Had a free night and stayed there. Very nice. Clean rooms, WiFi. Room was stocked with amenities such as an alarm clock which served as an iPhone dock. Integrated with music. Work desk. Positioned near a variety of places to eat as well as Birdland Jazz Club. Gym was very clean and well kept. 24 hour access. Was able to go at 2AM peacefully. Treadmills we re equipped with a variety of programs and integrated to the internet.

This 5 star hotel is fine, but when you compare it to the price you pay for a room, you may feel a little cheated.
First of all, the staff is very friendly, helpful and smiling. The reception is nice. The rooms are perfectly okay, however, they could well be better at cleaning behind furniture and under the beds. The minibar is good, however, we found that one of our drinks was 2 years old. The daily cleaning is good and nice.
The location of the hotel is really good - close to the city center hotspots and eateries.

It is close to Times Square, Broadway musicals, and subway stations, making it a great location for sightseeing in New York City. It was the most basic two-bed room, but the view from the back was superb, so it is wonderful day and night. Amenity, room service Breakfast was also excellent! But I am so wicked that the sensor mini bar is too busy to use the fridge. And then I made an appointment with IHG application and paid for 100 $ per night at the time of checkout, I was a bit confused. For the intercom name value, facilities and services are not new - but it's New York!

Room was very dirty! I took photos of dusty corners and crevices, shower room is moldy. Beds and linens are old and no longer white. Bed cover is nasty. Front desk staffs were rude and poker face. Breakfast entrees never change for the whole week. Gym was muggy and mold odorous. They will not greet you unless you greet them first. Breakfast service staff were cramming. All we did in this hotel was to fall in line, from checking in up to getting our breakfast every morning. The room card key is always defective. One of the front desk staff complained to us due to the old operating system the hotel still use. Many times we have to come down from our room or from the lobby before going up to request reactivation of our card. Never again in this hotel. Btw, I am a former F&B/operations manager for ICHM.

The hotel is excellent and the bed is comfortable, I like the lack of a lobby. The location of the hotel is close to the Times Square, I think the accommodation next to Central Park or Madison or Soho is much better More

Located perfectly for seeing all the normal NYC sites. Also a convenient Metro station nextdoor to get across the city super fast. View on 34th floor is nice looking right over to the Hudson river.

Good clean hotel with a mid sized conference area. Very close to the action, but not noisy. You're within walking distance of most of the Broadway shows and 100's of restaurants. Even a short walk to Central Park if you're adventurous. Staff was very friendly and did their best to accommodate an early check-in as we caught an earlier flight and arrived before noon.

Not a bad hotel, but not impressive either. I stayed at the Michigan Ave Intercontinental in Chicago and it was MUCH nicer. This one felt more like a slightly nicer Holiday Inn. The room was cramped and the drain in the shower was clogged. Still the beds were comfortable, the staff was professional, and the location was fantastic. We walked to Broadway, Central Park, 5th Ave...it's all right there!

From start to Finish this was hands down the BEST experience I ve ever had. Whether you are rich or poor you get royal treatment. I got to the hotel at 9am and they allowed me to
Check in early. The bellmen and security were phenomenal..they watched me while I took my dog to the restroom late at night which made me feel 100% safe. They were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond any of my expectations. I highly recommend!!!

Location is great specially with kids, hotel is neat and clean. Staff is friendly. All the restaurants are just a 2 minute walk away better staying here rather then on the Times Square, which is over crowded all the time. Time square is just 300 meter walk.

Had high hopes for the hotel. Terrific location, elegant and clean rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful (and we received a wonderful room upgrade). However, all these positives were wiped out by $149 misleading Minibar bill. The hotel charged a $30 daily resort fee which is supposedly offset by a $25 daily minibar credit. However, the credit was never applied to my bill. And to make matters worse, the menu prices in the room did not reflect the actual prices that I was charged. For example, the room menu claimed a bottle of wine was $30, but I was actually billed $43. I feel like a sucker. Wish I went somewhere else. AVOID.

Cannot fault this hotel in any way! Stayed for 4 nights with my mum at the end of Feb in a 2 x double room on a high floor (30). Amazing views of the city and the river.

The beds were like sleeping on a cloud - and I have a great tempur bed at home! The pillows and bedding were top class. The walk in shower was huge with fantastic pressure. The room size was massive, especially for the location! Equipped with TV, Drawers, Wardrobes, Safe.

Mini bar is stocked but expensive. We were charged for a water we didn't have but as soon as we queried it on check out it was removed with no questions asked!

The location is perfect for those wanting to be close to Times Square and all the attractions but want a 5-star sanctuary!

There is a subway entrance literally next door to the hotel to 42nd Street Port Authority on the A-C-E line.

The staff were always friendly and helpful, the guys out front were always happy, remembered you, had a chat and helped with bags or cabs! The check in and out was quick and easy. The concierge were helpful with directions. Dialling down to reception was also always answered quickly, politely and any query was answered straight away.

You couldn't hear other neighbours nor the elevators (and we were very close to them!). They almost have a soft close to the doors. We never used our facility fee for food or drink because we didn't have time, but a glass of wine when you got back from a busy day would have been worth it!

We also didn't get breakfast as there's so many places to try. We enjoyed Westway Diner one morning just around the corner on 9th - cheap and cheerful!

If I return to NYC again I will 100% be staying at this hotel. Book it, you won't be disappointed (especially in a high floor double-double room!

Pay the price for luxury, get the mediocre stay.

Pay the price for luxury, get the mediocre stay.

The bill is laughable. For every night of room charge, there are 6 additional charges, one being 'a destination fee of 30 dollars per night'. On top of that, 2 additional tax items for the mandatory destination fee.

What does this 'destination' fee get you? 1) a discount at a mall nearby, where if you go and show you that you stay at Intercon, the answer is: sorry, we don't have vouchers available. When telling the Intercon concierge, she shurgged and continued reading her phone. 2) a bus tour or entrance at Ripley for 1 person. If you ask for the voucher, "the concierge has gone for the day".

As ambassador member, I was promised 1) a room upgrade (didn't get). 2) daily water (got one mini bottle the first day. The last day I asked for water, 1 hour later they hadn't still delivered). 3) welcome amenities (which was a sour pear and an apple). All with all, my bill ended up being 800 dollar for 2 days.

Ow, and breakfast for two. 35 dollar + tax + mandatory 18% tip, leaves you at near 90 dollars, and then only your day is about to start.

Also, a cocktail in their bar: 23 dollar which gets you a glass that is 50% filled with a huge cube of ice.

This is a total no go for me. I will not continue my ambassador membership. Bye bye Intercontinental.

Located at the corner of 8th and W44th.

Located at the corner of 8th and W44th.
Shake Shack is a marker.
It is comfortable in a room with a good view.
There are slippers.
It is good impression that housekeeping also does Teki Paki.
The club floor would be more comfortable.

Booked the Intercontinental because of my IHG status when visiting NYC. I found this hotel to be as nice as any I have ever stayed at, proximity to subway could not be any better, and service within the hotel is excellent. If returning to NYC, I would likely choose this property again.

I am a frequent traveler and this was my worst hotel experience in a long time.few reasons: They did not let my fiance check in for two hours althoughalthough I had called, gave her my passport and she had my credit card . Rooms were loud. Mini bar items were open and half empty upon arrival. I called three times the bellman men to help me with suitcases (first time 15m with prior notice), nb showed up. Even in the lobby (I had two suitcases and three bags ) nobody would help. Never ever again!

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Loved the decor when we entered the lobby. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was great for seeing Broadway shows and a lot of great restaurants within walking distance. Our room was beautiful. Lovely bathroom and shower. Bed was extremely comfortable. Would definitely return.

This is not my favorite Intercontinental Hotel so ...

This is not my favorite Intercontinental Hotel so my review is sort of biased because of that. It's New York so you don't expect the same service that one would get in Boston, Chicago or Miami right.

Well when I enter into an Intercontinental I do expect the same level of service and quality each time. I get that it's New York and space is limited. I get that it's New York and no one cares as much as other places. I get that it's tight and cramped everywhere in New York but really?

Again I'm biased based on other intercontinental hotel properties. First off let me say that this is a beautiful hotel. I truly like the property and the amenities completely. The location is great and with the subway right here and in Times Square you can't ask for much more or can you? If you're in New York then no you can't. You have to base it on the location so based on the location I'd give this property 5 stars but being spoiled by other properties I'd settle for the 4 that I've rated it at.

Unfair? Yea, I agree that it is but it's all based on personal opinion anyway.

In any case when I come to New York this property is my property of choice. The gym is nice, the restaurant is very good and again the location you can't beat. It's ways clean and we'll kept. The staff is kind and do their jobs fully so I never have to worry about what I'm getting when I come here because I know and have come to expect it.

Came here a few years back, deciding to put on a review now.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel, great, reliable, friendly service, brilliant view from the two different rooms I was in, very good location wise, right near times square, couple minute walk to the nearest subway station, but not to hectic around the area. So overall deserves 5 stars. Thanks!
