The focus of this review is on one particular salesperson at Jim Ellis Buick- Ricardo.
He was the main reason we continued to pursue buying a new car at this dealership.
Ricardo is knowledgeable, very patient and a real gentleman.
The dealership is truly fortunate to have him on their team.
If you visit this dealership, we strongly recommend you ask for Ricardo.
You will be treated with respect, no pressure and he will demonstrate a sincere interest to meet your needs.
Thank you Ricardo.

Tim Brown my service advisor did a great job as always and had my vehicle ready much sooner than expected. My dealings with the entire group at Jim Ellis have always been courteous and professional. They run a top notch organization and are hard to beat!

Excellent service. Tim Brown was courteous and very professional. He made a simple oil change feel like it was the only thing he had to take care of. Thank You so much for your fast and efficient service.

Tim made sure my oil change was done in under an hour today. It was a Saturday morning before a holiday so he definitely pulled a miracle! He provided great customer service and gives Jim Ellis a good name. Will be back for all services.

As always, this dealership was efficient and more importantly they were honest about what was going on with my vehicle and what my best options were to fix my vehicle. I bought my car from this dealership and I service my car at this dealership because I trust them and I don t feel like I m getting the run around.

Worst Dealer Ever. I went that dealer yesterday. They advertise on side of vehicle $15000 OFF, so I asked and confirmed their sales person and sales person confirmed that vehicle is $15000 off. So I give all my trade in vehicle information and spent over hour to purchase that vehicle, but later sales person said they can not offer that discount and just say goodbye and shake my hands. Never explain why thy can not give that discount, and they never honor this advertising on that specific vehicle!
And I asked salesperson, I want to speak with sales manager about this issue but refused.

It was a cool and simple process. I went in for a break light and a software update. They took me in early and finished me before my initial appointment time which was 11am. Unfortunately do to miss communication on my initial dealers part i wasn't able to get my tale light. I feel confident they'll have it ordered and replaced before the weeks out tho. He assured me he'd stay on my initial dealer and was very adamant about it. They were polite even checked my daughter and my temperature before entering the building. They were big on safety from start to finish. Thanks look forward to returning for my break light asap.

I have purchased a lot of new cars and by far this is the worst service department I have ever dealt with! They have no knowledge and just don't care. Took my vehicle for interior warranty repair and they gave back to me with more damages from the technician than before. Express lane advisors??? Please they do not listen and have no clue about maintenance. They only reason I gave it a one star is because They gave me a good deal on the vehicle when purchased.

I have purchased my last 2 vehicles at Jim Ellis Buick GMC. I have to say my salesperson, Jim Banks is the best in the business. He is very knowledgeable, personable and goes the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied with the entire buying experience. I have to say Jim is the reason I came back recently to buy my second car here. While there are many dealers to choose from, I doubt you will find a salesperson at any of them that truly cares about his customers the way Jim Banks does.

I always have the best experience at Jim Ellis! The staff is always very professional and they truly care about people. Since my husband and I purchased our first new vehicle together at their dealership and we have been very impressed. Tim is always a pleasure to speak to and work with when we come in to service our car. Thank you!

I've had several different experiences while visiting this dealership but I must say this last visit was the absolute best. From now on I will be working with John Anderson as he is the greatest service advisor at Jim Ellis. He's very considerate, kind and will work with you to make sure your vehicle is taken care of. He is definitely my go to guy and this dealership should be very proud he's apart of the staff. He one of the reasons why I've considered purchasing another vehicle from Jim Ellis.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! We traveled all the way from Chattanooga to buy a truck at Jim Eillis. Every single person we encountered there was very professional and kind. They weren't pushy in any way and did everything they could to make sure we walked away happy customers. And we certainly did! We will definitely tell all of our friends in the market for a GMC to head that way instead of wasting time at the dealership in town. Special thanks to our sales guy Melvin for helping us out that day!

Fast and efficient. I always make my appointments online and I can get in and get out.

UPDATE: Still a great Service place!
I didn't buy my car from Jim Ellis, I got it through Carvana, but they have been my dealership for everything and I wouldn't trade them for the world. They always have good timing even if they are running behind. And if that happens, they are always willing to accommodate for your wait time. They are honest and being a single woman it is really important for me to go to a dealership that I can trust. Although most men deal in the service department, I never feel like they are taking advantage of me and are telling me the truth about my car.

The team members were very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very fast. They went ahead and took care of my recall service while I was getting my AC repaired, saving me a future trip. They didn't mind answering all of my questions, and explained them in layman's terms. I am very happy with the service I received and my husband was also impressed. I felt my business was appreciated and it was an overall nice experience. Excellent customer service! We will definitely be back.

Ralph Noel at Jim Ellis was a great person to work with. He is extremely knowledgeable about not only the specific car and model I wanted and was looking at but all the models at the Buick GMC dealership. He was easy to talk to and understood almost immediately my needs and wants as well as my concerns. The car buying process, that I so dreaded doing, was made very easy. I love my new GMC Acadia and the Jim Ellis dealership!

There is an "apparent unwritten rule" with your service department regarding "customer wait/no wait" after a vehicle is brought in for servicing.
Reason for Servicing: (Scheduled Appointment)
- Routine Oil and Filter Change and Tire Rotation
* Additional Issue: Test Electrical System

Upon arrival, my initial contact was with, Service Advisor, Brandon Cannon. (The assigned advisor, John Anderson, had not yet arrived). After confirming the work to be done, Mr Cannon asked if I was going to wait or leave the vehicle. (Mr Cannon informed me the secondary issue would take 2-3 hours). I informed him that I had someone en route. So, the assumption to him was that I was leaving the vehicle. I then proceeded to the customer lounge area.
Issue:
I arrived at the service department @ 7:25a. At approximately 11:30a, Mr Anderson introduced himself stating that he informed by Mr Cannon that I was still there. He apologized and then proceeded to say that a technician was "just" pulled my work order. Needless to say, I was not pleased with that after 4 hours. He then stated although I had an appointment, my vehicle was pushed back in work order. Again the assumption was that I had left the vehicle for a later pickup. He stated that this was a normal practice. Wanting to be sure of what I heard, he repeated it with somewhat of a smug and indifferent demeanor (as if I wasn't supposed to question him). Not Acceptable and Very Disappointing!
I later explained to Mr Anderson that my disappointment was not totally directed at him (didn't seem to matter). My disappointment is with the "practice". Whether my being there or not, my vehicle (or any other customer, unless informed) should not be delayed in work order.
I also think there was a lack of effective communication and understanding which resulted in unintentional assumptions by all involved.
Suggestion:
Whether a customer will wait or leave a vehicle for servicing, please ensure that your service advisors clearly explain the "practice", to avoid future misunderstandings. Be prepared in their response. At least display empathy when responding to a not so plesant issue. Anybody can be indifferent.
By the way, oil and filter change, only.
- Lost Time.

Very shocked at the poor customer service at this location. I had a client's car towed in because the battery had died. First of all, when i called to check on the car, they had no record of it, twice. Finally they found it under a different name, but still that tells me the service was bad. Finally the service manager Tom contacts me, is very short with me about what is going on, and tells me they have some tests to run on the battery. The next day i call to get a follow up and I was talked to very rudely about the issue, and his tone was condescending to say the least. I will not be sending any clients to this location again, and will definitely have them removed as a service partner with our organization.

I am very happy with the service Jim Ellis GMC provided when I request oil change service on GMC Terrain, model year 2013 . In addition, I am unfamiliar with a couple items on the console, the customer service provided satisfactory answers and showed them to me. Great Job.

My wife felt belittled and frankly insulted by the experience she had with Tom during her experience at this service department. To be honest, if I could give negative scores I really would at this point. She was profoundly disturbed by the interaction with Tom - and I will never put her in that situation ever again. She actually was fearful during her time there. Seriously? You just don't treat people that way - ever. Let alone in a customer service environment.
This interaction has soured us on the entire GMC experience. We have chosen to buy a GMC SUV and also lease a Chevy car within the last two years. If this is the kind of person that this dealership employs, we will never purchase from this dealer or any other GMC dealership for that matter.

I had to have my 2013 Buick Regal GS towed to this...

I had to have my 2013 Buick Regal GS towed to this dealership because the car went in limp mode. After the diagnostic My service advisor John Anderson tells me I need a new high pressure fuel pump, all new fuel injectors, 2 high pressure fuel lines, an intake manifold gasket, all new spark plugs, and oil filter. He explained that all of my fuel injectors were stuck open, and the fuel pump was dumping fuel into the cylinders causing a misfire, and this was the biggest part of my problem. All of this came up to $3,266 worth of work. He sent me a list of the parts and cost, and I already felt cheated because I searched these parts online, and found that they were marking up the prices close to 100%.

After thinking about it for a long time, I let them do the work because I felt like the dealership would take care me with quality work, and they'd have me on the road with no problems. 37 miles after leaving the dealership my check engine light returns and this first thing I did was call my service advisor, I returned the car to the dealership only for him to call me and tell me that there's another problem that's going to cost me another $1500.

Now, I've heard horror stories of how dealerships like to rip people off, but now I'm experiencing it first hand. I spoke with a few mechanics who explained to me that the fuel pump had to be functioning correctly because the fuel injectors wouldn't be getting fuel dumped into them if it wasn't. Aside from that, after reading my invoice, I found that it showed that only one cylinder was misfiring, and if that's the case why did I need all new fuel injectors. Again the mechanics I spoke to from another shop explained that if only one cylinder was misfiring, only one fuel injector should've been replaced, and the others should've been cleaned.

After returning the car they're telling me I need a new catalytic converter, and I have to come out of pocket to deal with it. This all seems like shady business. I asked my service advisor, John Anderson, if I could speak to his superior, and he told me that he would have that person call me soon. I never received the call so I called and emailed him the next day, and still no answer. That was 2 days ago, and I'm still waiting on this issue to be handled. I'm really hoping and praying that this dealership rights there wrongs because as of right now this is just all wrong. I will write another review with the outcome.....to be continued.

Service at this place is the absolute worst. Customer service is not helpful and the service time is ridiculous. I had an appointment to have a sensor replace on my Pontiac Grand Prix and I sat in the waiting room for almost 8 hours! I'm not kidding, almost 8 HOURS! Please steer clear.

Just bought a new car today and had an amazing experience, all thanks to our car salesman, Kalo. He took great care of us and made sure we got the best deal for our budget. My family has been buying cars through him for years, and now we know why! I highly recommend him! Thank you GMC & Kalo!

My biggest concern was time - I wanted to be in and out rather than sit at the dealership ALL DAY. From the Internet Sales person who set up my appointment, to the time I drove off the lot, I was in and out within 2 hours. Superb Team Work!!!!!

Great Experience!

Great Experience!
Greg Scott with Jim Ellis Buick, GMC , a great sales person.
After visiting several other dealerships, We were most pleased with the customer service we received at Jim Ellis. Our Sales Person, Greg, made this experience one of the best we've had purchasing a car. It had been 12 years since we purchased our last car and we didn't know what to expect with the change in cars and prices. However, Greg and the Sales Manager searched for all incentives and rebates they could find and also gave us a great price for our trade. The staff at Jim Ellis Buick GMC Atlanta including Greg, Jacqueline, Brandon and the Sales Manager made the experience great. And from this experience we have a great vehicle. 2017 Arcadia Limited.
Thank you Greg!

I got a great deal on a 2016 Sierra. Dino Hill really did a great job with getting my purchase together beforehand and I was in and out within a few hours. I plan on keeping my truck for a long time but when it's time for a new one I will be back to Dino and Jim Ellis.

My sales person Ralph was the kindest most gentle , no pressure salesman I've ever encountered. I have to admit when I walked in I was scared to deal with a salesman bc of past experiences, "I just can't say to" if you know what I mean. Ralph on the other hand, took his time and was the most professional salesman I've ever had , I wasn't sure about buying anything, but he asked me what I wanted and made it happen! He even personally changed my oil for free. Ralph is the best man ever , go see Ralph if you want good and ongoing, professional service.

It is always a pleasure to take our car in for service at Jim Ellis Buick GMC on Peachtree Industrial Blvd. The adjustments they have made to maintain an excellent level of customer service especially during the current Covid-19 atmosphere is truly appreciated. I want to give a special shout out to Service Advisor John Jones whose exceptional care and positive attitude always put me at ease. The entire team is top notch. Thanks so much. You are all greatly appreciated!

From the very first communication on line all the way through the face to face interaction I was extremely pleased. The prices listed on the website were the true cost of the car. Response to my inquiry in the website was immediate. Great system for scheduling a face to face appointment. Impressive COVID precautions in place. Our sales representative, Gavin Harrison, was prompt, extremely knowledgeable and responsive to our questions. Excellent customer service skills. And there was absolutely no pressure! This was absolutely the best car buying experience in my life!

Great dealership with a wonderfully stocked parts department that was able to get me the all weather mats I needed for my 2019 Spark that the dealership in my hometown of Buford didn't have. So i drove 33 miles to Jim Ellis and without delay handed me my new all weather floormats and without problem applied my $100 voucher I recieved when I purchased my new car.

I recently purchased my third car from Jim Banks. He always makes me feel like a valued VIP customer. He goes above and beyond to find the exact model, color and price that I am looking for. His customer service continues even after the purchase of the car. He always makes time to say hello when I am at the dealer getting my car serviced. I would highly recommend him to a friend or stranger looking for a new car.

A friend bought a used Yukon XL in November from out of state and went to DMV to transfer his tag however this dealership has not registered the vehicle with the state of SC for this to take place. It has been over 45 days and the temp tag is out of date now. He is unable to use this vehicle now as a result. When I reached out to dealership they passed me to Melissa Doane In the tag and title office. After multiple messages and attempts to get in touch with her she finally answered. Then proceeded to say that he wasn t on the paperwork when we had the paperwork in front of us. She said she couldn t talk about it then said yes he was on it then hung up on me. After calling her back multiple times she finally answered and has now passed me onto the finance team. All we need for them to do is register the vehicle in the state of SC and we can have the tag transferred. Apparently this is to much to ask of this dealership. Stay away and go to the next closest Chevy dealer!!! This review will come down if issue is resolved in next 24 hours!!!!

Horrible!!! Stay away from these shady dealerships...

Horrible!!! Stay away from these shady dealerships that only look forward to ripping off customers. I visited Jim Ellis Chevrolet on November 19th, 2014. I was in need of some repair services on my Pontiac, a typical oil change and diagnostic test. The service advisor "Jerry" Gerald Christopher told me that it would take about a day and he would call me the following morning and tell me what time I could pick my car up on the following day. The following day I had not received a phone call by the late afternoon so, I called Jerry. After leaving a message, because of course he was busy ripping off another customer he finally called me back and told me that my vehicle had not yet been looked at because I did not have an appointment. Keep in mind the previous day, he told me that the vehicle would be ready on the following day. I immediately told them that I would be there that day because I needed my car, after all this is my only source of transportation.
I also contacted the service manager Brian ext.28189 about the incident, he told me that my vehicle had not been looked at but, he would get someone to look at it. Later, on after picking up my vehicle, I found out that the technician had only looked at my vehicle after I called the service manager. They found that the torque sensor on my vehicle was malfunctioning and for this small job it cost me $618 dollars, $300dollars of that price was for the labor alone. After leavening the dealership, I just wanted to drive away from this evil, relentless bunch of unprofessional idiots as fast as possible, however my car's tire sensor light came on before I could even reach 285. How could they have missed this in my so called oil change, with a 52 point inspection? I was forced to immediately return to the shop and get my car repaired again. Now my car is wobbling and the steering wheel will not stop making noise. Will I ever recommend, suggest, or use this refusing to call you back, only trying to get in as many customers as possible and do a half-$$$ job dealership? NOOOOOO Save yourself and try a dealership that has a good reputation and not a dealership that pays the cable companies and the radio stations to play their commercials constantly, trying to make consumers think that they are a reputable company.

I had a great experience there. They were super knowledgeable about my car and it's issues. And they took care of what I needed in a quick and timely fashion. Way better then the Buick dealership in Buford Ga. I like the way the Atlanta Jim Ellis Buick handled my car and the way that they treated me. Buford Jim Ellis sucked with how they treated me and my car. Will never take my car there ever again. So if the public is reading this. Always go to him Ellis on Peachtree industrial. Never Buford Ga. They really treat you good and do a great job on your car. Sincerely yours. Mr. Wayne A Diggs.

I showed up almost 30 minutes late to my scheduled maintenance, but my rep (John Jones) was very understanding as I was scrambling with work calls. He got me set up at the work station in the waiting room and took care of my car while I was able to enjoy some coffee and wifi. Definitely a fan and always great to see John.

Obviously, Jim Ellis Buick/GMC in Chamblee has mad...

Obviously, Jim Ellis Buick/GMC in Chamblee has made a HORRIBLE decision on who to promote into management positions. I was totally shocked and appalled to see (according to a Yelp review this weekend, as well!) that I was not the only person that they committed this devious act on of evading a deal and changing prices overnight on a vehicle.

Yesterday, I emailed (of which I have a full email trail with screenshots from the Jim Ellis site included!) that my wife and I were wanting to purchase a specific Encore (exact stock number given to salesman, Tom) and we had financing already in place. I asked him to get the paperwork ready and that we wanted to come in on Saturday to sign and be done and to finish the paperwork so we would have a short-time sitting around the dealership...

Our salesman, Tom Grimes stated numerous times that he "was sending that over to Dwight, the Sales Manager...", that was at 3pm. By 9 pm, no response, so I emailed again as to why this wasn't done yet. "Oh, their too busy today, the Sales Manager is even out on the floor selling cars now!" I had specifically told Tom, in email, that we were leaving for vacation and wanted this done by Saturday afternoon. Let it be noted that he NEVER ONCE suggested that the price would be increased overnight and that we needed to come in on Friday to sign!

Saturday afternoon, 2pm, no response still. Emailed Tom again to ask if he was not going to make the deal on the Encore or what was even happening. No response for another hour. Called his cell phone directly. "Oh, yeah, I'm sending that over to Dwight again right now!" was his response.

There was never a response received from Tom or Dwight again after that contact. It is blatantly obvious that they have decided to not honor the deals that were started on Friday by ignoring them until after the price was changed in their system by the time they opened Saturday morning. This is, of course, fraud.

THIS is exactly why so many customers today have trust issues with automotive dealerships and demand transparency and ethics. Yet, there are none to be found...thank you Jim Ellis Automotive for proving this fact in 2019.

Extremely negative experience trying to buy a new ...

Extremely negative experience trying to buy a new car from this dealership. After a verbal agreement and hand shake on a final price that included an optional piece of equipment, dealer then went back on their word stating that they could not include accessories in the purchase agreement even thought that item had explicitly been negotiated and would not then lower the purchase price of the vehicle by the amount of the accessory. Needless to say, I walked away. Be wary of the sales practices of this dealership.

I went in to see a Sierra SLT advertised at a great price. Test drove and started to negotiate and after first round numbers weren't where they were working. Working to get to numbers that work the sales manager came over and said the price online was wrong and the truck is actually substantially more in price. Mind you this is after they already presented the car priced as it was online in our first round of negotiations. Shady practices here and I would encourage people not to take the time to even entertain any advertised prices as they could be different at any point. I plan on reporting this to the BBB.
