit out for while. We only stayed one day, so he missed a lot of time in the pool because of this. I told them when I was cheeking out If I could Talk to A manger. The check out person ask what was it about I told them They went Come Back And told me with the Manger said they never even bothered to come out and talked to me.
Never ever Again and will not recommend this place to nobody

Love Great Wolf Lodge in Chicago! Employees work hard. I do wish they had someone who only took care of the bathrooms in the waterpark though and just attended it. Bathrooms in the waterpark need to be attended to more which is a big job. The ropes course was fun. Love tge wave pool and slides. Hungry as a Wolf spaghetti was good. Timbers delicious taco truck is no longer there :(. Burgers and fries now were ok..I would recommend just getting kids burger meals. Outside food not allowed in water park. Rooms are basic...we dont spend alot of time in room. Love the famiky time.

Not a good experience here considering it was high...

Not a good experience here considering it was highly recommended. The website mentioned that the water park was heated. It is, in certain parts. There were spots where it was blowing cold air. The water was not heated in the park. It was maybe 70 degrees. The food was not that great. I wish the dunkin was open later than 1pm. If you want food, it's best to drive to one of the nearby restaurants and eat there.

The arcade said it was open 24 hours, but not the prize store. So trade your tickets earned before it closes.

The rooms were not the four seasons but for the price I guess you get what you pay for. The cups come wrapped individually but one of my coffee cups were opened. There is no television shows to watch, it is all app based and you tube.

The employees at the waterpark didnt know information on the restaurants for example closing times.

We saw the lifeguards jump in twice to get these little 2 year olds out from the deep end of the wave pool so kudos to the guards for watching the kids for the parents who think a life jacket is safe. They think they dont need to watch thier children because they have a life vest on? WRONG!!! PLEASE WATCH YOUR CHILDREN!!!!!

All in all the 2 stars is because of the lifeguards everything else was blah!

Enjoyed a staycation with the family for mothers day weekend! Simply lovely hotel and waterpark! My kids loved everything and loved that the arcade was 24 hrs as we are night owl family. I am not a fan normally of standard breakfast buffets but breakfast was great and loved the extra touches like mini yogurt parfaits and extra choices of meats. The cashier wished me a happy mothers day so that was nice. Also I have to say, the staff in the waterpark were really great about injuries! While thankfully my family had none, I had witness 2 people getting hurt and the attention the staff had was great with first aid and incident reports, completed right away! The only thing we didn t try was the taco bus, everything else we did. Looked very cool tho! The room was nice with the firepit on the TV when entering. Nice touch and loved how the Smart TV s in the room. Ben and Jerrys and kids time was great in the lobby! Overall, we just loved our time and the kids (4) and (6) years old cant wait to return! Thanks for making my mother s day special!

It was a wonderful experience. The arrangement is done well and lines moved quickly. The rooms were perfect and spacious. The staff was extremely friendly and had no issues. The key cards to the rooms are in wrist band form an make easy access to your room from swimming. Also makes it nice for the kids so an adult is not needed to get back in the room

This is a new Great Wolf that just opened this mon...

This is a new Great Wolf that just opened this month. Few observations based on numerous experiences at other locations. First the pros....love the new tech, including the virtual assistant and the RFID in the pool bracelets. I assume these are coming soon to all locations though. Better food options as well compared to other locations. The valet option is also a nice option to have given how big the lots can be. Some negatives which I have noticed. The rooms options are the "same" but a little different. We booked a kids cabin suite which at other locations is typically a decent sized room. At this location it is the size of a standard room at other places. Make sure to look at whether it is a "deluxe" suite or not. We are floored by how small this "suite" that is supposed to sleep up to 6 is. I can't image how small a standard room must be. Between the kids cabin area and the dresser there is about 30" of space to walk through---if a drawer is open you can't walk through. In addition to being small there is no microwave and no wet bar area like is typically in other locations. There is no place to put your stuff. Second, you have to check out towels at the pool and if you don't bring them back it is a $10 charge on your room. Third, unless your kids are 42" tall they are not allowed on any of the slides--not even with a parent. This was a first for us as other locations would let them ride with a parent. Finally while the water park is really great the layout is horrible. Each area is like an island with an entrance and an exit. You will walk 4 miles during your time in the waterpark in a relatively small space

I surprised my family with a drop in weekend stay,...

I surprised my family with a drop in weekend stay, honestly I had never been and wanted to take them for years. Enough was enough, I had both boys with me, we "we stopped in" merely to "check it out". After walking the lobby and viewing the indoor pool area, my little guys were not letting me out of there alive with out booking. Quite frankly, I was hooked too!

The staff was excellent, they really made us feel welcome. The room was excellent. We were overwhelmed with activities to keep the kids occupied, honestly we didn't have enough time to do everything!

Our only negative experience was day 2. The wife decided we would rent the Cabana for the day as she was told the price was only $20.00. she gave them her card and off we went. We loved having the privacy but also the security of the private locker.

A few weeks later she discovers a charge for $199.99 on her credit card so calls the lodge to get the charge corrected. She was basically called a liar and told that "no one that works here would say that, the rental rate is $200.00..."

After some discussion, she was given the weekday rate and a $50.00 credit was issued. No apology, just a credit.

Aside from this incident, the family loved the visit and the boys beg to go back. In fact we will be return and already have a room booked for after Christmas. We are looking forward to another stay at the Great Wolf Lodge.

We used to come here when it was Key Lime Cove for a nice, affordable weekend getaway during the winter. We were disappointed when it was bought out. Now the weekend prices are nearly $500/night! I can go to Disney for those types of prices! So our fun, affordable weekend getaway has been stolen by a company, which from these other reviews, gouges its customers on the weekends and also overbooks! We won't be going there, ever.

To sum our Worst Hotel Stay ever we stayed in room...

To sum our Worst Hotel Stay ever we stayed in room 2001. Decent room little out dated but hey 1st night right. Food from bar was less than stellar. It could use a fesh menu of good tasting food. Shimp pasta $20.... gross looked like Jumblia mess... Macaroni our 19 month spit out. I tried it it was less thean stellar. Wife bbq something with a dry bun and bbq sauce on the side.

ALRIGHT HERE WE GO WITH THE HORROR STORY.

FROM 8-10PM
Got woke up by a door slamming next door which a housekeeping room. Shakes the room wall viberates the headboard. 10pm talked to a manger said he would let them know to shut the door quietly.

MIDNIGHT
Must be new staff. Door slams now I'm very upset. Have to go and talk again. New staff at desk aay give me 8 mins... Really 8 mins...

5AM Must be new staff again same issues...

9AM ask for a head manger and explained whats going on gave me a $25 credit which I could care less covers the icky food I guess.

UPDATE
Mangers from the 10pm calls apologized and said they fixed the door issue. Offers a free 1 night stay good for a year. Not sure I will make it back ever but it is what it is. For the worst night ever should have offered a presidential sweet for all that and or more than 1 night... Not to tempting to come back in my book.

First I must say... I am here at great wolf this weekend on a discounted Rate because of issues from my last visit. Saying this to say I see this establishment needs a huge improvement.

When I was taking a shower I went to grab a hand towel to wash with. My eyes were closed because I just conditioned my hair. I lathered the towel with soap (eyes still closed). When I opened my eyes the towel was full of blood. And not a little spot of blood. A lot of blood.

This tells me that housekeeping is not really checking the linen! If it looks untouched... they are just leaving it.

Same with the tissue. There was a half roll of tissue. Meaning they didn t change it from the last people that stayed in the room.

When I was here last they told me they were short staffed. Customers should not have to suffer because they are short staffed.

This is unacceptable and I am traumatized. I am literally shaking writing this.

We paid a lot of money to stay at this resort. This incompetence is unacceptable!

Stayed in a Suite 3217 that sleeps 12 and the room was disgustingly dirty when we arrived. Fridges are dirty with old food, old wash cloths left in shower, pubic hairs all over shower, toilet was all clogged and flooded when we arrived and waited for maintenance to arrive with a dripping wet plunger in a Walmart Plastic bag gross! old earing left on floor in bathroom, garbage thrown and left behind dressers and under bunk bed as well as previous guest clothing left under bunk bed, room must have hada quarter of an inche dust layer on tables, dressers. That s the room issues and the water park water for kids was freezing cold and the wave pool was disgustingly salty and could barely stay in the wave pool as we gaged on the strong salt taste and burning in eyes! Who the hell puts salt in a pool for a wave pool..? You put chlorine not salt!! We stayed there from 3/1-3/2 and ever since I returned home both Myself and my 13yr daughter entire face is all dry and cracking and looks absolutely terrible and We ve never had any problems before with our faces or skin. If you plan on going to Great Wolf water park then go to the Wisconsin Dells location as the Gurnee, IL location is terrible and way over priced and over rated as it is disgustingly dirty andnot
satisfactory. I will never stay at this place ever again!

I went there with my daughter, her three kids (9,7,7 months) and her friend. We were there overnight. My granddaughter had her birthday party. We had amazing time. The hotel was very quiet, relaxing and clean. The staff at the front desk and pool area very kind. We had an amazing day indoor water park. I can recommend for everyone. We had also bad experience. My granddaughter lost her new backpack with her all birthday gifts inside. We called to the resort and they looked for it but my granddaughter never received it back. They said that they are not responsible for left belongings in the room, but they know who's shift is it and who was cleaning our room. They didn't help us to get lost backpack back. My granddaughter was crying and very unhappy. If you will visit this resort please check twice your room before you leave it. They won't return any left belongings. So sad.

The gingerbread house dinner was very special. We're got lucky and someone cancelled their reservation. But it sits right inside the hotel entrance. So in December in Chicago any time the doors open a blast of cold air comes through. There's no cover on the doors or windows of the house. Which also means curious lous come look at you and talk to your kids while you're eating lol the food was excellent at Barnwood. Might come back just for dinner! Room was standard. Water park was excellent! For both kids and adults. Because it's limited to hotel guests, on a stay on a Friday night into Saturday wasn't too crowded. Great experience. Would love to come back. It is a bit pricey so something to save up for. A lot of add-ons to do any of the activities outside of the water park.
