Tim Boyster Review of Jim Butler Chevrolet

I had my truck in for an issue where it would start every other turn to the key, sometimes acting like the battery was about all the way dead, or making a sound as if the starter was locked up. I was told that a new battery was needed to finish the test on my truck for diagnosis. After I agreed to pay for a new battery (which I had tested multiple times before coming in) I was told that the starter was bad. Prior to bringing the truck in, I thought the starter could be the issue myself, so I crawled under the truck and tapped on the starter with a hammer to see if it was seized up. When my truck was returned to me, after being billed for a new battery and a new starter, I took the truck home and crawled under it again. I found that the same starter was in the truck as I could see my couple of tap marks from when I hit it with a hammer! I did a little research and got some 2nd opinions and was told that the solenoid was likely bad and that the dealership saw it as an opportunity to charge me for a whole new starter. I will never buy a car there, my family members will never buy a car there, our company will stop buying trucks there. I feel so ripped off right now.
