Surprisingly slow service. 2 hours for an oil change, sometimes longer. No complaints on the work that they do. Other complaint is I brought my truck in for warranty work with an appointment, when I arrived at my scheduled appointment I was told that they were so far behind schedule (4-5 hours) that they wouldn't get to it until the next day. When inquired about a possible rental the technician advised that the repair will only take an hour or two and that rental would likely cost because of that. I agree that if they were going to hold onto the vehicle for only an hour or two a rental does not make sense. But given they made a mistake and were behind by several hours I don't understand why I am being punished and do not have a vehicle for an extended amount of time (now going on 26 hours for a supposed 1-2 hour repair). I will gladly take my service to Dave Sinclair and give them a try prior to exploring products from other manufacturers. Maybe they have a better understanding of customer service.

Brought vehicle in for scheduled full detail and buff drivers side of truck. After 2 hours, was told it was ready to go. I got my keys and walked out to my truck to find they never buffed the drivers side of the truck. Let the service advisor know so she called someone and they said they didn't buff the truck. So they sent it back. Another 30 minutes later they bring it back and say they buffed it but couldn't get a single scratch out of the truck but instead left buffing compound all over the door handles and swirl mark down the truck. After getting in my truck, found the "full detail" only consisted of vacuuming the floor and putting paper mats down. They didn't even clean the windows.

Greatly appreciate all the hard work Jim Butler staff offers and displays each time I've had to have my car checked out or serviced. Everyone is so friendly, welcoming, patient, concerned and helpful each time. They treat you like family, they remember your name, they keep you updated and they checkin on you several times while you wait. It's just so refreshing to be treated as family other than just another customer. Thanks.

Making the purchase of the new car was made very pleasant and satisfying because of the professionals that I dealt with, from the sale to the financing. Sufficient time was given to understand the various options and to then make a decision that I was comfortable with.

Recently bought a used car from this dealer. After a few days I noticed some things that were wrong. I had them checked out and will be returning to the dealership within my warranty period. I will update this post then. But from early impressions, this may not be the place you want to purchase a used car from. Stay tuned!

Dissatisfied. Horrible customer service. Unable to keep appointment times. Misdiagnosed my vehicle and failed to notify me of safety issue. Refused to accept a coupon with their name on it that was still valid. Unprofessional managment that does not take responsibility for their obvious lack of service. Fact that so called "certified 27 multipoint inspection" does not get preformed properly although the charge is still the same.

Took my GM to Bomarrito. They were fast and friendly. Corrected all issues on my vehicle that Jim Butler failed to find and/or did not advise me of. Appointment was a success and was true definition of appointment. Thank you Bomarrito, Jim Butler could learn from you.

Typical Jim Butler, still refusing to take responsibility for their actions. Since they have no record I guess I should report the charges to my account as fraud by them.

If you really wanted to correct the issues, I do not believe this is the professional way of doing so. If you have any further comments or would like to correct the issue Jim Butler, please do so in a business manor and refer to your invoice no. 29666.

Usually good efficient service. However, this time, waited 2 1/2 hours, then they started to give me a rental car, changed their mind, said take own car home, call back next week and make a new appointment, if they have the part in. 3rd time transmission leak on this 2016 Equinox.

Bait and switch, can't keep their story straight, advertised new truck for 35000 got there and it was a demo with 3500 miles a dent in the left front fender and a crease in the right rear fender and when I told him they're going to have to fix it they say but it's a demo told him I was going to another dealer they never even tried to call me back and make a deal till after I bought the truck that Weber Chevrolet then they wanted to call me and make a deal.

I was very happy with the customer service I recieved at Jim Butler Chevrolet. I had my truck towed to their location and as soon as it arrived, i recieved a phone call to let me know my truck had made it. My truck was completed quickly and the work seems to be done right. The issue is the price I had to pay. Over $400 for a $40 fuel hose that didn't even need the gas tank dropped out to replace it.

My experience was great. My sales man was Brett Estes and he was outstanding. I called for help and he told me to come in and as soon as I got there he was on a mission to make me happy, and happy I was. Didn't pressure me into anything like most sales men do just told me how it was. He became a friend and that's how buying a car should be. He's a heck of a guy and is passionate about his job so I recommend going to Jim butler and talking to Brett.

I received a settlement letter in the mail regarding a 2013 Equinox I currently own that has oil consumption issues. I have had two blown engines because of this issue. Chevy acknowledges the issue with my equinox, but because my SUV is now over 120,000, I need special consideration to have my car fixed. I provided past receipts showing this was an issue spanning years, including when my car was under the mileage limits. A woman named Gloria who works for GM told me they would not help cover costs for repair based on the decisions of this dealership. IF YOU ADMIT THE ISSUE WITH THE SUV, YOU SHOULD TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR FIXING THE ISSUE, REGARDLESS OF THE MILEAGE. This SUV has been an issue from the start. You shouldn t have to keep a bottle of oil in your trunk to top off after every drive. I have paid over $2000 in repairs on this SUV in the past 2 years, and they won t even consider helping me because the repairs weren t done at their dealership. This came straight out of Gloria s mouth regarding the situation. Gross!!

3 years ago I went to Jim Butler to buy a 2010 Camaro. I bought it, loved it, then my family outgrew it (but it was FUN). I went back to Jim Butler to buy my next vehicle, an Equinox. I returned to Jim Butler because the customer service and attention to detail is unmatched in my experience.

Everything was great. I dreaded having to go through the torture of buying a new car as I've done in the pat. However, Brian Ries made everything easy and fair.
I'd recommend Jim Butler to everyone.

Dealing with Kim Housman is always a pleasure. She makes the irritation of getting your car serviced so much better. she was prompt to call with updates and kept me well informed. whatever you are paying her she deserves more and she understands what customer service is which is rare these days.

3 hour wait for a scheduled appointment. Now it's one thing to sit this long if you walk in. But to have a scheduled appointment and to wait there is something terribly wrong with that. Me and my wife came in for our tire. Simple check and fill but bc of the nitrofill we couldn't take it anywhere else. Great gimmick to screw over your customers. Hey you have this make an appointment and watch all the walkins that came in after you leave with a job well done. And to add insult to injury nothing but I'm sorry for the wait was offered.

I recommend Jim Butler Chevrolet to anyone looking for a new Chevy! They were extremely helpful with all of my questions and we found a wonderful car! We got a great deal and we're taken care of very well while we were there.

Went there expecting the same response I've gotten everywhere else. Within a matter of minutes I was test driving a brand new car. Shortly after that I was signing for my brand new car. The staff was absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to help me get into a brand new 2019 Chevy. If you need a car go to Jim Butler Chevrolet.

Went for a SCHEDULED appointment getting an oil change and rotation. I waited 2+ hours. I've had this done in 30 to 45 min before. Scheduling an appt made no difference in wait time, whatsoever. I had young kids with me too which made it even worse. They were very friendly which was their only saving grace.

My Girlfriend and I bought a 50k truck. So much money was allowed for trades and they were over paid and it has been over a month and we keep getting a run around on our money coming back to us. I will not be recommending this place to anyone.

Jim Butker Chevrolet had a great selection that offered the exact car, trim, and color I wanted. In addition to selection they gave me top dollar for my trade and a great deal on my new 2017 Camaro Convertible 2SS. Since I was coming in from out-of-town, they had the car and the paperwork ready to go as promised when I arrived. Everyone at Jim Butler was a pleasure to deal with--I'll buy from them again!

My wife had totaled her car and we needed to purchase a new vehicle so she had something to drive to work. Mike Marshall was a HUGE help, he was patient and helped us find the car WE wanted and did not try to push us into something just to get a sale. We got a great deal on our new to us Cadillac and he even set up to get our windows tinted for us .

We were in and out and through the finance with Dave with our new car purchased in just a few hours.

We would definitely recommend Jim Butler Chevy - Mike Marshall is the guy to see if you need a new vehicle!

This place left a sour taste in our mouths. We had recently totaled out our new car and needed a new one. We were "pre-approved' for a loan, but no amount was given. We came in test drove a few vehicles, found one we liked and started the paperwork on it. Was told the bank was closed we could take the car home for the night and someone will call us in the morning. NO ONE ever called. I called and left my salesman a message. Found out later after I never got a return call that he was off. The finance guy was not helpful. Never asked for any additional info in regards to our loan. We get there to return the car and we see our salesman test driving a car with a customer. We were never brought into anyone's office. The finance guy told us we either needed 5 grand down or a co-signer right out in the showroom. There were people all over. Talk about being humiliated and feeling little. They made us feel that because we weren't approved for an amount they liked we weren't worth their time anymore. The finance guy just told us that and walked away. We found 2 cars that were in our price range and were told we would get a call in the morning. Guess What?? No call. The 1st call i received was from the original lady Samantha. I told her how we felt and conveniently our salesman called us back. Supposedly they were working out a deal on one of the vehicles. This was at 1pm. He didn't call me back until 5pm and by then we had already purchased a car. from a different dealership. I feel we were treated like we were not worth your time because our loan amount wasn't a super high dollar amount. No effort was made to get our business. I will NEVER be back. But i'm pretty sure you all really don't care!

I just purchased my third Truck from Jim Butler and once again .... I couldn't be happier. It was my best buying experience yet. Which I think is in part due to the fact that my last two purchases have gone so well, and the team and Jim Butler has consistently exceeded expectations over the last three and a half years. Always taking great care for my truck when it has been in for scheduled work, helping to squeeze me in for a last minute oil change before heading to my brothers wedding out of state, and just overall making it a great experience well after the initial purchase. For this purchase, I knew exactly what I was looking for so I contacted Tim whom I have worked with in the past. Asking him about trucks that fit the criteria I was looking for. He responded to me within the hour with a few options. We went back and forth over the next hour or so talking about options, features, what I really wanted, and he helped me figure out which would be best for me. Little did I know, he was doing all of this while on vacation! I told him I wouldn't be able to make it in until the following week. Upon showing up, each Butler team member I walked past greeted me with a smile and a kind word. Tim got me set up with the truck I was looking for, test drove it, and from that point on ... I knew I was going to make a purchase but I couldn't that evening. Over the next 24 hours the Butler team helped me get everything in order with trading in my truck and getting me set up to take home the new one. Each person that called or talked with me in person was truly helpful, in great spirits and genuine... making the truck buying process enjoyable and solidifying my decision! Overall, another phenomenal experience at Jim Butler!

The entire staff was friendly, courteous and professional with a casual atmosphere, so we felt no pressure at all.
Our salesman John Zensen couldn't have been any better. His associates Kyle and Brett were both very helpful as well.
We'll definitely be back, and will highly recommend Jim Butler to all of our friends and family!

Go see Ardi Z and the Jim Butler team if you need a vehicle! Ardi and the team were knowledgeable, timely and had the best deal. Ardi was able to get me into the truck of my dreams for cheaper than anyone else St. Louis area at our very first meeting! And they have not forgotten about me post delivery! I live 45 min from the dealership and I am looking forward to going back! If you need a Chevy go see Ardi, you won t be sorry!

Great customer service but I can't help but feel like I was taken advantage of. The sell price we agreed upon was nothing like the sell price that came from financing. Pay extremely close attention to what you sign and make sure you have a clear understanding. My salesman in my opinion could have did a better job of explaining the pricing and trade in break down.

Called for some parts Friday, spoke to Rob, he said No Problem they will be in by Monday. Called Monday, spoke to Aaron, No parts, was told to check back next day. Called next day (Tuesday) and the manager(Andrew) said there was no record of it being on its way and that GM did not have the parts to even order, he did apologize saying Aaron and Rob were new. SOOO, It seems that $220 that we paid is going to a nothing order in lala land and now we are out a car and had to get a rental. OH and refund will show on my next statement? Not sure how long that means it will take. They did not offer any other options. We are in the market for a full size SUV and wont be going to them. I will tell my friends and family about our experience so they will never have to worry about going through what we have had to go through.

My salesman, John, was beyond helpful. He got me into the car of my dreams, at a price I could afford, and walked me through every step along the way. If your looking for a vehicle, I highly recommend you go see John and his team at Jim Butler Chevrolet. You will not be disappointed!

I took my 2000 Pontiac grand prix gt in for a recall on the valve cover and valve cover gasket. My brother recommended that I have Jim Butler Chevrolet do the recall work. The entire staff in the service department was very friendly and welcoming. I live in Illinois and feel that the 35 minute drive was well worth it.

Salesman Tony went out of his way to make it as easy as possible to buy a car. He even brought the car to my residence! Paris in the financial services department was also a great help in the buying process. UPDATE TO REVIEW 8-13-17 -
Neutral rating is because this was my 1st experience having to have a repair under this warranty i purchased there. Dropped car off 1st thing in AM and they were not able to even diagnose it until the next day leaving me with no rental car and not even knowing if i was covered or not on the repairs. Also charged me 50 bucks for my oil change and rotation after I already told them i had a 10% off coupon by email, but it was too late i already paid and just wanted to get out of there and be done with it and I didnt even realize it until afterwards. Kayla the service girl was very nice but manager Mike has an interesting way of explaining to customers with a raised irritated tone of voice. We will see how the next time goes. Manager Mike is VERY good at reminding you that you bought a USED CAR and not a NEW ONE when you are in need of any type of repair early in process. Stay tuned........................
UPDATE 10-21-17 Car is broken down again, 3rd time in 6 months or so, not good. We will see how this goes in the AM.
UPDATE: The car has had 3 issues in 6 mos and 2 of them were transmission related. This makes me wonder how much damage was done to the transmission before finding the issue and will this car last me as it should for the price I paid? The servc dept has been very nice with rentals and assisting but I question if this car is going to be dependable already. Kinda defeats the purpose of getting a newer car when it keeps breaking down. $200 deductibles each time for the warranty makes it harder to pay it off, especially when it is every other month it breaks down so far. Once again the actual service dept has been helpful and also helped with my most recent deductible. Just not sure what I think about BUICK being this is my 1st ownership of this brand.

I've searched for specifics about a certain part on my car. Since I couldn't find anything, I called the dealership to inquire. I've always went in to purchase parts when they are needed but I guess the woman that I spoke with today doesn't like the fact that I wasn't giving her money right away. I asked a question about how a particular part works and she seemed like I shouldn't be calling to inquire about trouble shooting.

I spend more money there than I should simply because the people in Service are helpful. I could easily get the parts cheaper someplace else but I have remained loyal with purchases because they are helpful with their information.

Looks like it's time to take my business elsewhere. Since I'm treated as though I'm a burden in that respect, I won't burden you with taking money from my wallet.

Good bye, Jim Butler Chevrolet!

Took my car there to have the check engine light assessed and underlying issue corrected. Multiple trips back to the dealership took place because the check engine light continued to come on. It felt like they were guessing at the cause, not confident all the work that was done was needed. This was my first time there for service, I will not be a repeat customer. The service advisor was nice to work with, but it is frustrating that each time I went there and told it was fixed end up with it not and a new issue supposedly causing the light to be in.

I'm purchasing a new car because my previous 2010 ...

I'm purchasing a new car because my previous 2010 Equinox blew up. It blew up because after the fuel pump recall, it started running roughly. I was told it was just a dirty throttle. I was not told about the known issue (cause of the recall) about how oil could've gotten into my engine. My car showing all the symptoms of the bigger problem of timing chain going out due to the oil in engine. When it idled rough again, I wasn't worried and thought I'd have to come back to have it cleaned again. But then it died on 270 traffic and had to have it towed to Butler. Then I was told that my engine was toast and needed a new one(short version). Price of resale dropping about $4000. I'm certainly no auto expert. When I started to google 2010 Equinox resale, I only got to 2010 equinox when timing chain issues got pre-populated. I know you can find anything on the internet but when every auto website has a list of people complaining, it is a known issue (hence the recall). So when there was a recall and I come in with all the symptoms of the known issue, why was I just sent off with the dirty throttle explanation? Engine could've been fixed or whatever before it blew. I blame the service department for not making me aware of the issue.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place, I decide to given Butler another chance. The used car sales manager(Tim Rhayne; sorry about the spelling) tells me how lucky I was to get 90,000 miles out of such a vehicle. My last car (mazda) was running fine at 200,000 when I traded it in. Previous car a Ford was fine at 150,000. My first Chevy had transmission replaced at 60,000 and turned into a 1 ton paperweight at 90,000. Not qualifying as a lemon but not something that screams quality (like the commercials say). However, I'm stuck so we purchase a Cruze. Happy with the car but not the service. Took a month to get the proper paperwork to register the car. I asked repeatedly for the paperwork. DMV does not care who's fault it is and has a $25 fine if it is past thirty days. I expect a check from Jim Butler ready for me to pick up immediately. I will pick it up the evening that I am told it is ready. I don't want a 'check in the mail'. We played that game already on the check from the Equinox and it took a month to get that too. I called/emailed repeatedly trying to get registration info and check for the equinox. I was emailed back by Casey 'all done and in the mail' that was on Dec 7th. On the 14th, I called and asked again and stayed on the line as he went to get an actual answer. It wasn't done when he said. The check was eventually mailed on the 12th. So he obviously did not check on things as he said he did. Also, the Monday after we purchased the Cruze I came in to pick up the check (because that's what I was told to do because they couldn't write a check on Saturday). Casey said 'oops I forgot to turn it in'. Complete wasted trip by me to go out of my way to stop in.

My wife and I have now purchased three vehicles (Equinox, Traverse, and Cruze) from Butler. She previously purchased a Cavalier from there. I spoke with some friends over the weekend that also have a 2010 Equinox. Surprise that they also had all the same issues but were lucky enough to have them caught under warranty and before it blew up the entire engine. After hearing my story, they are rethinking how long they plan on keeping it. I am so unhappy with Butler service right now.

UPDATE after owner response:
I assure you that I am not mistaken. The exact words out of the sales manager's mouth was that I was lucky to have a car run 7 years and 90,000 miles. I am upset with where it was serviced. It was serviced at Jim Butler for a recall. It was taken back immediately after when it wouldn't idle correctly any more. Then it blew up. It wasn't the fault of the guys that change the oil. Nice try of deflecting blame though.

No you don't build the cars. You sell and service them. Don't seem to stand behind either. Merry Christmas

6/29/19: 3 1/2 hours for oil change with appointment

A huge THANK YOU to Scott Johnson (Salesman)and Teri Pletka(Internet sales), for making our purchase of our 2020 Equinox painless and easy. Scott listened to our needs and we only needed to look at one vehicle and it was perfect. Our finance guy, Tyler, was also amazing. He listened to what our budget would be and went the extra mile to make it all work!! Tyler was awesome The New Car Sales mgr., Tim Rhame came buy to personally talk with us, especially finding out the we just had a death in the family and we were there at the dealership the evening of the burial, and gave his deepest Condolences In fact, quite a few of the associates gave us there condolences. When Jim Butler Chevrolet says you are like family, how we got treated, truly shows!! Thank you again to everyone that played a role in helping us with our purchase. We truly had an awesome experience and I highy reccomend Jim Butler Chevrolet

See update: The car was less than par but I was talked into leaving a refundable deposit. Why not? I ll get my money back, right??? They were quick to take my $100 deposit that same day, but after I did not choose the car, I am still waiting on a refund. This is the 9th business day. There is no reason it should take that long. Not the best business practice.

Update: on the 9th business day, I called and talked to Lindsey who assured me it would be taken care of by Monday. 9/15: Refund received 9/14. I appreciate the prompt response but it was only after I called to complain. I ve learned my lesson about leaving a deposit.

Completely unprofessional and lack communication. I was interested in a car they just got in and they kept telling me, "it'll be ready this week" "it'll be ready Monday" "It'll be ready Thursday". Then after taking my deposit on a car sight-unseen I was sent to voicemail trying to get an update and never called back in return. Years ago I saw a YouTube video of how horrible Jim Butler is but I gave it a go anyway. Buyer beware.

I wasn't actually going to buy a new truck, just wanted to "look at them", but after talking to Ardi and Stacey, I said what the heck!! I told them the options I wanted, and they made it happen!! Ardi put a sweet deal together for me and then Stacey comes along and sets the hook!!!! LOL Stacey went above and beyond with hooking me up with great financing and an awesome extended warranty. I usually don't get an extended warranty, but Stacey explained everything to me and it definitely made sense to pull the trigger!! Both guys are very pleasant to talk to and no hassle whatsoever!! I will definitely continue to buy my trucks from them!!!

Great experience. Didn t find a vehicle the first time around, but came back 2 weeks later because we knew we wanted to buy from Stacy! Mike Collins did a great job helping us get our new truck. We new exactly what we wanted and what we wanted to pay and Mike was able to get the deal done! Mike has continued to provide great service after the sale. We accepted our truck at night and three weeks later noticed a small scratch on one of the tow hooks. Mike worked with the parts department to get another one ordered and the service department installed it at no charge. They're shuttle driver Marvin even took me to IHOP while I waited. The whole Jim Butler team has strived to make sure our experience was first class. You guys have exceeded every expectation and have truly earned this 5 star review (I'm a tough customer). We love our truck, thanks for a great car buying experience Mike!

If your looking to purchase a vehicle, please spare yourself and go somewhere else. The sales department is a JOKE! I went into this dealership looking to purchase a used vehicle, after many attempts to come to an agreement on numbers, I knew they were trying to screw us on our trade in value. Finally I left and happily went elsewhere and even received more money for my trade and my sales person was more attentive to my wants and needs in picking out the new vehicle. I will not recommend or return to this dealership.

Well, after one of the best experiences from both Brian Ries and Kelly Roussin on a great deal (according to EVERYONE I ve told of the experience) I left with a new 2019 Trax. When I bought my first Jim Butler car I swore they d have my business and they did. And hopefully I ll get others to give them THEIR business.

Everyone was very friendly, offering water and snacks while we waited. Everything was explained and all question answered. This is my 2nd time buying from them and will continue to go here in the future.
