This is our second new vehicle from Jim Butler and both times they have gone above and beyond for us. Everyone we came in contact with was super friendly. They worked with us to get us exactly what we wanted and then some! We have found our new dealership that we will always go to!

Scott Johnson is wonderful salesman. Talk to him when you go to shop for a car. He listens to what you need and makes a recommendation based on those needs. No matter how busy they are, Jim Butler week take care of you. They make you feel valued as a customer.
I went to Jim Butler to sell one of my cars outright. They gave me twice what other dealers were willing to give for a trade-in. We used the Autotrader trade-in survey, which then gave use a trade-in value. They came pretty close to matching it. Overall, however, my experience was very nice due to the salesman that worked with me, Bill, or "Fuzz." He was a very nice guy and easy to work with.
I had my truck in for an issue where it would start every other turn to the key, sometimes acting like the battery was about all the way dead, or making a sound as if the starter was locked up. I was told that a new battery was needed to finish the test on my truck for diagnosis. After I agreed to pay for a new battery (which I had tested multiple times before coming in) I was told that the starter was bad. Prior to bringing the truck in, I thought the starter could be the issue myself, so I crawled under the truck and tapped on the starter with a hammer to see if it was seized up. When my truck was returned to me, after being billed for a new battery and a new starter, I took the truck home and crawled under it again. I found that the same starter was in the truck as I could see my couple of tap marks from when I hit it with a hammer! I did a little research and got some 2nd opinions and was told that the solenoid was likely bad and that the dealership saw it as an opportunity to charge me for a whole new starter. I will never buy a car there, my family members will never buy a car there, our company will stop buying trucks there. I feel so ripped off right now.
Bought for first truck from Jim butler from Donnie, 3rd vehicle my family has purchased from Donnie. Great dealership to purchase a vehicle from. Friendly and fast service , great selection of vehicles , and well priced for the market. Would recommend .!! Thanks Donnie!
I Always have a great experience at Jim Butler Chevrolet. My salesman (Chris Saettele) was awsome! He will go out of his way to help you. Chris takes his time to make sure you completely understand the process and that your getting what you want. Great place! They have my family's business for life.
Placed order for parts online and heard nothing for 10 days, then on the eleventh day I get a refund email from Paypal. I called parts department, put on hold, then told the guy that did this left and there is a new guy. He'll be in around an hour and he will call you. Two days later still no call. Thanks for nothing, waste of my time.
Our sales associate was great! The service department, not so much! Too long of wait for oul changes! Sat in the waiting room for close to 3 hours because the person claimed they came to waiting room and didnt see me (sitting in the childs waiting room). Another employee notices im still their and say my cars ready and say my oil change would be free for my wait, i told him i have warranty and they are already free (not sure why they didnt know that)! Go to leave and they lost my keys bc someone mistagged them! Employees were apologetic but very annoying waiting so long!
I woke up and decided I was tired of mini vans and black vehicles. I had excellent customer service for repairs done on my old car so I decided to give their sales a try. I went on line and pre-qualified, then went around just browsing the lot. Bill Fuzz Steinlage saw me and asked what I was looking for. I told I told him, I want don t want a mini-van or anything black or dark colored . I need remote start, room for 5 ( including 2 car seats) and the ability to carry something large if I needed too. He said ok, found me a nice red Arcadia with what I wanted plus more. Bob Schneider hooked me up with the best financing and I drove home in my new SUV after work the next day. This was the best, easy and friendliest vehicle purchase I ve ever had. I would highly recommend my guys to everyone.
Went there last night since I am in the market for a new car and it is down the road from my house. This place is a joke if I have ever seen one; was there for quite a while and even walked the entire lot browsing at the cars and prices. Not one time did anyone come out to acknowledge my husband & I; I typically do not care when a salesperson hovers over you, but at least acknowledge that a customer is there and make them feel welcome. I know they were not that busy because when we decided to leave after being ignored there were 3 salesmen outside practicing their golf swings. Now I have been reading the reviews here on Google and I see how argumentative and defensive the person responding is. I'm glad I didn't stick around and buy the car I was looking at. I was able to go elsewhere and find a great car for a fraction of the cost; funny thing is it is the exact same car I was looking at there.
Brett was very kind and professional when we met him. Brett asked about what I wanted to have in a car, and we discussed different car options. The car that I chose is the one that he tried hard to make work within my budget. Throughout the process we were made to feel comfortable with great. Brett was very thorough in explaining all the features in the car. At the end of the purchase Brett made sure that the car was detailed and had a full tank of gas. Brett helped us to find the Chevy Spark we wanted, with steering wheel controls, Bluetooth, my link, automatic windows, white color. Brett even let me test drive the car for two days to see how it felt and drove while my paperwork was being processed.. Our experience at Jim Butler Chevrolet was very delightful. I was able to take home my first brand new car one day before my birthday as i had hoped. Thanks so much! I would really recommend Jim Butler Chevrolet if anyone wants to buy a car.
Eric Bolin was our sales rep., and let me tell you something consumers, it was fast, easy, and he was wonderful. I have worked with four dealerships in the past year due to bad vehicles or for financial situations but this place was the first I felt that customers was great and the price was right.
I bought a 2012 GMC Sierra used and my sales person was Daniel Carr. Everything went smoothly and he worked on my behalf and was able to get the truck I wanted. I would trade it Jim Butler Chevrolet again !
Jim Butler is amazing with a great car selection! The dealers are great too. One in particular that's stands out to me is Stacey Thornton Sr. how helped me with buying my first car. He broke everything down for me and helped me through it all, so I want to thank you and the rest of the Jim Butler Family!
This was one of the easiest experiences of my life. Both Tyler Forbus and Patrick at Jim Butler were fantastic and so easy to work with. When I ever need a new vehicle this will be my first stop.
I bought a brand new 2013 Suburban from them, they sold me xzilon coating, it smeared my paint, they ended painting my hood and left front fender to remove the coating. After they had my vehicle for 3 weeks they returned my vehicle with a very poor paint job, they left buffing compound all over my vehicle, white buffing compound is on every piece of black plastic (this can not be removed) and I now have a new dent in my hood. I have spoken with the general manager and he told me they would NOT do anything for me. I do have an estimate from another Gm dealer in the amount of $2407.60 for repairing the damage they have done to my brand new vehicle. They think I will forget about this and go away, I will not! I want my vehicle fixed the correct way!!!!!
Went in to the Fenton location with my sister because my old car had broken down the Tuesday prior and was towed. I had a really great experience during the sale of the car. We were there for 6 hrs though! I told the salesman that my car was in a tow yard, and I had no intentions of getting it out. They decided to put it on the sales contract still giving me $250. Signed everything, said I'd bring the title up and off I went. Fast forward to Wednesday after Christmas. Got off work and drove to the dealership. Dropped the title and key off. I'm having issues with my ex not paying his personal property taxes so I was unable to register my vehicle. Was told I'd have to pay the back taxes, and I should call the next week to get the total. As I'm walking out I'm told there is a tow bill of over $400 and I had to pay that. I told them it was in a tow yard and I wasn't getting it out. It was never discussed who would be responsible for the the bill. Fast forward a couple days and I get into a heated argument with the finance guy. Who says I was calling him a swindler, but I was saying I feel like I'm being swindled. Found out he had already paid the back taxes, or so he says, that I was supposed to call about in a week to get the total of. They were holding me responsible for the tow bill on the car I NEVER said I was using as a trade, and I ALREADY said I wasn't getting it out of the tow yard. They gave me $250 and now I was being asked to pay $1000 more. Came to an agreement to be billed for the back taxes, because yes that's on me. But I won't be responsible for the tow bill. Was asked if I wanted to bring the car back then argued with about the car being financed. He wanted to be cocky and say it wasn't. That I still needed to do the welcome call. Jokes on him, did it that morning! My deal is done FINALLY, but I will NEVER go back to that dealership.
I was a stress free experience. I will definitely be recommending Jim Butler to my family and friends. William Steinlage and Chris Brinley made the car buying service easy. I highly recommend them.
Our experience in buying a new vehicle at Jim Butler Chevrolet was a great experience since we hadn t bought a new vehicle in 17 years. From the salesman s knowledge and understanding of our wants to the finance department made it a very easy transaction. Mr John Gibbs was very helpful in helping us choose the right vehicle for us. Very courteous and friendly with all our questions. It was all around a great experience. I will highly recommend you to our friends and family.
Definitely one of the easiest vehicle purchase experiences I've had in a long time, I would definitely recommend working with Matt Dawson he was great.
I came in with a van that we only had for a year, that was going to cost more to fix then i thought it was worth.. Tim the sales manager and Tyler Sparks our sales person worked extra hard trying to find the right vehicle to fit my family and finacial needs.. Comparing the two experience from buying our van and our mailbu were night and day! This experience is what car buying should be like everywhere else! Jim Butler came thru for me in a big time way! THANK YOU
Comfy waiting room; complimentary donuts, coffee, water was great. I was told an oil, filter & tire rotation would take about 90 minutes....I was good to go in that length of time.
Only negative was having to wait when I drove into service area with no one else waiting for help - even though there many employees milling about behind the 'desk' areas.
Best car buying experience I ve ever had. Tim Rhame in particular was extremely welcoming and helpful without being pushy at all. He listened to what I was looking for, found me a few different options in different price ranges, and gave me a great price. Highly recommended.
Was very pleased with my experience at Jim butler! Chris was very helpful and was able to get me the car I wanted and the color I wanted. I am in love with my new vehicle!
John Zensen was really knowledgeable and helpful in making the transaction smooth! Butler Chevy stuck with their promise of price that I negotiated online with Samantha Tate. That is great service! Some other dealers don't ever bother to negotiate online, therefore, they lose out on business... including mine. Also, you cannot beat the inventory of Camaros they have in stock. I am highly enjoying my new SS!
I buy all my cars from here. Go see Christopher Saettele he will help you out. Never had any issues. In and out anytime I want to upgrade or get a new car.
Truly amazing. I was traveling through Missouri all the way from NY and stopped to check and make sure all was well with my 2016 Equinox. These guys are a force! Within an hour they did a 5-point inspection, topped off everything and did it all for $0.00, FREE! I've never gotten that type of customer service anywhere, let alone my own dealer in NY. Thank you so much to the men and women working hard at this dealership!
I had an amazing experience at Jim Butler in both the service and sales departments. My car started acting funny on my way home from work. I went into the service department without an appointment and in a hurry to leave and get my kids from school. The entire department helped me get checked in and get a rental car quickly so I wasn't late to pick up my girls. The lady in the rental department was very accommodating about the type of rental I received. Kim the service advisor was AWESOME. I told her I was scared that I would be forced to get a new car and she reassured me that I was in good hands. She introduced me to Troy in sales and said if I had to come back, I should see him. The next day she called with the bad news about my car and made sure that I had all the contacts I needed for car shopping. I came in one more day later and Troy helped me find the perfect car. Considering I was not planning to buy a new car, it wasn't a quick process but Troy was very patient. He took the time to show me endless cars and explained all the deals on new, used and certified. Buying a car because you have to buy a car is not a great feeling but the Jim Butler team was amazing! Thank you Kim, Troy, Terra, and the rental lady (whose name I do not know). I love my new Traverse!
The sales manager, Alex Cox, is very arrogant, conceited, impolite and rude. He ruined our vehicle buying experience. Take your money elsewhere. Not worth the 5 hour wait to purchase a vehicle then be spoken to impolitely and rude. Do NOT go here
It took an hour and a half to do a simple oil change and tire rotation. They also did what they called a 20,000 maintenance that was suppose to clean the sludge from the engine., I cost me another $60. I never saw on my bill where they used any type of solvent or cleaner to accomplish this. As far as I know they just charged me $60 extra for nothing. They never once came & told me how much longer it would be or even when it was done. After an hour & a half I went to the service dept. to see how much longer it would be. Low & behold they had just gotten the paper work & it was ready to go. I wonder how much longer I would of had to wait had I not gone & asked about it. No, I don't like their service & wouldn't buy a new car from them. I took it to them because it was close. I won't make that mistake again.
Jim Butler did a great job of hiring John Zensen for their sales and Mike Zarlingo in finance. Both men do an outstanding job and are a credit to a fine automobile dealership
Troy Hardin is our salesperson on every purchase our family has made or will make at Butler. He is always very helpful and looks out for his customers best interest, providing useful information to assist in making a decision. Everyone there is always helpful and making sure you are being assisted.
I've bought several cars in my lifetime and not one of those experiences were as helpful, fun, or as easy as the one I had yesterday. Ryan Zimmerman is a great salesman, honest, helpful, and a very nice guy!! I will be back to see him in the future!!! Thanks for everything Ryan! I LOVE my new Equinox and can work the radio like a pro!
I went to Jim butler after receiving a mailer. Others had sent a mailer but never stuck to what they said they could do. I met WILCOX and he is amazing. What an awesome person. He was honest, friendly and made me feel that I was a person and not just a sale. He spoke to me with dignity and respect and didn t judge me at all given my situation. He is the best and I will come again for my next vehicle. The process was also super fast and the finance manager and Tyler were great also but that WILCOX IS AMAZING. I m a female who hates going to dealerships and he never made me uncomfortable and made this experience amazing. Thank you.
From the rental car check in process to the service updates, everything was quick and easy. Doug Kircher (service writer) was fantastic in keeping us to date on the status of the car and always got back to me if I had a question. That is the best experience I've ever had with a service writer at any dealership! Everything was explained to me in detail and I didn't feel like I was being sold something that my car didn't need. I would highly recommend Jim Butler Chevrolet's service department to anyone, and ask for Doug if he's available!
I'm 73 years old I've bought cars since i was 16 years old. My experience at Jim butler's was the best that I've ever had. No pushey salesman, No ,i had too buy or the the deal would disappear. If I buy another car, I will go back to Jim Butler.
On my 2018 Traverse bought at Jim Butler Chevrolet in Fenton-MO:
I bought a very expensive car for more than fifty thousand dollars (including sales tax) and when I had the car serviced for the first time, I did not feel the dealer service department treated me properly and then later GM customer service could not address my issues: 1) Dealer representative told me my car could not be serviced in the same day as agreed on the appointment because I booked the appointment via GM phone Application. He told me I should have called because they do not check the content of the appointments in the app and there too many things to do in my car for same day appointments. So it is my fault they offer a service they can't honor. After complaining, the manager offered me a free car loaner. 2) About 10 days after I got my car back with a document saying there was NOT any charges for the services nor for the car loaner, I got a charge in my credit card for the double of the price I would pay per day if GM didn t agree to pay for the car. 3) I bought a brand new car that after less than five thousand miles start to smell mold from the HVAC system, even after be charged for a loaner car and contact GM customer service, every day the weather is warmer I get the mold smell. This incident happen in January 2018, now 3 months later the smell is still there. 4) I bought a 2018 car that is already obsolete regarding phone wireless charge pad once the phones launched by Apple in 2017 (IPhone 8 and X) are not compatible. GM customer service could not commit to take down GM dealer videos from YouTube with misleading information showing that the year model car that I bought is compatible with those Apple phones when in GM and Apple websites it says they are not compatible. 3 months after I contact GM in January, there are even more dealer videos misleading potential customers.
One of the reasons I bought a Chevrolet is because Jim Butler is the closest car dealer to my home, but now that it is getting close to my second car service I will need to find another dealer to try to resolve mold smell issue to my very expensive new car, once I don't trust Jim Butler Service Department to touch my car nor credit card again.
My car salesman, John, was knowledgable, friendly, and patient. He got me into the car of my dreams at a great price. The financing department secured me a great rate and explained everything along the way. A big thanks to John and his team at Jim Butler. Make sure to check them out!
I just bought a 2016 Equinox from Jim Butler Chevy. Mike Marshall was my sales person. The entire experience surpassed my expectations. Mike did a wonderful job finding me the right vehicle and handling the entire process. The Equinox is great and perfect for my needs. Mike has also been most helpful after the sale. Great job Mike Marshall and Butler Chevy. Impressive!!!
Chris and Kelly were fantastic to work with. They were very helpful with no real pressure just a desire to make sure we got the car that fit our needs and our budget. Thanks
Be aware. Jim Butler Chevrolet pays companies like Lending tree to advertise Pre-approval yet after you apply to get pre approved they initiate an hard inquiry on your credit.
After Adrian Rice and Eric told me pretty much to deal with it.... They and their company will for ever leave a bad taste in my mouth. Their actions are fraudulent and unethical and everyone should be cognitive. A disgraceful group of adults. I'm sure this company will have a disrespectful reply as I've read the other rude and disgraceful comments left on here and the BBB for other unsatisfied consumers. If there are any recordings I welcome you to play as I'm sure they will not only confirm the lack of clear communication on your companies behalf but a strained attempt atsome form of power.
I purchased a used 2014 Ford Raptor from them and they were nothing but outstanding. I had a couple other things going on at the same time that delayed me during the process, but they were understanding and total pros. I would recommend them without reservation.
Great customer service on the sale side but when it comes to the service side as with any dealership expect long wait times for the most minor service issues even oil changes, other than that a good dealership.
Was a great time. Went to 3 different places before them and they were not the best price only by a little, but wanted to go with Jim Butler because of the fact that I felt a little more comfortable with how they would help me after I rolled the car off the lot.
Honestly the worst experience I have ever had trying to purchase a vehicle. I set an appointment and was told that their were multiple new 3500 s that fit my criteria on the lot. Got there and there was 1. Also upon my arrival I was told the salesman I was dealing with left and I was given to someone else. He was trying to complete one sale with another customer and was bouncing between the two of us on the lot and inside. 20 minutes of walking the lot in the cold looking by myself I came back in and stood around for him to finish the paperwork on his other sale. All while the rest of the salesmen stood around talking. The new truck I test drove had a wobble on the front end and I didn t want to purchase it as I m buying a brand new truck. Complete waste of my time, I was also told there was only one other LT model within 200+ miles in a poor sales pitch to try and get me to purchase the one they had. Couldn t be happier to take my business elsewhere.
Gary was our salesman. He was awesome. He got us running boards that were very nice. He even drove to the place and picked up the stepups for us. The deal for the silverado was so quick and easy and the quickest we have ever had for a car deal. Thanks Gary and HOORAH. We also want to thank Mike the finance guy. He was so nice and got our financing done in less that 30 minutes. He was very cordail and a lot of help to us. The fastest financing we ever had. Go Mike. Thanks to you and Gary.
I received a recall notice. Scheduling was easy . When I arrived I was impressed by the large number of cars they were servicing in a friendly and efficient manner. I was even able to get a shuttle to go shopping while I waited.
took multiple calls to get thru to anyone, then got transferred to the service dept, which rang and rang and rang, no answer, finally after almost 45 minutes of trying to get a hold of someone, i got a snide lady in the service dept, who was rather rude....our vehicle was part of a recall, and i didn't have any paperwork regarding the recall on me, so i didn't know the recall number, she wouldn't help me at all, i called another dealership and didnt have the paperwork and they were able to look up the recall and get everything set and sorted out in no time flat...... will not ever go here, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone, nice representing Chevy, Butler. 3 thumbs down
Oil change takes 2 hrs. Even made an appointment during the day on a friday. I could understand once but this is the second time. I will not be returning.
So after my last visit to a dealership I was nervous about this trip. No need this was the best car buying trip ever first Jen started with email to see what is was looking for. They didn't have it. But they had cars on the way that would be what I wanted. They car came in a Cajun red crude hatchback. The salesman called Friday evening to let me know a car matching what I was looking for arrived we agreeded to meet Monday morning to see the car and work out the details. I explained to him my experience at the other dealership (if you want to know who to avoid see my other review I don't even want to say there name again)
Back to the good Scott Johnson was my salesman at Jim Butler Chevy. If I could give him 6 stars I would have so if you are looking for a car call Scott Johnson and tell him Steve and Morgan recommend him. No high pressure sales was fair with both the car deal and the trade he was training Ethan Nolan ask me if Ethan could help me with the paperwork Ethan did a fine job as well.
So if you need a car this is the place to go. I see why Jim Butler Chevy is an award winning dealership.
here is my review from dealer rater
A week earlier I was at another dealer they had a car I wanted but treated me poorly so I left. I started calling around looking for the car I wanted. reached out to Jen online at Jim Butler they did not have the car i was looking for but told me they would follow up if one came in. this was Monday. On friday evening I got a call from Scott Johnson. The car I was looking for just arrived a 2018 Cajun Red Cruze LT Hatchback. Scott and I talked about my experience at the other dealership he assured me this would not be the case at Jim Butler I agreed to come see the car Saturday morning at 9:00 Scott told me he had another appointment at 9:00 but he would make sure I was taken care of until he could help me. Sat Morning Morgan an I headed off to see the car we arrived and Scott came to meet me and get me a settled in with a cup of coffee the waiting area is very comfortable They had to bring the car up as it was still getting its delivery inspection done. The car arrived It was the car I wanted so the looked at my trade. we agreed on a fair value for the car and my trade and he ask if a salesman he was training could work up the paperwork Ethan Nolan was great got everything completed and sent the car for detailing while we finished up the financing. this was not a high pressure environment. we agreed on the financing after review of what the had to offer. signed the papers and Morgan has A new car to ride in. This was the best car deal I have ever done. It is not a question of will I return to Jim Butler but rather When. What I would tell anyone looking to buy a car Is Go see Scott at Jim Butler Tell Him Steve and (Morgan the service Dog) sent you. Thanks JIM BUTLER AND SCOTT JOHNSON
I am not one to usually complete these surveys for car dealerships. My boyfriend and I purchased this car in September, every salesman, financial employee, everyone I talked to before Doug Kircher treated me as though I was invisible. Treated me as if I know nothing about MY car, my very own salesman, wouldn't even talk to me directly.
Before I went into this appointment the words out of my boyfriend's mouth were "call me if they give you any trouble."
Doug is the reason I continue coming to Jim Butler, Doug is who I went through the first time my car had to go into the shop right after I purchased it. This last experience Doug went above and beyond.
In the past, I have to know going into my appointment that I have to ask certain questions in order to get answers that workers would just come out and tell my boyfriend. This stems back to workers at Jim Butler thinking I know nothing about MY car. As well as workers at Jim Butler thinking women know nothing about cars.
Doug right away showed me the statistics on my tires from when I rolled into the garage. This was impressive simply because I had not asked to see it. I am not used to an employee at Jim Butler showing me something or providing me with knowledge about something I did not specifically ask. 12 out of 10 for Doug Kircher.
Doug Kircher asked me about my education, talked to me like I was a real person, he even came in the waiting room once my car was finished and held my book bag open so I could put my homework away. Yes, during the hour wait I had to do homework. I am a third year, elementary education major at Maryville University. I am also on the dance team as a scholarship athlete and I have a job. My days are hectic and for that moment talking with Doug, I didn't have to worry about being talked down to or constantly think about how I would have to stand up for myself. He made this experience a 5 star, 10 recommendation. I left Jim Butler in tears of happiness and called my boyfriend so happy that a worker at Jim Butler didn't treat me as if I were invisible but instead tried to get to know me. Doug Kircher made it known that he was proud of me.
Jim Butler should employ more people like Doug Kircher.
My car was due for an oil change at 7900 miles, I have been so busy with homework, my job and dance that I wasn't able to get in until my car was past 8300. In the past, I dread going to car appointments. Now that Doug gave me his card, I will specifically go out of my way to ensure he is the guy all of my appointments are through.
I want to make it known that Doug Kircher is the reason Jim Butler is getting a 5-star rating and a 10 out of 10 recommendation.
I can guarantee anyone needing services will receive Doug Kirchers contact information.
John was very friendly and helpful. I told him exactly what I was looking for and he helped me find it without any pressure to look at more expensive options. I will definitely refer friends and family to John. Took the time to look for the vehicle when it was unclear if there was one available, moved the process quickly in a time sensitive situation. Overall it was great. The financing piece was a little confusing. Dont automatically present me with finance options that include add on warranties resulting in a monthly payment that was $70 more than what I ended up with.
Brought our 2016 Malibu in, for it's first service since bought new in Dec 2015. Everything went smooth, service was quick and professional. We will be back!
My experience with the sales team was great, they were helpful in answering questions and coordinating a leather install for us. My first experience with service department was rough but when I mentioned this to my salesman, the team more than made up for it. They explained what the miscommunication was and corrected it quickly. I have higher expectations for my next visit!
