We recently purchased a new vehicle from Jim Ellis, overall a very good experience with all of the staff. Our salesman Barry insisted we take one of their vehicles home for the weekend to make sure it was the right fit for our family. He helped us search for the vehicle we were looking for and ultimately we were not able to find one in stock anywhere. We ended up ordering one from GMC. Everyone at the dealership was great and made sure we had a very pleasant experience.

I'm very disappointed in my experience at Jim Ellis Buick GMC and it can be described in just a few comments:

Deceitful acts to hide the truth
Lack of Transparency

I was suppose to have purchased a new GMC Sierra Denali, but after I got the truck home I find that Jim Ellis had actually provided this vehicle to young boy by the name of Cole Potts has a loaner for over a week. Who knows how many people actually used this vehicle as a loaner. Did the employees of Jim Ellis actually forget to tell me it was a loaner, or was it an act of deceit and betrayal? Without question, I'll chose the latter!

If making a few bucks means this much to a dealership, then buyer beware!

I'll bet I won't see this one posted under the dealership rating!

Earlier this month, my wife and I went to Jim Ellis Buick GMC Atlanta. Upon entering the showroom, we were greeted by two friendly smiling faces. Sales Manager, Dwight Wood and Product Specialist, Blake Kenya made a great first impression with us! It s rare to feel so welcome by such professional people right away. Variable Operations Director, John Gribbins also stopped by to say hello during our visit. Once we agreed on the sale price, Dwight Wood came back by to thank us for becoming a customer. This was a nice touch that is also rare these days.

The final step of our experience was with Finance Director, Sam Afeworki. He was very professional and made the closing process as quick and painless as possible. While we were waiting for our new vehicle to be cleaned and brought to the front, we were left with one more lasting impression of our visit. We noticed the sign stating The Jim Ellis Promise - you can always expect the best . By the way, all eight promises were kept during our visit.

I would highly recommend anyone looking for a GMC in the Atlanta area to stop by this location and ask for Blake Kenya. He is there to provide an absolute outstanding sales experience!

This was a better experience than in the past; however, I thought my car would be washed (maybe, even rinsed) off. Prior to purchasing my new vehicle from Jim Ellis, I took my prior, older vehicle to another device department & they would wash my car after each service. No problem. Otherwise, their service personnel was very good & got me in and out quickly.

****Sorry for the wordiness I think the whole story warrants telling.*****

I bought my 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 brand new in December 2018 from Jim Ellis GMC in Chamblee, Georgia. This truck has the L83 5.3L Gen-V small block V8 with the 8L90 eight-speed transmission. At the beginning of this week, I brought this truck back to Jim Ellis because it was having transmission issues - it was displaying a shake/shudder under light throttle at steady speed. At the same time it lost its firm shift going 1-2 or 2-1. Being an ASE certified mechanic trained by General Motors many, many years ago, I am 99% sure there s an issue involving either the torque converter or the planetary gearset. At 38,000 miles and a year and a half in, I d be severely disappointed if there was a mechanical transmission problem.

So I go in and tell the service advisor about what s happening and wait to see what they come up with. In the meantime, I discover there s a Technical Service Bulletin (18-NA-355) that addresses this very issue. So now, I am VERY curious as to what the dealership comes up with.

Here s the important part of the story: the service advisor, Tim Brown, did everything right. From the moment I showed up at 7:00 in the morning to the time I picked it up, he was I. Constant communication with me. Very professional, very efficient, but mostly very honest. He explained that there was an issue with these transmissions and it s something GM has addressed.

So here s the point: it s hard to find that level of honesty sometimes especially when dealing with a known problem or a well-documented problem like this. And it s even harder to find a group such as Jim Ellis that can practice that kind of honesty.

Well done, Tim Brown and the Jim Ellis team!!! I walk away being a bit disappointed in GM, but absolutely thankful for your team!!

To be honest, I miss taking my luxury car in when they just hand you the keys for a rental instead of having to wait for your car to be serviced. However, for having to wait today Megan made the day so much nicer. I still had to wait longer than two hours for an oil change, but Megan was so sweet during check in, temp check, and tried to give me as many updates as possible during the wait. She was also so helpful and went beyond in checking out and walking me to the car to make sure all the plastic and paper were gone. Thanks for making my day easier, Megan, I wish there were more gems like you in this world!

Terrible Experience! My wife and I had been looking at purchasing a new Buick Encore. We bought a 2016 Buick Regal (from another dealership) a couple of years ago and wanted to stay with Buick. We saw an advertised price and went to purchase it. We did have a great Product Specialist named Eugene who was very nice. Unfortunately, when it came time to get the advertised price Eugene had to speak to the manager. The manager came out and had some numbers written down that totaled $,2,000.00 more than the advertised price and $2,000.00 more for a seat and paint insurance, $4,000.00 more total!

I explained that wasn't the advertised price and I didn't want the $2,000.00 seat and paint insurance. He said the best he could do was to give the Encore at the advertised price but we'd have to buy the $2,000.00 seat and paint insurance. When I reiterated that I didn't want the seat and paint insurance, he said that if I didn't want the seat and paint insurance he would have to charge $2,000.00 more for the Encore.

As my wife and I were sitting in the cubical we could hear the couple sitting next to us being told the same thing regarding the advertised Encore price. They immediately got up and left very angry

It was like a combination of every bad story you've ever heard about car dealerships. I've been to many dealerships in my life and never had an experience like this.

Brought in my 2012 GMC Yukon Denali for a water le...

Brought in my 2012 GMC Yukon Denali for a water leak. They said they would look at the truck the day I brought it in. They did not look at it until the next day. 2 days of rental expense. Then they stated they fixed the water leak by sealing the seam. I brought it home and it rained and guess what, the same water leak!!! They did not fix the truck, I doubt if they even took it apart. Lastly, the price went from the original quote of $325 to $685 because they stated someone tried to seal the leak before???? Right now, the car is still with a water leak. I am working with the dealership that sold me the truck and GMC Corporate to get this resolved. Yes, I will get my money back, trust me. Adam was awful, kept changing the repair status times on a daily basis and seemed to get upset because I called GMC Corporate to complain. It's simple if you fix a water leak, test it before you state it's fixed. Water comes right it the truck when you run a garden hose over the windsheild down the firewall.

I've come to this sevice center at least 4 times and the staff are always fast, courteous and professional. The text message updates are awesome as they allow me to continue on with my day, pay online, and inform the service center when I'll return to retrieve my car. I always recieve a call if they find an issue that needs to be addressed and they've even offered cheaper solutions (website referrals for parts) to repairs that they've identified. All in all a service center that I trust

I am only giving this a 5 star review only because of Dane in the express service. He was efficient and was able to squeeze me in for service without an appointment. I highly recommend this place and if you do end up going here ask to deal with Dane. Very reasonable and works with customers. I was a tech for GMC and for the advisor in the main dealership did not know of this and I explained to him what I wanted done. He then proceeded to tell me that it wasn't a good idea and talked down to me like I know nothing about vehicles or maintaining vehicles and sent me next door. The last time I checked you are an advisor and are not a mechanic. I am very annoyed to be talked to like I'm stupid and know nothing. I would rather you not talk out of your ass and do your research before you speak with anyone let alone a female.

Ask for Dane in the express service! He will put the customer first!

DO NOT TRUST ANYONE AT THIS DEALERSHIP!!! THEY HAVE NO INTEGRITY!!! This is a horrible dealership. Nobody in the company is on the same page. My wife and I wanted to buy a new vehicle from this dealership. We spoke with a salesperson, who spoke with her manager, and told us they could do what we were asking for, with regard to discount programs. (And after everything was said and done, General Motors did confirm that what we asked for was acceptable and could be done.) They advised that they would forward the quote the next day as it was late. The next day, they said they would not do what they said they could do the night before. This went back and forth for several days, and through several levels of management. They refused to do ANYTHING that they said that they would do. Every level of management had a different version of what they would be willing to do for us, but once it made it to paper, it never matched what they said verbally. Once we got past the first level of managers, the management staff became rude and insulting in the conversations. The salesperson was nice and somewhat helpful. I would encourage them to find a better place to work and not learn from the management at this dealership. The managers, including the General Sales Manager were insulting, lack common sense, and customer service skills. I wonder how they got to their positions. The GM and VP of the dealership didn t care enough about their customers, their dealership, or their jobs to even pick up the phone and apologize for the way their employees treated customers. To make matters worse they didn t even care enough to reach out to us after General Motors asked them to. We went to another dealership and bought a vehicle doing exactly what we were asking for at Jim Ellis. That dealer made it happen in a matter of a couple hours with no hassles. There are good dealerships out there but Jim Ellis Buick GMC Atlanta is NOT one of them!

I got a wonderful deal on a GMC Terrain and the finance people really worked hard to get me the best possible loan interest rate. I have had a very hard time getting ahold of someone to help me buy a car. Every time I got ahold of someone they put me on hold, tried to transfer me or said they would call me back but never did. I've spent 3 days working on it but couldn't get the help I needed and then the car was sold because no one would help me to get the information on purchasing it in time. You would think they would want to help since I was planning to buy the car and pay a significant down payment, but I guess my business was not important enough to work with me to make the sale.

Was looking to buy a Nissan Leaf and the salesman straight lied about the state of the battery to get me to come out and see the car, and when I got there and saw that the battery was in poor health he then lied about the process for getting it replaced saying "I'm a Nissan guy, they will replace it for free once you buy it, but they won't replace it if the dealership owns it.". He recommended I call the Nissan dealer across the street to confirm his claim. I did call and they refuted his claim. He was also generally rude and had poor communication skills.

I had a great experience until the end. They gave me a bill and I handed them a coupon. They looked at the coupon that I had gotten in the mail like they had never seen it and then made me wait for 45 minutes!! Then, they tell me they can't accept the coupon because I needed to show them that in the beginning of the process.....here's the problem, I didn't know I needed brakes until they inspected them and saw the problem. Ya know, I wouldn't have been that upset about the one thing but making me wait 45 minutes to tell me that is not cool. You will not see my car on your property again, that I assure you.

The sales person did a horrible job at customer service, And the rest of the team denied what was promised. I have been a loyal customer of Jim Ellis for over 19 years! And had never been treated so poorly.

I purchased a vehicle from Jim Ellis Dealership before and it was awesome. When I purchase vehicles I use my GMS General Motors discount. I reached out to this dealership and they attached added fees and such as tag fees which was excessive and taxes that was double of what I pay within my state. I m not sure what is going on at this dealership however I was shocked. I'm no longer interested in the vehicle. I'm totally disappointed at Jim Ellis Dealership as I've purchased a vehicle from you guys before. Buying cars now have changed.

Tom at the service counter is honestly the best person I have worked with. I've owned Mercedes, Acura, and Lexus and their customer service can't compare to these people. Not only is he prompt to answer any questions, he is also very nice and extremely well spoken. While other dealerships try to upcharge and "find" things wrong (which results in a $4K bill) he doesn't try and force things. Because of him I will keep buying gmc products from this place.

2 departments - Service & Used-Finance really stin...

2 departments - Service & Used-Finance really stink here! We bought a certified Buick here in 2016; and 1.5 years later we get a letter from the DMV that some paperwork was not filed by the Used dealer's Finance woman. She not only messed that up but few other critical details that came weeks and months after buying the car. As for their Service department, I have yet heard back once from the Service Manager or even GM from the periods of 2016 to mid 2017. I have left several messages on their voice mails on few occasions but they never call back. It leaves me the impression that the Service leadership is overwhelmed while their Service agents/schedulers are not adequately trained and/or evenly trained as the service I receive over the phone are inconsistent and all over the map with conflicting information and inconsistent policy information especially when it comes to loaner cars and process of wait time, etc... just general service FAQs.
So, maybe the posters here like Jim Ellis Buick GMC new dealership but their SERVICE department and Used-Finance are quite different. It appears that they're all run or operated independently or that each of the managers are given a loose reign to do whatever they want without a consistent oversight over QUALITY CUSTOMER CARE which should be the main focus. Terrible service ESPECIALLY BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT that the over-rated ranking of this Vendor is misrepresented.

Because of these inadequate customer care we will never buy another vehicle - used or new - from any Jim Ellis dealerships again. It left such a sour taste in my mouth that our next vehicle will be from their competitors as we actually like Buick brand and found other Buick dealers in metro Atlanta are actually quite responsive.

My dislike about doing business with a dealership ...

My dislike about doing business with a dealership as opposed to an independent repair shop is price. I mainly had my fluids changed as part of the "100K" service, (transmission fluid, differential fluid, coolant fluid, oil change, spark plus) (they said they changed the cabinet filter also), came out to $1300, with $800 of that being labor! I think that is outrageous and way over charged. There is nothing that I am going to believe that will justify those charges for services rendered, but it's done, it's paid for and life goes on. If I can find an auto shop that can work on these GMC vehicles, then they will be my new mechanics, but I've been to a couple that wouldn't touch them saying that GM pretty much designed these engines for only their technicians to be able to work on without voiding warranties and screwing things up. Other than that, they do the work, my truck is running fine, the customer service people are friendly and the waiting area is clean with free wi-fi.

My family was in search of a 3 row, AWD SUV such as the Enclave or the Acadia. After looking through countless inventory pages online, we knew we couldn't find the AWD vehicle we wanted in the southeast, but went to Jim Ellis looking to work with someone for a dealer trade or to custom order a vehicle. We started working with Jocelyn as the online rep, as we ran our searches and looked for pricing. When we showed up, Ralph at Buick GMC was exceptionally helpful in helping us narrow down our search results, test drive, and really get to know the vehicles we were looking at without the uncomfortable sales pitch or pressure. Even when it came down to the fact that we found a car at a dealership out of state with a price that couldn't be beat, he continued to help us and encourage us in our search, and even offered to help us as the local Buick GMC dealership if we had any questions about the Acadia we ended up purchasing. In addition to the great sales staff that we worked with, our 2 year old was entirely happy coming to "visit" and sit in each car in the showroom and read the books/playing with toys they had in the service center play room. We were never made to feel uncomfortable, even as she ran around the cubicles and hallways and sat in each of the cars. We would be happy to recommend Jim Ellis Buick GMC and return here for a car purchase should the need arise.

Called in to set an appointment and actually talked to someone in the dealership rather than a call center. They took care of the repair while I sat in a nice waiting area, everyone was friendly and helpful, got me in and out in no time. I watched them with other customers, offering rides or loaner cars, giving alternatives to expensive repairs, etc..

I have a growing family and need to upgrade to larger vehicle. I have visited several metro-Atlanta car dealerships in the past few months. I can honestly say that my experience with Jim Ellis was by far the best. Their sales person Ralph was extremely knowledgeable in vehicle selections and was patient with my many questions. He was never pushy on trying to sale me a vehicle and he provided me with multiple payment options toward the purchase of a vehicle. I will definitely be back for a future purchase. I also will be recommending my family and friends to this dealership.

Pleased with all aspects of the buying experience. Lindsey, our sales person, was personable and expertly lead us through the numerous selection opportunities Jim Ellis had available. She helped us choose a vehicle we will enjoy driving and feel confident our grand kids will be safe in. She impressed my wife and me with her genuine desire to place us in a vehicle that meets our stated needs. The sales support staff was also top notch and supported Lindsey's efforts to ensure we got the vehicle we wanted at a price we could afford.

We have now purchased our third vehicle from this dealership and we only have great things to say about the people that work there: from the salespeople to the finance department to the maintenance crew. We've used Barry Bacon for all three Vehicles and he's just an outstanding person. The entire team was great! The process went quickly, given we thought they closed at 9 not at 7pm, we didn t give them much time but still the whole crew stayed late to get a deal done for us. We love the 2021 Yukon and will absolutely be back the next time we are in the market for a vehicle.

I work over night it s hard to please someone when they are tired and on limited rest. A wrong gesture can trigger a whole new bad mood. I had a great service.
