Loved Great Wolf Lodge. Our room was nearly perfect aside from some pocket doors with no way to lock out exploratory 2 year olds. The water park itself was great too. I took a 4 year old and had two 2 year olds in our party and all the kids found stuff to do. The restaurant situation was pretty good but the Barnwood restaurant had a very small menu with not a lot of hot spots, and they were out of an entry on the day we came which is a bit of a mess up with such a small menu. Small but adequate beer menu. The other food spots in the lodge are a better choice in my opinion. Overall though, we will be back.

While the facility is nice, as is the staff, they do nickle and dime some things unnecessarily - $11.99 for a cup of candy that you'd buy by the pound for $7 tops on Michigan Avenue, $12 to rent tiny lockers, and mediocre food. I expect gouging at Disney, they own Orlando. But Wolf Lodge is across the highway from Gurnee Mills and Great America. It makes the gouging less logical.

Family had a great time. Check ahead for the kid play packages to save some money. Tyne food wad good but there are limited options, being snacks or venture out. Gave them four stars because of the lack of food options and the minutes golf, rock wall and other exploring activities are sub par. The water park is cool!!!!

Nice rooms, Waterpark is best suited for ages 4 to 16. There is some attraction for adults but is limited. Arcade has a large variety of games for all skill levels. Additional free activities for kids done every hour for most of the day. Restaurants are ok but nothing really special.

Since I heard Key Lime Cove was under construction and changed it to Great Wolf Lodge, it s pretty cool! The hotel rooms are clean and a great size for a family to stay. I love the wilderness theme. Water park is large and with the water slides, lazy river, wave pool, and a playground for the kids to do. The arcade is small but decent, and has good games to play with. The gift shop in the hotel is over priced so luckily there s tons of retails stores nearby. Would come again.

I would have rather stayed at a hotel. I'm sure it's great for kids! But not a whole lot to do as an adult. The pool closed pretty early in and then that's it for the night as for as entertainment. Also in a few of the pools the bottom was extremely slimy. It was super slippery and left me feeling a bit uneasy with the hygiene of this place.

Place really isn't much like the ones in Wisconsin and Ohio, go somewhere else it's a glorified Red Roof inn. Disappointed. The layout of the funnel slide dumps you in the middle and you must go back up front and squeeze through a constricted area then walk clear back to the stairs. No spa ... Food sucked. Outside is a dump nobody cleaned it up before we got there and nobody cleaned it while we were there. Towels in the bushes so long it's killing them. Five thousand cigarettes all over the place. Our room had water running out of the bathroom wall the whole time. Room smelled like smoke. Very dissatisfied.

Only chose 1 star because I had to. Awoke to mice rummaging through our snacks at 4am. Went to the front desk to find someone... the whole lobby was shut down. Had to call security who transferred us to another room. Upon transfer to another room cam upon a 3 yo little girl crying and wandering building. The security had no way to locate her family due to antiquated camera and computer system. Stayed with the little girl for 2 1/2 hours in the lobby with my 3 kids. As they had no female staff on site and just 3 male employees. Finally they contacted the police after we exhausted all options. Then male security told me I need to leave before the police got there as it was their policy I refused as a mother I wasn t leaving a 3 yo little girl with a male security guard. I waited 10 feet from her until the police arrived.. then quietly left! Poor security system in place!!!!!!!!

Don't mind other negative reviews if you genuinely want to spend time with your family and make your kids happy you will love it I was discouraged because of other reviews I seen but once we got there we had a great time we where able to check in before time our receptionist was great and very helpful there's so much to do you will not be bored prices aren't bad for a resort the food is pretty good you can go to the bar and have your drinks around not just sit at the bar with them all the staff was polite when we needed something brought up to the room our room was clean you get to stay the whole next day at the water park after check out which in my opinion makes everything worth how much you spend we went on a good day it wasn't over crowded where you feel like you can't enjoy it one thing I didn't like but understand is kids can't go in the jacuzzi I think under parent supervision it should be allowed but I guess it's fine they save it as an adult area and after we left we where able to go to the gurney mall theirs plenty of restaurants around if you don't want to eat in the resort and you can bring outside food to your room just not in the water park all and all we had lots of fun my daughter is asking to go again and were planing on it

Great place to stay. The only thing I can complain about is that they originally told me even after check out we could enjoy the water park but when I asked in the check in area they said I had to live right after check out.

Great place for the kids. On the down side the arcade prices are ridiculously expensive. On average each game is 6 paws. The equivalent of one paw is .25 a quarter. $1.50 per game. Bring your credit card. Better yet leave your kids at home.

We went in to check out the lodge and it's facility to see if this is a place we would like to take our grandkids. We were given an unscheduled tour by a wonderful woman who knew a lot of the guests. She interacted with everyone she met. The facility is fantastic and we can't wait to bring our grandkids!

Perfect for families with small children or childr...

Perfect for families with small children or children of mixed ages.
We stayed for two nights with three kids, ages 16, 14, and 13. Overall, our stay was excellent, and we will stay again if we are in the area.
PRO: The waterpark was excellent. Five slides, a Lazy River, a wave pool, and a three-story interactive water play structure, all intertwined in a superb feat of architectural design. It was very clean and well maintained, the place was CRAWLING with lifeguards, and I think they may use an advanced formula for their chlorination, because the water wasn't as irritating as I find most pools. It kept all three of my kids entertained for hours, and yet with very little deep water it is well-suited for much smaller children.
PRO: Impressive partnership with Six Flags. In addition to offering room packages with deeply discounted Six Flags passes, they also offer affordable sack lunches prepped at the resort and delivered to Six Flags, and a free shuttle that runs frequently and on time. I can't imagine staying anywhere else for a Six Flags vacation.
PRO: The place is a true resort, laid out like an enclosed mall. Multiple restaurants, burger bars, and soda fountains on two levels, along with gift and travel necessity shops, two spas (one for adults only, the other catering to kids as well), a huge arcade, coffee shop, and a blow-your-mind candy and confection shop.
PRO: Nice little amenities, like being able to order a plate of warm cookies and milk to take up to your room.
MEDIOCRE: I have neither high praise nor biting criticism for the accommodations. I should say that the basic rooms look pretty solid, but our "suite" was a room separated from a sitting area by a sliding door. It was not the kind of privacy we had expected.
CON: The service was generally slow, sometimes painfully slow. Most of the staff were very nice. However one or two threw us some unacceptable attitude. For example, the guy at the pizza place was very rude because our order was near closing time. They could definitely benefit from some more training or better management.
CON: As the place caters to families, there are a lot of kids running around along with the associated noise. Not a CON in my book, but be forewarned.
CON: Not spotless. I can't recall anything that I considered unacceptable, but outside of the water park itself the janitorial work was below what I am accustomed to seeing in hotels and resorts. Again, an opportunity for better management.

I love the Great Wolf Lodge brand. I think they are so cute and caring. From story time and projects to yoga. This one in particular could use more water park stuff but otherwise very jam packed with fun. Plan on going back.

The facility is very nice but the length of your stay will depend on the age range of your guests and your previous experience. There is another location within 2 hours that is much bigger and cheaper but older.

DO NOT CONSIDER THIS PLACE THEY HAVE BED BUGS !!!!! On our stay at key lime cove we were in the lobby checking in and we over heard a lady screaming "they were all over the bed please have our room checked out it's filled with bed bugs" so security went to her room and had all her stuff removed in big black bags and pretty much kicked her out so we got scared and went to our room and looked everywhere and guess what we found a huge BED BUG so I picked up the bug with a napkin and informed the man at the lobby and he said there policy is no money back but he said we could have a bigger room so I told him no so he made us come back in the morning to speak to the manager (we had to spend money we didn't have a lot of to stay at a different hotel )so we came back and they lady said she was sorry bud we had to wait till they could get an exterminator to check if the room was positive for those bugs so I had to threaten her with a bad review for her to say "that's unnecessary let's see what we can do " so she came back and said"sorry for the inconvenience we will go ahead and give you your money back . That was unnecessary and ruined my family trip and my kids were disappointed I will never recommend this place to no one

We went on a Thursday to stay one night, we were able to check in and start playing immediately, swimming, slides, MagiQuest, Arcade, lots of food options, tons of other fun stuff like rock climbing, build a bear, bowling, a rope tree climbing area. No area was very busy at all. We cannot wait to go back.

We had such a blast at great wolf lodge. It is not too far distance wise from Chicago (next to 6 flags great America) and a great alternative to going to Wisconsin dells (which is over twice the distance). I would say, never pay full price to go as there are always promotions. We booked more than two months in advance and got a %-off discount. The facility is beautiful and there are lots of activities to do, though everything is an extra cost. The water park was so fun we could have spent the entire day there. The wristbands they gave you triple as your room key and payment methods (to the CC on room) so you don t need to carry anything on you! The rooms were decent sized and clean. Only thing I ll dock off for is $$$$.

The feel is like a knock off GWL the room is not like a cabin feel there was no huge tree where the kids go to for the bedtime stories it's a sitting area with a screen protector set up, not a lot of activity like other GWL like bead necklace or bracelet, pins or other interactive activities, the stuff dolls that you buy aren't even interactive like all the other GWL other GWL has monitors where dolls have a chip to activate for mini stories, everything is controlled from entering the pool to checking out towels

We had a great time here! My kids are under the age of 6 and were the perfect age for GWL. We enjoyed one night stay (I think 1 night is the perfect amount of time, especially if you can arrive early and start playing at 1pm and stay past checkout the following day). The lodge has restaurants and even has a Dunkin and Ben and Jerry's right on site. Their main restaurant has tasty food for everyone. Healthy eating options at all of the fast food places. Staff is extremely happy and helpful. Rooms are nice. We will return for more fun!

Such a fun place to take family and friends to enjoy especially the kids they have a great indoor pool the activities are fun for the children my kids loved it they enjoy their selves the one thing that I didn't like is the height requirement for the water slides most of the kids that come in there are pretty small and pretty young and they set the requirement for most of the older kids and only have that one little play area for the little children but they get tired of that fast so other than that it's a good place good comfortable place clean staff is nice I like it

We had an excellent stay at Great Wolf Lodge in Gurnee 9/6-9/7 for our 3 year olds birthday. Check in was quick and easy, our room was ready at 1 pm which was awesome. I asked for a pack and play for the room right before we checked in and it was already in there room by the time we got in. Room was extremely clean and looked updated. Water park is a set up a little weird and you have to go around in huge circles to get to other areas but I like that the kids area is gated off. It was absolutely perfect for our toddler- she loved it. The arcade is geared for older kids but we still had fun playing the games. The noise levels at night were minimal. Guest services were very fast when we requested extra pillows. I also love that our wristbands doubled as our room keys!! Makes life much easier with a toddler and infant. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

The room was nice and clean, very comfortable for our stay. Water park is big and great for kids of all ages, breakfast was great but pizza place was lacking. I waited for about 5 minutes listening to the employees talk and laugh in the back before anyone came to the register, and when she did, Star came up still chewing on a mouthful of food, which I find to be quite unprofessional. She didn t even finish chewing before geeeting us. The pizza looked like it had been sitting for a while and tasted the same. The only good thing about it was that the girl gave us each a free extra slice because the slices were small . Other than the bad pizza experience, everyone else was friendly, especially the cleaners, and the people in the stores. Over all we had a great time

Went here last year after opening and it was great. Came back again and even though I spent more money on a better room with balcony, our room had tons of fruit flies flying around the entire time and seemed not as clean as the less expensive room I got the previous year. I am also about 99.9% sure both me and my 10 year old got food poisoning and spent our last night in hotel room throwing up and on the toilet. We ONLY ate food from places at hotel so unsure if it was from the pizza place, the barnwood restaurant, or the burger place. Either way, it was not a good way to end our trip and we couldnt leave any faster. The positive side is that the staff were all great and super nice everytime I interacted with any of them.

The park is fun and the rooms are clean. Food is borderline average and overpriced. You will run into a good portion of parents not watching their kids so take that info into account when you wonder why the hallways are so noisy. Overall an ok visit for a few hours but not worth spending an overnight. No room service and undercooked pastries in the morning.

We celebrated 2 birthdays there this week. My son turned 4 and my daughter turned 2. I also had my wife and two older children with us. We rented a room with 2 bunk beds for a cute little kids suite.

When we got there at 2:00, it took nearly 45 mins to check in. There were 3 people working the front. That was slightly irritating, but ok. I get it. Then we got to our room and my oldest daughter immediately noticed the kids tv had a large crack in the screen. I called the front desk and they said they would send and engineer to replace the tv.

Cool! We went swimming and came back to our room that night. The tv was still broken. I walked to the front desk and I was belittled for complaining about the tv being broken. She said so, you told us about this today and we didn t get you an EMERGENCY tv yet? I m sooooooo sorry. We ll get right on it. And she waved me bye bye.

Listen, if they would have said anything explaining why they couldn t replace the tv, or offered me compensation... even an explanation. I would have been fine. I decided to complain about how I was treated in the morning. So, I told the morning staff who also treated me like a nuisance.

I dropped some serious coin on this place to be treated like an animal. The facility itself is nice. The water park is awesome. The staff... are kind of terrible.
