Service from arrival to departure was amazing. We asked for a room change Midway through our stay (we had a great 1st floor suite in the cabanas) and they provided an even better cabana room (The Marilyn Monroe suite was unbelievable location and room). Cudos to HR!

The Library Bar at the Roosevelt was a pretty cool place where you can ask the bartender to make you custom drinks using whatever liquors, fruits and vegetables they have available. You won't find a lot of traditional cocktails here but instead you get the freedom to experiment and find something you like.

Our favorite place to stay on many visits to this place! A true old-world hotel with all its charm and a great location. The room had a huge bed, and the bathroom was equipped with a walk-in shower, lots of hot water with great pressure. Our window looked out onto a business building and overlooked the busy street below. A truly wonderful, classic hotel!

A really beautiful classic retro hotel with a feeling of the Otterman Empire in the 1930s. But, very prickly staff. Me thinks, they are only trained to tolerate affluent guests or super stars. I asked to use their swimming pool for an hour a day at 6.30 a.m. for an 11-week period and they snootily declined my request even though they told me the pool is invariably not in use by any guests at that unearthly hour! They said if I paid $50 per swim, it would be permissible. Forth with I made alternative arrangements. I swim free now at the West Hollywood Swim Center. Forgive and forget.

Went to The Hollywood Roosevelt for the Tropicana Bar. First time there. It was great. The '60's theme was refreshing and made us feel like we were hanging out where I am sure many well known people have. Spent $30 on one beer and one Tequila Sunrise but it is on Hollywood Blvd so that is expected. Would highly recommend.

Amazing place! Amazing pool! I wish I lived in LA, I'd be here all the time. Gorgeous location for drinks in the evening - the pool is beautiful and the lights strung up on the palm trees add so much to the ambiance. Can't wait to go back.

I have been visiting the spare room and watching my friends' bowling tournament. The Roosevelt has a really nice and chill vibe. Staff is very friendly and observant . Roosevelt lobby wifi is convenient and usually stable.

It's a nice hotel, not very clean though. You pay for the experience itself. I wouldn't go there for more than 3 or 4 nights as it is a party hotel. Staff was a bit arrogant, especially at the pool bar. Cocktails are expensive.

Fairly spectacular hotel. the architecture is fantastic, as is the pool and history. The staff leave much to be desired. Right on the Hollywood walk of fame and very near a subway station.

I had a room out the back by the pool, patio doors opening onto the pool area
The hotel is ideally placed for everything Hollywood
Sadly nothing like it's portrayed in the movies, a couple of blocks in the wrong direction it's a complete dump

This is a really charming hotel. It's comprised of two intertwined sections. The tower and the cabanas.

I would avoid the tower building for lodging. Old fashioned and a bit stale.

These stars are for the Cabana rooms. They are adjacent to the gorgeous pool and pool bar. So fun. You can literally put your book down in your quiet room, open your patio door, walk thru your private hedge and it's just another 20 feet to order a cocktail. Peace-and-quiet to party in less than 30 seconds.

You get a great little private patio too with a day bed and nothing but greenery seperating you from the action. Just think what could happen on that day bed. ;)

The pool is surrounded by mile high palm trees, pretty lights, views of old-school Hollywood buildings peeking out over the lush green environment, and tons of comfy places to hang. It's a little oasis in the middle of Hollywood. (Too bad it's on Hollywood Blvd or it would be 5 stars for sure).

Douche factor is also low, which is a big rare plus for a swank pool bar.

In the tower... don't stay there but... Library bar is an awesome little quirky bar. The diner, restaurant and lobby bar are nice, but a bit whatever. You want to find the hidden bar that has the bowling alley in it. There. Now you have mission.

Went for a birthday pool party. Can't fault the hotel for the majority of the mess, but to have so few lounge chairs with so many people visiting was bizarre. Music wasn't bad half the time. Wait staff was nice enough. Hosts were flaky.

I stayed for three nights and had a great time. The pool is a lot of fun, drinks are a little expensive but worth it. It's in the heart of Hollywood and you get to see all kinds. If you're a tourist this is the place.

Thought we'd splurge a little and get a $300 room in the middle of a city. Who charges extra for WIFI? It's the 21st century. I've gotten better service from a Holiday Inn Express. You're just paying for the name. Beautiful hotel though.
