Went in to the Fenton location with my sister because my old car had broken down the Tuesday prior and was towed. I had a really great experience during the sale of the car. We were there for 6 hrs though! I told the salesman that my car was in a tow yard, and I had no intentions of getting it out. They decided to put it on the sales contract still giving me $250. Signed everything, said I'd bring the title up and off I went. Fast forward to Wednesday after Christmas. Got off work and drove to the dealership. Dropped the title and key off. I'm having issues with my ex not paying his personal property taxes so I was unable to register my vehicle. Was told I'd have to pay the back taxes, and I should call the next week to get the total. As I'm walking out I'm told there is a tow bill of over $400 and I had to pay that. I told them it was in a tow yard and I wasn't getting it out. It was never discussed who would be responsible for the the bill. Fast forward a couple days and I get into a heated argument with the finance guy. Who says I was calling him a swindler, but I was saying I feel like I'm being swindled. Found out he had already paid the back taxes, or so he says, that I was supposed to call about in a week to get the total of. They were holding me responsible for the tow bill on the car I NEVER said I was using as a trade, and I ALREADY said I wasn't getting it out of the tow yard. They gave me $250 and now I was being asked to pay $1000 more. Came to an agreement to be billed for the back taxes, because yes that's on me. But I won't be responsible for the tow bill. Was asked if I wanted to bring the car back then argued with about the car being financed. He wanted to be cocky and say it wasn't. That I still needed to do the welcome call. Jokes on him, did it that morning! My deal is done FINALLY, but I will NEVER go back to that dealership.
