Was there for the first time but never again all day we where having a great time until at 9:30 p.m the guy at the top of the slides says we can't get on because we are wearing our necklace. Really after all day being on the slides you wait to the end of the day to tell us we can't get on..wow this guys would get a life..never again .......the good thing I found out of this place before our family reunion ....never again thank your staff member on the slides..

I'd never spend the money on this place again. We went during the week to have a deal. Places were closed before we even had a chance. The vending machines didn't work. Need exact change. No microwave in the room however by the vending machine. Very limited activities to include our family's age range. Broken pieces in shower just ugh
Waterpark was nice but the room was a different storie. Only one out of 3 TVs worked. The showers didn't drain. No microwave when you had left overs from their location. And when letting the front desk know all they said. Was we will fix it for the next guest. Wow
Extremely pleased with everything so glad they took over from The Last Resort many upgrades most important very clean and friendly staff. Awesome add-on of the wave pool and outdoor pool. Perfect for kids under 5. Been there 3 times in 2018 and it's worth every time. Thank you GWL..
Every year we take the kids to a waterpark for a family vacation, we have been to many great waterparks this is not one of them! The check in line was an hour wait to just get up to our room. Once in our room i needed to bring the bags up from the car, i had to move my car to the vallet service as they would not let me use a baggage cart, i lost my parking place and had to park even further away! The waterpark is small and shabby, the lifegaurds are rude, and there is barely enough tubes to even cover a quarter of the people in the park. The beds are hard, the elevator is slow and ended up walking 4 flights of stairs most the time. The only good thing about this place is the actual resturant on the main floor. If you have been to other waterparks DO NOT COME HERE!
Rooms was clean and well furnished and the ammenities were nice. Only complaints were no room service and prices at arcade were way to high. The staff i interacted with were very friendly.
It was fun and had a lot of stuff to do. All kinds of restaurants for everyone. Fun games and great swimming. Rooms were very clean and up to date. Workers very friendly and helpful.
New facility that is Clean with lots to do for kids of all ages. Staff is very friendly. Though a lot of the options are expensive. Look for booking deals first
The place is huge, nice and clean. would've gave 5 stars but the chlorine was unbearable guess everyone was peeing in the water and causing a reaction.
Customer service (or lack there of) was awful. Employees act very lazy and are very unwilling to make any accomadations. There were poop stains on the toilet. The furniture had cracks in it. There was adhesive residue on the bathroom sink. This hotel is unacceptable. Major changes have to be made, but right now I need a vacation from my vacation.
Having fun with the family. The front desk was very confused on check in. The person had to ask someone about everything they did. But other then that all is good.
Hotel itself is fine, and room service is great. Waterpark is honestly kind of small, the lazy river is not fast and filled with noisy people. Have fun trying to play basketball with your kid in the pool, because a lot of children like to hog balls. Finally, the wave pool isn't powerful enough to be fun. The arcade doesn't have any entertaining games for older audiences. (Understandable though, since this place *is* for children).
I would have given 5 stars if the food was better and all of the extra attractions weren't so expensive. Overall, we thought it was a great place for families with small children aged 2- 7. Our room was clean and spacious and we were able to check in much earlier than the time listed and all of the staff were very friendly. The basketball pool was closed when we went which made getting from one area of the waterpark to the other quite aggravating since you had to continuously walk in the opposite direction of the wave pool over a bridge and then once off the bridge turn around and walk the same way back toward the wave pool. Beds were comfy but pillows were too fluffy with no give. We will most likely return in the future but may be bringing our own food to eat in the room or be eating at the nearby restaurants.
I read other reviews about Great Wolf Lodge before heading over so I was a little bit wary before I arrived. We decided to go on a Sunday and pay the lower rate and just head home instead of staying the night. It came to $190, which is still less than heading over to Great America with 4.5 people (the baby only half counts).
I was ready to be bombarded with other things they wanted to sell upon entering. But I was pleasantly surprised. The check in process was smooth and the staff was courteous. They even marked our wristbands (The adults could charge to the room. The kids could not.) After my kids (and myself) received our wolf ears (headbands) we were informed that our room was already ready.
So of course, our first stop was the waterpark after we changed into swim suits. There was a blocked off area so my 16 month old could wander around and play safely. The oldest kids ran free between the basketball pool and the wave pool.
Maybe it was because it was off season or because it was Sunday but there weren't many people there and we really got to enjoy everything at our leisure. We rode all of the slides with no waits and cruised the lazy river. Of course, there was the big kid who knocked my baby over while his mom just watched. But a well placed "mom stare" handled that.
Other than the staff looking so incredibly bored I wanted to hug the poor kids, every thing was wonderful. I think the pricing could be better. Some of the prices are beyond extravagant and we were shocked to learn there was only one restaurant open after the waterpark closed and it was pizza. My kids were ravenous and didn't care but I was sick of pizza!
Definitely a trip worth repeating! I wish we could have stayed longer but Monday morning was calling. All in all, we had a howling good time!
Couple things to post. The room and building is great. Clean spacious rooms and the decor was fantastic. We had a coupon so the price was very good but the amount of add ons available was insane. I wish some of the activities were included in the room price. Just my opinion. The best part is that all the activities are all there inside so plenty of activities to do.
Our stay was after Labor Day and was practically empty. Kids had a great time with MagiQuest and water park. Got free upgrade. Food couild have been much better especially for the price. Will be coming back!
Great wolf waterpark was so much fun for my family. Especially our 2 year old daughter. It's super hot in there so be prepared. The surface of the walkways are rough so bring some shoes. Food was pricey but had healthy options.
The location on gurnee,IL doesnt let you buy tickets just for the water park. They dont care if your a local they wont sell you tickets unless you stay at the resort and the prices for the the night are outrages.Great america has a bigger water park than this place.
Had to gave a star...Our experience was terrible.... we hated it will never go back again.. the room was nasty n very expensive...... then we called them.out on the room the supervisor said he was giving us complimentary breakfast for two days n only gave us one so we complained about that.... some of the staff at the front desk was not friendly just a really bad experience...
We had a great time! Our accommodations were clean and the staff, particularly the life guards were all extremely kind and friendly. We called room service to change out our linens however and it took several hours for us to receive new sheets and a blanket.
This place is phenomenal. As big as it is and as packed as it was, we still had a great time. I felt that some of the staff were. Little snippy, and quick to dismiss questions we had as first time guests. But the room and water park are amazing.
Room service happened to be during baby's map time. Did not come back later in the afternoon as promised. Our room didn't have a TV remote when we arrived, room 2 days and 3 calls to the desk to get one. This location should work on their service. The water park is great, and it's probably worth staying just for that. The on site food options are overpriced, luckily there are lots of choices nearby.
Stayed for a day and a half with me wife, son, and in laws. Awesome facility and awesome staff. Everyone was very helpful. Everything was very clean. Would stay again for sure!
Room not as described on the website. Spoke with staff and they said it was. The layout was completely different. Made the trip hard with 2 young children.
We have stayed at the wolf many times. This weekend we were very disappointed. Not only did the paw pass go up, they changed the size of the candy cup you use to get, took away the unlimited romp climb and changed what magic wands to a cheaper version. At the end of the trip we went into the gift shop where the sales clerk tossed our glass items in the bag unwrapped, when we said that they were glass and breakable, she slammed the glass ornament in her hand and just stared at us like we were nuts. I'd like to make a suggestion to the water park area. This was our first time being there on a Friday/Saturday, usually we come during the week to avoid the rush. The kids were so rude and pushing the little ones down the slides. You need to have staff at the top of the slides, especially in the little kid area. The bigger kids where shoving. It made up parents very anxious for our little ones. Also the lazy river should be a lazy river, not a free for all. If kids want to play tag they should go to the wave pool. If you are in the lazy river you should have to be in a tube. I hope you take these concerns seriously, I'd hate to see a child get hurt.
Awesome experience! The facility is very clean and well taken care of. The water park is fun for everyone in the family. If I had to find a complaint it would be the temperature in the water park is a little chilly.
Lots to do for kids of all ages. The quick stop food is reasonably priced, the restaurant food is over priced. The beer brewed for the lodge is delicious. The rooms are nice and the water park was clean. Lots of fun!
My wolf pack of 5 (kids ages 10,7,4) have been wanting to go to GWL for years. I could never justify the price with our budget. We planned a vacation to a cheaper option in Wisconsin. When we arrived at this cheaper option, it was dirty and unsafe. Literally in the middle of the night I found availability at this GWL and booked it. In all honesty, I'm so glad we had that first awful experience at the other place because it forced me to book the GWL and we had a BLAST. As expected, it wasn't cheap, but man was it was worth it. Immediately we were greated with amazing front desk staff who were incredibly helpful since I booked in a rush and needed to add the wolf passes and character breakfast and such. The kids got wolf ears at check in. We went the water park before check in and had a blast. The lifeguards there are by far the most attentive I've ever seen. My 10 yo would wave to each one of the lifeguards in the lazy river and not a single one missed her wave. They are younger workers but clearly take their jobs seriously. We were there during the summer camp out, my kids had a blast with the duckie 500, story time, crafts and the workers in general in charge of the dancing and such. I believe one worker named Bri and her typical partner (I forgot her name) made my girls trip even greater. She remembered names, snuck a face paint in for her sister after it was "closed" and was overall so sweet. The room was impeccably clean and spacious. The only slight negative we had was in regards to the wolf passes (a type of inclusive activity pass you pay for in advance) as my youngest wasn't big enough for some of the activities and we got multiple answers on what she could "substitute" the activities with. We were originally arcade points, that was incorrect, we were then told a game of bowling, so we did that, but we later learned from a lady in the elevator they did a build a bear instead. In the grand scheme it isn't a huge deal. She had a blast regardless, just an area to improve. I also noticed the staff in general seems to take a Disney-ish approach to customer service as they seemed to go above and beyond and not say no to a guest. We are so glad we got this experience and hope to return soon!
What an amazing place!! We all loved it!! They have everything!! Water park was the cleanest water park I have ever seen. Staff was so friendly, can t wait to go there again!!
Our visit was excellent with our toddler! He loved the arcade, the lazy river and the little kid slides. We got the Pup Pass and got a bunch of extra goodies to take home. We came last year, this year was fun and next year will be even more fun! Thank you Violet and Wiley Wolf!
No complimentary anything. Do not forget your sundries bag if you go to this hotel. Lifeguards are not guest-oriented and treat this location more like a public pool than a full-service hotel.
Had a blast! Kids had so much fun! Only down fall was the price of breakfast. Kinda pricey for the breakfast buffet. (I could see dinner) Next time we will bring our own, eat Dunkin donuts, our go somewhere else. $70 for 5 what they considered as 2 adults and 3 kids. Liked that we could enjoy the pools the next day all day. Wish it stayed open a little later than 9pm.
Nice waterpark for a weekend trip with kids. Only complaint would be there is no regular pool for the kids to swim in. They have a toddler pool, pool to play basketball in, wave pool, lazy river, and a few other things. Arcade was fun. Room is like any other hotel room. Didn't eat at the restaurants .
Great place for Kids. Huge amount of entertainment for them wonderful birthday add-ons. The beds were a little firm and a lot of noise in the halls but that's to be expected at a resort aimed at kids.
Pretty fun little water park. They need better life guard supervision on the slides to tell kids when to go, but that's really my only complaint. Otherwise a very fun time.
Great Wolf Lodge is a great family vacation spot. There are lots of activities for the family beside the awesome pools, shopping, arcade, and food is decent with kid options. The down side is that it can be expensive.
Great place to bring your kids and your grand kids. They keep the young ones entertained with story telling, music, crafts etc.the waterpark has something for every age and there are lots of lifeguards watching everything. Bring your own towels or they charge you for theirs
We had a really good experience. The kids had a great time at the water park, rope climb, bowling, and especially the Magiquest game. We will definitely be making a return trip.
Very clean. Employees are on top of customer service! Water park was lots of fun with plenty of life guards around. Only complaint was house keeping forgot to replenish coffee supplies & drinking glasses for the room. We will be back!
